Day 187 of the 2nd Bible Study Journey - 6 July 2022 reflections
Day 187, 6 July 2022
1) Psalms 98-100,102,104
Psalms 98
A Psalm.
1 Oh, sing to the Lord a new song,
for He has done marvelous deeds!
His right hand and His holy arm
have accomplished deliverance.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord has made known His salvation;
His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) He has remembered His mercy
and His faithfulness toward the house of Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the deliverance of our God.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth;
break out in loud songs, and sing praises.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Sing unto the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of melody,
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) with trumpets and sound of the horn;
make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 )Let the sea roar, and all that fills it,
the world and those who live in it;
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills be joyful together
9 ( Ps 38:6; 18:2 ) before the Lord,
for He is coming to judge the earth.
With righteousness He will judge the world,
and the peoples with justice.
Psalms 98
[1] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his
right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
[2] The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly
shewed in the sight of the heathen.
[3] He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel:
all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
[4] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and
rejoice, and sing praise.
[5] Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
[6] With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD,
the King.
[7] Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that
dwell therein.
[8] Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
[9] Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness
shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
Psalms 99
1 The Lord reigns;
let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned between the cherubim;
let the earth shake.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord is great in Zion;
He is high above all the peoples.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Let them praise Your great and awesome name—
He is holy!
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) The King's strength loves justice;
You establish righteousness,
and You execute judgment
and fairness in Jacob.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Exalt the Lord our God,
and worship at His footstool - He is holy!
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Moses and Aaron were among His priests,
even Samuel was among them who called upon His name;
they called upon the Lord,
and He answered them.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
they kept His statues and the ordinance that He gave them.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) You answered them,
O Lord our God;
You were a God who forgave them,
though You took vengeance on their wrongdoing.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Exalt the Lord our God,
and worship at His holy mountain;
for the Lord our God is holy!
Psalms 99
[1] The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the
cherubims; let the earth be moved.
[2] The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
[3] Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
[4] The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity,
thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
[5] Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
[6] Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon
his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
[7] He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and
the ordinance that he gave them.
[8] Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest
them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
[9] Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our
God is holy.
PSALMS 100
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth!
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before His presence with singing.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Know that the Lord, He is God;
it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
and into His courts with praise;
be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) For the Lord is good; His mercy endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalms 100
[1] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
[2] Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
[3] Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we
ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
[4] Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
[5] For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth
to all generations.
PSALMS 102
A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is overwhelmed
and pours out his complaint before the Lord.
1 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and let my cry come unto You.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Do not hide Your face from me
in the day when I am in trouble;
incline Your ear to me;
in the day when I call answer me quickly.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For my days are consumed like smoke,
and my bones are burned as a furnace.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) My heart is struck down and withered like grass,
so that I forget to eat my bread.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Because of the sound of my groaning
my bones cling to my skin.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) I am like an owl of the wilderness,
like a screech owl of the desert.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) I stay awake and am
as a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) My enemies reproach me all the day,
and those who taunt me curse my name.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) For I have eaten ashes like bread
and mixed my drink with weeping,
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
for You have lifted me up, and cast me down.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) My days are like an evening shadow that vanishes,
and I wither away like grass.
12 But You, O Lord, shall endure forever enthroned
and Your reputation to all generations.
13 You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion,
for the time to favor her,
indeed, the appointed time has come.
14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,
and have pity on her dust.
15 So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord,
and all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For the Lord shall build up Zion;
He shall appear in His glory.
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute
