Day 13 of My 4th Bible Study Journey - 13 January reflections

Day 13 , 13 Jan 2024

Job 42 , Genesis 6-7

Job 42

Job's Repentance

1Then Job answered the Lord and said:

2 "I know that You can do everything,

and that no thought can be withheld from You.

3 'Who is he who hides counsel without knowledge?'

Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,

things too wonderful for me which I did not know.

4 " 'Hear, and I will speak;

I will question you,

and you declare to Me.'

5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,

but now my eye sees You.

6 Therefore I abhor myself,

and repent in dust and ashes."

Job's Reply

1 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 I know that thou canst do every thing,

And that no thought can be withholden from thee.

3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?

Therefore have I uttered that I understood not;

Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak:

I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear:

But now mine eye seeth thee.

6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent

In dust and ashes.

Epilogue

7 And so it was, that after the Lord had spoken these words to Job,

the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite,

"My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends,

for you have not spoken of Me what is right as My servant Job has.

(careful what you say)

8 And now, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams,

and go to My servant Job,

and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering;

and My servant Job will pray for you.

For him I will accept, lest I deal with you according

to your folly, in that you

have not spoken of Me the thing which is right like My servant Job."

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite

went and did as the Lord had commanded them; the Lord also accepted Job.

10 And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends,

and also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then all of his brothers, and all his sisters, and all of those who

had been of acquaintance

before came to Job, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they

consoled him and comforted him

for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him.

Every man also gave him a piece of money and an earring of gold.

12 So the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning,

( The Lord rewards the faithful)

for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels,

and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14 He called the name of the first Jemimah;

and the name of the second Keziah;

and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

15 In all the land, there were no women as beautiful as the daughters of Job,

and their father gave them an inheritance along with their brothers.

16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons,

and their sons to the fourth generation.

17 So Job died, being old and full of days.

The Epilogue

7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job,

the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee,

and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing

that is right, as my servant Job hath.

8 Therefore take unto you now

seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job,

and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job

shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you

after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right,

like my servant Job.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite

went, and did according as the LORD commanded them:

the LORD also accepted Job.

10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends:

also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters,

and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread

with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all

the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him

a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:

for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels,

and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second,

Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.

15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job:

and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons,

and his sons' sons, even four generations.

17 So Job died, being old and full of days.

(Most likely this happened before the flood)

Genesis 6

Man's Wickedness

1 When men began to multiply on the face of the earth

and daughters were born to them,

2 the sons of God (demons) saw that the daughters of men

were fair and took as wives any they chose.

3 The Lord said, "My Spirit will not always strive with man,

for he is flesh; yet his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days,

and also after that, when the sons of God (demons) came

in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.

These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth,

and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was continually only evil.

6 The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth,

and it grieved Him in His heart.

7 So the Lord said, "I will destroy man, whom I have created, from the

face of the earth-both man and beast,

and the creeping things, and the birds of the sky,

for I am sorry that I have made them."

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

(Noah being faithful and Genetiaclly Pure)

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth,

and daughters were born unto them,

2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men

that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man,

for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days;

and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters

of men, and they bare children to them,

the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,

and that every imagination of the thoughts

of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth,

and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from

the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing,

and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Noah and the Flood

9 These are the generations of Noah.

Noah was a just man and blameless among his contemporaries.

Noah walked with God.

10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 The earth was corrupt before God and filled with violence.

12 God looked on the earth and saw it was corrupt,

for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect

in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled

with violence.

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt;

for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 So God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh is come before Me,

for the earth is filled with violence because of them.

Now I will destroy them with the earth.

14 Make an ark of cypress wood for yourself. Make rooms in the ark,

and cover it inside and out with pitch.

15 And this is how you must make it:

The length of the ark will be three hundred cubits,

the width of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

16 Make an opening one cubit below the top of the ark all around;

and you must set the door of the ark on the side.

Make it with a lower, a second, and a third story.

17 I will bring a flood of waters on the earth to destroy all flesh,

wherever there is the breath of life under heaven,

and everything that is on the earth will die.

18 But I will establish My covenant with you;

you must go into the ark - you, and your sons,

and your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

19 Bring every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind,

into the ark to keep them alive with you.

They shall be male and female.

20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal,

and of every kind of creeping thing of the earth will come to you to be kept alive.

21 Also, take with you of every kind of food that is eaten

and gather it to yourself, and it will be for food for you and for them."

22 Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.

