John 7-8
John 7
The Unbelief of Jesus' Brothers
1 (Jn 4:3; 7:19) After these things Jesus walked in Galilee.
He would not walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.
2 (Zec 14:16-19) Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.
3 (Mt 12:46; Jn 7:5) His brothers therefore said to Him,
"Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see
the works that You do.
4 Jn 18:20For no one does anything in secret, while he himself seeks
to be known openly. If You do these things, reveal Yourself to the world."
5 (Mk 3:21) For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
6 (Jn 2:4; 7:8) Therefore Jesus told them, "My time has not yet come,
but your time is always fitting.
7 (Jn 3:19; 15:18-19) The world cannot hate you. But it hates Me,
because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.
8 (Jn 7:6) You go up to this feast. I am not going up to this feast yet,
because My time has not yet fully come."
9 Having said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
Jesus at the Feast of Tabernacles
10 However, after His brothers had gone up to the feast,
then He also went up, not publicly, but secretly.
11 (Jn 11:56) Then the Jews looked for Him at the feast,
and said, "Where is He?"
12 (Jn 7:40-43; 9:16) There was much complaining among the people
concerning Him. For some said, "He is a good Man."
Others said, “No, He deceives the people.â€
13 (Jn 9:22; 19:38) Yet no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
14 (Jn 7:28) Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple
and began teaching.
15 (Mt 13:54; Lk 2:47) The Jews marveled, saying, "How has this Man become
educated, having never been taught?"
16 (Jn 3:11; 14:24) Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not Mine,
but His who sent Me.
17 (Jn 8:43; 8:31-32) If any man desires to do His will,
he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether
I speak on My own authority.
18 (Jn 5:41) He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory.
But He who seeks the glory of Him who sent Him is true,
and no unrighteousness is in Him.
19 (Jn 1:17; Mt 12:14) Did Moses not give you the law,
and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"
20 (Jn 8:48; 10:20) The people answered and said,
"You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?"
21 Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you all marvel.
22 (Lev 12:3; Ge 17:10-14) Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision,
you circumcise a man on the Sabbath day (although it did not come from Moses,
but from the Patriarchs).
23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath day, so that the Law of Moses
should not be broken, are you angry at Me because I completely healed a man on
the Sabbath day?
24 (Jn 8:15; Dt 1:16-17) Do not judge according to appearance, but practice
righteous judgment."
Is He the Christ?
25 Then some of them from Jerusalem said, "Is this not He whom they seek to kill?
26 (Jn 7:48) Look! He speaks publicly, and they say nothing to Him.
Do the rulers indeed know that this is really the Christ?
27 (Jn 6:42; Lk 4:22) But we know where this Man is from.
When the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from."
28 (Jn 8:42; 7:14) Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple, cried out,
"You know Me and you likewise know where I am from. I have not come on
My own authority, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
29 (Jn 8:55; Mt 11:27) But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me."
30 (Jn 10:39; 7:6) So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him,
because His hour had not yet come.
31 (Jn 12:42; Mt 12:23) Still, many of the people believed in Him and said,
"When the Christ comes, will He do more signs
than these which this Man has done?"
Officials Sent to Arrest Jesus
32 The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning Him.
So the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.
33 (Jn 13:33; 16:5) Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you
a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.
34 You will look for Me and you will not find Me. And where I am,
you cannot come."
35 (Jas 1:1; 1Pe 1:1) The Jews said among themselves, "Where does He intend
to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion
among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?
36 (Jn 7:34) What kind of saying is this which He said,
'You will look for Me and you will not find Me.
And where I am, you cannot come'?"
Rivers of Living Water
37 (Isa 55:1; Lev 23:36; Nu 29:35) On the last and greatest day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried out, "If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to Me and drink.
38 (Isa 58:11; Jn 4:14) He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,
out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."
39 (Ac 2:17; Joel 2:28; Ac 2:33) By this He spoke of the Spirit,
whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit
was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Division Among the People
40 (Mt 21:11; Jn 1:21) Therefore when they heard these words,
many of the people said, "Truly, this is the Prophet."
41 (Jn 1:46; 7:52) Others said, "This is the Christ."
But some said, "Will the Christ come out of Galilee?
42 (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:5) Has the Scripture not said that the Christ
comes from the seed of David, out of the town of Bethlehem where David was?"
43 (Jn 9:16; 10:19) So there was a division among the people because of Him.
44 (Jn 7:30) Some of them wanted to arrest Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
The Unbelief of Those in Authority
45 (Jn 7:32) Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees,
who said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?"
46 The officers answered, "No man has ever spoken like this Man."
47 (Jn 7:12) Then the Pharisees answered them, "Are you also deceived?
48 (Jn 12:42; 7:26) Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?
49 Not at all. This crowd who does not know the law is accursed."
50 (Jn 19:39) Nicodemus, being one of them who came to Jesus by night,
said to them,
51 (Pr 18:13) "Does our law judge a man before it hears him
and knows what he is doing?"
52 (Jn 7:41; 1:46) They answered him, "Are you also from Galilee?
Search and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee."
The Woman Caught in Adultery
53 Then everyone went to his own house.
(The earliest Gk. manuscripts lack 7:53-8:11.)
John 8
1 (Mt 21:1) But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 (Mt 26:55; Lk 4:20) Early in the morning He returned to the temple.
All the people came to Him, and He sat down and taught them.
3 The scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery.
When they had put her in the middle,
4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of
adultery.
5 (Lev 20:10) Now Moses in the law commanded us to stone such,
but what do You say?"
6 (Mt 19:3; Lk 10:25) They said this, testing Him, that they might have
something of which to accuse Him.
