The Ark Brought to the Temple
2Ch 5:2-6:11
1 (2Ch 5:2-10; 2Sa 6:12-17) Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel
and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children
of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, so that they could ensure
that the ark of the covenant of the Lord would be brought
out of the City of David in Zion.
2 (Lev 23:34; 2Ch 7:8-10) All the men of Israel assembled themselves
before King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim,
which is the seventh month.
3 (Dt 31:9; Jos 3:6) All the elders of Israel came,
and the priests carried the ark.
4 (1Ki 3:4; 2Ch 1:3) The priests and Levites brought up the ark of the Lord,
the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy implements that were
in the tabernacle.
5 (2Sa 6:13) King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were
assembled before him stood together in front of the ark,
sacrificing so many sheep and oxen
that they could not be told or numbered.
6 (2Sa 6:17; 1Ki 6:19) The priests brought in the ark of the covenant
of the Lord to its place in the inner sanctuary of the house,
to the Most Holy Place under the wings of the cherubim.
7 For the cherubim spread forth their two wings over the place
of the ark and covered the ark and the poles from above.
8 (Ex 25:13-15; 37:4-5) The poles were so long that the ends of the poles
could be seen out in the holy place in front of the inner sanctuary,
but they could not be seen from outside, and they are there to this day.
9 (Ex 25:21; 40:20; Heb 9:4) There was nothing in the ark except
for the two tablets of stone that Moses put there at Horeb
when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel
after they had come out of the land of Egypt.
10 (Ex 40:34-35; 2Ch 7:1-2) And when the priests came out of the holy place,
the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 so that the priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud,
for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

of the city of David, which is Zion.
2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the

3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
4 And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the
congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle,
even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled
unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that
could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his
place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under
the wings of the cherubims.
7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark,
and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in
the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there
they are unto this day.
9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put
there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel,
when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place,
that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
11 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud:
for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

1 (1Ki 7:51) Thus all the work that Solomon did for the house of the Lord
was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father
had dedicated: the silver and the gold and all the furnishings
in the treasury of the house of God.
The Ark Brought to the Temple
1Ki 8:1-21
2 (2Sa 6:12; 2Ch 1:4) Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel
and all the heads of the tribes and the leaders of the houses of the fathers
among the sons of Israel to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord
from the City of David, which is Zion.
3 (1Ki 8:2; 2Ch 7:8-10) And all the men of Israel were assembled
before the king at the feast, which is the seventh month.
Tishri or Ethanim in the Hebrew calendar.
4 (Jos 3:6; 1Ki 8:3) All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites
carried the ark.
5Then they brought up the ark, and the tent of meeting,
and all the holy vessels that were in the tent.
So the Levitical priests brought them up.
6 And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel,
who were assembled with him before the ark,
were sacrificing so many sheep and oxen
that they could not be counted or numbered.
7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place-
to the inner sanctuary of the temple, into the Most Holy Place,
under the wings of the cherubim.
8 Then the cherubim wings were spread out over the place of the ark
so that the cherubim covered the ark and its poles.
9 (1Ki 8:8-9) The poles were extended so that the ends of the poles
of the ark were seen in front of the Most Holy Place,
but they were not seen outside; and they are still there to this day.
10 (Heb 9:4; Dt 10:2-5) In the ark there was nothing except the two tablets
that Moses had given at Mount Horeb where the Lord made a covenant
with the sons of Israel when they went out from Egypt.
11 When the priests came out from the Most Holy Place-for all the priests who
were present had consecrated themselves, without keeping separate divisions-
12 (1Ch 15:24; 6:33) and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman,
and Jeduthun, with their sons and relatives, all clothed in fine linen,
with cymbals, harps, and lyres, stood to the east of the altar,
and with them one hundred and twenty priests
who were sounding with trumpets,
13 (2Ch 7:3; Ezr 3:11) it happened, when the trumpet players and singers
made one sound to praise and give thanks to the Lord,
and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals
and all the instruments of music and praised the Lord saying,
"For He is good
and His mercy endures forever,"
that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud.
14 (Ex 40:35; 2Ch 7:2) And the priests were not able to stand in order
to serve because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled
the house of God.

