Day 30 - 30 Jan 2021

Day 30, 30 Jan 2021 (I turn 52 today)

Exodus 1 - 3

EXODUS 1

Israel Oppressed

1 (Ge 46:8–26; 35:23–26) Now these are the names of the sons of Israel,

which came into Egypt (each man and his household came with Jacob):

2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;

3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin;

4 Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 (Ge 46:26–27; Dt 10:22) All the people who came from the seed of Jacob

were seventy people, but Joseph was in Egypt already.

6 (Ge 50:26) Joseph died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 (Ge 46:3; Dt 26:5) Nevertheless, the sons of Israel were fruitful, and

increased abundantly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty,

Or numerous; (also in v. 20.) so that the land was filled with them.

8 (Ac 7:18) Now there rose up a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.

9 (Ps 105:24–25) He said to his people,

"Surely, the people of the sons of Israel are more numerous

and powerful than we.

10 (Ac 7:19; Ps 83:3–4) Come, let us deal wisely with them,

lest they multiply, and it come to pass that when any war breaks out,

they also join our enemies, and fight against us, and escape from the land."

(Populism)

11 (Ge 15:13; 47:11) Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them

with their labor. They built for Pharaoh storage cities: Pithom and Rameses.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew

so that as a result they abhorred the sons of Israel.

13 The Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor,

14 (Ex 2:23; 6:9) and they made their lives bitter with hard service

—in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field,

all their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.

15 The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives,

of which the name of one was Shiphrah,

and the name of the other Puah,

16 and he said, "When you perform the office of a midwife to the Hebrew

women and see them on the stools, if it is a son, then you must kill him,

but if it is a daughter, then she may live."

17 (Ac 5:29; Pr 16:6; Da 3:16–18) However, the midwives feared God,

and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but kept the male

children alive. 18 The king of Egypt called for the midwives

and said to them, "Why have you done this thing

and preserved the male children's lives?"

19 The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women

are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous

and give birth before the midwives come to them."

20 (Ex 1:12; Pr 11:18) Therefore God dealt well with the midwives,

and the people multiplied and grew very mighty.

21 (1Sa 2:35; 1Ki 11:38) So it happened that because the midwives feared God,

He gave them families.

22 (Ac 7:19) Pharaoh charged all his people, saying,

"You must cast every son that is born into the river,

and you must preserve every daughter’s life."

EXODUS 2

The Birth of Moses

1 (Nu 26:59) Now a man of the house of Levi went

and married a daughter of Levi.

2 (Ac 7:20; Heb 11:23) And the woman conceived and bore a son,

and when she saw him, that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months.

3 (Isa 18:2) When she could no longer hide him, she took for him a container

made of bulrushes and daubed it with tar and with pitch.

She then put the child in it and set it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

4 (Ex 15:20; Nu 26:59) Then his sister stood afar off so that

she might know what would happen to him.

5 The daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river

while her maidens walked along by the river's side,

and when she saw the container among the reeds, she sent her maid,

and she retrieved it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child. He was crying.

She had compassion on him and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."

7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and call for you

a nursing woman of the Hebrew women so that she may nurse the child for you?"

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Go.” So the young girl went

and called the child’s mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her,

"Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages."

So the woman took the child and nursed him.

10 (Heb 11:24) Now the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter,

and he became her son. And she called his name Moses and said,

"Because I drew him out of the water."

11 (Heb 11:24–26; Ex 1:11) In those days, when Moses was grown,

he went out to his brothers and looked on their burdens;

and he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

12 He looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed

the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 When he went out the next day,

two men of the Hebrews struggled with each other; and he said to him

that did the wrong, "Why do you strike your companion?"

14 (Ge 19:9; Lk 12:14) He said, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us?

Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?" Moses feared and said,

"Surely this thing is known.”

Moses Flees to Midian

15 (Ac 7:29; Heb 11:27) Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay

Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh and settled in the land of

Midian, and he dwelled by a well.

16 (Ge 24:11; Ex 3:1)Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters,

and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

17 (Ge 29:10) Then shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up

and helped them, and watered their flock.

18 (Ex 3:1; 4:18) When they came to Reuel their father,

he said, "Why is it you have come back so soon today?"

19 And they said, "An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds

and also drew water for us and watered the flock."

20 (Ge 31:54; 43:25) He said to his daughters, "So where is he?

Why is it that you have left the man? Call him so that he may eat bread."

21 Moses was content to dwell with the man, and he gave Zipporah, his daughter,

to Moses. 22 (Ac 7:29; Heb 11:13–14) Then she gave birth to a son,

and he called his name Gershom, for he said, "I have been a sojourner

in a foreign land."

23 (Jas 5:4; Ac 7:30) In the passing of time the king of Egypt died.

And the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out,

and their cry came up to God on account of the bondage.

