EXODUS 28
The Priestly Garments
1 (Nu 18:7; Ex 6:23) And bring near to yourself Aaron, your brother,
and his sons with him from among the children of Israel,
so that they may minister to Me as priests - Aaron,
Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
2 (Ex 31:10; Lev 8:30) You shall make holy garments
for your brother Aaron, for glory and for beauty.
3 (Isa 11:2; 1Co 12:7-11) You shall speak to all
who are specially skilled, whom I have filled
with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make
Aaron's garments to consecrate him,
that he may minister to Me as a priest.
4 (Ex 28:39-40) These are the garments
which they shall make: a breastplate,
and an ephod, and a robe,
and an embroidered coat,
a turban, and a sash.
They shall make holy garments for Aaron
your brother and his sons,
that he may minister to Me as priest.
5 They shall take the gold, the blue,
the purple, and the scarlet, and fine linen.
The Ephod
Ex 39:2-7
6 They shall make the ephod of gold, of blue,
and of purple, of scarlet,
and fine twined linen,
the work of a skilled workman.
7 It shall have the two shoulder pieces attached
to its two corners, so it shall be joined together.
8 (Ex 28:27-28; 29:5) The skillfully woven waistband
of the ephod, which is on it, shall be of the same workmanship,
of the same material: of gold, of blue and purple,
and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.
9 You shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names
of the children of Israel,
10 six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest
on the other stone, according to their birth.
11 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet,
you shall engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel.
You shall set them in filigree of gold.
12 (Ex 28:29; Jos 4:7) You shall put the two stones on the shoulders
of the ephod as stones of memorial for the children of Israel,
and Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders
as a memorial.
13 You shall make filigree settings of gold,
14 and two chains of pure gold. You shall make them of twisted cord
and fasten the braided chains to the filigree settings.
The Breastplate
Ex 39:8-21
15 You shall make the breastplate of judgment,
the work of a skillful workman.
You shall make it in the same manner as the ephod.
Of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet,
and of fine twisted linen you shall make it.
16 It is to be square when doubled: a span (About 9 inches,
or 23 centimeters.) in length and a span in width.
17 (Eze 28:13) You shall set in it four rows of stones.
The first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle;
18 the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;
19 the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
20 and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper.
They shall be set in gold filigree.
21 (Rev 7:4-8; 21:12) The stones shall be according to the names
of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names,
each like the engravings of a signet,
every one according to his name for the twelve tribes.
22 You shall make for the breastplate braided chains of pure gold.
23 You shall make on the breastplate two rings of gold and shall
put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
24 You shall put the two braided chains of gold on the two rings
which are on the ends of the breastplate.
25 You shall fasten the other two ends of the two braided chains
in the two filigree settings and put them
on the front of the shoulder pieces of the ephod.
26 You shall make two rings of gold and shall put them
on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it
which is toward the inner side of the ephod.
27 You shall make two other rings of gold and shall put them
on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod underneath toward the front,
close to the place where it is joined above the skillfully woven
waistband of the ephod.
28 (Nu 15:38) They shall bind the breastplate by its rings to the rings
of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it may be above the skillfully
woven waistband of the ephod, and so that the breastplate will not
come loose from the ephod.
29 (Ex 28:12; 28:30) Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel
on the breastplate of judgment over his heart when he goes into
the holy place, as a memorial before the Lord continually.
30 (Lev 8:8; Nu 27:21) You shall put the Urim and the Thummim
in the breastplate of judgment, and they shall be over Aaron's heart
when he goes in before the Lord. And Aaron shall bear the judgment
of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually.
Other Priestly Garments
Ex 39:22–31
31 You shall make the robe of the ephod completely blue.
32 There shall be a hole at the top of it, in the middle of it.
Around its opening it shall have a binding of woven work,
like the opening of a coat of mail, so that it will not be torn.
33 You shall make on its hem pomegranates of blue,
and of purple, and of scarlet, all around its hem,
and bells of gold between them all around:
34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate,
all around on the hem of the robe.
35 It shall be on Aaron when he ministers.
And its sound shall be heard when he goes
into the holy place before the Lord,
and when he comes out, so that he does not die.
36 (Zec 14:20; Lev 8:9) You shall make a plate of pure gold
and engrave on it, like the engravings of a signet,
HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
37 You shall put it on a blue cord, so that it may be upon the turban.
It is to be on the front of the turban.
38 (Lev 10:17; Nu 18:1) It shall be on Aaron's forehead,
so that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things
which the children of Israel shall consecrate in regard
to all their holy gifts. And it shall always be on his forehead,
so that they may be accepted before the Lord.
39 You shall embroider the tunic of fine linen,
and you shall make the turban of fine linen,
and you shall make the sash, the work of an embroiderer.
40 (Ex 39:41; 28:4) For Aaron's sons you shall make tunics.
You shall make sashes for them, and you shall make caps for them,
for glory and for beauty.
41 (Ex 29:7; 29:9; 40:15) You shall put them on Aaron your brother,
and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them, and consecrate them,
and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests.
42 (Lev 6:10; 16:4) You shall make linen undergarments for them to
cover their naked skin. They shall reach from the waist to the thighs.
43 (Ex 27:21; 20:26) They shall be on Aaron and on his sons
when they come into the tent of meeting or when they come
near to the altar to minister in the holy place,
so that they may not bear iniquity and die.
It shall be a perpetual statute to him and his descendants after him.
Exodus 28
[1] And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from

