1 CHRONICLES 3
The Generations of David
(2Sa 3:2-5; 5:14-16; 1Ch 14:4-7)
1 (2Sa 3:2-5; Jos 15:56) Now these were the sons of David, who were born
to him in Hebron:
The firstborn was Amnon by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;
the second, Daniel by Abigail the Carmelitess;
2 the third was Absalom the son of Maakah, the daughter of Talmai
king of Geshur;
the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3 the fifth, Shephatiah by Abital;
the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife.
4 (2Sa 2:11; 5:4-5) Six sons were born to him in Hebron,
and he reigned there seven years and six months.
He also reigned 37 years in Jerusalem.
5 (2Sa 11:3; 12:24-25) Now these were born to him in Jerusalem:
Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, four sons by Bathsheba
the daughter of Ammiel;
6 (2Sa 5:15; 1Ch 14:5) then Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,
7 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8 (1Ch 14:7) Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine.
9 These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines,
and Tamar their sister.
The Kings of Judah
10 (1Ki 11:43; 14:31-15:1) Solomon’s son was Rehoboam;
Abijah was his son,
Asa his son,
Jehoshaphat his son,
11( 2Ki 8:24; 11:21) Joram [Jehoram in 2Ki 1:17; 8:16]. his son,
Ahaziah his son,
Joash his son,
12 (2Ki 14:1; 14:21) Amaziah his son,
Azariah his son,
Jotham his son,
13 (2Ki 16:1; 18:1) Ahaz his son,
Hezekiah his son,
Manasseh his son,
14 (2Ki 23:30; 21:19)Amon his son,
and Josiah his son.
15 The sons of Josiah were
the firstborn Johanan,
the second Jehoiakim,
the third Zedekiah,
and the fourth Shallum.
16 (2Ki 24:6; Mt 1:11) The sons of Jehoiakim were
Jeconiah his son
and Zedekiah his son.
**The Post-Exilic Royal Line**
17 (Ezr 3:2; 5:2) The sons of Jeconiah were Assir,
Shealtiel his son,
18 Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19 (Ezr 2:2; 3:2) The sons of Pedaiah were
Zerubbabel and Shimei,
and the sons of Zerubbabel were
Meshullam and Hananiah,
and Shelomith was their sister;
20 and Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed, five.
21 The sons of Hananiah were
Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan,
the sons of Obadiah, and the sons of Shekaniah.
22 (Ezr 8:2) The sons of Shekaniah were
Shemaiah and the sons of Shemaiah:
Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat, six in all.
23 The sons of Neariah were
Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam, three in all.
24 The sons of Elioenai were
Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani, seven in all.

Other Sons of Judah
1 (Ge 46:12; 38:29) The sons of Judah were
Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath,
and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad.
These are the families of the Zorathites.
3 These were the sons of the father of Etam:
Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. The name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.
4 (1Ch 2:50; 4:18) Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah.
These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 (1Ch 2:24) Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives: Helah and Naarah.
6Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari.

7 The sons of Helah were
Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan.
8 Koz became the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and the families of Aharhel
the son of Harum.
9 (Ge 34:19) Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers,
and his mother called his name Jabez, saying,
"Because I bore him in hardship."
10 Then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh, that You would indeed
bless me and enlarge my territory, that Your hand might be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not bring me hardship!"
So God granted what he asked.
11 Kelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir,
who was the father of Eshton.
12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah,
and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These were the men of Rekah.
13 (Jos 15:17; Jdg 1:13) The sons of Kenaz were
Othniel and Seraiah,
and the sons of Othniel were
Hathath and Meonothai.
14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah,
and Seraiah became the father of Joab,
the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.
15 (Nu 13:6) The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were
Iru, Elah, and Naam,
and the son of Elah was
Kenaz.
16 The sons of Jehallelel were
Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 The sons of Ezrah were
Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon, and Mered’s wife bore Miriam,
Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 (1Ch 4:4) His Judean wife bore Jered the father of Gedor,
Heber the father of Soko, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.
So these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.
19 (Jos 15:44) The sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were
the father of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maakathite.
20 The sons of Shimon were
Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon.
And the sons of Ishi were
Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 (Ge 38:5; 46:12) The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were
Er the father of Lekah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, the families
of the house of workers of fine linen at Beth Ashbea;
22 Jokim, the men of Kozeba, Joash, Saraph, who was lord in Moab,
and Jashubi Lehem (these records are ancient).
23 They were the potters, those dwelling at Netaim and Gederah
(they dwelt there with the king for his work).
Sons of Simeon
Jos 19:2-10
24 (Ge 46:10) The sons of Simeon were
Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul,
25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.
26 The sons of Mishma were
Hammuel his son, Zakkur his son, and Shimei his son.
27 (Nu 2:4; 2:13) Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters,
but his brothers did not have many sons, nor did all their family
multiply as much as the sons of Judah.
28 (Jos 19:2-3) Now they dwelt in Beersheba, Moladah, and Hazar Shual
29 (Jos 19:3,4) as well as in Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, 30Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,
31 (Jos 19:5-6) Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and Shaaraim.
These were their cities until the reign of David.
32 Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan,
five cities in all,
33 (Jos 19:8) and all the villages that were around these cities
as far as Baal.
Such are their inhabited cities, and those registered to them were
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;
35 Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;
36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah;
37 Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah,
the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.
38 These mentioned by name were leaders in their families,
and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
39 (Jos 15:58; 1Ch 4:4) They went to the entrance of Gedor,
as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks
40 (Jdg 18:7-10) There they found rich, good pasture,
and the land was wide, quiet, and peaceful;
for former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.
41 In the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, those written by name came
and attacked their tents, along with the Meunites who were found there,
and utterly destroyed them until this day. Then they dwelt there
in their place because there was pasture for their flocks there.
42 (Ge 36:8-9) Now some of them, namely five hundred men
from the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah,
Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their captains.
43 (1Sa 30:17; 15:7-8) Then they struck down the rest of the Amalekites
who had escaped. So they have dwelt there until this day.