1 Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished:
and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated;
and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among
the treasures of the house of God.
The Dedication
2 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the

3 Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king

13 it came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make
one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted
up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and
praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that
then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
14 so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud:
for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

12 (Ps 97:2; Lev 16:2) Then Solomon spoke, saying,
"The Lord said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 (2Sa 7:13; Ex 15:17) I have surely built You a house to dwell in,
a settled place for You to abide in forever."
14 (2Sa 6:18) Then the king turned around and blessed all the congregation
of Israel (and all the congregation of Israel stood),
15 (Lk 1:68; 1Ch 29:10) and he said,
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father
David and has with His hand fulfilled His word, saying,
16 (1Sa 16:1; Dt 12:11) 'Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel
out of Egypt, I chose no city from any tribe of Israel to build a house
where My name might be praised, but I chose David to be over
My people Israel.'
17 (2Sa 7:2-3) "My father David had it in mind to build a house for the name
of the Lord God of Israel.
18 The Lord said to my father David, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build
a house for My name, you had good intentions.
19 (2Sa 7:5; 7:12-13) Nevertheless, you shall not build the house,
but your son who will come out of your loins,
he shall build the house for My name.'
20 (1Ch 28:5-6) "The Lord has fulfilled His word that He spoke,
and I have been elevated to the position of my father David,
to sit on the throne of Israel as the Lord promised, and have built a house
for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
21 (Dt 31:26; 1Ki 8:9) I have set a place there for the ark, which houses
the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers
when He brought them out of the land of Egypt."
12 Then spake Solomon,
The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee
to abide in for ever.
14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation
of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)
15 and he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his
mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt,
I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house,
that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name
of the LORD God of Israel.
18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart
to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come
forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
20 And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up
in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD
promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the
LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of
Egypt.

2 Chronicles 6
1 (Ex 20:21; 1Ki 8:12-50) Then Solomon said, "The Lord has said
that He would dwell in the dark cloud.
2 But I have built for You an exalted house,
even a habitation where You can continually dwell."
Solomon's Speech
3 (1Ki 8:14) Then the king turned his face around,
and he blessed the entire assembly of Israel while
all the assembly of Israel was standing before him.
4 And he said:
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel who spoke with David
my father and fulfilled His promise saying,
5 'Since the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt,
I did not choose any city from among the tribes of Israel to build
a house for My name to dwell there, nor did I select a man
to be the leader over My people Israel;
6 (1Ch 28:4; 2Ch 12:13) but I have chosen Jerusalem for
My name to dwell there, and I have selected David
to be over My people Israel.'
7 (1Ki 5:3; 1Ch 17:1) "And it was in the heart of David my father
to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
8 But the Lord said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart
to build a house for My name, you did well because
of what was in your heart;
9 only you will not be the one to build the house. For your son, who will be
born to you, he will build a house for My name.'
10 "The Lord has fulfilled the word that He spoke. For I have risen up in
the place of David my father and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord
spoke, and I will build the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
11 (2Ch 5:10; 5:7) And there I have set the ark, in which is the covenant
of the Lord that He made with the children of Israel."
1 Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick
darkness.
2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy
dwelling for ever.
3 And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel:
and all the congregation of Israel stood.
4 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands
fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,
5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt
I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that
my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people
Israel:
6 but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen
David to be over my people Israel.
7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name
of the LORD God of Israel.
8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart
to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
9 notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come
forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
10 The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am
risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel,
as the LORD promised, and have built the house
for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
11 And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD,
that he made with the children of Israel.

Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
2Ch 6:12-40
22 (Ezr 9:5; Ex 9:33) Then Solomon stood in front of the altar of the Lord
in the presence of all the congregation of Israel and spread his hands
toward heaven.
23 (Dt 7:9; 2Sa 7:22) and he said,
"Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above
or on earth below who keeps covenant and mercy with Your servants
who walk before You with all their hearts,
24 (1Ki 8:15) who have kept what You promised Your servant David my father.
You spoke also with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand,
as it is this day.
25 (1Ki 2:4) "Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised
Your servant David my father, saying, 'You will not fail to have a man sit
before Me on the throne of Israel, so long as your sons take heed
to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.'
26 Now, O God of Israel, let Your word, I pray, be fulfilled,
which You spoke to Your servant David my father.
27 (Jer 23:24; 2Ch 2:6; Isa 66:1) "But will God indeed dwell on the earth?
See, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You.
How much less can this house that I have built?
28 Yet give consideration to the prayer of Your servant
and to his supplication, O Lord my God; listen to the cry
and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today,
29 (Dt 12:11; Ne 1:6) that Your eyes may be upon this house night
and day, even toward the place of which You have said,
'My name shall be there,' that You may listen to the prayer
which Your servant shall make toward this place.
30 (1Ki 8:34; 8:36) Please listen to the supplication of Your servant
and of Your people Israel when they pray toward this place.
May You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place,
and when You hear, forgive.
31 (Ex 22:8-11) "If any man sins against his neighbor, and an oath
be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath comes
before Your altar in this house,
32 (Dt 25:1) then may You hear in heaven and act and judge
Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way
on his own head, and justifying the righteous,
giving him according to his righteousness.
33 (Lev 26:17; Dt 28:25) "When Your people Israel are defeated
by their enemies, because they have sinned against You,
and they turn back to You and call upon Your name and pray
and make supplication to You in this house,
34 then may You hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your people
Israel and bring them again to the land which You gave to their fathers.
35 (Lev 26:19; Dt 11:17) "When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain,
because they have sinned against You, if they pray toward this place
and call upon Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them,
36 (1Sa 12:23; Ps 27:11) then may You hear in heaven
and forgive the sin of Your servants and Your people Israel,
that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk
and give rain upon Your land which You have given
to Your people as an inheritance.
37 (Lev 26:16; Dt 28:21-22) "When there is famine in the land,
if there is plague, blight, mildew, locust, or grasshopper;
if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities;
whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;
38 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone,
or by all Your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart,
and spreading his hands toward this house;
39 (1Sa 16:7; 1Ch 28:9) then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive,
and act, and render to everyone according to all his ways, whose hearts
You know-for only You know the hearts of the sons of men=
40 (Ps 130:4) so that they may fear You all the days that they live
in the land that You gave to our fathers.
41 (1Ki 10:1–2) "Also concerning the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel
and comes from a far country for Your name's sake
42 (Dt 3:24) (for they will hear of Your great name and of Your strong hand
and of Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this house,
43 (1Sa 17:46; Ps 102:15) may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place,
and do all that the foreigner asks of You, so all people of the earth
will know Your name, to fear You as Your people Israel do,
and that they may know that this house, which I have built,
is called by Your name.
44 "If Your people go out to battle against their enemy
wherever You send them, and they pray to the Lord toward
the city which You have chosen and toward the house that
I have built for Your name,
45 then may You hear their prayer and supplication in heaven
and maintain their cause.
46 (Ecc 7:20; Pr 20:9; Lev 26:34-39) "If they sin against You
(for there is no man who does not sin),
and You get angry with them and hand them over to the enemy
so that they are carried away as captives to the land of the enemy,
ar or near,
47 (Ps 106:6; Ezr 9:6-7) yet when they come to their senses
while in the land where they were carried captives and repent
and make supplication to You, saying,
'We have sinned and have acted perversely and have committed wickedness,'
48 (Da 6:10; Dt 4:29) and so return to You with all their hearts
and with all their souls in the land of their enemies, who carried them away
as captives, and pray to You toward their land,which You gave
to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the house
which I have built for Your name,
49 then may You hear their prayers and supplications in heaven,
Your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
50 (Ps 106:46; 2Ch 30:9) and forgive Your people who have sinned against
You and all their transgressions which they committed against You
and grant them compassion before those who carried them away as captives,
so they will have compassion on them.
51 (Dt 4:20; Jer 11:4) For they are Your people and Your inheritance
whom You brought forth out of Egypt from the midst of the furnace of iron.
52 (1Ki 8:29) "Let Your eyes be open to the supplication of Your servant
and to the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them regarding
all for which they call upon You.
53 (Ex 19:5-6; Dt 32:9) For You did call them out from among all the people
of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by the hand of Moses
Your servant when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God."
Solomon's Prayer
22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all
the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
23 and he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven
above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants
that walk before thee with all their heart:
24 who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him:
thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as
it is this day.
25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father
that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight
to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way,
that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified,
which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven
of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer,
which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
29 that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward
the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest
hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people
Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven
thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him
to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:
32 then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning
the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous,
to give him according to his righteousness.
33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have
sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name,
and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
34 then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and
bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned
against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn
from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
36 then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy
people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk,
and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an
inheritance.
37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew,
locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land
of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;
38 what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy
people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart,
and spread forth his hands toward this house:
39 then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and
give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest;
(for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
40 that they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which
thou gavest unto our fathers.
41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but
cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;
42 (for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and
of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;
43 hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that
the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know
thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know
that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever
thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which
thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:
45 then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication,
and maintain their cause.
46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and
thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry
them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
47 yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried
captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that
carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we
have committed wickedness;
48 and so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul,
in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto
thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which
thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
49 then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven
thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
50 and forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their
transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them
compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion
on them:
51 for they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth
out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
52 that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto
the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they
call for unto thee.
53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be
thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant,
when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.

Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
1Ki 8:22-53; Ps 132:8-10
12 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord before all the assembly
of Israel and spread out his hands.
13 (1Ki 8:54; Ne 8:4) For Solomon made a bronze platform and set it

A nursery owner set out to sell peach trees. She considered various
approaches. Should she line up leafy saplings in burlap sacks in a beautiful
display? Should she create a colorful catalog picturing peach trees in various
seasons of growth? At last she realized what really sells a peach tree. It's
the peach it produces: sweet-smelling, deep orange, and fuzzy-skinned. The best
way to sell a peach tree is to pluck a ripe peach, cut it open until the juice
dribbles down your arm, and hand a slice to a customer. When they taste the
fruit, they want the tree.
God reveals Himself in a wrapper of spiritual fruit in His followers: love,
joy, peace, forbearance (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23). When believers in Jesus
exhibit such fruit, others will want that fruit as well, and, therefore, will
seek the Source of the fruit that’s so attractive.
Fruit is the external result of an internal relationship—the influence of the
Holy Spirit in our lives. Fruit is the dressing that beckons others to know the
God we represent. Like the bright peaches standing out against the green leaves
of a tree, the fruit of the Spirit announces to a starving world, "Here is
food! Here is life! Come and find a way out of exhaustion and discouragement.
Come and meet God!"

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 7 - The Great Exchange
2 Cor 5:21 - God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
People were talking ; the gossip lines were busy day and night.
Andrea, a Bible study leader and pillar of the church, had been
accused of indiscretion with a married man, another member
of the congregation. The rumours were proven untrue,
but that hardly mattered anymore. The damage was done.
"It's just not far," Andrea said. " It was all so unnecessary.
And now, even though I've done nothing wrong, my relationship
with that church will never be the same again."
We all know what pain is caused by undeserved accusation,
rejection, and misunderstanding. Sometimes, when the smoke clears,
irreparable damage has been done, even when no sin has occurred.
We can understand the torment that comes when we've sinned,
but when we've done nothing wrong, the injustice seem unbearable.
Jesus knew what it was to suffer unjustly. He had never sinned at all,
yet he 'became sin' for us. He gave himself in an outrageous exchange:
he took our sin and gave us his righteousness.
Living in this exchange does not mean, of course, that we will be exempt
from pain, that we will never again suffer unjustly or be subject
to rejection. But in Christ, we are declared righteous before God,
just as Jesus himself is righteous. And as we submit
to the Holy Spirit's work in us, we become righteous ,
obeying him and growing in grace. Christ endured rejection
for us so that we might live in him.
Application
1. Have I ever suffered unjustly or been rejected by someone without cause?
2. How can this verse, coupled with my own experience give me a greater
depth of appreciation of what Christ suffered for me?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