[3] And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled
with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate
him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
[4] And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an
ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they
shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may
minister unto me in the priest's office.
[5] And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
linen.
[6] And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of
scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.
[7] It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges
thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
[8] And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the
same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and
scarlet, and fine twined linen.
[9] And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the
children of Israel:
[10] Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on
the other stone, according to their birth.
[11] With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet,
shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel:
thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.
[12] And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for
stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their
names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
[13] And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
[14] And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou
make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches.
[15] And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work;
after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of
purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
[16] Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length
thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
[17] And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones:
the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be
the first row.
[18] And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
[19] And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
[20] And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be
set in gold in their inclosings.
[21] And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel,
twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one
with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
[22] And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen
work of pure gold.
[23] And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt
put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
[24] And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings
which are on the ends of the breastplate.
[25] And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in
the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it.
[26] And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the
two ends of the breastplate in the border thereof, which is in the side of
the ephod inward.
[27] And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the
two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against
the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
[28] And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings
of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of
the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.
[29] And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the
breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy
place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.
[30] And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the
Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the
LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his
heart before the LORD continually.
[31] And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
[32] And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it
shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were
the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
[33] And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue,
and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of
gold between them round about:
[34] A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon
the hem of the robe round about.
[35] And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard
when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh
out, that he die not.
[36] And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the
engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
[37] And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre;
upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
[38] And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity
of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their
holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be
accepted before the LORD.
[39] And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make
the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework.
[40] And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for
them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for
beauty.
[41] And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him;
and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may
minister unto me in the priest's office.
[42] And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from
the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
[43] And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto
the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to
minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall
be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.
EXODUS 29
Consecration of the Priests
Lev 8:1-36
1 Now this is the thing that you shall do to them to consecrate them,
to minister as priests to Me:
Take one young bull and two rams without blemish,
2 (Nu 6:15) and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil,
and unleavened wafers anointed with oil - you shall make them of wheat flour.
3 You shall put them into one basket and bring them in the basket
with the bull and the two rams.
4 (Ex 40:12; Heb 10:22) Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door
of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
5 You shall take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic
and the robe of the ephod and the ephod and the breastplate,
and gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod.
6 (Lev 8:9) And you shall put the turban on his head
and put the holy crown on the turban.
7 (Lev 21:10; Nu 35:25) Then shall you take the anointing oil
and pour it on his head and anoint him.
8 (Lev 8:13; Ex 28:40) You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.
9 (Nu 18:7; Lev 8:22-28) You shall gird them with sashes,
Aaron and his sons, and put the headbands on them,
and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute.
Thus you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.
10 (Lev 1:4; 8:14) Then you shall bring a bull before the tent of meeting,
and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull.
11 You shall kill the bull before the Lord
by the door of the tent of meeting.
12 (Ex 27:2; Lev 8:15) You shall take of the blood of the bull,
and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger,
and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.
13 (Lev 3:3-4) You shall take all the fat that covers the entrails,
and the lobe that is above the liver, and the two kidneys,
and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.
14 (Lev 4:11-12; 4:21) But the flesh of the bull, its skin,
and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp.
It is a sin offering.
15 (Ex 29:19) You shall also take one ram, and Aaron
and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.
16 You shall slay the ram, and you shall take its blood
and sprinkle it around on the altar.
17 Then you shall cut the ram in pieces,
and wash its entrails and its legs,
and put them with its pieces and its head.
18 (Ge 8:21) You shall burn the whole ram
on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord.
It is a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
19 (Ex 29:3) Then you shall take the other ram,
and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands
on the head of the ram.
20 You shall kill the ram and take some of its blood
and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron,
and on the tip of the right ear of his sons,
and on the thumb of their right hand,
and on the great toe of their right foot,
and sprinkle the blood around on the altar.
21 (Ex 29:1; 29:7) You shall take some of the blood
that is on the altar and some of the anointing
oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments,
and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him.
So he and his garments shall be consecrated,
along with his sons and his sons' garments with him.
22 (Ex 29:13) Also you shall take the fat and the rump of the ram,
and the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe above the liver,
and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them
and the right shoulder (for it is a ram of consecration),
23 (Ex 29:2-3) and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread,
and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread
that is before the Lord.