Sons of Reuben
1 (Ge 29:32; 35:22) Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel
(for he was the firstborn, but since he defiled his father's bed,
his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel,
so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;
2 (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:6; Ge 49:8-10 ) though Judah prevailed
over his brothers and a ruler came from him,
yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),
3 (Ge 46:9; Ex 6:14; Nu 26:5-9) the sons of Reuben the firstborn
of Israel were Hanok, Pallu, Hezron, and Karmi.
4 The sons of Joel were
Shemaiah his son, Gog his son,
Shimei his son,
5 Micah his son,
Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 (1Ch 5:26) and Beerah his son, whom
Tiglath--Pileser the king of Assyria led into exile.
He was a leader of the Reubenites.
7 (1Ch 5:1) 7His brothers according to their families
by the registration of their generations were
Jeiel, the first, and Zechariah;
8 (Nu 32:34; 32:38) Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel,
who dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo and Baal Meon.
9 (Jos 22:8-9) And he dwelt toward the east as far as the entrance
to the wilderness from the Euphrates,
for their cattle were abundant in the land of Gilead.
10 Now in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites,
who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents over
all the eastern plains of Gilead.
Sons of Gad
11 (Jos 13:11; 13:24-28) The sons of Gad dwelt opposite
them in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah.
12 Joel was the first, Shapham the second,
with Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 Their brothers of their father's house were
Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia, and Eber, seven in all.
14 These are the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah,
the sonof Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai,
the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni,
was the head of their father's house.
16 (1Ch 27:29; SS 2:1) They dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns,
and in all the outlands of Sharon to the edge of their borders.
17 (2Ki 14:16; 14:28) All of them were registered by genealogy in the days
of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 (Nu 1:3) The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites,
and the half-tribe of Manasseh numbered 44760 valiant men,
men able to bear shield and sword, to shoot with a bow,
and who were skillful in battle, who went to war.
19 (Ge 25:15; 1Ch 1:31) They made war with the Hagrites, namely Jetur,
Naphish, and Nodab.
20 (2Ch 18:31; Ps 20:7-8) They were helped against them,
and the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand,
for they cried to God in the battle, and He heard their prayer
because they trusted in Him.
21 They captured their livestock: fifty thousand of their camels,
two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys,
and one hundred thousand men.
22 (2Ki 15:29; 17:6) So many fell slain, because the war was of God.
And they dwelt in their place until the exile.
The Half-Tribe of Manasseh
23 (Dt 3:8-9; SS 4:8) The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh also dwelt
in the land. They increased from Bashan as far as Baal Hermon and Senir,
even to Mount Hermon.
24 These were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel,
Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, men of reputation,
and heads of their fathers' houses.
25 (Ex 34:15) They were unfaithful to the God of their fathers
and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land,
whom God had wiped out before them.
26 (2Ki 15:19; 17:6) So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul
the king of Assyria, even the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria,
and he led the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh
into exile and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan
to this day.