But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger,
as though He did not hear them.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He stood up and said to them,
"Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her."
8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 Being convicted by their conscience, those who heard it went out
one by one, beginning with the eldest even to the last. Jesus was left alone,
and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had stood up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her,
"Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?"
11 (Jn 3:17; 5:14) She said, "No one, Lord."
Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."
Jesus the Light of the World
12 (Jn 12:35; Job 33:28; Isa 49:6) Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying,
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk
in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."
13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, "You bear witness of Yourself.
Your testimony is not true."
14 (Jn 13:3; 16:28) Jesus answered them, "Though I bear witness of Myself,
My testimony is true. For I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
15 (Jn 7:24; 1Sa 16:7) You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
16 (Jn 8:29; 16:32) Yet if I do judge, My judgment is true. For I am not
alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.
17 (Dt 17:6; Mt 18:16) Even in your law it is written that the testimony
of two men is true.
18 (Jn 8:58; 10:30) I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father
that sent Me bears witness of Me."
19 (Jn 16:3; 7:28) Then they said to Him, "Where is Your Father?"
Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father.
If you knew Me, you would know My Father also."
20 (Jn 7:30; Mk 12:41) Jesus spoke these words in the treasury,
as He taught in the temple. No one arrested Him,
for His hour had not yet come.
Where I Am Going You Cannot Come
21 (Jn 7:34; 8:24; 13:33) Again, Jesus said to them, "I am going away,
and you will seek Me, and you will die in your sins.
Where I am going, you cannot come."
22 (Jn 8:48; 8:52) So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself? For He said,
'Where I am going, you cannot come.' "
23 (Jn 3:31; 17:14) He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above.
You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 (Jn 8:21) Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins.
For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
25 (Jn 1:19) They said to Him, "Who are You?"
Jesus said to them, "Just who I have been telling you from the beginning.
26 (Jn 7:28; 15:15) I have many things to say and to judge concerning you,
but He who sent Me is true. So I tell the world what I heard from Him."
27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
28 (Jn 3:14; 5:19) So Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man,
then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing of Myself.
But I speak these things as My Father taught Me.
29 (Jn 4:34; 8:16) He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me
alone, for I always do those things that please Him."
30 (Jn 7:31) As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.
The Truth Will Set You Free
31 (2Jn 1:9) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him,
"If you remain in My word, then you are truly My disciples.
32 (Ro 8:2; Jas 2:12) You shall know the truth,
and the truth shall set you free."
33 (Mt 3:9; Jn 8:39) They answered Him, "We are Abraham's seed
and have never been in bondage to anyone. Why do You say,
'You shall be set free'? "
34 (Ro 6:16; 2Pe 2:19) Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly I say to you,
whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
35 (Ge 21:10) Now a slave does not remain in the house forever,
but a son remains forever.
36 Therefore if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed.
37 (Jn 7:1I) know that you are Abraham's seed. But you seek to kill Me,
because My word has no place in you.
38 (Jn 5:19; 8:41) I am telling what I have seen with My Father,
and you are doing what you have seen with your father."
Your Father the Devil
39 (Gal 3:7; Jn 8:37) They answered Him, "Abraham is our father."
Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do
the works of Abraham.
40 (Jn 8:26) But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you
the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
41 (Isa 63:16; 64:8; Jn 8:38) You are doing the works of your father."
Then they said to Him, "We were not born of sexual immorality.
We have one Father: God."
42 (Jn 17:8; 17:25; 3:17) Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father,
you would love Me, for I came from God and proceeded into the world.
I did not come of My own authority, but He sent Me.
43 (Jer 6:10; Jn 7:17) Why do you not understand My speaking?
Because you cannot bear to hear My word.
44 (Jn 8:38; 8:41) You are of your father the devil, and you want to do
the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning,
and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he lies, he speaks from his own nature,
for he is a liar and the father of lies.
45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
46 (Heb 4:15) Which of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak the truth,
why do you not believe Me?
47 He who is of God hears God's words. Therefore, you do not hear them,
because you are not of God."
The Preexistence of Jesus
48 (Jn 7:20; 4:9) The Jews answered Him,
"Do we not rightly say that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?"
49 Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon. But I honor My Father,
and you dishonor Me.
50 (Jn 5:41; 8:54) I do not seek glory for Myself. There is One who seeks
it and judges.
51 (Lk 2:26; Jn 5:24) Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone keeps My word,
he shall never see death."
52 (Heb 2:9) Then the Jews said to Him, "Now we know that You have a demon.
Abraham and the prophets died, and You say,
'If a man keeps My word, he shall never taste death.'
53 (Jn 4:12) "Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died?
The prophets are dead! Who do You make Yourself out to be?"
54 (Jn 8:50; 17:1) Jesus answered, "If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing.
It is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God.
55 (Jn 8:19; 7:28-29) Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him.
If I say, 'I do not know Him,' I shall be a liar like you.
But I know Him and keep His word.
56 (Heb 11:13; Mt 13:17) Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day.
He saw it and was glad."
57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old.
Have You seen Abraham?"
58 (Ex 3:14; Jn 17:5; 17:24) Jesus said to them,
"Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM."
59 (Jn 11:8; Lev 24:16) Then they took up stones to throw at Him.
But ÂJesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.
Going through their midst, He passed by.

