John 9-10
John 9
The Healing of a Man Born Blind
1 As Jesus passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.
2 (Jn 9:34; Ex 20:5) His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man
or his parents, that he was born blind?"
3 (Jn 11:4) Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned.
But it happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
4 (Jn 12:35; 4:34) I must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day.
Night is coming when no one can work.
5 (Jn 8:12; 12:46) While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
6 (Mk 7:33; 8:23) When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made
clay with the saliva. He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 (Jn 11:37; Isa 35:5) and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam"
(which means "Sent"). So he went away and washed, and returned seeing.
8 The neighbors and those who had previously seen that he was blind said,
"Is this not he who sat and begged?"
9 Some said, "This is he."
Others said, "He is like him."
But he said, "I am he."
10 So they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?"
11 (Jn 9:6-7) He answered, "A Man called Jesus made clay, anointed my eyes,
and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.' So I went away
and washed, and I received my sight."
12 They said to him, "Where is He?"
He said, "I do not know."
The Pharisees Investigate the Healing
13 They brought the man who had been blind to the Pharisees.
14 (Jn 5:9) Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the clay
and opened his eyes.
15 Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight.
He said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
16 (Jn 7:43; 10:19) Some of the Pharisees said, "This Man is not from God,
because He does not keep the Sabbath day."
Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?"
So there was division among them.
17 (Jn 4:19; 6:14) Then they said to the blind man again,
"What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?"
He said, "He is a prophet."
18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind
and received his sight, until they called the parents
of the one who had received his sight.
19 They asked them, "Is this your son, whom you say was born blind?
How then does he now see?"
20 His parents answered them, "We know that this is our son
and that he was born blind.
21 But how he now sees, we do not know, or who opened his eyes,
we do not know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself."
22 (Jn 7:13; 16:2) His parents said this, because they feared the Jews.
For the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed
that He was the Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.
23 (Jn 9:21) Therefore his parents said, "He is of age. Ask him."
24 (Jos 7:19; Jn 9:16) So again they called the man who was blind and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this Man is a sinner.â€
25 He said, "I do not know if He is a sinner.
I know one thing: I was blind, but now I see."
26 Then they said to him again, "What did He do to you?
How did He open your eyes?"
27 He answered them, "I told you already, and you did not listen.
Why do you want to hear it again?
Do you also want to become His disciples?"
28 (Ro 2:17) Then they insulted him and said, "You are His disciple,
but we are Moses' disciples.
29 (Jn 8:14) We know that God has spoken to Moses. As for this fellow,
we do not know where He is from."
30 (Jn 3:10; 12:37) The man answered, "Well, here is an amazing thing!
You do not know where He is from, and yet He opened my eyes.
31 (Pr 15:29; 28:9; Isa 1:15) We know that God does not listen to sinners.
But if anyone is a worshipper of God and does His will, He hears him.
32 Since the world began, it has never been heard that anyone opened
the eyes of someone born blind.
33 (Jn 3:2; 9:16) If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing."
34 (Jn 9:2; 9:22) They answered him, "You were completely born in sin.
Are you teaching us?" And they threw him out.
Spiritual Blindness
35 (1Jn 5:13; Jn 10:36) Jesus heard that they had thrown him out,
and when He found him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"
36 (Ro 10:14) He answered, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"
37 (Jn 4:26) Jesus said to him, "You have seen Him,
and it is He who speaks with you."
38 (Mt 28:9) Then he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshipped Him.
39 (Lk 4:18; Jn 3:19) Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment,
that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind."
40 Some Pharisees who were with Him heard these words,
and said to Him, "Are we also blind?"
41 (Pr 26:12) Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would have no sin.
But now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains.