and will not despise their prayer.
18 Let this be written for the generation to come,
that a people who shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 For He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
from heaven the Lord looked down on the earth,
20 to hear the groaning of the prisoners
and to set free those who are appointed to death,
21 that they may declare the name of the Lord in Zion
and His praise in Jerusalem;
22 when the peoples are gathered together,
and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23 He has weakened my strength in my midlife;
He has shortened my days.
24 I said,
"O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days-
Your years endure throughout all generations."
25 From before You have laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 They shall perish, but You shall endure;
indeed, all of them shall wear out like a garment;
like a robe You shall change them,
and they shall pass away,
27 but You are the same,
and Your years shall have no end.
28 The children of Your servants shall be secure,
and their offspring shall be established before You.
Psalms 102
[1] Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
[2] Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine
ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
[3] For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
[4] My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my
bread.
[5] By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
[6] I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
[7] I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
[8] Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me
are sworn against me.
[9] For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
[10] Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up,
and cast me down.
[11] My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
[12] But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all
generations.
[13] Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her,
yea, the set time, is come.
[14] For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust
thereof.
[15] So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of
the earth thy glory.
[16] When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
[17] He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their
prayer.
[18] This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which
shall be created shall praise the LORD.
[19] For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven
did the LORD behold the earth;
[20] To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed
to death;
[21] To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
[22] When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the
LORD.
[23] He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
[24] I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years
are throughout all generations.
[25] Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are
the work of thy hands.
[26] They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax
old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be
changed:
[27] But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
[28] The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be
established before thee.
PSALMS 104
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great!
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) covering Yourself with light as a garment,
who stretches out the heavens like a tent curtain,
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) who lays the upper beams
of His chambers on the waters above,
who makes the clouds His chariot,
who rides upon the wings of the wind,
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) who makes His angels as winds,
His ministers a flaming fire.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) You laid the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be moved.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) You covered it with the deep as a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) At Your rebuke they fled;
at the sound of Your thunder they departed away.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 ) The mountains rose up;
the valleys went down
to the place that You appointed them.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) You set a boundary that they may not pass over,
that they may not again cover the earth.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) You send the springs to gush forth in the valleys,
which flow between the hills.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) They give drink to every animal of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;
they sing among the branches.
13 You water the mountains from Your lofty chamber;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 You cause the grass to grow for the cattle
and plants for the cultivation of man,
that he may bring forth food from the earth
15 and wine that makes glad the heart of man,
and oil that makes shine his face,
and bread that strengthens his heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanon that He has planted,
17 where the birds make their nests,
where the stork has its home in the fir trees.
18 The high mountains are for the wild goats,
and the rocks a refuge for the badgers.
19 He set the moon to mark the appointed seasons;
the sun knows its time for going down.
20 You make darkness, and it is night,
when all the animals of the forest go forth.
21 The young lions roar after their prey
and seek their food from God.
22 When the sun arises, they gather themselves together
and lay down in their dens.
23 Man goes forth to his work
and to his labor until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
With wisdom You have made them all;
the earth is full of Your creatures-
25 so is this great and wide sea,
which is full of innumerable creatures,
living animals both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and there is Leviathan, which You have made to play in it.
27 These all wait upon You,
that You may give them their food in due season.
28 When You give it to them,
they gather it;
when You open Your hand,
they are filled with good food.
29 When You hide Your face,
they are troubled;
You take away their breath,
and they die and return to their dust.
30 When You send forth Your Spirit,
they are created,
and You renew the surface of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in His works.
32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 May my meditation be sweet to Him,
for I will be glad in the Lord.
35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth,
and let the wicked be no more.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!
Psalms 104
[1] Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art
clothed with honour and majesty.
[2] Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out
the heavens like a curtain:

[4] Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

[6] Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood

[7] At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
[8] They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place
which thou hast founded for them.
[9] Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not
again to cover the earth.
[10] He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
[11] They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench
their thirst.
[12] By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing

[13] He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with
the fruit of thy works.

of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
[15] And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to
shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
[16] The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he
hath planted;
[17] Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are
her house.
[18] The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the
conies.
[19] He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
[20] Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the
forest do creep forth.
[21] The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
[22] The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in
their dens.

season.
[28] That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are
filled with good.
[29] Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath,
they die, and return to their dust.
[30] Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the
face of the earth.
[31] The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in
his works.
[32] He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and
they smoke.
[33] I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my
God while I have my being.
[34] My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
[35] Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no
more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

Entitled You Can Do It!
Acts 14:21-28
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 (Ac 13:51; 14:19) When they had preached the gospel to that city
and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra
and to Iconium and to Antioch,
22 (Jn 16:33; 2Ti 3:12) strengthening the minds of the disciples
and exhorting them to continue in the faith, to go through many afflictions
and thus enter the kingdom of God.
23 (Titus 1:5; Ac 11:30; 20:32) When they had appointed elders for them
in every church, with prayer and fasting, they commended them to the Lord
in whom they believed.
24 (Ac 13:13-14) Then they passed throughout Pisidia and came to Pamphylia,
25 and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia.
26 (Ac 15:40; 11:19) From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been
commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed.
27 (Ac 15:12; 1Co 16:9) When they arrived and had assembled the church,
they reported what God had done through them and how He had opened
the door of faith to the Gentiles.
28 (Ac 11:26) And there they stayed a long time with the disciples.
[21] And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught
many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
[22] Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue
in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the
kingdom of God.
[23] And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed
with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
[24] And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
[25] And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into
Attalia:
[26] And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to
the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
[27] And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they
rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of
faith unto the Gentiles.
[28] And there they abode long time with the disciples.
Encouragement is like oxygen-we can't live without it. This was true for
9-year-old James Savage. The boy swam more than two miles from the San
Francisco shoreline to Alcatraz Island and back, breaking the record for the
youngest person to accomplish the feat. But thirty minutes into the swim, the
choppy, frigid waters made James want to quit. However, a fleet of paddlers
called out, "You can do it!" The words gave him the boost he needed
to finish his goal.
When the choppy, frigid waters of tribulation made believers in Jesus want to
give up, Paul and Barnabas encouraged them to continue their journey. After
the apostles preached the gospel in the city of Derbe, they "returned to
Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them
to remain true to the faith" (Acts 14:21-22). They helped the believers to
remain firm in their faith in Jesus. Troubles had weakened them, but words of
encouragement strengthened their resolve to live for Christ. In God's
strength, they realized they could keep pressing on. Finally, Paul and
Barnabas helped them understand that they would
"go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God" (v. 22).
Living for Jesus can be difficult, and we're sometimes tempted to give up.
Fortunately, Jesus and fellow believers in Him can provide the encouragement
we need to press on. With Him, we can do it!

Week 2 - Saved by Grace - Day 4 - Entire Forgiveness
Acts 13:38
38 (Lk 24:47; Ac 2:38) "Therefore, brothers, let it be known
to you that through this Man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,"
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren,
that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
At age 17 Mary, a cross-country runner, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
She went on to college, faced with the prospect of gradual physical decline
and, ultimately, life in a wheelchair. "The worst part," Mary admitted "is
not the pain or the inability to do what I once did. The worst part is
the hopelessness, the emotional struggle. There is no cure, no real
treatment - only insurance."
In our fallen world, there are many incurable circumstances we have to endure.
But the guilt of our sin is not one of them. Yet despite the declaration
of the Scripture that Jesus' sacrificial death paid the price for our sins,
many of us carry a load of guilt - as if we ourselves had tp pay the price.
Paul, a man who know the grace of God and the depth of his own sin,
emphasises the source and the completeness of our forgiveness.
Through Jesus - not through my good behaviour, not through my determination to
change, not through my reputation, my family's faith, or my religious duties.
Forgiveness of sins come through Christ alone, a gift we do not deserve,
a gift which places all of us on equal ground at the foot of the cross.
To acknowledge our sin without knowing the source of forgiveness only
results in hopelessness and despair - we see ourselves, yet we are powerless
to change the sin we see. But when we realise that Christ has provided
complete forgiveness of sin, we can face our sin honestly, knowing
the freedom of confession and the restoration of forgiveness.
Application
a) In what ways have I changed myself, to "turn over a new leaf",
to "make myself worthy" of God's love?
b) How can Acts 13:38 help me remember the source of forgiveness?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Proverbs 22:7
7 The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is servant to the lender.
7 The rich ruleth over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
When you are Saddened by Loss
John 14:1 - 7
1 "Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are many dwelling places.
If it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again
and receive you to Myself,
that where I am, you may be also.
4 You know where I am going, and you know the way."
5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know
where You are going. How can we know the way?"
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.
From now on you do know Him and have seen Him."
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest;
and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also:
and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020
Under the Keep Praying page
When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

house."

