Day 9 - 9 Jan 2021

Day 9 , 9 Jan 2021

Job 24 - 28

1 (Ac 1:7) "Since times of judgment are not kept by the Almighty,

why do they who know Him not see His days?

2(Dt 19:14; 27:17) Some remove the landmarks;

they violently take away flocks and feed on them.

3 (Dt 24:6) They drive away the donkey of the orphan;

they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.

4 (Pr 28:28; Job 24:14) They turn away the needy;

the poor of the earth are forced to hide.

5 (Job 39:5–7; Ps 104:23) Behold, as wild donkeys in the desert,

they go out to their work, rising early for a prey.

The wilderness yields food for them and for their children.

6 They gather their fodder in the field,

and they glean in the vineyard of the wicked.

7 (Ex 22:26–27; Job 22:6) They cause the naked to lodge without clothing,

and they have no covering in the cold.

8 (La 4:5) They are wet with the showers of the mountains

and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

9 They snatch the fatherless from the breast

and take a pledge from the poor.

10 They cause him to go naked without clothing,

and they take away the sheaf from the hungry.

11 They press out oil within their walls

and tread their winepresses, yet suffer thirst.

12 Men groan from outside the city,

and the soul of the wounded cries out;

yet God does not charge them with wrong.

13 (Jn 3:19–2)0 "They are those who rebel against the light;

they do not know its ways

nor abide in its paths.

14 The murderer, rising with the light, kills the poor and needy,

and in the night he is like a thief.

15 (Ps 10:11) Also the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight,

saying, 'No eye will see me';

and he disguises his face.

16 (Jn 3:20) In the dark they break into houses,

which they had marked for themselves in the daytime;

they do not know the light.

17 (Job 3:5) For the morning is the same to them as the shadow of death;

if someone recognizes them,

they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

18 "He is swift as the waters.

Their portion is cursed in the earth.

They do not turn toward the way of the vineyards.

19 (Job 21:13) Drought and heat consume the snow waters;

so the grave consumes those who have sinned.

20 (Pr 10:7; Da 4:14) The womb will forget him;

the worm will feed sweetly on him;

he will be remembered no more,

and wickedness will be broken like a tree.

21 He preys on the barren who do not bear,

and does no good for the widow.

22 But God draws the mighty away with His power;

He rises up, and no man is sure of life.

23 (Pr 15:3) He gives them security, and they rely on it;

yet His eyes are on their ways.

24 (Ps 37:10) They are exalted for a little while but are gone and brought low;

they are taken out of the way like all others

and cut off as the tops of the grain.

25 (Job 9:24) "If it is not so, who will prove me a liar

and make my speech worth nothing?"

(The Lord knows everything)

Job 25

Bildad Speaks: Man Cannot Be Righteous

1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered:

2 "Dominion and fear are with Him;

He makes peace in His high places.

3 (Jas 1:17; Mt 5:45) Is there any number to His armies?

And upon whom does His light not rise?

4 (Job 9:2; 4:17–19) How then can man be righteous with God?

Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

5 Behold, even the moon does not shine,

and the stars are not pure in His sight;

6 (Ps 22:6; Isa 41:14) how much less man, who is a maggot?

And the son of man, who is a worm?"

(Man is sinful, yes, but the Lord makes a way)

Job 26

Job Replies: God’s Majesty Is Unsearchable

1 But Job answered:

2 "How have you helped him who is without power?

How have you saved the arm that has no strength?

3 How have you counseled him who has no wisdom?

And how have you plentifully declared sound knowledge?

4 To whom have you uttered words?

And whose breath came from you?

5 (Ge 6:4; Ps 88:10) "The departed spirits tremble under the waters,

and their inhabitants.

6 (Ps 139:8; Pr 15:11) The underworld is naked before Him,

and destruction has no covering.

7 (Job 9:8; Ge 1:1–2) He stretches out the north over empty space,

He hangs the earth upon nothing.