The Ark

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me;

for the earth is filled with violence through them;

and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark,

and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:

The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it

fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish

it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof;

with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth,

to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven;

and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into

the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou

bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male

and female.

20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every

creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come

unto thee, to keep them alive.

21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather

it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

(Faithful is the Man who Acknowledges the Lord The Creator)

Genesis 7

1 The Lord said to Noah,

"You and your entire household go into the ark,

for you alone I have seen to be righteous before

Me among this generation.

2 Take with you seven each of every clean animal,

the male and its female,

and two each of every unclean animal, the male and its female,

3 and seven each of birds of the air, the male and female,

to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.

4 In seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth

for forty days and forty nights,

and every living thing that I have made

I will destroy from the face of the earth."

5 And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him.

6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth.

7 And Noah went with his sons and his wife and his sons'

wives into the ark because of the floodwaters.

8 Everything that creeps on the land from clean and unclean animals and birds

9 came in two by two, male and female, to Noah into the ark,

as God had commanded Noah.

10 After seven days, the waters of the flood were on the earth.

1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark;

for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male

and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female;

to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days

and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy

from off the face of the earth.

5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters

was upon the earth.

7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him,

into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls,

and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

9 there went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female,

as God had commanded Noah.

10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were

upon the earth.

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month,

on the seventeenth day of the month, the same day,

all the fountains of the great deep burst open

and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

12 The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

13 On the very same day Noah and the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth,

and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them,

entered the ark.

14 They and every wild animal according to its kind,

and all the livestock according to their kind,

and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth according to its kind,

and every bird according to its kind, every bird of every sort,

15 went with Noah into the ark, two by two of all flesh in which

was the breath of life.

16 So they went in, male and female of all flesh, just as God had

commanded him; then the Lord shut him in.

17 The flood was on the earth forty days, and the water increased

and lifted up the ark, so that it rose up above the earth.

18 The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth,

and the ark floated on the surface of the water.

19 The water prevailed exceedingly on the earth,

and all the high mountains that were under the whole heaven were covered.

20 The waters prevailed upward and the mountains

were covered fifteen cubits deep.

21 All flesh that moved on the earth died: birds and livestock and beasts,

and every creeping thing that crept on the earth, and every man.

22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life,

all that was on the dry land, died.

23 So He blotted out every living thing which was on the face of the ground,

both man and animals and the creeping things and the birds of the heavens.

They were blotted out from the earth,

and only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.

24 The waters prevailed on the earth for one hundred and fifty days.

The Great Flood

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month,

the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains

of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth,

the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them,

into the ark;

14 they, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind,

and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind,

and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein

is the breath of life.

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had

commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased,

and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth;

and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high

hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains

were covered.

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle,

and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,

and every man:

22 all in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry

land, died.

23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of

the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl

of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth:

and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

2) Our Daily Bread for 13 January 2024 titled

Persevering in Jesus

Hebrews 12:1-3

1 Therefore, since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses,

let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

2 (Heb 1:3; Lk 24:26) Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our

faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising

the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 (Gal 6:9; Heb 12:5) For consider Him who endured such hostility

from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and your hearts give up.

[1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of

witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily

beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy

that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set

down at the right hand of the throne of God.

[3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against

himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

When I was studying in seminary years ago, we had a weekly chapel service. At

one service, while we students were singing "Great Is the Lord," I spotted

three of our well-loved professors singing with fervor. Their faces radiated

joy, made possible only by their faith in God. Years later, as each went

through terminal illness, it was this faith that enabled them to endure and

encourage others.

Today, the memory of my teachers singing continues to encourage me to keep

going in my trials. To me, they're a few of the many inspiring stories of

people who lived by faith. They're a reminder of how we can follow the

author's call in Hebrews 12:2-3 to fix our eyes on Jesus who "who for the joy

that was set before him endured the cross," (v. 2).

When trials-from persecution or life's challenges-make it hard to keep going,

we have the example of those who took God at His word and trusted in His

promises. We can "run with patience the race that is set before us" (v. 1),

remembering that Jesus-and those who have gone before us-was able to endure.

The writer urges us to "consider him that endured such contradiction of

sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds" (v. 3).

My teachers, now happy in heaven, would likely say:

"The life of faith is worth it. Keep going."

Reflect & Pray

Who's inspired you to keep going in your faith journey?

How does their example encourage you to endure in times of trial and hardship?