24 (Lev 7:30; 8:27) And you shall put all of these in the hands of Aaron
and in the hands of his sons, and shall wave them for a wave offering
before the Lord.
25 (Lev 8:28; Ex 29:41) Then you shall take them from their hands
and burn them on the altar for a burnt offering, for a soothing aroma
before the Lord. It is an offering made by fire to the Lord.
26 (Lev 8:29) You shall take the breast of Aaron's ram of consecration,
and wave it as a wave offering before the Lord,
and it shall be your portion.
27 (Lev 10:15; Nu 18:11) You shall consecrate the breast of the wave
offering that is waved and the thigh of the priest's portion
that is contributed from the ram of the consecration,
from that which was for Aaron and from that which was for his sons.
28 It shall be for Aaron and his sons by a statute forever,
for it is a contribution.
It shall be a contribution from the children of Israel
from their peace offerings, their contributions to the Lord.
29 (Nu 18:8) The holy garments belonging to Aaron are to belong
to his sons after him, so that they may be anointed in them
and be consecrated in them.
30 (Nu 20:28) The son that is priest in his stead shall put them
on seven days when he comes into the tent of meeting to
minister in the holy place.
31 (Lev 8:31) You shall take the ram of the consecration
and boil its flesh in a holy place.
32 (Mt 12:4) Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram
and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tent of meeting.
33 (Nu 18:4) They shall eat those things by which the atonement
was made in order to consecrate and sanctify them,
but no one else shall eat them, because they are holy.
34 (Ex 12:10; Lev 8:32) If any of the flesh from the consecrations
or from the bread remain until the morning,
then you shall burn the remainder with fire.
It shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
35 Thus shall you do to Aaron and his sons according to all that
I have commanded you. You shall consecrate them for seven days.
36 (Heb 10:11; Ex 30:26) Every day you must offer a bull as a sin
offering for atonement, and you must cleanse the altar when you
make atonement for it. You must anoint it to consecrate it.
37 (Ex 40:10; Mt 23:19) For seven days you must make atonement
for the altar and consecrate it, and then the altar will be most holy,
and whatever touches the altar will be holy.
The Daily Offerings
38 (Nu 28:3-8; 1Ch 16:40) Now this is what you are to offer on the altar:
two one-year-old lambs every day, continually.
39 (Eze 46:13-15; 2Ki 16:15) The one lamb you must offer in the morning,
and the other lamb you must offer at sundown.
40 (Lev 23:13) And with the first lamb will be a tenth of an ephah
(Likely about 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms. ) of flour mingled with
the fourth part of a hin (Likely about 1 quart, or 1 liter. )of beaten oil,
and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.
41 The other lamb you must offer at sundown and must offer with
it the same grain offering and the same drink offering as in the morning,
for a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
42 (Ex 25:22) This will be a continual burnt offering throughout
your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the Lord,
where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.
43 (1Ki 8:11; Ex 40:34) I will meet there with the children of Israel,
and it will be consecrated by My glory.
44 (Lev 21:15; 22:9) I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar.
I will also sanctify both Aaron and his sons to minister as priests to Me.
45 (Ex 25:8; Lev 26:12) I will dwell among the children of Israel
and will be their God.
46 (Ex 20:2) Then they will know that I am the Lord their God who brought
them out of the land of Egypt, so that I may dwell among them.
I am the Lord their God.
Exodus 29
[1] And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to
minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two
rams without blemish,
[2] And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers
unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.
[3] And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket,
with the bullock and the two rams.
[4] And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water.
[5] And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the
robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the
curious girdle of the ephod:
[6] And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon
the mitre.
[7] Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and
anoint him.
[8] And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.
[9] And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the
bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual
statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
[10] And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of
the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head
of the bullock.
[11] And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the
tabernacle of the congregation.
[12] And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the
horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom
of the altar.
[13] And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul
that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them,
and burn them upon the altar.
[14] But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou
burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.
[15] Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their
hands upon the head of the ram.
[16] And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and
sprinkle it round about upon the altar.
[17] And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and
his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.
[18] And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt
offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto
the LORD.
[19] And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put
their hands upon the head of the ram.
[20] Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon
the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his
sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of
their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
[21] And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the
anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon
his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be
hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
[22] Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that
covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and
the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of
consecration:
[23] And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out
of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the LORD:
[24] And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his
sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.
[25] And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the
altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it is an
offering made by fire unto the LORD.
[26] And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration, and
wave it for a wave offering before the LORD: and it shall be thy part.
[27] And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the
shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of
the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that
which is for his sons:
[28] And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever from the
children of Israel: for it is an heave offering: and it shall be an heave
offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace
offerings, even their heave offering unto the LORD.
[29] And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be
anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.
[30] And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days,
when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the
holy place.
[31] And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and seethe his flesh
in the holy place.
[32] And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread
that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[33] And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to
consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof,
because they are holy.
[34] And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain
unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not
be eaten, because it is holy.
[35] And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all
things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.
[36] And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for
atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an
atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.
[37] Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it;
and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be
holy.
[38] Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of
the first year day by day continually.
[39] The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou
shalt offer at even:
[40] And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth
part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a
drink offering.
[41] And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto

I frowned at my cellphone and sighed. Worry wrinkled my brow. A friend and I
had had a serious disagreement over an issue with our children, and I knew I
needed to call her and apologise. I didn't want to do it because our
viewpoints were still in conflict, yet I knew I hadn't been kind or humble
the last time we discussed the matter.
Anticipating the phone call, I wondered, What if she doesn't forgive me?
What if she doesn't want to continue our friendship? Just then, lyrics to
a song came to mind and took me back to the moment when I confessed my sin
in the situation to God. I felt relief because I knew God had forgiven me
and released me from guilt.
We can't control how people will respond to us when we try to work out
relational problems. As long as we own up to our part, humbly ask for
forgiveness, and make any changes needed, we can let God handle the healing.
Even if we have to endure the pain of unresolved "people problems," peace
with Him is always possible. God's arms are open, and He is waiting to show
us the grace and mercy we need. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9).

Joshua 1:8

and you will be wise.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according
to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success.
When God spoke these words to Joshua, the young leader's prospects for
"prosperity" and "success" were far from promising. Upon Moses' death,
Joshua was appointed to lead Israel into the Promised Land, to claim
the territory and establish a nation under God's rule.
Joshua was afraid, and for good reason. The people were rebellious
and intractable. And "claiming the land" meant battling many strong enemies.
Yet God told Joshua that his strength would come not in preparing for battle,
but in preparing for battle, but in preparing himself by meditating
on and applying God's word to his life.
We, too, face difficult battles as we seek to enter the "Promised Land"
of God's peace and presence. But his promise is the same as it was to Joshua:
through obedience to the Word, we can find prosperity and success.
God's promise does not necessarily mean financial prosperity
or material success. These victories may come as well, but God's primary
purpose for his people is spiritual success - the victory and joy of living
in fellowship with him. We can be enriched in the knowledge of God and
find power to overcome the enemies of sin and self. The way may not be easy
- after all, there is no victory without conflict - but God promises
that we will succeed as we look to him.

to enter and claim as my own?
b) What enemies will I need to battle in order to enter that land?
c) How can meditation on the Word of God and obedience to him bring me