8 (Pr 30:4) He binds up the waters in His thick clouds,

and the cloud is not broken under them.

9 (Ps 97:2) He covers the face of the full moon

and spreads His cloud over it.

10 (Job 38:8–11; Pr 8:29) He has circled the waters with boundaries,

until the day and night come to an end.

11 The pillars of heaven tremble

and are astonished at His reproof.

12 (Isa 51:15; Jer 31:35) He divides the sea with His power,

and by His understanding He strikes through the proud.

13 (Isa 27:1; Ge 1:2) By His breath He has made fair the heavens;

His hand has formed the fleeing serpent.

14 Indeed, these are but a part of His ways,

and how small a whisper we hear of Him!

But the thunder of His power who can understand?”

Job 27

Job’s Last Words to His Friends

1 (Nu 23:7; Job 29:1)Moreover Job continued his discourse:

2 (Job 34:5; 2Ki 4:27) "As God lives, who has taken away my judgment,

and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,

3 (Ge 2:7; Job 33:4) all the while my spirit is in me,

and the breath of God is in my nostrils,

4 (Job 13:7) my lips will not speak wickedness,

nor my tongue utter deceit.

5 (Job 2:9; 13:15) God forbid that I should justify you.

Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.

6 (Job 2:3; Ac 24:16) My righteousness I hold fast and will not let it go;

my heart will not reproach me as long as I live.

7 "Let my enemy be like the wicked,

and he who rises up against me like the unrighteous.

8 (Job 11:20; 8:13) For what is the hope of the hypocrite,

though he may gain much, when God takes away his soul?

9 (Pr 1:28; Isa 1:15) Will God hear his cry

when trouble comes upon him?

10 (Job 22:26–27; Ps 37:4) Will he delight himself in the Almighty?

Will he always call upon God?

11 "I will teach you about the hand of God;

what is with the Almighty I will not conceal.

12 Look, all of you have seen it;

why then have you become altogether vain?

13 "This is the portion of a wicked man with God,

and the inheritance that oppressors receive from the Almighty:

14 (Dt 28:41) If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword,

and his offspring will not be satisfied with bread.

15 (Ps 78:64) Those who survive him will be buried in death,

and their widows will not weep.

16 (Zec 9:3) Though he heaps up silver like the dust

and piles up clothing like the clay—

17 (Ecc 2:26; Pr 13:22) he may pile it up, but the just will wear it,

and the innocent will divide the silver.

18 (Job 8:14–15; Isa 1:8) He builds his house like a moth,

and like a booth that the watchman makes.

19 (Job 24:24; Jer 8:2) The rich man will lie down, but he will not be gathered;

he opens his eyes, and he is not.

20 (Job 15:21; 18:11) Terrors overtake him like floodwaters;

a tempest steals him away in the night.

21 The east wind carries him away, and he departs;

it sweeps him out of his place.

22 For God will cast it upon him and not spare;

he would flee from its power.

23 (La 2:15; Zep 2:15) Men will clap their hands at him

and will hiss him out of his place.

Interlude: Where Wisdom Is Found

1 "Surely there is a mine for the silver,

and a place where they refine gold.

2 (Dt 8:9) Iron is taken out of the earth,

and copper is smelted from the ore.

3 (Ecc 1:13) Man puts an end to darkness,

and searches every extremity

for ore in the darkness and the shadow of death.

4 He breaks open a shaft away from the inhabitants;

in places forgotten by feet

they hang far away from men; and they totter.

5 As for the earth, from it comes bread,

and underneath it is turned up as by fire.

6 (Ex 24:10) Its stones are the source of sapphires,

and it has dust of gold.

7 There is a path that no bird knows,

and that the vulture’s eye has not seen;

8 the lion cubs have not trodden it,

nor has the fierce lion passed by it.

9 He puts forth his hand upon the rock;

he overturns the mountains by the roots.

10 He cuts out rivers among the rocks,

and his eye sees every precious thing.