Studying the Scriptures
John 5:39–47
39 (Lk 24:27; 24:44) "You search the Scriptures, because you think in them
you have eternal life. These are they who bear witness of Me.
40 (Mt 23:37; Jn 3:19) Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may
have life.
41 (1Th 2:6; Jn 5:34) "I do not receive honor from men.
42 (Jn 2:25) But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
43 (Mt 24:5; Jn 10:25) I have come in My Father's name,
but you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name,
you will receive him.
44 (Ro 2:29) How can you believe, who receive glory from one another
and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 (Jn 9:28-29; Ro 2:17-29) "Do not think that I shall accuse you
to the Father. There is one who accuses you-Moses, in whom you trust.
46 (Ge 3:15; Dt 18:15) For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me,
for he wrote of Me.
47 (Lk 16:31; 16:29) But if you do not believe his writings,
how will you believe My words?"
J. I. Packer (1926-2020), in his classic work Knowing God,
spoke of four well-known believers in Christ whom he called
"beavers for the Bible." Not all were trained scholars, but each one
exercised great care to know God by gnawing into the Scripture,
like a beaver digs in and gnaws away at a tree. Packer further noted
that knowing God through Bible study is not just for scholars.
"A simple Bible reader and sermon hearer who is full of the Holy Spirit
will develop a far deeper acquaintance with his God
and Saviour than a more learned scholar who is content
with being theologically correct."
Unfortunately, not all who study the Bible do so with humble hearts
with the goal of getting to know the Savior better and becoming more
like Him. In Jesus' day there were those who read the Old Testament
Scriptures, yet they missed the very One they spoke of.
"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them
you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify
about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life" (John 5:39-40).
Do you sometimes find yourself stumped as you read the Bible?
Or have you given up studying the Scriptures altogether?
Bible "beavers" are more than Bible readers. They prayerfully
and carefully gnaw away at Scripture in ways that open their eyes
and hearts to see and love Jesus-the One revealed in it.