24 (Ex 6:5; Ps 105:42) God heard their groaning, and God remembered

His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 25 (Ex 4:31; Lk 1:25) God looked

on the children of Israel, and God had concern for them.

EXODUS 3

Moses at the Burning Bush

1 (1Ki 19:8; Nu 10:29) Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law,

the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert

and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

2 (Dt 33:16; Isa 63:9) The angel of the Lord appeared to him

in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush,

and he looked, and the bush burned with fire, but the bush was not consumed.

3 (Ac 7:31) So Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight,

why the bush is not burnt."

4 (Dt 33:16) When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see,

God called to him from out of the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses."

And he said, "Here am I.'

5 (Jos 5:15; Ac 7:33) He said, "Do not approach here. Remove your sandals

from off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground."

6 (Ex 4:5; Mt 22:32) Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father,

the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob."

And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

7 (Ps 106:44; Ex 2:23–25) The Lord said, "I have surely seen the affliction

of My people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry on account

of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

8 (Ge 50:24; 15:18–21; Ex 13:5) Therefore, I have come down to deliver

them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that

land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey,

to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites,

the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 (Ex 2:23; 3:7) Now therefore,

the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me. Moreover,

I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

10 (Mic 6:4; Ps 105:26) Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh

so that you may bring forth My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

11 (Ex 6:12; 1Sa 18:18) Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go

to Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?"

12 (Jos 1:5; Ge 31:3) And He said, "Certainly I will be with you, and this will

be a sign to you, that I have sent you: When you have brought forth the

people out of Egypt, all of you shall serve God on this mountain."

13 (Ex 3:14; Pr 30:4) Moses said to God, "I am going

to the children of Israel and will say to them,

'The God of your fathers has sent me to you.'

When they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"

14 (Ex 6:3; Jn 8:58; Heb 13:8) And God said to Moses, "I am who I am,"

(The Heb. to be, related to the covenantal name of God translated Lord. )

and He said, "You will say this to the children of Israel,

'I am has sent me to you.' "

15 (Ps 135:13; Hos 12:5) God, moreover, said to Moses,

"Thus you will say to the children of Israel,

'The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,

and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.

This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

16 (Ex 4:29; 4:31) "Go, and gather the elders of Israel together,

and say to them, 'The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,

of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, "I am indeed concerned

about you and what has been done to you in Egypt.

17 (Ge 15:13–21; 46:4) Therefore, I said, I will bring you up

out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites,

the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, to a land

flowing with milk and honey." '

18 (Ex 7:16; 9:1) "They shall listen to your voice, and you shall come,

you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you must say to him,

'The Lord, the God of the Hebrews has met with us. Therefore, now, let us go,

we ask you, three days' journey into the wilderness so that we may

sacrifice to the Lord our God' 19 (Ex 5:2; 6:1) However, I know

that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no,

not even under a forceful hand.

20 (Ex 9:15; Dt 6:22) So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt

with all My wonders which I will perform in its midst, and after that

he will let you go.

21 (Ex 12:36; 11:3) "I will give this people favor in the sight

of the Egyptians, and it will come to pass, that, when you go,

you will not go empty-handed.

22 (Eze 39:10; Ex 11:2) But every woman will borrow of her neighbor,

and of her that sojourns in her house, articles of silver,

and articles of gold, and clothing,

and you will put them on your sons, and on your daughters—in this way

you will plunder the Egyptians."

(THe Lord remembers his promise, Recall God said to Abraham that his people

will stay 400 years in Egypt, Too bad this pharoah forget

Joseph and how he made Egypt prosperous. Not that Egypt was not

only allow the God of Abraham to be worshipped amongst the poeple)

entitled Wearing Our Courage

2 Kings 1:9-15

9 (2Ki 6:13–14) Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty

with his fifty men. He went up to Elijah, and there he was,

sitting on the top of a hill, and he said to him, "Man of God,

the king says, 'Come down.'"

10 (Lk 9:54; 1Ki 18:36–38) But Elijah answered the captain of fifty:

"If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven

and consume you and your fifty men." Then fire came down from heaven

and consumed him and his fifty men.

11 Again the king sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men.

He said, "Man of God, thus says the king: Come down quickly."

12 Elijah answered them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down

from heaven and consume you and your fifty men."

Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

13 (Isa 1:5) Then again the king sent a third captain of fifty

with his fifty men. The third captain of fifty went up, came

and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him,

"Man of God, may my life and the life of these fifty servants

of yours be precious in your sight. 14 See, fire came down from heaven

and consumed the two captains of the former fifties with their fifty men.

May my life now be precious in your sight."

15 (Isa 51:12; Jer 1:17) Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah,

"Go down with him. Do not be afraid of him."

So he arose and went down with him to the king.

