Day 302 of the 2nd Bible Study Journey - 29 October 2022 reflections

Day 302, 29 October 2022

1)John 15:18-27

John 16

John 17

John 15:18-27

The World's Hatred

18 (1Jn 3:13; Jn 7:7) "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me

before it hated you.

19 (Jn 15:16) If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own.

But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world,

the world therefore hates you.

20 (Jn 13:16; Mt 10:24) Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant

is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also

persecute you. If they kept My words, they will keep yours also.

21 (Mt 10:22; Jn 16:3) But all these things they will do to you for

My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

22 (Jn 9:41; Ro 1:20) If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not

have had sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin.

23 He who hates Me hates My Father also.

24 (Jn 5:36; 10:37) If I had not performed among them the works

which no one else did, they would have no sin.

But now have they seen and hated both My Father and Me.

25 (Ps 35:19; 69:4) But that the word which is written in their law might be

fulfilled, 'They hated Me without a cause.' (Ps 35:19; 69:4.)

26 (Jn 14:16-17; 14:26; 16:7) "But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send

to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,

He will bear witness of Me.

27 (Lk 24:48; Jn 21:24) And you also will bear witness, because you have been

with Me from the beginning.

[18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye

are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the

world hateth you.

[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than

his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they

have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

[21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because

they know not him that sent me.

[22] If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now

they have no cloke for their sin.

[23] He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

[24] If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they

had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my

Father.

[25] But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is

written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

[26] But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the

Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall

testify of me:

[27] And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the

beginning.

John 16

1 (Mt 11:6) "I have spoken these things to you so that you will not fall away.

2 (Jn 9:22; Ac 26:9-11) They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time

is coming that whoever kills you will think that he is offering

a service to God.

3 (Jn 15:21; 17:25) They will do these things to you, because they have not

known the Father nor Me.

4 (Jn 13:19; Mt 9:15) I have told you these things, so that when the time

comes, you may remember that I told you about them.

[1] These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

[2] They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that

whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

[3] And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the

Father, nor me.

[4] But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may

remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at

the beginning, because I was with you.

The Work of the Spirit

"I did not tell you these things at the beginning, because I was with you.

5 (Jn 13:36; 7:33) But now I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you

asks Me, 'Where are You going?'

6 (Jn 14:1) Rather, sorrow has filled your heart because I have told you

these things.

7 (Jn 14:26; 15:26; 7:39) Nevertheless I tell you the truth:

It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away,

the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.

8 (Jn 8:46) When He comes, He will convict the world of sin

and of righteousness and of judgment:

9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

10 (Jer 23:5-6; Ac 3:14) of righteousness, because I am going to My Father,

and you will see Me no more;

11 (Jn 12:31; 14:30; 2Co 4:4) and of judgment, because the ruler of this

world stands condemned.

12 (Mk 4:33) "I have yet many things to tell you,

but you cannot bear them now.

13 (Jn 14:17; 14:26; 15:26) But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide

you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own authority. But He will

speak whatever He hears, and He will tell you things that are to come.

14 (1Jn 4:13-14) He will glorify Me, for He will receive from Me

and will declare it to you.

15 (Jn 17:10) All that the Father has is Mine. Therefore I said that

He will take what is Mine and will declare it to you.

[5] But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me,

Whither goest thou?

[6] But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your

heart.

[7] Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go

away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I

depart, I will send him unto you.

[8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of

righteousness, and of judgment:

[9] Of sin, because they believe not on me;

[10] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

[11] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

[12] I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into

all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,

that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

[14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it

unto you.

[15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he

shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Sorrow Will Turn Into Joy

16 (Jn 7:33; 16:17-19) "In a little while you will not see Me. And then after

a little while you will see Me, because I am going to the Father."

17 (Jn 16:5; Mk 9:10) Then some of His disciples said among themselves,

"What is this He is telling us: 'In a little while you will not see Me;

and then after a little while you will see Me,' and, 'because I am going

to the Father'?"

18 Then they said, "What is this He is telling us: 'In a little while'?

We do not know what He is saying."

19 (Jn 2:24-25; 16:30) Then Jesus knew that they wanted to ask Him.

So He said to them, "Do you inquire among yourselves concerning what I said:

'In a little while you will not see Me;

and then after a little while you will see Me'?

20 (Mk 16:10; Mt 5:4) Truly, truly I say to you that you will weep and lament,

but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will

be turned into joy.

21 (1Th 5:3) When a woman is giving birth, she has pain, because her hour

has come. But as soon as she delivers the child, she no longer remembers

the anguish for joy that a child is born into the world.