Isaiah 43:1
1 But now, thus says the Lord
who created you, O Jacob,
and He who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
Eric, age 4, somehow lost his mother in a large and busy department store.
Found sobbing under a coat rack, the boy tried to tell the security guard
where he was when he got separated from his mother. Finally the guard said,
"what's your name, Son? Who do you belong to?"
The child brightened a bit, gave the guard his name, and within minutes
the frantic mother was reunited with her lost son.
One of the first questions we are asked, both as children and adults, is
"What is your name?" - that is, "Who are you? Who do you belong to?"
Children bear the name of their parents, and most women,
except for professional reasons,
take the name of their husbands when they marry.
Our names are our primary method of identification;
they connect us with our heritage and those we love.
In Isaiah 43:1, God declares that we belong to him.
The Lord who created us and formed us says,
"I have redemmed you; I have called you by name; you are mine." God's
right of ownership in our lives extends beyond the bond of family and friends,
of parent, child, or spouse. We belong first to him;
we are called by him into oneness with him.
The Scripture is filled with images of the Lord's care for us;
when we are lost, he does
not wait for us to find him,
but takes the initiative, like a loving parent
to seek us out. That declaration of belonging can give us
a strong sense of security in our lives. God loves us;
he will never let us go.
Application

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.
More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Assoication of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.
The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede togther for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of PEace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual waysto sahre the Gosepl
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and poeple , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for realtionship with the Father
through the Son.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

21st Day of the Month
a) Pray for the leaders our educational system, that they would
have wisdom and make god honouring decisions

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make
supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life
in all godliness and honesty,
)
b) Pray that those who serve in law enforcement will have the resources
they need and the vigilance their work requires.
Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord and pray to sin no more.
Pray to the Lord "Father, open my eyes to see Jesus in all of Scripture
so that I might love, obey, and serve Him more."
Pray to the Lord and thank Him for accepting you.
Pray to the Lord and pray not to deceive by worldly riches.
Pray to the Lord and give your doubts to Him.

Pray for the leaders our educational system, that they would
have wisdom and make god honouring decisions
Pray that those who serve in law enforcement will have the resources
they need and the vigilance their work requires.
Pray for the success of Bible-smuggling efoorts in North Korea
by air and sea transport.
Pray to the Lord that to know the Holy Spirit.
and Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness
Remember eternity starts now -

