Eccl 7:2

Romans 8:20-23

2 Chronicles 6
1 (Ex 20:21; 1Ki 8:12-50) Then Solomon said, "The Lord has said
that He would dwell in the dark cloud.
2 But I have built for You an exalted house,
even a habitation where You can continually dwell."
Solomon's Speech
3 (1Ki 8:14) Then the king turned his face around,
and he blessed the entire assembly of Israel while
all the assembly of Israel was standing before him.
4 And he said:
"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel who spoke with David
my father and fulfilled His promise saying,
5 'Since the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt,
I did not choose any city from among the tribes of Israel to build
a house for My name to dwell there, nor did I select a man
to be the leader over My people Israel;
6 (1Ch 28:4; 2Ch 12:13) but I have chosen Jerusalem for
My name to dwell there, and I have selected David
to be over My people Israel.'
7 (1Ki 5:3; 1Ch 17:1) "And it was in the heart of David my father
to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
8 But the Lord said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart
to build a house for My name, you did well because
of what was in your heart;

10 "The Lord has fulfilled the word that He spoke. For I have risen up in
the place of David my father and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord
spoke, and I will build the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
11 (2Ch 5:10; 5:7) And there I have set the ark, in which is the covenant
of the Lord that He made with the children of Israel."
Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
1Ki 8:22-53; Ps 132:8-10
12 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord before all the assembly
of Israel and spread out his hands.
13 (1Ki 8:54; Ne 8:4) For Solomon made a bronze platform and set it
in the midst of the enclosure. It was five cubits in length, five cubits
in width, and three cubits in height.
[About 7 1/2 feet long and wide, and 41/2 feet high;
or 2.3 meters long and wide, and 1.4 meters high. ]
And he stood on it and knelt down before all the assembly of Israel
and spread out his hands to heaven.
14 (Ex 15:11; Dt 7:9) And he said:
"O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You in the heavens
or on the earth, who keeps covenants and mercy with Your servants
who walk before You with all their heart.

The heavens, even the highest heavens, are not able to contain You,
much less this house that I have built.

both day and night, to the place that You have said that You will

because they have sinned against You, and they return and confess Your name
and pray and seek Your favor in this house,

they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and confess
Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them,

of Your servants and Your people Israel because You will teach them the good
path in which they will walk, and You will send rain on the land that
You have given to Your people as a possession.
28 "When there is famine in the land or when there is pestilence, blight,
mildew, winged locust, or grasshopper, or when enemies besiege them
in the land up to their city gates, in whatever plague or sickness,
29 whatever prayer or plea that is made by any man or by all your people
Israel, when each man knows his own affliction and his own sorrow,
and stretches out his hands toward this house,
30 (1Ch 28:9; 1Sa 16:7) then You will hear from heaven, the place
of the habitation of Your dwelling, and forgive, and You will render
to each according to his conduct, for You know their hearts
(for You alone know the heart of people),
31 so that they may fear You and walk in Your ways all the days
that they live on the land that You have given to our fathers.

Your people Israel and come from a distant land,
because of Your great name, mighty hand, and outstretched arm,
and they come and pray toward this house,
33 (2Ch 7:14) then hear from heaven, from Your dwelling place,

that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You,
as do Your people Israel; and that they may know that this house
which I have built is called by Your name.
34 "When Your people go out to battle against their enemies,
in the way that You send them, and when they pray to You toward
this city that You have chosen and the house that I have built for Your name,
35 then hear from heaven their prayer and plea and act for their cause.
36 (Ecc 7:20; Jas 3:2) "When they sin against You
(for there is no one who does not sin) and You are angry against them
and give them to their enemies, and they are taken captive to a land,
whether distant or near, 37and they turn their hearts in the land
that they have been taken captive, and they repent
and seek Your favor in the land of captivity saying,
'We have sinned, done wrong, and acted wickedly,'
38 and if they turn in repentance to You with all their heart
and all their soul in the land of their captivity that they were taken to,
and pray toward the land that You have given to their fathers,
and toward the city that You have chosen, and toward the house
that I have built for Your name,
39 then hear from heaven, from Your dwelling place,
their prayer and supplication, and maintain their cause,
and forgive the people who have sinned against You.