The Parable of the Shepherd
1 "Truly, truly I say to you, he who does not enter by the door
into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 (Jn 10:14) But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 (Jn 10:4; 10:16) To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice.
He calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.
4 (Jn 10:16) When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them.
And the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 Yet they will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him.
For they do not know the voice of strangers."
6 Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand
what He was telling them.
Jesus the Good Shepherd
7 (Jn 10:9; 10:1) Then Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly I say to you,
I am the door of the sheep.
8 (Eze 34:2; Jn 10:1) All who came before Me are thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 (Jn 10:1; 14:6) I am the door. If anyone enters through Me,
he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 (Jn 6:33; Heb 7:25) The thief does not come, except to steal and kill
and destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly.
11 (Isa 40:11; Eze 34:23; Heb 13:20) "I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 (Eze 34:2-6; Zec 11:16-17) But he who is a hired hand,
and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep,
sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and runs away.
So the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.
13 The hired hand runs away because he is a hired hand
and does not care about the sheep.
14 (Jn 10:27; Isa 53:11) "I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep
and am known by My own.
15 (Mt 11:27; Jn 10:11; Isa 53:10) Even as the Father knows Me,
so I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 (Isa 56:8; Jn 11:52) I have other sheep who are not of this fold.
I must also bring them, and they will hear My voice. There will
be one flock and one shepherd.
17 (Jn 10:11; Heb 2:9) Therefore My Father loves Me,
because I lay down My life that I may take it up again.
18 (Jn 15:10; 14:31) No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down Myself.
I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again.
I received this command from My Father."
19 (Jn 9:16) Therefore there was a division again among the Jews
because of these sayings.
20 (Mk 3:21; Jn 7:20) Many of them said, "He has a demon and is insane.
Why do you listen to Him?"
21 (Ex 4:11; Ps 146:8) Others said, "These are not the words of one who
has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"
Jesus Rejected by the Jews
22 The Feast of the Dedication (Or Hanukkah.) was at Jerusalem,
and it was winter.
23 (Ac 3:11; 5:12) Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's Porch.
24 (Jn 1:19) Then the Jews surrounded Him, saying, "How long will You keep
us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."
25 (Jn 8:58; 10:38) Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you did not believe.
The works that I do in My Father's name bear witness of Me.
26 (Jn 8:47) But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep,
as I said to you.
27 (Jn 10:14; 10:16) My sheep hear My voice, and I know them,
and they follow Me.
28 (Jn 6:37; 6:39-40) I give them eternal life. They shall never perish,
nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand.
29 (Jn 14:28; 17:2) My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all.
No one is able to snatch them from My Father's hand.
30 (Jn 14:9; Mt 11:27) My Father and I are one."
31 (Jn 8:59) Again the Jews took up stones to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from My Father.
For which of those works do you stone Me?"
33 (Jn 5:18; Lev 24:16; Jn 10:30) The Jews answered Him,
"We are not stoning You for a good work, but for blasphemy,
and because You, being a Man, claim to be God."
34 (Jn 12:34; 15:25) Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law,
'I said, "You are gods"(Ps 82:6.)'?
35 If He called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came,
and the Scripture cannot be broken,
36 (Jn 3:17; Jer 1:5) do you say of Him, whom the Father has sanctified
and sent into the world, 'You blaspheme,' because I said,
'I am the Son of God'?
37 (Jn 15:24; 10:25) If I am not doing the works of My Father,
do not believe Me.
38 (Jn 14:20; 10:30) But if I do them, though you do not believe Me,
believe the works, that you may know
and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him."
39 (Jn 7:30; 8:59) Again they tried to seize Him,
but He escaped from their hands.
40 (Jn 1:28) Then He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place
where John was baptizing at first, and He remained there.
41 (Jn 1:29-30; 1:33-34) Many came to Him and said,
"John did no sign. But everything that John said about this Man was true."
42 (Jn 7:31) And many believed in Him there.