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

A Life with Less Grumbling and Complaining

Philippians 2:1
When we wake up with a sore throat, receive criticism, pay a speeding
ticket, shovel snow, wait in a long line up or deal with a problematic
coworker, do we do these things without grumbling or disputing?
Life is full of disappointments and disturbances that can fill us with
disappointment, anger, resentment and bitterness. We are warned that
murmuring is a consequence of unbelief. Disputing is the product of a
discontented heart. We see this exemplified in Israel's fourty-year-long
wilderness wanderings when the people murmured against God's wisdom
and complained about His gracious provision.
God, in His wisdom, knows that patient endurance, the humility of heart
and a soul that trusts in the Lord, doesn't spring forth from a stress-free
life but those who have chosen God will receive His sufficient grace to
face any temptation or trial without grumbling. He uses the storms,
sadness, disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the
difficult people that cross our path to conform us into Christ's likeness.
Reflection: Have I allowed God to use the storms, sadness,
disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the difficult
people that cross my path, to conform me without complaining?
Prayer: Loving Father, I confess that complaining and grumbling can be in
my nature. Lord, forgive me for when I have been the cause of disputes
that could have been avoided. I recognise this displays
unbelief in you and pride in me.
I pray, God, that I can live a more complaint-free life. Help me to take
every captive thought to Christ, moment by moment, and enable me to
cast all my cares upon you, knowing that you care for me. This I ask in
Jesus name, amen.

The Breastplate
Ex 39:8-21
15 You shall make the breastplate of judgment,

16 It is to be square when doubled: a span (About 9 inches,

woven waistband of the ephod, and so that the breastplate will not
come loose from the ephod.

on the breastplate of judgment over his heart when he goes into
the holy place, as a memorial before the Lord continually.

Around its opening it shall have a binding of woven work,
like the opening of a coat of mail, so that it will not be torn.

and bells of gold between them all around:
34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate,
all around on the hem of the robe.
35 It shall be on Aaron when he ministers.

into the holy place before the Lord,

office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
[2] And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and
for beauty.
[3] And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled
with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate
him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
[4] And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an
ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they
shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may
minister unto me in the priest's office.
[5] And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
linen.
[6] And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of
scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.
[7] It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges
thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
[8] And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the
same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and
scarlet, and fine twined linen.
[9] And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the
children of Israel:
[10] Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on
the other stone, according to their birth.
[11] With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet,
shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel:
thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.
[12] And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for
stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their
names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
[13] And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
[14] And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou
make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches.
[15] And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work;
after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of
purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
[16] Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length
thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
[17] And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones:
the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be
the first row.
[18] And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
[19] And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
[20] And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be
set in gold in their inclosings.
[21] And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel,
twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one
with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
[22] And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen
work of pure gold.
[23] And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt
put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
[24] And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings
which are on the ends of the breastplate.
[25] And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in
the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it.
[26] And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the
two ends of the breastplate in the border thereof, which is in the side of
the ephod inward.
[27] And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the
two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against
the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
[28] And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings
of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of
the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.
[29] And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the
breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy
place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.
[30] And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the
Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the
LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his
heart before the LORD continually.
[31] And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
[32] And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it
shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were
the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
[33] And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue,
and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of
gold between them round about:
[34] A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon
the hem of the robe round about.
[35] And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard
when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh
out, that he die not.
[36] And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the
engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
[37] And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre;
upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
[38] And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity
of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their
holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be
accepted before the LORD.
[39] And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make
the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework.
[40] And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for
them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for
beauty.
[41] And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him;
and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may
minister unto me in the priest's office.
[42] And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from
the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
[43] And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto
the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to
minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall
be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.

Consecration of the Priests
Lev 8:1-36
1 Now this is the thing that you shall do to them to consecrate them,
to minister as priests to Me:
Take one young bull and two rams without blemish,
2 (Nu 6:15) and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil,
and unleavened wafers anointed with oil - you shall make them of wheat flour.
3 You shall put them into one basket and bring them in the basket
with the bull and the two rams.
4 (Ex 40:12; Heb 10:22) Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door
of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
5 You shall take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic
and the robe of the ephod and the ephod and the breastplate,
and gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod.
6 (Lev 8:9) And you shall put the turban on his head
and put the holy crown on the turban.
7 (Lev 21:10; Nu 35:25) Then shall you take the anointing oil
and pour it on his head and anoint him.
8 (Lev 8:13; Ex 28:40) You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.
9 (Nu 18:7; Lev 8:22-28) You shall gird them with sashes,
Aaron and his sons, and put the headbands on them,
and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute.
Thus you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.

and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull.
11 You shall kill the bull before the Lord

and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.
13 (Lev 3:3-4) You shall take all the fat that covers the entrails,