John 7-8
John 7
The Unbelief of Jesus' Brothers
1 (Jn 4:3; 7:19) After these things Jesus walked in Galilee.
He would not walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.
2 (Zec 14:16-19) Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.
3 (Mt 12:46; Jn 7:5) His brothers therefore said to Him,
"Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see
the works that You do.
4 Jn 18:20For no one does anything in secret, while he himself seeks
to be known openly. If You do these things, reveal Yourself to the world."
5 (Mk 3:21) For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
6 (Jn 2:4; 7:8) Therefore Jesus told them, "My time has not yet come,
but your time is always fitting.
7 (Jn 3:19; 15:18-19) The world cannot hate you. But it hates Me,
because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.
8 (Jn 7:6) You go up to this feast. I am not going up to this feast yet,
because My time has not yet fully come."
9 Having said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
Jesus at the Feast of Tabernacles
10 However, after His brothers had gone up to the feast,
then He also went up, not publicly, but secretly.
11 (Jn 11:56) Then the Jews looked for Him at the feast,
and said, "Where is He?"
12 (Jn 7:40-43; 9:16) There was much complaining among the people
concerning Him. For some said, "He is a good Man."
Others said, “No, He deceives the people.â€
13 (Jn 9:22; 19:38) Yet no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
14 (Jn 7:28) Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple
and began teaching.
15 (Mt 13:54; Lk 2:47) The Jews marveled, saying, "How has this Man become

16 (Jn 3:11; 14:24) Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not Mine,
but His who sent Me.

I speak on My own authority.

But He who seeks the glory of Him who sent Him is true,

and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"
20 (Jn 8:48; 10:20) The people answered and said,
"You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?"
21 Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you all marvel.
22 (Lev 12:3; Ge 17:10-14) Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision,
you circumcise a man on the Sabbath day (although it did not come from Moses,
but from the Patriarchs).
23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath day, so that the Law of Moses
should not be broken, are you angry at Me because I completely healed a man on
the Sabbath day?
24 (Jn 8:15; Dt 1:16-17) Do not judge according to appearance, but practice
righteous judgment."
Is He the Christ?
25 Then some of them from Jerusalem said, "Is this not He whom they seek to kill?
26 (Jn 7:48) Look! He speaks publicly, and they say nothing to Him.
Do the rulers indeed know that this is really the Christ?
27 (Jn 6:42; Lk 4:22) But we know where this Man is from.
When the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from."
28 (Jn 8:42; 7:14) Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple, cried out,
"You know Me and you likewise know where I am from. I have not come on
My own authority, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
29 (Jn 8:55; Mt 11:27) But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me."
30 (Jn 10:39; 7:6) So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him,
because His hour had not yet come.

Officials Sent to Arrest Jesus
32 The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning Him.
So the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.
33 (Jn 13:33; 16:5) Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you
a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.
34 You will look for Me and you will not find Me. And where I am,
you cannot come."
35 (Jas 1:1; 1Pe 1:1) The Jews said among themselves, "Where does He intend
to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion
among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?
36 (Jn 7:34) What kind of saying is this which He said,
'You will look for Me and you will not find Me.
And where I am, you cannot come'?"
Rivers of Living Water
37 (Isa 55:1; Lev 23:36; Nu 29:35) On the last and greatest day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried out, "If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to Me and drink.
38 (Isa 58:11; Jn 4:14) He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,
out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."
39 (Ac 2:17; Joel 2:28; Ac 2:33) By this He spoke of the Spirit,
whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit
was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Division Among the People
40 (Mt 21:11; Jn 1:21) Therefore when they heard these words,
many of the people said, "Truly, this is the Prophet."
41 (Jn 1:46; 7:52) Others said, "This is the Christ."
But some said, "Will the Christ come out of Galilee?
42 (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:5) Has the Scripture not said that the Christ
comes from the seed of David, out of the town of Bethlehem where David was?"
43 (Jn 9:16; 10:19) So there was a division among the people because of Him.
44 (Jn 7:30) Some of them wanted to arrest Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
The Unbelief of Those in Authority
45 (Jn 7:32) Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees,
who said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?"
46 The officers answered, "No man has ever spoken like this Man."
47 (Jn 7:12) Then the Pharisees answered them, "Are you also deceived?
48 (Jn 12:42; 7:26) Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?
49 Not at all. This crowd who does not know the law is accursed."
50 (Jn 19:39) Nicodemus, being one of them who came to Jesus by night,
said to them,
51 (Pr 18:13) "Does our law judge a man before it hears him
and knows what he is doing?"
52 (Jn 7:41; 1:46) They answered him, "Are you also from Galilee?
Search and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee."
The Woman Caught in Adultery
53 Then everyone went to his own house.