Dear Jesus, help me to keep fixing my eyes on You.

When I'm weary and losing heart, thank You for Your example.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 1 Knowing God's Word Day 7 - The Cost of Wisdom

Proverbs 4:4,7

Proverbs 4

4 (Pr 7:2; Eph 6:4) He also taught me and said to me,

"Let your heart retain my words;

keep my commandments, and live.

7 (Mt 13:44-46) Wisdom is principal; therefore get wisdom.

And with all your getting, get understanding. "

4 He taught me also, and said unto me,

Let thine heart retain my words:

Keep my commandments, and live.

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:

And with all thy getting get understanding.

Establishing priorities is a popular topic of conversation in our

generation. We carry appointment calendars and attend goal-setting

strategy seminars. We let machines answer our telephones so that

we won't miss any important messages, or so that we can screen calls

before we answer them. We order our lives so that we can "get ahead".

"Getting ahead" in God's kingdom, however, involves other priorities

than the ones we may set for ourselves. "Wisdom is supreme," the

principal thing, says Proverbs 4:7, "Get wisdom. Though it cost

all you have, get understanding."

Wisdom is defined as "an understanding of what is true, right, or lasting."

Biblical wisdom is not merely the accumulation of facts about God and his

teaching, but the application of those truths of life, taking on

the character of God as we mature in the image of Christ.

Such wisdom may, indeed, come at great cost. Jesus calls us to "lay

down our lives" to follow him - perhaps not literally to die, but to die

to self-centered priorities, to allow the Holy Spirit to establish

his value system in us.

"Keep my commandments and you will live," Proverbs 4:4 says. Real life -

rich, fulfilling, significant, abundant life - comes only through union

with God. The success offered by the world, the acclaim of others, material

prosperity and convenience cannot satisfy us once we have tasted

the joy of life with God in Christ.

Application

a) What does "getting wisdom" means to me?

b) What practical changes can I make in my life to help me focus

my attention on the priorities and values of the Lord?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Philip 4:19

19 (Ro 2:4) But my God shall supply your every need according

to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

19 But my God shall supply all your need according

to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

God's Reconciling Peace

Ps 85:8-13

8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) I will hear what God the Lord will speak,

for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints,

but let them not turn again to folly.

9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Surely His salvation is near to them who fear Him,

that glory may dwell in our land.

10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Mercy and truth have met together;

righteousness and peace have kissed.

11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Truth springs from the ground,

and righteousness looks down from the sky.

12 Yes, the Lord gives that which is good,

and our land shall yield its increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before Him

and prepare a way for His footsteps.

8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak:

For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints:

But let them not turn again to folly.

9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him;

That glory may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth are met together;

Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 Truth shall spring out of the earth;

And righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good;

And our land shall yield her increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before him;

And shall set us in the way of his steps.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

13th Day of the Month

a) Pray that, with God's help, children and

Equipping the Next Generation

DEVOTION:

Being a living example of Christ to the next generation begins with living

out our faith authentically. It's not just about saying the right things but

about consistently living out our beliefs and values in front of them in our

daily lives. This means showing love, compassion, and forgiveness to

others, being honest and trustworthy. and demonstrating a servant's

heart. We must strive to reflect the character of Christ in all that we do

and say.

Ultimately, investing in the spiritual growth of the next generation

requires intentional and consistent effort. It may require sacrificing our

time and resources, but the impact we can have on their lives is

immeasurable. Let us commit to fulfilling our responsibility to make

disciples of the next generation so that they may know, trust. and obey

God

REFLECTION :

How can I be a living example of Christ to the next generation?

What can I do to invest in the spiritual growth of the next generation?

Father God. we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for

the gift of the next generation within our church family. Lord, we

acknowledge that these children and youth are not just the future of Your

Kingdom but an essential part of it right now. Today, we unite our

prayers to intercede for them that their minds, hearts. hands, and feet be

guided by Your Word and dedicated to serving you wholeheartedly. We

pray for the next generation, specifically whoever you bring to our mind

when we think about them. We pray that they will know You, love You

and walk with You all the days of their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus,

we pray amen.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION:

[30] A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a

generation.

Jeremiah 1:6-7

6 (Ex 6:12) Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! Truly, I cannot speak,

for I am a youth."

7 (Nu 22:20) But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a youth.'

For you shall go everywhere that I send you,

and whatever I command you, you shall speak."

[6] Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

[7] But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to

all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

and your old men shall dream dreams.

[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out