14 (Lev 4:11-12; 4:21) But the flesh of the bull, its skin,
and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp.
It is a sin offering.
15 (Ex 29:19) You shall also take one ram, and Aaron
and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.
16 You shall slay the ram, and you shall take its blood
and sprinkle it around on the altar.
17 Then you shall cut the ram in pieces,
and wash its entrails and its legs,
and put them with its pieces and its head.
18 (Ge 8:21) You shall burn the whole ram
on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord.
It is a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
19 (Ex 29:3) Then you shall take the other ram,
and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands
on the head of the ram.
20 You shall kill the ram and take some of its blood
and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron,
and on the tip of the right ear of his sons,
and on the thumb of their right hand,
and on the great toe of their right foot,
and sprinkle the blood around on the altar.
21 (Ex 29:1; 29:7) You shall take some of the blood
that is on the altar and some of the anointing
oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments,
and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him.
So he and his garments shall be consecrated,
along with his sons and his sons' garments with him.
22 (Ex 29:13) Also you shall take the fat and the rump of the ram,
and the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe above the liver,
and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them
and the right shoulder (for it is a ram of consecration),
23 (Ex 29:2-3) and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread,
and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread
that is before the Lord.
24 (Lev 7:30; 8:27) And you shall put all of these in the hands of Aaron
and in the hands of his sons, and shall wave them for a wave offering
before the Lord.
25 (Lev 8:28; Ex 29:41) Then you shall take them from their hands
and burn them on the altar for a burnt offering, for a soothing aroma
before the Lord. It is an offering made by fire to the Lord.
26 (Lev 8:29) You shall take the breast of Aaron's ram of consecration,
and wave it as a wave offering before the Lord,
and it shall be your portion.
27 (Lev 10:15; Nu 18:11) You shall consecrate the breast of the wave
offering that is waved and the thigh of the priest's portion
that is contributed from the ram of the consecration,
from that which was for Aaron and from that which was for his sons.
28 It shall be for Aaron and his sons by a statute forever,
for it is a contribution.
It shall be a contribution from the children of Israel
from their peace offerings, their contributions to the Lord.
29 (Nu 18:8) The holy garments belonging to Aaron are to belong
to his sons after him, so that they may be anointed in them
and be consecrated in them.
30 (Nu 20:28) The son that is priest in his stead shall put them
on seven days when he comes into the tent of meeting to
minister in the holy place.
31 (Lev 8:31) You shall take the ram of the consecration
and boil its flesh in a holy place.
32 (Mt 12:4) Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram
and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tent of meeting.
33 (Nu 18:4) They shall eat those things by which the atonement
was made in order to consecrate and sanctify them,
but no one else shall eat them, because they are holy.
34 (Ex 12:10; Lev 8:32) If any of the flesh from the consecrations
or from the bread remain until the morning,
then you shall burn the remainder with fire.
It shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
35 Thus shall you do to Aaron and his sons according to all that
I have commanded you. You shall consecrate them for seven days.
36 (Heb 10:11; Ex 30:26) Every day you must offer a bull as a sin
offering for atonement, and you must cleanse the altar when you
make atonement for it. You must anoint it to consecrate it.
37 (Ex 40:10; Mt 23:19) For seven days you must make atonement
for the altar and consecrate it, and then the altar will be most holy,
and whatever touches the altar will be holy.
The Daily Offerings
38 (Nu 28:3-8; 1Ch 16:40) Now this is what you are to offer on the altar:
two one-year-old lambs every day, continually.
39 (Eze 46:13-15; 2Ki 16:15) The one lamb you must offer in the morning,
and the other lamb you must offer at sundown.
40 (Lev 23:13) And with the first lamb will be a tenth of an ephah
(Likely about 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms. ) of flour mingled with
the fourth part of a hin (Likely about 1 quart, or 1 liter. )of beaten oil,
and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.
41 The other lamb you must offer at sundown and must offer with
it the same grain offering and the same drink offering as in the morning,
for a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
42 (Ex 25:22) This will be a continual burnt offering throughout
your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the Lord,
where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.
43 (1Ki 8:11; Ex 40:34) I will meet there with the children of Israel,
and it will be consecrated by My glory.
44 (Lev 21:15; 22:9) I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar.
I will also sanctify both Aaron and his sons to minister as priests to Me.
45 (Ex 25:8; Lev 26:12) I will dwell among the children of Israel
and will be their God.
46 (Ex 20:2) Then they will know that I am the Lord their God who brought
them out of the land of Egypt, so that I may dwell among them.
I am the Lord their God.