1 (Mt 21:1) But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 (Mt 26:55; Lk 4:20) Early in the morning He returned to the temple.
All the people came to Him, and He sat down and taught them.
3 The scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery.
When they had put her in the middle,
4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of
adultery.
5 (Lev 20:10) Now Moses in the law commanded us to stone such,
but what do You say?"
6 (Mt 19:3; Lk 10:25) They said this, testing Him, that they might have
something of which to accuse Him.
But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger,
as though He did not hear them.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He stood up and said to them,
"Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her."
8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 Being convicted by their conscience, those who heard it went out
one by one, beginning with the eldest even to the last. Jesus was left alone,
and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had stood up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her,
"Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?"
11 (Jn 3:17; 5:14) She said, "No one, Lord."
Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."
Jesus the Light of the World
12 (Jn 12:35; Job 33:28; Isa 49:6) Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying,
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk
in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."
13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, "You bear witness of Yourself.
Your testimony is not true."
14 (Jn 13:3; 16:28) Jesus answered them, "Though I bear witness of Myself,
My testimony is true. For I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
15 (Jn 7:24; 1Sa 16:7) You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
16 (Jn 8:29; 16:32) Yet if I do judge, My judgment is true. For I am not
alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.
17 (Dt 17:6; Mt 18:16) Even in your law it is written that the testimony
of two men is true.
18 (Jn 8:58; 10:30) I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father
that sent Me bears witness of Me."

Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father.
If you knew Me, you would know My Father also."

as He taught in the temple. No one arrested Him,
for His hour had not yet come.
Where I Am Going You Cannot Come
21 (Jn 7:34; 8:24; 13:33) Again, Jesus said to them, "I am going away,
and you will seek Me, and you will die in your sins.
Where I am going, you cannot come."
22 (Jn 8:48; 8:52) So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself? For He said,
'Where I am going, you cannot come.' "
23 (Jn 3:31; 17:14) He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above.
You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 (Jn 8:21) Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins.
For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
25 (Jn 1:19) They said to Him, "Who are You?"
Jesus said to them, "Just who I have been telling you from the beginning.
26 (Jn 7:28; 15:15) I have many things to say and to judge concerning you,
but He who sent Me is true. So I tell the world what I heard from Him."
27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
28 (Jn 3:14; 5:19) So Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man,
then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing of Myself.
But I speak these things as My Father taught Me.
29 (Jn 4:34; 8:16) He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me
alone, for I always do those things that please Him."
30 (Jn 7:31) As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.
The Truth Will Set You Free
31 (2Jn 1:9) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him,
"If you remain in My word, then you are truly My disciples.
32 (Ro 8:2; Jas 2:12) You shall know the truth,
and the truth shall set you free."
33 (Mt 3:9; Jn 8:39) They answered Him, "We are Abraham's seed
and have never been in bondage to anyone. Why do You say,
'You shall be set free'? "
34 (Ro 6:16; 2Pe 2:19) Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly I say to you,
whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
35 (Ge 21:10) Now a slave does not remain in the house forever,
but a son remains forever.
36 Therefore if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed.

Your Father the Devil

Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do

40 (Jn 8:26) But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you
the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

Then they said to Him, "We were not born of sexual immorality.
We have one Father: God."

I did not come of My own authority, but He sent Me.
43 (Jer 6:10; Jn 7:17) Why do you not understand My speaking?
Because you cannot bear to hear My word.

the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning,
and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

The Preexistence of Jesus

"Do we not rightly say that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?"

and you dishonor Me.