Daniel 1:11–16;2:19–20
11 Then Daniel said to the steward, whom the master of the officials had
set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
12 (Da 1:16) "Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us
vegetables to eat and water to drink.
13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before you, and the countenance
of the youths who eat of the portion of the king's food. And as you see,
deal with your servants."
14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.
15 (Ex 23:25; Pr 10:22) At the end of ten days their countenances appeared
fairer and fatter than all the youths who ate the portion of the king's food.
16 (Da 1:12) Thus the guard continued to take away the portion of their
food and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
19 (Nu 12:6; Job 33:15-16) Then the secret was revealed to Daniel
in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 (Ps 113:2; 115:18) Daniel answered and said:
"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
for wisdom and might are His."
On her college volleyball team, my granddaughter learned a winning principle.
When the ball came her way, no matter what, she could "better the ball."
She could make a play that left her teammates in a better situation
-without throwing tantrums, blaming, or making excuses.
Always make the situation better.
That was Daniel's response when he and three Hebrew friends
were taken into captivity by Babylon's king Nebuchadnezzar.
Although they were given pagan names and ordered to take
three years of "training" in the enemy's palace, Daniel didn't rage.
Instead, he asked permission not to defile himself in God's sight by eating
the king's rich food and wine. As this intriguing Bible story shows,
after consuming nothing but vegetables and water for ten days (Daniel 1:12),
Daniel and his friends "looked healthier and better nourished than any of the
young men who ate the royal food" (v. 15).
Another time, Nebuchadnezzar threatened to kill Daniel and all palace wise
men if they couldn't repeat the king's disturbing dream and interpret it.
Again, Daniel didn't panic, but sought mercy "from the God of heaven,"
and the mystery was revealed to him in a vision (2:19).
As Daniel declared of God, "wisdom and power are his" (v. 20).
Throughout his captivity, Daniel sought God's best despite
the conflicts he faced. In our own troubles, may we follow that example,
making the situation better by taking it to God.

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 7 - The Great Exchange
2 Cor 5:21 - God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
People were talking ; the gossip lines were busy day and night.
Andrea, a Bible study leader and pillar of the church, had been
accused of indiscretion with a married man, another member
of the congregation. The rumours were proven untrue,
but that hardly mattered anymore. The damage was done.
"It's just not far," Andrea said. " It was all so unnecessary.
And now, even though I've done nothing wrong, my relationship
with that church will never be the same again."
We all know what pain is caused by undeserved accusation,
rejection, and misunderstanding. Sometimes, when the smoke clears,
irreparable damage has been done, even when no sin has occurred.
We can understand the torment that comes when we've sinned,
but when we've done nothing wrong, the injustice seem unbearable.
Jesus knew what it was to suffer unjustly. He had never sinned at all,
yet he 'became sin' for us. He gave himself in an outrageous exchange:
he took our sin and gave us his righteousness.
Living in this exchange does not mean, of course, that we will be exempt
from pain, that we will never again suffer unjustly or be subject
to rejection. But in Christ, we are declared righteous before God,
just as Jesus himself is righteous. And as we submit
to the Holy Spirit's work in us, we become righteous ,
obeying him and growing in grace. Christ endured rejection
for us so that we might live in him.
Application
1. Have I ever suffered unjustly or been rejected by someone without cause?
2. How can this verse, coupled with my own expereience give me a greater
depth of appreciation of what Christ suffered for me?

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethinic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipiling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

FROM IRISH IMMIGRANTS TO BANGLADESHIS
JACKSON HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD WELCOMES BENGALI PEOPLE
In the 19th century, desperate Irish immigrants fleeing famine back home
flooded into the Jackson Heights neighborhood in Queens.
Now, many Bangladeshi immigrants call this neighborhood home.
Barbershops promote their prices on signs that mix Bangla and English
and grocers display imports like jackfruit and bitter melon next to Hershey
candy bars while Bangladeshi men drink cha (tea) and gossip on sidewalks
in the evenings.
Most arrived in the last 25 years, seeking a new start and opportunities
for their families through a diversity visa program. They brought their food,
culture, and Islamic religion with them, and now there are an estimated
150 000 of them across New York City.
Many Bangladeshi neighborhood enclaves are in the shadow of church buildings,
but the language and cultural barriers are too great for them to consider
entering the doors. Thankfully, efforts by missionary teams and local
believers over the last decade are bringing the Gospel to these neighborhoods.
Saif was a young Bangladeshi man working in the hotel industry when he met
a local believer on the subway. The man told Saif about Jesus, but he wanted
to know more and met with a Muslim-background believer who led him to faith
in Christ.
Saif is now part of a small house church in his neighborhood comprised
of fellow believers from Muslim backgrounds.
God is at work through people like Saif.
Pray for the Bangladeshi communities of New York City,
many of which have been ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic.
Pray for Kingdom workers, local believers, and churches as they
engage their Bengali neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pray for believers from a Muslim background to "declare the gospel fearlessly"
in NYC and around the world (Eph. 6:20).
20 (2Co 5:20; Ac 28:20) for which I am an ambassador in chains,
that I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