and Your ears attentive to the prayer that I offer in this place.
41 (1Ch 28:2; Ne 9:25) "Now rise up, O Lord God, to Your resting place,
both You and the ark of Your strength.
And let Your priests, O Lord God, be clothed in salvation
and Your loyal ones rejoice in goodness.
42 (Isa 55:3; Ps 132:1) O Lord God, do not turn Your face from Your anointed.

2 Chronicles 7
Solomon Dedicates the Temple
1Ki 8:62-66
1 (1Ki 18:38; Lev 9:23-24) And when Solomon finished praying, fire came
down from the heavens and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices,
and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
2 (2Ch 5:14) And the priests were not able to enter
into the house of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house.
3 (2Ch 5:13; 20:21) And all the sons of Israel saw when the fire came down
and the glory of the Lord came on the temple, and they bowed their faces
low to the ground on the pavement, and they worshipped confessing,
"The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever."
4 Then the king and all the people were making sacrifices before the Lord.
5 King Solomon sacrificed 22000 oxen and 120000 sheep.
So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
6 (2Ch 5:12; 1Ch 15:16-21) The priests stood at their positions,
with the Levites and all their instruments of music for the Lord
that King David had made to praise the Lord-for His mercy endures
forever-when David gave praise by their ministry, and the priests
sounded trumpets opposite the Levites, and all Israel stood.
7 And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was
in front of the house of the Lord because there he made burnt offerings
and the fat of peace offerings (because the bronze altar that Solomon
made was surely not able to contain the burnt offerings,
grain offerings, and fat offerings).
8 (Ge 15:18; 1Ki 8:65) And at the appointed time, Solomon made a feast
for seven days, and all Israel—as a very great assembly—was with him,
from the entrance of Lebo Hamath in the north to the Brook of Egypt
in the south.
9 (Lev 23:36) Then on the eighth day they made a solemn assembly
because they had made a consecration of the altar for seven days
and then the feast for seven days more.
10 Then on the twenty-third day of the seventh month
Solomon sent the people away to their homes. They were joyful
and good of heart because of what the Lord had done for David,
Solomon, and His people Israel.
11 (1Ki 9:1-9) Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord
and the king's house. And Solomon successfully accomplished
everything that came into his heart to do in the house of the Lord
and in his own house.
The Lord Appears to Solomon
1Ki 9:1-9
12 (Dt 12:11; 1Ki 9:2) Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night,
and He said to Solomon,
"I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen for Myself in this place
a house of sacrifice.
13 (2Ch 6:26-28) “When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain,
or when I command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence
on My people,
14 (2Ch 6:27; 6:37-39) if My people, who are called by My name,
will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn
from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
15 (2Ch 6:40; 6:20) Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive
to the prayer of this place.
16 (2Ch 7:12) So now I have chosen and consecrated this house
that My name be there continually. My eyes and heart will be
there for all days.
17 "And you, if you walk before Me as David your father did to do
everything that I command you to do, and you keep My statutes and judgments,
18 (2Ch 6:16) then I will set the throne of your kingdom as I made a covenant
with David your father saying, 'You will not lack a man to rule Israel.'
19 (Lev 26:14; Dt 28:15) "But if the people turn aside and abandon
My statutes and commandments that I have given to you,
and you walk after and serve other gods and worship them,
20 (Dt 28:37; 29:28) then I will uproot them from My land that I have given
to them; and the house that I have consecrated for My name, I will throw it
from before Me and set it as a proverb and taunt among the peoples.
21 (Jer 22:8–9) And even though this house was majestic, it will lie desolate
before all who pass by it, and they will say, 'Why did the Lord do such
a thing to this land and this house?'
22 Then they will say, 'Because they abandoned the Lord, the God
of their fathers who brought them up from the land of Egypt,
and they took hold of other gods and worshipped and served them;
therefore He has brought on them all this disaster."