children of Israel: for it is an heave offering: and it shall be an heave
offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace
offerings, even their heave offering unto the LORD.
[29] And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be
anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.
[30] And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days,
when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the
holy place.
[31] And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and seethe his flesh
in the holy place.
[32] And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread
that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[33] And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to
consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof,
because they are holy.
[34] And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain
unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not
be eaten, because it is holy.
[35] And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all
things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.
[36] And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for

in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7 (Isa 2:5; Eph 1:7) But if we walk in the light as He is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 (Jas 3:2; 1Jn 2:4) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us.
9 (Ps 32:5; Pr 28:13) If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I frowned at my cellphone and sighed. Worry wrinkled my brow. A friend and I
had had a serious disagreement over an issue with our children, and I knew I
needed to call her and apologise. I didn't want to do it because our
viewpoints were still in conflict, yet I knew I hadn't been kind or humble
the last time we discussed the matter.
Anticipating the phone call, I wondered, What if she doesn't forgive me?
What if she doesn't want to continue our friendship? Just then, lyrics to
a song came to mind and took me back to the moment when I confessed my sin
in the situation to God. I felt relief because I knew God had forgiven me
and released me from guilt.
We can't control how people will respond to us when we try to work out
relational problems. As long as we own up to our part, humbly ask for
forgiveness, and make any changes needed, we can let God handle the healing.
Even if we have to endure the pain of unresolved "people problems," peace
with Him is always possible. God's arms are open, and He is waiting to show
us the grace and mercy we need. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9).

Joshua 1:8
8 (Ps 19:14; 119:15) This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth.
Meditate on it day and night so that you may act carefully according
to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way successful,
and you will be wise.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according
to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success.
When God spoke these words to Joshua, the young leader's prospects for
"prosperity" and "success" were far from promising. Upon Moses' death,
Joshua was appointed to lead Israel into the Promised Land, to claim
the territory and establish a nation under God's rule.
Joshua was afraid, and for good reason. The people were rebellious
and intractable. And "claiming the land" meant battling many strong enemies.
Yet God told Joshua that his strength would come not in preparing for battle,
but in preparing for battle, but in preparing himself by meditating
on and applying God's word to his life.
We, too, face difficult battles as we seek to enter the "Promised Land"
of God's peace and presence. But his promise is the same as it was to Joshua:
through obedience to the Word, we can find prosperity and success.
God's promise does not necessarily mean financial prosperity
or material success. These victories may come as well, but God's primary
purpose for his people is spiritual success - the victory and joy of living
in fellowship with him. We can be enriched in the knowledge of God and
find power to overcome the enemies of sin and self. The way may not be easy
- after all, there is no victory without conflict - but God promises
that we will succeed as we look to him.

c) How can meditation on the Word of God and obedience to him bring me

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.

- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Philippians 2:1
When we wake up with a sore throat, receive criticism, pay a speeding
ticket, shovel snow, wait in a long line up or deal with a problematic
coworker, do we do these things without grumbling or disputing?
Life is full of disappointments and disturbances that can fill us with
disappointment, anger, resentment and bitterness. We are warned that
murmuring is a consequence of unbelief. Disputing is the product of a
discontented heart. We see this exemplified in Israel's fourty-year-long
wilderness wanderings when the people murmured against God's wisdom
and complained about His gracious provision.
God, in His wisdom, knows that patient endurance, the humility of heart
and a soul that trusts in the Lord, doesn't spring forth from a stress-free
life but those who have chosen God will receive His sufficient grace to
face any temptation or trial without grumbling. He uses the storms,
sadness, disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the
difficult people that cross our path to conform us into Christ's likeness.
Reflection: Have I allowed God to use the storms, sadness,
disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the difficult
people that cross my path, to conform me without complaining?
Prayer: Loving Father, I confess that complaining and grumbling can be in
my nature. Lord, forgive me for when I have been the cause of disputes
that could have been avoided. I recognise this displays
unbelief in you and pride in me.
I pray, God, that I can live a more complaint-free life. Help me to take
every captive thought to Christ, moment by moment, and enable me to
cast all my cares upon you, knowing that you care for me. This I ask in
Jesus name, amen.
Scripture reflection: James 5:9,

lest you be condemned. Look, the Judge is standing at the door.