The Ark Brought to the Temple
2Ch 5:2-6:11
1 (2Ch 5:2-10; 2Sa 6:12-17) Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel
and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children
of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, so that they could ensure
that the ark of the covenant of the Lord would be brought
out of the City of David in Zion.
2 (Lev 23:34; 2Ch 7:8-10) All the men of Israel assembled themselves
before King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim,
which is the seventh month.
3 (Dt 31:9; Jos 3:6) All the elders of Israel came,
and the priests carried the ark.
4 (1Ki 3:4; 2Ch 1:3) The priests and Levites brought up the ark of the Lord,
the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy implements that were
in the tabernacle.
5 (2Sa 6:13) King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were
assembled before him stood together in front of the ark,
sacrificing so many sheep and oxen
that they could not be told or numbered.
6 (2Sa 6:17; 1Ki 6:19) The priests brought in the ark of the covenant
of the Lord to its place in the inner sanctuary of the house,
to the Most Holy Place under the wings of the cherubim.
7 For the cherubim spread forth their two wings over the place
of the ark and covered the ark and the poles from above.
8 (Ex 25:13-15; 37:4-5) The poles were so long that the ends of the poles
could be seen out in the holy place in front of the inner sanctuary,
but they could not be seen from outside, and they are there to this day.
9 (Ex 25:21; 40:20; Heb 9:4) There was nothing in the ark except
for the two tablets of stone that Moses put there at Horeb
when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel
after they had come out of the land of Egypt.
10 (Ex 40:34-35; 2Ch 7:1-2) And when the priests came out of the holy place,
the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 so that the priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud,
for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

4 And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the
congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle,
even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled
unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that
could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his
place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under
the wings of the cherubims.
7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark,
and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in
the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there
they are unto this day.
9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put
there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel,
when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place,
that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
11 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud:
for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
2 Chronicles 5
1 (1Ki 7:51) Thus all the work that Solomon did for the house of the Lord
was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father
had dedicated: the silver and the gold and all the furnishings
in the treasury of the house of God.
The Ark Brought to the Temple
1Ki 8:1-21
2 (2Sa 6:12; 2Ch 1:4) Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel
and all the heads of the tribes and the leaders of the houses of the fathers
among the sons of Israel to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord
from the City of David, which is Zion.
3 (1Ki 8:2; 2Ch 7:8-10) And all the men of Israel were assembled
before the king at the feast, which is the seventh month.
Tishri or Ethanim in the Hebrew calendar.
4 (Jos 3:6; 1Ki 8:3) All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites
carried the ark.
5Then they brought up the ark, and the tent of meeting,
and all the holy vessels that were in the tent.
So the Levitical priests brought them up.
6 And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel,
who were assembled with him before the ark,
were sacrificing so many sheep and oxen
that they could not be counted or numbered.
7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place-
to the inner sanctuary of the temple, into the Most Holy Place,
under the wings of the cherubim.
8 Then the cherubim wings were spread out over the place of the ark
so that the cherubim covered the ark and its poles.
9 (1Ki 8:8-9) The poles were extended so that the ends of the poles
of the ark were seen in front of the Most Holy Place,
but they were not seen outside; and they are still there to this day.
10 (Heb 9:4; Dt 10:2-5) In the ark there was nothing except the two tablets
that Moses had given at Mount Horeb where the Lord made a covenant
with the sons of Israel when they went out from Egypt.
11 When the priests came out from the Most Holy Place-for all the priests who
were present had consecrated themselves, without keeping separate divisions-
12 (1Ch 15:24; 6:33) and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman,
and Jeduthun, with their sons and relatives, all clothed in fine linen,
with cymbals, harps, and lyres, stood to the east of the altar,
and with them one hundred and twenty priests
who were sounding with trumpets,
13 (2Ch 7:3; Ezr 3:11) it happened, when the trumpet players and singers
made one sound to praise and give thanks to the Lord,
and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals
and all the instruments of music and praised the Lord saying,
"For He is good
and His mercy endures forever,"
that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud.
14 (Ex 40:35; 2Ch 7:2) And the priests were not able to stand in order
to serve because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled
the house of God.