22 (Jn 16:6; 1Pe 1:8) Therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you

again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

23 (Jn 16:19; Mt 7:7) On that day you will ask Me nothing. Truly, truly I say

to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you.

24 (Jn 15:11) Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will

receive, that your joy may be full.

[16] A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and

ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

[17] Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he

saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little

while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

[18] They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we

cannot tell what he saith.

[19] Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them,

Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall

not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

[20] Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the

world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be

turned into joy.

[21] A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come:

but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the

anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

[22] And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your

heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

[23] And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto

you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

[24] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive,

that your joy may be full.

I Have Overcome the World

25 (Jn 16:2) "I have told you these things in proverbs. But the time is coming

when I will no longer speak to you in proverbs, for I will speak to you

plainly about the Father.

26 On that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying to you that

I shall ask the Father on your behalf.

27 (Jn 14:21; 14:23) For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved

Me, and have believed that I came from God.

28 (Jn 13:3; 8:14) I came from the Father and have come into the world.

As I said, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father."

29 (Jn 16:25) His disciples said to Him, "Yes! Now You are speaking plainly

and with no figure of speech.

30 (Jn 21:17) Now we know that You know everything and do not need anyone

to question You. By this we believe that You came from God."

31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe?

32 (Mt 26:31; Jn 8:29) Listen, the hour is coming. Yes, it has now come that

you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave Me alone.

Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with Me.

33 (Jn 14:27; 1Jn 4:4; Jn 14:1) "I have told you these things so that in Me

you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good

cheer. I have overcome the world."

[25] These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh,

when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you

plainly of the Father.

[26] At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I

will pray the Father for you:

[27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have

believed that I came out from God.

[28] I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I

leave the world, and go to the Father.

[29] His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and

speakest no proverb.

[30] Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any

man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

[31] Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

[32] Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered,

every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone,

because the Father is with me.

[33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In

the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome

the world.

John 17

The Prayer of Jesus

1 (Jn 11:41; 7:39) When Jesus spoke these words, He lifted His eyes toward

heaven and said:

"Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son,

that Your Son may also glorify You.

2 (Jn 6:37; 6:39) As You have given Him authority over all flesh,

He will give eternal life to all whom You have given Him.

3 (1Jn 5:20; Jn 3:17; 17:25) This is eternal life: that they may know You,

the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

4 (Jn 4:34; 19:30) I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work

You have given Me to do.

5 (Jn 17:24; Php 2:6) And now, O Father, glorify Me in Your own presence

with the glory which I had with You before the world existed.

6 (Jn 17:2; 17:26) "I have revealed Your name to the men whom You have given

Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have

kept Your word.

7 Now they know that all things You have given Me are from You.

8 (Jn 16:27; 17:14) For I have given them the words which You gave Me.

They have received them and certainly know that I came from You,

and they have believed that You sent Me.

9 (Lk 22:32; Jn 14:16) I pray for them. I do not pray for the world,

but for those whom You have given Me. For they are Yours.

10 (2Th 1:10) All that are Mine are Yours, and all that are Yours are Mine.

And I am glorified in them.

11 (Jn 13:1; 17:21-22) I am to be no longer in the world, though these are

in the world, for I am coming to You. Holy Father, through Your name keep

those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one.

12 (Jn 13:18; 18:9; 2Th 2:3) While I was with them in the world, I kept them

in Your name. I have kept those whom You have given Me. And none of them

is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 (Jn 3:29; 15:11) "But now I am coming to You, and I say these things

in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 (Jn 8:23; 17:16) I have given them Your word. And the world has hated them

because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world,

but that You should keep them from the evil one.

16 (Jn 17:14) They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

17 (Jn 15:3; 2Sa 7:28) Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

18 (Jn 20:21) As You sent Me into the world, so I sent them into the world.

19 (Jn 10:36; 1Co 1:2) For their sakes I sanctify Myself,

that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me

through their word,

21 (Jn 10:38; 17:8) that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me,

and I in You. May they also be one in Us, that the world may believe that

You have sent Me.

22 (Jn 1:14; 14:20) I have given them the glory which You gave Me, that they

may be one even as We are one:

23 (Jn 16:27; 17:21) I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfect in

unity, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved

them as You have loved Me.

24 (Jn 12:26; 17:5) "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me,

be with Me where I am, that they may see My glory which You have given Me.

For You loved Me before the creation of the world.

25 (Jn 7:29; 15:21) "O righteous Father, the world has not known You,

but I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me.