a) Pray that the Lord will open a door for the message for the Gospel

I) Pray for the leaders of Saskatchewan,
that God's Spirit would influence
then to act justly,
serve with integrity

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,
3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good
and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord the prayer of Jabez "Oh, that You would indeed
bless me and enlarge my territory, that Your hand might be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not bring me hardship!"
Pray to the Lord to despair in your journey.
Pray to the Lord to seek Him in unjust suffering.
Pray to the Lord tto know his Promises when he hears your cry for help.
Pray to the Lord to know the Lord in uncertain times.
Pray for Muslims in Manitoba to receive Christ as Saviour .'
Pray for the Bangladeshi communities of New York City,

1 (2Sa 3:2-5; Jos 15:56) Now these were the sons of David, who were born
to him in Hebron:
The firstborn was Amnon by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;
the second, Daniel by Abigail the Carmelitess;
2 the third was Absalom the son of Maakah, the daughter of Talmai
king of Geshur;
the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3 the fifth, Shephatiah by Abital;
the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife.
4 (2Sa 2:11; 5:4-5) Six sons were born to him in Hebron,
and he reigned there seven years and six months.
He also reigned 37 years in Jerusalem.
5 (2Sa 11:3; 12:24-25) Now these were born to him in Jerusalem:
Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, four sons by Bathsheba
the daughter of Ammiel;

9 These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines,

23 The sons of Neariah were
Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam, three in all.

Other Sons of Judah
1 (Ge 46:12; 38:29) The sons of Judah were
Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath,
and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad.
These are the families of the Zorathites.
3 These were the sons of the father of Etam:
Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. The name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.
4 (1Ch 2:50; 4:18) Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah.
These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 (1Ch 2:24) Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives: Helah and Naarah.
6Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari.

7 The sons of Helah were
Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan.
8 Koz became the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and the families of Aharhel
the son of Harum.
9 (Ge 34:19) Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers,
and his mother called his name Jabez, saying,
"Because I bore him in hardship."
10 Then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh, that You would indeed
bless me and enlarge my territory, that Your hand might be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not bring me hardship!"
So God granted what he asked.
11 Kelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir,
who was the father of Eshton.
12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah,
and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These were the men of Rekah.
13 (Jos 15:17; Jdg 1:13) The sons of Kenaz were
Othniel and Seraiah,
and the sons of Othniel were
Hathath and Meonothai.
14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah,
and Seraiah became the father of Joab,
the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.
15 (Nu 13:6) The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were
Iru, Elah, and Naam,
and the son of Elah was
Kenaz.
16 The sons of Jehallelel were
Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 The sons of Ezrah were
Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon, and Mered’s wife bore Miriam,
Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 (1Ch 4:4) His Judean wife bore Jered the father of Gedor,
Heber the father of Soko, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.
So these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.
19 (Jos 15:44) The sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were
the father of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maakathite.
20 The sons of Shimon were
Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon.
And the sons of Ishi were
Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 (Ge 38:5; 46:12) The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were
Er the father of Lekah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, the families
of the house of workers of fine linen at Beth Ashbea;
22 Jokim, the men of Kozeba, Joash, Saraph, who was lord in Moab,
and Jashubi Lehem (these records are ancient).
23 They were the potters, those dwelling at Netaim and Gederah
(they dwelt there with the king for his work).
Sons of Simeon
Jos 19:2-10
24 (Ge 46:10) The sons of Simeon were
Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul,
25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.
26 The sons of Mishma were
Hammuel his son, Zakkur his son, and Shimei his son.
27 (Nu 2:4; 2:13) Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters,
but his brothers did not have many sons, nor did all their family
multiply as much as the sons of Judah.
28 (Jos 19:2-3) Now they dwelt in Beersheba, Moladah, and Hazar Shual
29 (Jos 19:3,4) as well as in Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, 30Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,
31 (Jos 19:5-6) Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and Shaaraim.
These were their cities until the reign of David.
32 Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan,
five cities in all,
33 (Jos 19:8) and all the villages that were around these cities
as far as Baal.
Such are their inhabited cities, and those registered to them were
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;
35 Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;
36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah;
37 Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah,
the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.
38 These mentioned by name were leaders in their families,
and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
39 (Jos 15:58; 1Ch 4:4) They went to the entrance of Gedor,
as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks
40 (Jdg 18:7-10) There they found rich, good pasture,
and the land was wide, quiet, and peaceful;
for former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.
41 In the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, those written by name came
and attacked their tents, along with the Meunites who were found there,
and utterly destroyed them until this day. Then they dwelt there
in their place because there was pasture for their flocks there.
42 (Ge 36:8-9) Now some of them, namely five hundred men
from the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah,
Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their captains.
43 (1Sa 30:17; 15:7-8) Then they struck down the rest of the Amalekites
who had escaped. So they have dwelt there until this day.