1 Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished:
and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated;
and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among
the treasures of the house of God.
The Dedication
2 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the

13 it came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make
one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted
up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and
praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that
then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
14 so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud:
for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

12 (Ps 97:2; Lev 16:2) Then Solomon spoke, saying,
"The Lord said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 (2Sa 7:13; Ex 15:17) I have surely built You a house to dwell in,
a settled place for You to abide in forever."
14 (2Sa 6:18) Then the king turned around and blessed all the congregation
of Israel (and all the congregation of Israel stood),
15 (Lk 1:68; 1Ch 29:10) and he said,
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father
David and has with His hand fulfilled His word, saying,
16 (1Sa 16:1; Dt 12:11) 'Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel
out of Egypt, I chose no city from any tribe of Israel to build a house
where My name might be praised, but I chose David to be over
My people Israel.'
17 (2Sa 7:2-3) "My father David had it in mind to build a house for the name
of the Lord God of Israel.
18 The Lord said to my father David, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build
a house for My name, you had good intentions.
19 (2Sa 7:5; 7:12-13) Nevertheless, you shall not build the house,
but your son who will come out of your loins,
he shall build the house for My name.'
20 (1Ch 28:5-6) "The Lord has fulfilled His word that He spoke,
and I have been elevated to the position of my father David,
to sit on the throne of Israel as the Lord promised, and have built a house
for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
21 (Dt 31:26; 1Ki 8:9) I have set a place there for the ark, which houses
the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers
when He brought them out of the land of Egypt."
12 Then spake Solomon,
The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee
to abide in for ever.
14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation
of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)
15 and he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his
mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt,
I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house,
that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name
of the LORD God of Israel.
18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart
to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come
forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
20 And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up
in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD
promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the
LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of
Egypt.
2 Chronicles 6:1-11
2 Chronicles 6
1 (Ex 20:21; 1Ki 8:12-50) Then Solomon said, "The Lord has said
that He would dwell in the dark cloud.
2 But I have built for You an exalted house,
even a habitation where You can continually dwell."
Solomon's Speech
3 (1Ki 8:14) Then the king turned his face around,
and he blessed the entire assembly of Israel while
all the assembly of Israel was standing before him.
4 And he said:
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel who spoke with David
my father and fulfilled His promise saying,
5 'Since the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt,
I did not choose any city from among the tribes of Israel to build
a house for My name to dwell there, nor did I select a man
to be the leader over My people Israel;
6 (1Ch 28:4; 2Ch 12:13) but I have chosen Jerusalem for
My name to dwell there, and I have selected David
to be over My people Israel.'
7 (1Ki 5:3; 1Ch 17:1) "And it was in the heart of David my father
to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
8 But the Lord said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart
to build a house for My name, you did well because
of what was in your heart;
9 only you will not be the one to build the house. For your son, who will be
born to you, he will build a house for My name.'
10 "The Lord has fulfilled the word that He spoke. For I have risen up in
the place of David my father and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord
spoke, and I will build the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
11 (2Ch 5:10; 5:7) And there I have set the ark, in which is the covenant
of the Lord that He made with the children of Israel."
1 Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick
darkness.
2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy
dwelling for ever.
3 And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel:
and all the congregation of Israel stood.
4 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands
fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,
5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt
I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that
my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people
Israel:
6 but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen
David to be over my people Israel.
7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name
of the LORD God of Israel.
8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart
to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
9 notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come
forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
10 The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am
risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel,
as the LORD promised, and have built the house
for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
11 And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD,
that he made with the children of Israel.

Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
2Ch 6:12-40
22 (Ezr 9:5; Ex 9:33) Then Solomon stood in front of the altar of the Lord
in the presence of all the congregation of Israel and spread his hands
toward heaven.
23 (Dt 7:9; 2Sa 7:22) and he said,
"Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above
or on earth below who keeps covenant and mercy with Your servants
who walk before You with all their hearts,
24 (1Ki 8:15) who have kept what You promised Your servant David my father.
You spoke also with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand,
as it is this day.
25 (1Ki 2:4) "Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised
Your servant David my father, saying, 'You will not fail to have a man sit
before Me on the throne of Israel, so long as your sons take heed
to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.'
26 Now, O God of Israel, let Your word, I pray, be fulfilled,
which You spoke to Your servant David my father.
27 (Jer 23:24; 2Ch 2:6; Isa 66:1) "But will God indeed dwell on the earth?
See, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You.
How much less can this house that I have built?
28 Yet give consideration to the prayer of Your servant
and to his supplication, O Lord my God; listen to the cry
and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today,
29 (Dt 12:11; Ne 1:6) that Your eyes may be upon this house night
and day, even toward the place of which You have said,
'My name shall be there,' that You may listen to the prayer
which Your servant shall make toward this place.
30 (1Ki 8:34; 8:36) Please listen to the supplication of Your servant
and of Your people Israel when they pray toward this place.
May You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place,
and when You hear, forgive.
31 (Ex 22:8-11) "If any man sins against his neighbor, and an oath
be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath comes
before Your altar in this house,
32 (Dt 25:1) then may You hear in heaven and act and judge
Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way
on his own head, and justifying the righteous,
giving him according to his righteousness.
33 (Lev 26:17; Dt 28:25) "When Your people Israel are defeated
by their enemies, because they have sinned against You,
and they turn back to You and call upon Your name and pray
and make supplication to You in this house,
34 then may You hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your people
Israel and bring them again to the land which You gave to their fathers.
35 (Lev 26:19; Dt 11:17) "When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain,
because they have sinned against You, if they pray toward this place
and call upon Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them,
36 (1Sa 12:23; Ps 27:11) then may You hear in heaven
and forgive the sin of Your servants and Your people Israel,
that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk
and give rain upon Your land which You have given
to Your people as an inheritance.
37 (Lev 26:16; Dt 28:21-22) "When there is famine in the land,
if there is plague, blight, mildew, locust, or grasshopper;
if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities;
whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;
38 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone,
or by all Your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart,
and spreading his hands toward this house;
39 (1Sa 16:7; 1Ch 28:9) then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive,
and act, and render to everyone according to all his ways, whose hearts
You know-for only You know the hearts of the sons of men=
40 (Ps 130:4) so that they may fear You all the days that they live
in the land that You gave to our fathers.
41 (1Ki 10:1–2) "Also concerning the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel
and comes from a far country for Your name's sake
42 (Dt 3:24) (for they will hear of Your great name and of Your strong hand
and of Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this house,
43 (1Sa 17:46; Ps 102:15) may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place,
and do all that the foreigner asks of You, so all people of the earth
will know Your name, to fear You as Your people Israel do,
and that they may know that this house, which I have built,
is called by Your name.
44 "If Your people go out to battle against their enemy
wherever You send them, and they pray to the Lord toward
the city which You have chosen and toward the house that
I have built for Your name,
45 then may You hear their prayer and supplication in heaven
and maintain their cause.
46 (Ecc 7:20; Pr 20:9; Lev 26:34-39) "If they sin against You
(for there is no man who does not sin),
and You get angry with them and hand them over to the enemy
so that they are carried away as captives to the land of the enemy,
ar or near,
47 (Ps 106:6; Ezr 9:6-7) yet when they come to their senses
while in the land where they were carried captives and repent
and make supplication to You, saying,
'We have sinned and have acted perversely and have committed wickedness,'
48 (Da 6:10; Dt 4:29) and so return to You with all their hearts
and with all their souls in the land of their enemies, who carried them away
as captives, and pray to You toward their land,which You gave
to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the house
which I have built for Your name,
49 then may You hear their prayers and supplications in heaven,
Your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
50 (Ps 106:46; 2Ch 30:9) and forgive Your people who have sinned against
You and all their transgressions which they committed against You
and grant them compassion before those who carried them away as captives,
so they will have compassion on them.
51 (Dt 4:20; Jer 11:4) For they are Your people and Your inheritance
whom You brought forth out of Egypt from the midst of the furnace of iron.
52 (1Ki 8:29) "Let Your eyes be open to the supplication of Your servant
and to the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them regarding
all for which they call upon You.
53 (Ex 19:5-6; Dt 32:9) For You did call them out from among all the people
of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by the hand of Moses
Your servant when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God."
Solomon's Prayer
22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all
the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
23 and he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven
above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants
that walk before thee with all their heart:
24 who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him:
thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as
it is this day.
25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father
that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight
to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way,
that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified,
which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven
of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer,
which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
29 that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward
the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest
hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people
Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven
thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him
to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:
32 then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning
the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous,
to give him according to his righteousness.
33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have
sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name,
and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
34 then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and
bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned
against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn
from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
36 then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy
people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk,
and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an
inheritance.
37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew,
locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land
of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;
38 what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy
people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart,
and spread forth his hands toward this house:
39 then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and
give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest;
(for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
40 that they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which
thou gavest unto our fathers.
41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but
cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;
42 (for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and
of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;
43 hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that
the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know
thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know
that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever
thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which
thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:
45 then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication,
and maintain their cause.
46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and
thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry
them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
47 yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried
captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that
carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we
have committed wickedness;
48 and so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul,
in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto
thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which
thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
49 then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven
thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
50 and forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their
transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them
compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion
on them:
51 for they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth
out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
52 that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto
the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they
call for unto thee.
53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be
thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant,
when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
2 Chronicles 6:12-42
Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
1Ki 8:22-53; Ps 132:8-10
12 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord before all the assembly
of Israel and spread out his hands.
13 (1Ki 8:54; Ne 8:4) For Solomon made a bronze platform and set it
in the midst of the enclosure. It was five cubits in length, five cubits
in width, and three cubits in height.
[About 7 1/2 feet long and wide, and 41/2 feet high;
or 2.3 meters long and wide, and 1.4 meters high. ]
And he stood on it and knelt down before all the assembly of Israel
and spread out his hands to heaven.