Andrew lives in a country that's closed to the gospel.

When I asked how he keeps his faith a secret,

he said he doesn't. He wears a button that advertises his church,

and whenever he's arrested he tells the police that "they need Jesus too."

Andrew has courage because he knows who's on his side.

Elijah refused to be intimidated, even when the king of Israel

sent fifty soldiers to arrest him (2 Kings 1:9). The prophet knew God

was with him, and he called down fire that consumed the platoon.

The king sent more soldiers, and Elijah did it again (v. 12).

The king sent more, but the third platoon had heard about the others.

The captain begged Elijah to spare his soldiers' lives.

They were more afraid of him than he;d ever been of them,

so the angel of the Lord told Elijah it was safe to go with them (vv. 13–15).

Jesus doesn't want us to call down fire on our enemies. When the disciples

asked if they could call down fire on a Samaritan village,

Jesus rebuked them (Luke 9:51–55). We're living in a different time.

But Jesus does want us to have Elijah's boldness—to be ready to tell

everyone about the Savior who died for them. It may seem like

one person taking on fifty, but it's actually One on fifty.

Jesus provides what we need to courageously love and reach out to others.

Reflect & Pray

How does Jesus provide what you need to be courageous?

What does God want you to know and do?

Holy Spirit, thank You for living in me.

Fill me with courage as I tell others about Jesus.

Week 7 Promises of Grace - Day 7 Support System

Deut 33:27

27 (Ge 49:24; Ps 90:1–2) The eternal God is your refuge,

and underneath you are the everlasting arms;

He will drive out the enemy before you,

and will say, “Destroy them.”

Misty was only 4 when her parents divorced. Her dad moved away,

and the following summer she went with her grandparents to visit him

in his new apartment. In the swimming pool one afternoon, Grandpa stood

Misty on the side of the pool, held out his arm, and called, "Jump1"

But Misty, normally a little fish, suddenly seemed afraid of the water,

and stood trembling on the sidewalk shaking her head.

"Jump, Misty - I'll catch you!"

"Are you sure, Grandpa?"

"Of course I'm sure! Jump!"

But Misty wouldn't jump. Finally Grandpa, a bit irritated, said, "Misty, do

you thinkI Won't catch you? Do you think I'll just walk away?"

The tears spilled over, and Misty sobbed. "Daddy did!"

Human support systems often fail us. We disappoint those we love, and

are disappointed by them. People simply aren't there for us

when we need them most.

But God promises that with him things are different. He's always there,

always listening, always caring, always ready to support us.

"Underneath his everlasting arms".

Sometimes those arms reach out clothed in flesh, in the warm embrace

of a loved one. Sometimes they support us through the Word, sometimes through

the quiet peace that comes in prayer. Sometimes we are not aware of them

at all, but they still hold us up, suppoting, surrounding, loving.

Underneath us are the everlasting arms.

Application

a) Have I ever felt abandoned by someone I loved and depended upon?

b) How have I experienced the faithfulness of God's "Everlasting arms"?

c) Now can this verse help me in times when I feel my supports have given way?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Mattehw 6:25-33

Care and Anxiety

Lk 12:22–34

25 (Mt 6:31; 6:34; Php 4:6) "Therefore, I say to you, take no thought about

your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor about your body,

what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body than clothing?

26 (Job 38:41; Ps 147:9) Look at the birds of the air, for they do not sow,

nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not much better than they? 27 Who among you by taking thought

can add a cubit(A cubit is about half a meter.) to his stature?

28 (Mt 6:25; 6:31) "Why take thought about clothing? Consider the

lilies of the field, how they grow: They neither work, nor do they spin.

29 (1Ki 10:4–7; 2Ch 9:4–6) Yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory

was not dressed like one of these. 30 (Mt 8:26; 14:31) Therefore, if God so

clothes the grass of the field, which today is here and tomorrow is thrown

into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 (1Pe 5:7) Therefore, take no thought, saying, 'What shall we eat?'

or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

32 (Mt 6:8; Lk 12:30)(For the Gentiles seek after all these things.)

For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

33 (1Ti 4:8; 1Ki 3:11–13)

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,

and all these things shall be given to you.

34 (Mt 6:25) Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow,

for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself.

Sufficient to the day is the trouble thereof.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

God's Inexhaustible Strength

Philip 4:10-13

10 (2Co 11:9) I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last you have revived

your concern for me. Regarding this, you did care, but you lacked opportunity.

11 (Php 3:8; 1Ti 6:6–9) I do not speak because I have need, for I have learned

in whatever state I am to be content.

12 (2Co 11:27; 11:9) I know both how to face humble circumstances and how

to have abundance. Everywhere and in all things I have learned the secret,

both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13 (2Co 12:9–10; Eph 3:16) I can do all things because of Christ

who strengthens me.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 “Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .
