1) Proverbs 11-13
Proverbs 11
1 (Pr 16:11; 20:10; 20:23) A false balance is abomination to the Lord,
but a just weight is His delight.
2 (Pr 29:23; 18:12) When pride comes, then comes shame;
but with the humble is wisdom.
3 (Pr 13:6 ) The integrity of the upright will guide them,
but the perverseness of transgressors will destroy them.
4 (Ge 7:1; Pr 10:2) Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death.
5 (Pr 5:22) The righteousness of the upright will direct his way,
but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.
6 (Ecc 10:8) The righteousness of the upright will deliver them,
but transgressors will be taken by their schemes.
7 (Pr 10:28; Job 8:13-14) When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish,
and the hope of unjust men perishes.
8 (Pr 21:18) The righteous is delivered out of trouble,

Proverbs 12
1 (Pr 9:7-8) Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is brutish.
2 (Pr 8:35) A good man obtains favor of the Lord,
but a man of wicked devices will He condemn.
3 (Pr 10:25) A man will not be established by wickedness,
but the root of the righteous will not be moved.
4 (Pr 14:30; Hab 3:16) A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband,
but she who brings shame is as rottenness in his bones.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right,
but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 (Pr 14:3) The words of the wicked are, "Lie in wait for blood,"
but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.

but the soul of the diligent will be made fat.

The Narrow Gate

teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Someone said to Him, "Lord, will those who are saved be few?"
He said to them,
24 "Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you,
will try to enter and will not be able.
25 (Mt 25:10-12; Lk 13:27) Once the Master of the house has risen up
and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door,
saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' He will answer you,
'I do not know where you come from.'
26 "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence,
and you taught in our streets.'
27 (Mt 25:41; Ps 6:8; Lk 13:25) "But He will say, 'I tell you, I do not
know you, or where you come from. Depart from Me,
all you workers of iniquity.'

The Strait Gate
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said
unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you,
will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door,
and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord,
open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye
are:
26 then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence,
and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are;
depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, a
nd Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you
yourselves thrust out.
29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north,
and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first,
and there are first which shall be last.
Croissants, dumplings, pork curry, and all sorts of scrumptious food await
those who find and enter the Narrow Door Cafe. Located in the Taiwanese city
of Tainan, this cafe is literally a hole in the wall. Its entrance is barely
forty centimeters wide (less than sixteen inches)-just enough for the average
person to squeeze his way through! Yet, despite the challenge, this unique
cafe has attracted large crowds.
Will this be true of the narrow door described in Luke 13:22-30? Someone
asked Jesus, "are there few that be saved?" (v. 23). In reply, Jesus
challenged the person to "make every effort to enter through the narrow door"
to God's kingdom (v. 24). He was essentially asking, "Will the saved include
you?" Jesus used this analogy to urge the Jews not to be presumptuous. Many
of them believed they'd be included in God's kingdom because they were
Abraham's descendants or because they kept the law. But Jesus challenged
them to respond to Him before "the owner of the house . . . closes
the door" (v. 25).
Neither our family background nor our deeds can make us right with God.
Only faith in Jesus can save us from sin and death
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7). The door is narrow, but it's wide open
to all who will put their faith in Jesus. He's inviting us today to seize
the opportunity to enter through the narrow door to His kingdom.

How can you have confidence you'll enter through the narrow door a
nd be assured of eternal life with Jesus? Why is this decision so important?
Jesus, thank You for inviting me into Your kingdom.
I believe You came to die for me and You rose from the grave.