26 (Jn 15:9; 17:6) I have declared Your name to them, and will declare it,

that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

[1] These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,

Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify

thee:

[2] As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal

life to as many as thou hast given him.

[3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

[4] I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou

gavest me to do.

[5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory

which I had with thee before the world was.

[6] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the

world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy

word.

[7] Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of

thee.

[8] For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have

received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they

have believed that thou didst send me.

[9] I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast

given me; for they are thine.

[10] And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

[11] And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I

come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast

given me, that they may be one, as we are.

[12] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that

thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of

perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

[13] And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that

they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

[14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they

are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

[15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that

thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

[16] They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

[17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

[18] As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into

the world.

[19] And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be

sanctified through the truth.

[20] Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe

on me through their word;

[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee,

that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast

sent me.

[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be

one, even as we are one:

[23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and

that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou

hast loved me.

[24] Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me

where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for

thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

[25] O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known

thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

[26] And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the

love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Entitled "For the Sake of the Gospel"

Jeremiah 20:7-13,18

Jeremiah Dejected

7 (La 3:14; Eze 3:14) O Lord, You have deceived me and I was deceived;

You are stronger than I and have prevailed.

I am held in derision daily;

everyone mocks me.

8 (Jer 6:10; 2Ch 36:16) For each time I speak, I cry out;

I cry out, "Violence and devastation,"

because to me the word of the Lord has resulted

in reproach and derision daily.

9 (Job 32:18-20; Ps 39:3) But if I say, "I will not make mention of Him

nor speak any more in His name,"

then His word was in my heart

as a burning fire shut up in my bones;

and I was weary of forbearing it,

and I could not endure it.

10 (Ps 31:13; 41:9) For I heard the defaming of many,

"Terror on every side!

Denounce him. Yes, denounce him!"

All my familiar friends

who watch for my fall, say,

"Perhaps he will be enticed

so that we can prevail against him,

and we will take our revenge on him."

11 (Jer 15:20; 23:40; 1:8) But the Lord is with me as a dread mighty One.

Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail.

They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper.

Their everlasting shame will never be forgotten.

12 (Jer 11:20; Ps 54:7; 59:10) But, O Lord of Hosts, who tests the righteous

and sees the mind and the heart,

let me see Your vengeance on them,

for to You I have presented my cause.

13 (Ps 34:6; 69:33) Sing to the Lord,

praise the Lord.

For He has delivered the soul of the poor

from the hand of evildoers.

18 (Job 3:20; La 3:1) Why did I come forth from the womb

to see trouble and sorrow,

so that my days are spent in shame?

[7] O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger

than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

[8] For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the

word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

[9] Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his

name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,

and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

[10] For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they,

and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying,

Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we

shall take our revenge on him.

[11] But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my

persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be

greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall

never be forgotten.

[12] But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins

and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened

my cause.

[13] Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul

of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

[18] Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that

my days should be consumed with shame?

Drew had been imprisoned for two years because he served Jesus. He'd read

stories of missionaries who felt constant joy throughout their incarceration,

but he confessed this was not his experience. He told his wife that God had

picked the wrong man to suffer for Him. She replied, "No. I think maybe He

picked the right man. This was not an accident."

Drew could likely relate to the prophet Jeremiah, who had faithfully served

God by warning Judah that God would punish them for their sins. But God's

judgment hadn't fallen yet, and Judah's leaders beat Jeremiah and put him in

stocks. Jeremiah blamed God: "You deceived me, Lord" (Jeremiah 20:7). The

prophet believed God had failed to deliver. His word had only "brought [him]

insult and reproach all day long" (v. 8-). "Cursed be the day I was born!"

Jeremiah said. "Why did I ever come out of the womb to see trouble

and sorrow and to end my days in shame?" (vv. 14, 18).

Eventually Drew was released, but through his ordeal he began to understand

that perhaps God chose him-much like He chose Jeremiah-because he was weak.

If he and Jeremiah had been naturally strong, they might have received some

of the praise for their success. But if they were naturally weak, all the

glory for their perseverance would go to God (1 Corinthians 1:26-31). His

frailty made him the perfect person for Jesus to use.

Reflect & Pray

Where do you feel particularly weak?

How might you turn your weakness into a significant spiritual advantage?

Jesus, Your power is made visible in my weakness.

I confess my failings so I can boast in You!

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 2 - Saved by Grace - Day 7 - Oh, Freedom!

Rom 8:1-2

Life in the Spirit

1 (1Co 1:30; 2Co 5:17) There is therefore now no condemnation

for those who are in Christ Jesus,

who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

2 (1Co 15:45; Ro 6:18; Jn 8:32) For the law of the Spirit of life

in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.