Sons of Reuben
1 (Ge 29:32; 35:22) Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel
(for he was the firstborn, but since he defiled his father's bed,
his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel,
so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;
2 (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:6; Ge 49:8-10 ) though Judah prevailed
over his brothers and a ruler came from him,
yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),
3 (Ge 46:9; Ex 6:14; Nu 26:5-9) the sons of Reuben the firstborn
of Israel were Hanok, Pallu, Hezron, and Karmi.
4 The sons of Joel were

6 (1Ch 5:26) and Beerah his son, whom
Tiglath--Pileser the king of Assyria led into exile.
He was a leader of the Reubenites.
7 (1Ch 5:1) 7His brothers according to their families
by the registration of their generations were
Jeiel, the first, and Zechariah;
8 (Nu 32:34; 32:38) Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel,
who dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo and Baal Meon.
9 (Jos 22:8-9) And he dwelt toward the east as far as the entrance
to the wilderness from the Euphrates,
for their cattle were abundant in the land of Gilead.
10 Now in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites,
who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents over
all the eastern plains of Gilead.
Sons of Gad
11 (Jos 13:11; 13:24-28) The sons of Gad dwelt opposite
them in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah.
12 Joel was the first, Shapham the second,
with Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 Their brothers of their father's house were
Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia, and Eber, seven in all.
14 These are the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah,
the sonof Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai,
the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni,
was the head of their father's house.
16 (1Ch 27:29; SS 2:1) They dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns,
and in all the outlands of Sharon to the edge of their borders.
17 (2Ki 14:16; 14:28) All of them were registered by genealogy in the days
of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 (Nu 1:3) The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites,
and the half-tribe of Manasseh numbered 44760 valiant men,
men able to bear shield and sword, to shoot with a bow,
and who were skillful in battle, who went to war.
19 (Ge 25:15; 1Ch 1:31) They made war with the Hagrites, namely Jetur,
Naphish, and Nodab.
20 (2Ch 18:31; Ps 20:7-8) They were helped against them,
and the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand,
for they cried to God in the battle, and He heard their prayer
because they trusted in Him.
21 They captured their livestock: fifty thousand of their camels,
two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys,
and one hundred thousand men.
22 (2Ki 15:29; 17:6) So many fell slain, because the war was of God.
And they dwelt in their place until the exile.
The Half-Tribe of Manasseh
23 (Dt 3:8-9; SS 4:8) The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh also dwelt
in the land. They increased from Bashan as far as Baal Hermon and Senir,
even to Mount Hermon.
24 These were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel,
Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, men of reputation,
and heads of their fathers' houses.
25 (Ex 34:15) They were unfaithful to the God of their fathers
and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land,
whom God had wiped out before them.
26 (2Ki 15:19; 17:6) So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul
the king of Assyria, even the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria,
and he led the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh
into exile and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan
to this day.