5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.
"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.
Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians
and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the
love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.
One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by
light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.
As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and
confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution
to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.
Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.
Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father
to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.
I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.
God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through
the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom
and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."
13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

6th Day of the Month
a) Pray for a more effective witness by the church in every Canadian community
(
Deut 4:6-7
6 (Job 28:28; Pr 1:7 ) Therefore, keep and do them, for this is your wisdom and
your understanding in the sight of the nations which shall hear all these
statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and
understanding people."
7 (2Sa 7:23; Ps 46:1) For what nation is there so great, who has a god so near
to it as the Lord our God is in all things whenever we call on Him?
6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and
your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these
statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and
understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them,
as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
Matt 5:13-16
13 (Lev 2:13; Lk 14:34-35) "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt
loses its saltiness, how shall it be made salty? It is from then on good for
nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfoot by men.
14 (Jn 8:12; Pr 4:18) "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden.
15 (Mk 4:21; Lk 8:16) Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket,
but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 (1Pe 2:12; Mt 9:8; Jn 15:8) Let your light so shine before men that they
may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing,
but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set
on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on
a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Acts 1:8
8 (Mt 28:19; Mk 16:15) "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes
upon you. And you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life
in all godliness and honesty, 3 (1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and
acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all
men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 for kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty. 3For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 who will have all men to be saved,

His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.

break out in loud songs, and sing praises.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Sing unto the Lord with the harp,

7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 )Let the sea roar, and all that fills it,
the world and those who live in it;
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills be joyful together
[6] With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD,
the King.

dwell therein.

[9] Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness
shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned between the cherubim;
let the earth shake.

He is high above all the peoples.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Let them praise Your great and awesome name—

they kept His statues and the ordinance that He gave them.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) You answered them,
O Lord our God;

thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
[9] Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our
God is holy.

ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Do not hide Your face from me
in the day when I am in trouble;
incline Your ear to me;
in the day when I call answer me quickly.
16 For the Lord shall build up Zion;
He shall appear in His glory.
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute
and will not despise their prayer.
18 Let this be written for the generation to come,
that a people who shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 For He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
from heaven the Lord looked down on the earth,
20 to hear the groaning of the prisoners
and to set free those who are appointed to death,
21 that they may declare the name of the Lord in Zion
and His praise in Jerusalem;
22 when the peoples are gathered together,
and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23 He has weakened my strength in my midlife;
He has shortened my days.
24 I said,
"O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days-
Your years endure throughout all generations."
25 From before You have laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 They shall perish, but You shall endure;
indeed, all of them shall wear out like a garment;
like a robe You shall change them,
and they shall pass away,
27 but You are the same,
and Your years shall have no end.
[19] For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven
did the LORD behold the earth;
[20] To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed
to death;
[21] To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) You covered it with the deep as a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) At Your rebuke they fled;
at the sound of Your thunder they departed away.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 ) The mountains rose up;
the valleys went down
to the place that You appointed them.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) You set a boundary that they may not pass over,
that they may not again cover the earth.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) You send the springs to gush forth in the valleys,
which flow between the hills.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) They give drink to every animal of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;
they sing among the branches.
13 You water the mountains from Your lofty chamber;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
19 He set the moon to mark the appointed seasons;
the sun knows its time for going down.
With wisdom You have made them all;
the earth is full of Your creatures-
25 so is this great and wide sea,
which is full of innumerable creatures,
living animals both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and there is Leviathan, which You have made to play in it.
27 These all wait upon You,
that You may give them their food in due season.
28 When You give it to them,
they gather it;
when You open Your hand,
they are filled with good food.
29 When You hide Your face,
they are troubled;
You take away their breath,
and they die and return to their dust.
30 When You send forth Your Spirit,
they are created,
and You renew the surface of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in His works.
32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live;
[3] Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the
clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
[4] Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
[5] Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for
ever.
[6] Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood
above the mountains.
[12] By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing
among the branches.
[13] He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with
the fruit of thy works.
[14] He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service
of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
[15] And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to
shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
[16] The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he
hath planted;
[22] The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in
their dens.
[23] Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
[24] O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all:
the earth is full of thy riches.
[25] So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable,
both small and great beasts.
[26] There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to
play therein.
[27] These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due

Reflect & Pray
What people in your circles of influence need to hear, "You can do it!"?
What specific words of wisdom and encouragement can you share this week?
Jesus, when I’m tempted to give up,
please send people to give me confidence and courage
to continue my walk with You.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest;
and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also:
and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]
Footnotes

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

And
Thank you for praying through the
5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.

A city that is set on a

wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing,
but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set
on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on

acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all
men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