Week 4 - The Blessings of Grace Day 7 God's Bulldozer - Luke 3:5-6

When a new highway is being constructed, the roads crew work hard
in preparing for the new surface to be laid. Giant bulldozers cut through
the hillsides, moving earth, leveling, filling, evening the path out where
the roadway will run. When the work is first begun, if often looks like chaos:
and even after the highway begins to take shape, the land is still ugly,
scarred by the unsightly gashes cut through the landscape. Yet after
the work is completed and the grass and trees are replanted, we forget
the temporary upheaval and see only the
beauty of the land and the convenience of the new roadway.
In Luke 3:5-6, John the Baptist presents a prophecy of the coming of Christ,
a prophecy quoted from Isaiah 40:3-5 . The prophecy speaks of the preparation
of the world for the coming Messiah, but is also applies to the preparation
of the individual heart to receive him.
Sometimes, the Holy Spirit must do major work in our hearts to prepare us for
the coming of Christ into our live. Like a bulldozer, he brings down the
mountains of pride in our lives. He fill the empty places , corrects
the crooked, grades down the rough edges of our hearts.
Often this is not pleasant work. We prefer to maintain the rugged landscape
of Self, and we do not like the ugly scars that are left after the bulldozer
has done its job.
But if we submit to the Spirit's "Construction work" in us, the way will be
paved for the Lord to enter into our lives, and others will see in us,
the way be paved for the Lord to enter into our lives, and other will see
in us the glory and salvation of our God.
Application
a) What "construction work" has to Holy Spirit done in me?
b) What restoration has taken place because of that work?
c) How do today's verses help me put in perspective the work
God still want to do in me?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.

- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

The Strait Gate

27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are;

Croissants, dumplings, pork curry, and all sorts of scrumptious food await
those who find and enter the Narrow Door Cafe. Located in the Taiwanese city
of Tainan, this cafe is literally a hole in the wall. Its entrance is barely
forty centimeters wide (less than sixteen inches)-just enough for the average
person to squeeze his way through! Yet, despite the challenge, this unique
cafe has attracted large crowds.
Will this be true of the narrow door described in Luke 13:22-30? Someone
asked Jesus, "are there few that be saved?" (v. 23). In reply, Jesus
challenged the person to "make every effort to enter through the narrow door"
to God's kingdom (v. 24). He was essentially asking, "Will the saved include
you?" Jesus used this analogy to urge the Jews not to be presumptuous. Many
of them believed they'd be included in God's kingdom because they were
Abraham's descendants or because they kept the law. But Jesus challenged
them to respond to Him before "the owner of the house . . . closes
the door" (v. 25).
Neither our family background nor our deeds can make us right with God.
Only faith in Jesus can save us from sin and death
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7). The door is narrow, but it's wide open
to all who will put their faith in Jesus. He's inviting us today to seize
the opportunity to enter through the narrow door to His kingdom.

When a new highway is being constructed, the roads crew work hard
in preparing for the new surface to be laid. Giant bulldozers cut through
the hillsides, moving earth, leveling, filling, evening the path out where
the roadway will run. When the work is first begun, if often looks like chaos:
and even after the highway begins to take shape, the land is still ugly,
scarred by the unsightly gashes cut through the landscape. Yet after
the work is completed and the grass and trees are replanted, we forget
the temporary upheaval and see only the
beauty of the land and the convenience of the new roadway.
In Luke 3:5-6, John the Baptist presents a prophecy of the coming of Christ,
a prophecy quoted from Isaiah 40:3-5 . The prophecy speaks of the preparation
of the world for the coming Messiah, but is also applies to the preparation
of the individual heart to receive him.
Sometimes, the Holy Spirit must do major work in our hearts to prepare us for
the coming of Christ into our live. Like a bulldozer, he brings down the
mountains of pride in our lives. He fill the empty places , corrects
the crooked, grades down the rough edges of our hearts.
Often this is not pleasant work. We prefer to maintain the rugged landscape
of Self, and we do not like the ugly scars that are left after the bulldozer
has done its job.
But if we submit to the Spirit's "Construction work" in us, the way will be
paved for the Lord to enter into our lives, and others will see in us,
the way be paved for the Lord to enter into our lives, and other will see
in us the glory and salvation of our God.
Application
a) What "construction work" has to Holy Spirit done in me?
b) What restoration has taken place because of that work?
c) How do today's verses help me put in perspective the work
God still want to do in me?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