11 He prevents the floods from overflowing,

and the thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.

12 (Job 28:28) “But where will wisdom be found?

And where is the place of understanding?

13 Man does not know its price,

nor is it found in the land of the living.

14 The depth says, 'It is not in me,'

and the sea says, 'It is not with me.'

15 (Pr 16:16; 8:10–11) It cannot be bought for gold,

nor can silver be weighed for its price.

16 (Ps 45:9; Isa 13:12) It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir,

with the precious onyx or the sapphire.

17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it,

and it cannot be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

18 (Pr 3:15; 31:10) No mention will be made of coral or of pearls,

for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 (Ex 28:17; 39:10) The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it,

nor will it be valued with pure gold.

20 "From where then does wisdom come?

And where is the place of understanding?

21 It is hidden from the eyes of all living

and concealed from the birds of the air.

22 (Job 26:6) Destruction and Death say,

'We have heard of its fame with our ears.'

23 (Pr 8:22–31) God understands its way,

and He knows its place.

24 (Pr 15:3; Zec 4:10) For He looks to the ends of the earth,

and sees under the whole heaven,

25 Ps 135:7 to make the weight of the wind,

and He weighs the waters by measure.

26 Job 38:25; 37:3 When He made a decree for the rain,

and a path for the lightning of the thunder,

27 then He saw it and declared it;

He prepared it, yes, and searched it out.

28 (Ps 111:10; Pr 1:7) To man He said:

'Look, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;

And to depart from evil is understanding.' "

2) Our Daily Bread for 9 Jan 2021 https://odb.org/CA/2021/01/10/paper-crowns entitled Paper Crowns

Today's Scripture & Insight: 1 Cor 6:1-6

1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to the law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

2 (Mt 19:28; Da 7:22) Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world will be judged by you,

are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more the things that pertain to this life?

4 (1Co 5:12) If then you have judgments dealing with matters of this life,

do you appoint as judges those who are least esteemed in the church?

5( 1Co 4:14; 15:34)I speak to your shame. Is it true that there is not even one wise man among

you who shall be able to judge between his brothers?

6 But brother goes to the law against brother, and before unbelievers, at that.

After a holiday meal at my house, everyone opened party favors filled with candy, small toys, and confetti.

But there was something else in the favors—a paper crown for each of us.

We couldn’t resist trying them on, and we smiled at each other as we sat around the table.

For just a moment, we were kings and queens, even if our kingdom was a dining room littered with the remnants of our dinner.

This sparked a memory of a Bible promise I don't often think about.

In the next life, all believers will share ruling authority with Jesus.

Paul mentions this in 1 Corinthians 6 where he asks, “Do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world?” (v. 2).

Paul referenced this future privilege because he wanted to inspire believers to settle disputes peacefully on earth.

They had been suing each other and consequently harming the reputation of other believers in their community.

We become better at resolving conflict as the Holy Spirit produces self-control, gentleness, and patience within us.

By the time Jesus returns and completes the Spirit's work in our lives (1 John 3:2–3), we'll be ready for our eventual

role as "a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and . . . reign on the earth" (Revelation 5:10).

Let's hold on to this promise that glitters in Scripture like a diamond set in a crown of gold.

Reflect & Pray

How does the Holy Spirit influence your words and actions when

you experience conflict? How does this affect those around you?

Almighty God, thank You for the wonderful future I have with You.

Help me to look to You when it’s hard to cooperate with others.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 4 – The Blessings of Grace Day 7 God's Bulldozer – Luke 3:5-6

5 (Isa 40:4; 42:16) Every valley shall be filled

and every mountain and hill shall be brought low;

and the crooked shall be made straight

and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

6 (Isa 40:5; 52:10) and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

"Gk. 2 assaria. An assarion was worth 1/16 of a denarius, which was a day's wage."

When a new highway is being constructed, the roads crew work hard in preparing for the new surface to be laid.