The Spirit of God Within You

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,

who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free

from the law of sin and death.

In the classic movie, I want to live! actress Susan Hayward

plays a woman convicted of murder and sentenced to be executed.

The suspense builds; the execution is delayed as the officials

wait for a word of pardon. Finally, the woman in executed;

the call comes, and the pardon has been granted, but it is too late.

When no pardon is granted, condemnation leads to death. Our sin

marks us as "guilty" before God, and we deserve the wages of sin,

which is death. But in Jesus Christ, the pardon does come - and

it comes in time. Our sin deserves condemnation by God, and yet

he forgives us because Christ paid the penalty for us,

But we face other kinds of condemnation as well - self-condemnation,

that internal accusation that we still, somehow, must pay the price

of our own sin. Others often condemn us as well, offering much less

forgiveness and mercy than God does. And the Enemy of our souls condemns

us, trying to convince us that we don't, after all, have real freedom

from sin.

Yet Paul tells us in Romans 8, "There is therefore now no condemnation

for those who are in Christ Jesus". God has forgiven us freely; he has

granted his pardon. And in light of his forgiveness, how can we live

under the condemnation of others - or even of ourselves?

We are free, Paul says - free from the "law of sin and death,"

free to live in the liberty of the Spirit. The stay of execution

has come: the pardon has been granted. Never again can we tried

for the same crimes: never again must we live under the burden

of condemnation.

Application

a) Have I ever lived under the burden of condemnation from myself

or others? Why?

b) How can Romans 8:1-2 help me live in freedom of such condemnation?

When you are Facing Pain and Suffering

Romans 8:31-39

The Love of God

31 (Ps 118:6; Ro 4:1) What then shall we say to these things?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

32 (Jn 3:16; Ro 4:25) He who did not spare His own Son,

but delivered Him up for us all, how shall

He not with Him also freely give us all things?

33 (Rev 12:10-11; Isa 50:8-9) Who shall bring a charge against God's elect?

It is God who justifies.

34 (Heb 7:25; Mk 16:19; Ro 8:1) Who is he who condemns?

It is Christ who died, yes, who is risen, who is also

at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

35 (1Co 4:11) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine,

or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 (Ps 44:22; 1Co 15:30)As it is written:

"For Your sake we are killed all day long;

we are counted as sheep for the slaughter." (Ps 44:22.)

37 (1Co 15:57; Gal 2:20) No, in all these things we are more

than conquerors through Him who loved us.

38 (Eph 1:21; 1Pe 3:22) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,

neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present

nor things to come,

39 (Ro 5:8) neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing,

shall be able to separate us from the love of God,

More than Conquerors

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us,

who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,

how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect?

It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather,

that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God,

who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation,

or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written,

For thy sake we are killed all the day long;

We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors

through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,

nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate

us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

Prince Edward Island

Total population 146300

Muslim population (est.) 1127

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.

Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims

cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.

More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic

month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at

the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established

in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Association of PEI.

As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.

The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important

for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were

established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to

monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as

shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,

and from the River to the ends of the earth."

Let us intercede together for:

- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading

outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of Peace.

- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community

in contextual ways to share the Gospel

- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,

giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching

out to Muslims locally.

- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's

Spirit in His churches and people , and an awakening an openness

and spiritual hunger in Muslims for relationship with the Father

through the Son.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,

"What does this mean?"

13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

Peter's Speech at Pentecost

14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice

and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,

let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,

since it is the third hour of the day.

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,

'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions,

and your old men shall dream dreams.'

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

Day 29 of the Month

a) Pray that God will enlighten those in medicine and health care

to acknowledge the sanctity of life and server with true

integrity and compassion (

Ps 139:13-16

13 You brought my inner parts into being;

You wove me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder;

marvelous are Your works,

and You know me completely.

15 My frame was not hidden from You

when I was made in secret,

and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw me unformed,

yet in Your book

all my days were written,

before any of them came into being.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins:

Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:

Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee,

When I was made in secret, and curiously wrought

in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;

And in thy book all my members were written,

Which in continuance were fashioned,

When as yet there was none of them.

)

b) Pray that the Church in Canada will remember the poor

and compassionately respond to their plight (

Gal 2:10

10 (Ac 24:17) Only they requested that we should remember the poor,

which I also was eager to do.

10 Only they would that we should remember the poor;

the same which I also was forward to do.

)

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to do His Will.