Daniel 1:11–16;2:19–20
11 Then Daniel said to the steward, whom the master of the officials had
set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
12 (Da 1:16) "Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us
vegetables to eat and water to drink.
13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before you, and the countenance
of the youths who eat of the portion of the king's food. And as you see,
deal with your servants."
14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.
15 (Ex 23:25; Pr 10:22) At the end of ten days their countenances appeared
fairer and fatter than all the youths who ate the portion of the king's food.
16 (Da 1:12) Thus the guard continued to take away the portion of their
food and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
19 (Nu 12:6; Job 33:15-16) Then the secret was revealed to Daniel
in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 (Ps 113:2; 115:18) Daniel answered and said:
"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
for wisdom and might are His."
On her college volleyball team, my granddaughter learned a winning principle.
When the ball came her way, no matter what, she could "better the ball."
She could make a play that left her teammates in a better situation
-without throwing tantrums, blaming, or making excuses.
Always make the situation better.
That was Daniel's response when he and three Hebrew friends
were taken into captivity by Babylon's king Nebuchadnezzar.
Although they were given pagan names and ordered to take
three years of "training" in the enemy's palace, Daniel didn't rage.
Instead, he asked permission not to defile himself in God's sight by eating
the king's rich food and wine. As this intriguing Bible story shows,
after consuming nothing but vegetables and water for ten days (Daniel 1:12),
Daniel and his friends "looked healthier and better nourished than any of the
young men who ate the royal food" (v. 15).
Another time, Nebuchadnezzar threatened to kill Daniel and all palace wise
men if they couldn't repeat the king's disturbing dream and interpret it.
Again, Daniel didn't panic, but sought mercy "from the God of heaven,"
and the mystery was revealed to him in a vision (2:19).
As Daniel declared of God, "wisdom and power are his" (v. 20).
Throughout his captivity, Daniel sought God's best despite
the conflicts he faced. In our own troubles, may we follow that example,
making the situation better by taking it to God.

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 7 - The Great Exchange
2 Cor 5:21 - God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
People were talking ; the gossip lines were busy day and night.
Andrea, a Bible study leader and pillar of the church, had been
accused of indiscretion with a married man, another member
of the congregation. The rumours were proven untrue,
but that hardly mattered anymore. The damage was done.
"It's just not far," Andrea said. " It was all so unnecessary.
And now, even though I've done nothing wrong, my relationship
with that church will never be the same again."
We all know what pain is caused by undeserved accusation,
rejection, and misunderstanding. Sometimes, when the smoke clears,
irreparable damage has been done, even when no sin has occurred.
We can understand the torment that comes when we've sinned,
but when we've done nothing wrong, the injustice seem unbearable.
Jesus knew what it was to suffer unjustly. He had never sinned at all,
yet he 'became sin' for us. He gave himself in an outrageous exchange:
he took our sin and gave us his righteousness.
Living in this exchange does not mean, of course, that we will be exempt
from pain, that we will never again suffer unjustly or be subject
to rejection. But in Christ, we are declared righteous before God,
just as Jesus himself is righteous. And as we submit
to the Holy Spirit's work in us, we become righteous ,
obeying him and growing in grace. Christ endured rejection
for us so that we might live in him.
Application
1. Have I ever suffered unjustly or been rejected by someone without cause?
2. How can this verse, coupled with my own expereience give me a greater
depth of appreciation of what Christ suffered for me?

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethinic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipiling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

FROM IRISH IMMIGRANTS TO BANGLADESHIS
JACKSON HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD WELCOMES BENGALI PEOPLE
In the 19th century, desperate Irish immigrants fleeing famine back home
flooded into the Jackson Heights neighborhood in Queens.
Now, many Bangladeshi immigrants call this neighborhood home.
Barbershops promote their prices on signs that mix Bangla and English
and grocers display imports like jackfruit and bitter melon next to Hershey
candy bars while Bangladeshi men drink cha (tea) and gossip on sidewalks
in the evenings.
Most arrived in the last 25 years, seeking a new start and opportunities
for their families through a diversity visa program. They brought their food,
culture, and Islamic religion with them, and now there are an estimated
150 000 of them across New York City.
Many Bangladeshi neighborhood enclaves are in the shadow of church buildings,
but the language and cultural barriers are too great for them to consider
entering the doors. Thankfully, efforts by missionary teams and local
believers over the last decade are bringing the Gospel to these neighborhoods.
Saif was a young Bangladeshi man working in the hotel industry when he met
a local believer on the subway. The man told Saif about Jesus, but he wanted
to know more and met with a Muslim-background believer who led him to faith
in Christ.
Saif is now part of a small house church in his neighborhood comprised
of fellow believers from Muslim backgrounds.
God is at work through people like Saif.
Pray for the Bangladeshi communities of New York City,
many of which have been ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic.
Pray for Kingdom workers, local believers, and churches as they
engage their Bengali neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pray for believers from a Muslim background to "declare the gospel fearlessly"
in NYC and around the world (Eph. 6:20).
20 (2Co 5:20; Ac 28:20) for which I am an ambassador in chains,
that I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

Pray to the Lord to seek Him in unjust suffering.
Pray to the Lord tto know his Promises when he hears your cry for help.