Studying the Scriptures
John 5:39–47
39 (Lk 24:27; 24:44) "You search the Scriptures, because you think in them
you have eternal life. These are they who bear witness of Me.
40 (Mt 23:37; Jn 3:19) Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may
have life.
41 (1Th 2:6; Jn 5:34) "I do not receive honor from men.
42 (Jn 2:25) But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
43 (Mt 24:5; Jn 10:25) I have come in My Father's name,
but you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name,
you will receive him.
44 (Ro 2:29) How can you believe, who receive glory from one another
and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 (Jn 9:28-29; Ro 2:17-29) "Do not think that I shall accuse you
to the Father. There is one who accuses you-Moses, in whom you trust.
46 (Ge 3:15; Dt 18:15) For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me,
for he wrote of Me.

J. I. Packer (1926-2020), in his classic work Knowing God,
spoke of four well-known believers in Christ whom he called
"beavers for the Bible." Not all were trained scholars, but each one
exercised great care to know God by gnawing into the Scripture,
like a beaver digs in and gnaws away at a tree. Packer further noted
that knowing God through Bible study is not just for scholars.
"A simple Bible reader and sermon hearer who is full of the Holy Spirit
will develop a far deeper acquaintance with his God
and Saviour than a more learned scholar who is content
with being theologically correct."
Unfortunately, not all who study the Bible do so with humble hearts
with the goal of getting to know the Savior better and becoming more
like Him. In Jesus' day there were those who read the Old Testament
Scriptures, yet they missed the very One they spoke of.
"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them
you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify
about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life" (John 5:39-40).
Do you sometimes find yourself stumped as you read the Bible?
Or have you given up studying the Scriptures altogether?
Bible "beavers" are more than Bible readers. They prayerfully
and carefully gnaw away at Scripture in ways that open their eyes
and hearts to see and love Jesus-the One revealed in it.

Isaiah 43:1
1 But now, thus says the Lord
who created you, O Jacob,
and He who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
Eric, age 4, somehow lost his mother in a large and busy department store.
Found sobbing under a coat rack, the boy tried to tell the security guard
where he was when he got separated from his mother. Finally the guard said,
"what's your name, Son? Who do you belong to?"
The child brightened a bit, gave the guard his name, and within minutes
the frantic mother was reunited with her lost son.
One of the first questions we are asked, both as children and adults, is
"What is your name?" - that is, "Who are you? Who do you belong to?"
Children bear the name of their parents, and most women,
except for professional reasons,
take the name of their husbands when they marry.
Our names are our primary method of identification;
they connect us with our heritage and those we love.
In Isaiah 43:1, God declares that we belong to him.
The Lord who created us and formed us says,
"I have redemmed you; I have called you by name; you are mine." God's
right of ownership in our lives extends beyond the bond of family and friends,
of parent, child, or spouse. We belong first to him;
we are called by him into oneness with him.
The Scripture is filled with images of the Lord's care for us;
when we are lost, he does
not wait for us to find him,
but takes the initiative, like a loving parent
to seek us out. That declaration of belonging can give us
a strong sense of security in our lives. God loves us;
he will never let us go.

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.
More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Assoication of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.
The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede togther for:

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

a) Pray for the leaders our educational system, that they would
have wisdom and make god honouring decisions
(
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make
supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life
in all godliness and honesty,
)
b) Pray that those who serve in law enforcement will have the resources
they need and the vigilance their work requires.
Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord and pray to sin no more.
Pray to the Lord "Father, open my eyes to see Jesus in all of Scripture
so that I might love, obey, and serve Him more."
Pray to the Lord and thank Him for accepting you.
Pray to the Lord and pray not to deceive by worldly riches.
Pray to the Lord and give your doubts to Him.
Pray for Prince Edward Island and Let us intercede togther for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of Peace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual ways to share the Gosepl
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and poeple , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for realtionship with the Father
through the Son.