Live to Serve
1 Peter 4:8-11
8 (Pr 10:12; Jas 5:20) Above all things, have unfailing love for one another,
because love covers a multitude of sins.
9 (Php 2:14; 1Ti 3:2) Show hospitality to one another without complaining.
10 (1Co 4:1-2; Lk 12:42) As everyone has received a gift, even so serve
one another with it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 (Ac 7:38; 1Co 10:31) If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.
If anyone serves, let him serve with the strength that God supplies, so that
God in all things may be glorified through ÂJesus Christ, to whom be praise
and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
After ten-year-old Chelsea received an elaborate art set, she discovered that
God used art to help her feel better when she was sad. When she found out that
some kids didn't have art supplies readily available, she wanted to help them.
So when it was time for her birthday party, she asked her friends not to bring
her gifts. Instead, she invited them to donate art supplies and help fill
boxes for children in need.
Later, with her family's help, she started Chelsea's Charity. She began
asking more people to help her fill boxes so she could help more kids.
She has even taught art tips to groups who have received her boxes.
After a local newscaster interviewed Chelsea, people started donating
supplies from all over the country. As Chelsea's Charity continues sending
art supplies internationally, this young girl is demonstrating
how God can use us when we're willing to live to serve others.
Chelsea's compassion and willingness to share reflects the heart of
a faithful steward. The apostle Peter encourages all believers in Jesus
to be faithful stewards as they "love each other deeply" by sharing
the resources and talents God has given them (1 Peter 4:8–11).
Our small acts of love can inspire others to join us in giving.
God can even rally supporters to serve alongside us.
As we rely on Him, we can live to serve and give Him the glory He deserves.

How can you rely on God to help you serve others today?
In what way has God been nudging you to serve Him that seems
too big for you to handle alone?

Phil 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence,
but so much more in my absence, work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.
13 For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
"I just can't do it!" Marlys, a carrer woman in her 30s, was struggling to fit
her new Christian pricinples into the business world. Accustomed to the
cutthroat tactics of the corporate hierarchy, she has a hard time knowing
Jesus' examples of grace and mercy applied.
Marlys was right. She couldn't do it. In our own strength, none of us is able
to "live the Christian life." Someone has said, " The Christian life isn't
difficult -- it's impossible!" Only the power of the Holy Spirit is
effective to work the needed changes in our priorities and behaviour;
only God can accomplish what he calls us to do.
In Phillippians 2:12, Paul says "work it out." If we stop there,
we are likely to throw up our hands in despair.
But the good news appears in verse 13:
" For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure."
WE are not left on our own to figure out how to live the Christian life.
God gives us both the will and the ability to obey him, to live in a way
that will please him.
The key to a God-pleasing life is not performance, but obedience. God does not
expect us to "do great things" for him, to deserve his love and grace.
Our part in the process of salvation is to respond in obedience to the Lord,
to say "yes" to wht he asks of us. We cannot change ourselves;
we cannot even know ourselves apart from the Spirit's insight. But
as we cooperate with him, as we agree to be obedient, the Spirit changes us
within, and those changes are "worked out" into our lives.

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.
More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Assoication of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.
The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede togther for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of PEace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual waysto sahre the Gosepl
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and poeple , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for realtionship with the Father
through the Son.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

a) Pray for the Province of Quebec
I) Pray for the leaders of Quebec,
that God's Spirit would influence
then to act justly,
serve with integrity
and honour high moral standards. ( 1 Tim 2:1 - 4
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,
3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good
and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth. )
II) Pray for the churches of the province,
that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.
III) Pray that the Lord would use
the Finding the Hope Campaign
and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus
b) Pray that the influence of the Holy Spirit would dissolve
every argument and pretension exalted against the knowledge
of God.

Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord and pray to Him who can open your eyes
for He is the Good Shepherd.
Pray to the Lord "Faithful Father, please give me all I need to serve You
by loving others with my words and actions today."
Pray to the Lord and pray to live an obedient life in the Lord.
Pray to the Lord and ask him what to give.
Pray to the Lord and trust in His Word.
Pray for Prince Edward Island and Let us intercede togther for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of Peace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community