A nursery owner set out to sell peach trees. She considered various
approaches. Should she line up leafy saplings in burlap sacks in a beautiful
display? Should she create a colorful catalog picturing peach trees in various
seasons of growth? At last she realized what really sells a peach tree. It's
the peach it produces: sweet-smelling, deep orange, and fuzzy-skinned. The best
way to sell a peach tree is to pluck a ripe peach, cut it open until the juice
dribbles down your arm, and hand a slice to a customer. When they taste the
fruit, they want the tree.
God reveals Himself in a wrapper of spiritual fruit in His followers: love,
joy, peace, forbearance (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23). When believers in Jesus
exhibit such fruit, others will want that fruit as well, and, therefore, will
seek the Source of the fruit that’s so attractive.
Fruit is the external result of an internal relationship—the influence of the
Holy Spirit in our lives. Fruit is the dressing that beckons others to know the
God we represent. Like the bright peaches standing out against the green leaves
of a tree, the fruit of the Spirit announces to a starving world, "Here is
food! Here is life! Come and find a way out of exhaustion and discouragement.
Come and meet God!"

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 7 - The Great Exchange
2 Cor 5:21 - God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
People were talking ; the gossip lines were busy day and night.
Andrea, a Bible study leader and pillar of the church, had been
accused of indiscretion with a married man, another member
of the congregation. The rumours were proven untrue,
but that hardly mattered anymore. The damage was done.
"It's just not far," Andrea said. " It was all so unnecessary.
And now, even though I've done nothing wrong, my relationship
with that church will never be the same again."
We all know what pain is caused by undeserved accusation,
rejection, and misunderstanding. Sometimes, when the smoke clears,
irreparable damage has been done, even when no sin has occurred.
We can understand the torment that comes when we've sinned,
but when we've done nothing wrong, the injustice seem unbearable.
Jesus knew what it was to suffer unjustly. He had never sinned at all,
yet he 'became sin' for us. He gave himself in an outrageous exchange:
he took our sin and gave us his righteousness.
Living in this exchange does not mean, of course, that we will be exempt
from pain, that we will never again suffer unjustly or be subject
to rejection. But in Christ, we are declared righteous before God,
just as Jesus himself is righteous. And as we submit
to the Holy Spirit's work in us, we become righteous ,
obeying him and growing in grace. Christ endured rejection
for us so that we might live in him.
Application
1. Have I ever suffered unjustly or been rejected by someone without cause?
2. How can this verse, coupled with my own experience give me a greater
depth of appreciation of what Christ suffered for me?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.