Giant bulldozers cut through the hillsides, moving earth, leveling, filling,

evening the path out where the roadway will run. When the work is first begun, if often looks like chaos:

and even after the highway begins to take shape, the land is still ugly,

scarred by the unslighty gashes cut through the landscape. Yet after

the work is completed and the grass and trees are replanted, we forget the temporary upheaval and see only the

beauty of the land and the convenience of the new roadway.

In Luke 3:5-6, John the Baptist presents a prophecy of the coming of Christ, a prophecy

quoted from Isaiah 40:3-5 . The prohecy speaks of the preparation of the world for the coming Messiah,

but ia also applies to the preparation of the individual heart to receive him.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit must do major work in our hearts to prepare us for the

coming of Christ into our live. Like a bulldozer, he brings down the

mountains of pride in our lives. He fille the empty places , correts the crooked, grades down the rough edges of our hearts.

Often this is not pleasant work. We prefer to maintain the rugged landscape of Self,

and we do not like the ugly scars that are left after the bulldozer has done its job.

But if we submit to the Sprit's "Construction work" in us, the way will be paved for

the Lord to enter into our lives, and others will see in us, the way

be paved for the Lord to enter into

our lives, and other will see in us the glory and salvation of our God.

Application

a) What "construction work" has to Holy Spirit done in me?

b) What restoration has taken plae because of that work?

c) How do today's verses help me put in prespetive the work

God still wnt to do in me?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Deut 29:9

9 (Dt 4:6; Jos 1:7)Therefore, keep the words of this covenant and do them, so that you may prosper in all you do.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are ill or injured

Psalm 103:1-5

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and forget not all His benefits,

3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) who forgives all your iniquities,

who heals all your diseases,

4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) who redeems your life from the pit,

who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) who satisfies your mouth with good things,

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Day 6: Declare it in Prayer

• Verse of the Day: Mark 11:24

24 (1Jn 3:22 ) Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,

believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.

In your time of prayer and fasting, remember to declare in prayer the breakthroughs in areas of struggle.

Pray for bursts of God's goodness in your life and family, not trickles.

A flood of God's healing, a flood of God's wisdom, a flood of God's favour,

and declare peace in your home and life. He is bringing the right people,

solutions, and opportunities into your life. Expect and declare God to overwhelm you with his goodness and favour!

Reflection:

An integral part of our relationship with Jesus is prayer.

How often do you pray and talk to Jesus daily?

Prayer:

Lord, even when I can not feel Your presence, I know You are near. Your promises are true. Thank You that I know that even now

You are at work in my life. You are working all things out for my good.

I declare this promise for my life. Thank you, God, that You are

sovereign and who sees the end from the beginning and

uses even the painful things to bring good as Your word tells us in Romans 8:28.

Thank you Jesus for my future that I can hope, despite the circumstances in the world

I can look beyond this life and have joy because You have the hope of Jesus that lives in me.

Jesus, thank you for Your forgiveness as

I confess my sins to You, for the peace that You give that surpasses my understanding.

You lift me up in wings of an eagle so I can soar above my circumstances, You give me strength.

I declare Your promises for my life and thank You Lord for what You have done and are doing

and what will be done in my life and through it. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

Scripture reflection:

Isaiah 14:24,

24 (Ac 4:28; Job 23:13) The Lord of Hosts has sworn, saying:

Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass,

and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

Isaiah 46:9-10

9 (Dt 32:7; Isa 42:9) Remember the former things of old,

for I am God, and there is no other;

I am God, and there is no one like Me,

10 (Pr 19:21; Ps 33:11) declaring the end from the beginning,

and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying,

"My counsel shall stand,

and I will do all My good pleasure,"

psalm 118:17

17 I shall not die, but I shall live

and declare the works of the Lord.

Conclusion:

Pray to helpful towards other in the Will fo the Lord

Seek the wisdom of the Lord.

Remember the Lord is Just and fair.

Have a heart of Thanksgiving.

Declare everything in prayer

Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.

Pray to accept Jesus in your life