Spiritual Blindness

The Parable of the Shepherd
1 "Truly, truly I say to you, he who does not enter by the door
into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 (Jn 10:14) But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 (Jn 10:4; 10:16) To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice.
He calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.
4 (Jn 10:16) When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them.
And the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 Yet they will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him.
For they do not know the voice of strangers."
6 Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand
what He was telling them.
Jesus the Good Shepherd
7 (Jn 10:9; 10:1) Then Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly I say to you,
I am the door of the sheep.
8 (Eze 34:2; Jn 10:1) All who came before Me are thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 (Jn 10:1; 14:6) I am the door. If anyone enters through Me,
he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 (Jn 6:33; Heb 7:25) The thief does not come, except to steal and kill
and destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly.
11 (Isa 40:11; Eze 34:23; Heb 13:20) "I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 (Eze 34:2-6; Zec 11:16-17) But he who is a hired hand,
and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep,

So the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

Jesus Rejected by the Jews
22 The Feast of the Dedication (Or Hanukkah.) was at Jerusalem,
and it was winter.

Live to Serve
1 Peter 4:8-11
8 (Pr 10:12; Jas 5:20) Above all things, have unfailing love for one another,
because love covers a multitude of sins.
9 (Php 2:14; 1Ti 3:2) Show hospitality to one another without complaining.
10 (1Co 4:1-2; Lk 12:42) As everyone has received a gift, even so serve
one another with it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 (Ac 7:38; 1Co 10:31) If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.
If anyone serves, let him serve with the strength that God supplies, so that
God in all things may be glorified through ÂJesus Christ, to whom be praise
and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
After ten-year-old Chelsea received an elaborate art set, she discovered that
God used art to help her feel better when she was sad. When she found out that
some kids didn't have art supplies readily available, she wanted to help them.
So when it was time for her birthday party, she asked her friends not to bring
her gifts. Instead, she invited them to donate art supplies and help fill
boxes for children in need.
Later, with her family's help, she started Chelsea's Charity. She began
asking more people to help her fill boxes so she could help more kids.
She has even taught art tips to groups who have received her boxes.
After a local newscaster interviewed Chelsea, people started donating
supplies from all over the country. As Chelsea's Charity continues sending
art supplies internationally, this young girl is demonstrating
how God can use us when we're willing to live to serve others.
Chelsea's compassion and willingness to share reflects the heart of
a faithful steward. The apostle Peter encourages all believers in Jesus
to be faithful stewards as they "love each other deeply" by sharing
the resources and talents God has given them (1 Peter 4:8–11).
Our small acts of love can inspire others to join us in giving.
God can even rally supporters to serve alongside us.
As we rely on Him, we can live to serve and give Him the glory He deserves.

Phil 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence,
but so much more in my absence, work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.
13 For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
"I just can't do it!" Marlys, a carrer woman in her 30s, was struggling to fit
her new Christian pricinples into the business world. Accustomed to the
cutthroat tactics of the corporate hierarchy, she has a hard time knowing
Jesus' examples of grace and mercy applied.
Marlys was right. She couldn't do it. In our own strength, none of us is able
to "live the Christian life." Someone has said, " The Christian life isn't
difficult -- it's impossible!" Only the power of the Holy Spirit is
effective to work the needed changes in our priorities and behaviour;
only God can accomplish what he calls us to do.
In Phillippians 2:12, Paul says "work it out." If we stop there,
we are likely to throw up our hands in despair.
But the good news appears in verse 13:
" For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure."
WE are not left on our own to figure out how to live the Christian life.
God gives us both the will and the ability to obey him, to live in a way
that will please him.
The key to a God-pleasing life is not performance, but obedience. God does not
expect us to "do great things" for him, to deserve his love and grace.
Our part in the process of salvation is to respond in obedience to the Lord,
to say "yes" to wht he asks of us. We cannot change ourselves;
we cannot even know ourselves apart from the Spirit's insight. But
as we cooperate with him, as we agree to be obedient, the Spirit changes us
within, and those changes are "worked out" into our lives.

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.
More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Assoication of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.
The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede togther for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of PEace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual waysto sahre the Gosepl
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and poeple , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for realtionship with the Father
through the Son.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

that God's Spirit would influence

for He is the Good Shepherd.
Pray to the Lord "Faithful Father, please give me all I need to serve You

Pray to the Lord and pray to live an obedient life in the Lord.
Pray to the Lord and ask him what to give.
Pray to the Lord and trust in His Word.