Mark 10:13-16
Little Children Blessed
Mt 19:13-18; Lk 18:15-17
13 (Mt 19:13-15; Mk 10:48) They brought young children to Him,
that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, He was very displeased and said to them,
"Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them,
for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 (Mt 18:3; Lk 18:17) Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive
the kingdom of God as a little child shall not enter it."
16 (Mk 9:36) And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them,
and blessed them.
My mother has been committed to many things over the course of her life,
but one that has remained constant is her desire to see little children
introduced to Jesus. Of the few times I've witnessed my mother display
disagreement publicly, all were when someone attempted to cut
a children's ministry budget in favour of what they felt were more
"serious" expenditures. "I took off one summer when I was pregnant
with your brother, but that's it," she told me.
I did a little family math and I realized my mom had been working
with children in the church for 55 years.
Mark 10 records one of the endearing stories in the Gospels
commonly titled "The Little Children and Jesus." People were
bringing children to Jesus that He might touch and bless them.
But the disciples tried to prevent this from happening.
Mark records Jesus as "indignant"-and rebuking His very own disciples:
“Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them,
for of such is the kingdom of God. †(v. 14).
Charles Dickens wrote, "I love these little people; and it's not
a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us."
And it's not a slight thing when we, who are older, do all we can
to make sure the little children are never hindered from
the ever-fresh love of Jesus.

If you were introduced to Jesus as a child, who were the supporting
adults in that memory? What kind of impression does Jesus
being indignant in this story make on you?
Jesus, help me to reveal Your love and presence to all people,
including children. Make me mindful of ways to ensure
that they can always come to You.

Week 3 - Saved Now and Forever - Day 1 - Bought Back
Eph 1:7
7 (Ro 3:24; Ac 2:38; 20:28) In Him we have redemption through His blood
and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace
In the opening scenes of The Glenn Miller Story, Glenn Miller, then a
struggling musician trying to find an audience for his music, enters
a pawn shop. He has hocked his trombone for rent money, and has come
to redeem it. Paying the pawn broker the money, he buys back his own
instrument and leaves the shop, indicating that he will probably
be back again.
In Eph 1:7. Paul says that in Christ "we have redemption through
His blood and the forgiveness of sin according to the riches of His grace."
We belonged to God from the beginning; he made us and stamped
his image upon us. But through sin we were lost, pawned to the
world's system and the Enemy of our souls.
But God redeemed us; he "bought us back" with the most valuable
currency in the universe - the blood of his own Son, Jesus Christ.
He did not resent the bargain, or question whether we were worth
such a price. He freely gave Jesus in trade to ransom the souls
of the people he created and loved.
Sometimes in Christian circles we get so caught up in religious
jargon that we forget what redemption really means. Gog did not have
to "get us out of hock." He was not compelled to buy us back when we
had sold ourselves to sin. But because of his love, and with no
deserving on our part, he chose to pay an enormous price to set us free.
We are redeemed, bought back, by the One who owned us in the first place.
Application

There is a growing Muslim population in Quebec City and a smattering
os Muslims scattered aound the rest of the province, yet the vast majority
of Muslims live in the greater Montreal area. n fact, 23% of Canada's Muslim
population live in Quebec. Why is that? It is largely because Francophone
African Muslims are atrracted to La Belle Provence.
And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more
Muslims in Montreal than there are evangelical Christians.
This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches
and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small
by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that
is often either indifferent to releigion or resistant to it. And now
this 'new' religious community of Muslims - many of whom do not visibly
or socially conform to Quebec society - are a growing population. It might br
easy for Christians to feel overwhlem by this cultural double-whammy,
yet God has alsways worked miracles through the small, the few.
Agree in prayer for :
- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel
- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding
-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting
together for worship!
- For pastors and believers to be full of passion, faith and vision for
reaching Muslims in Quebec.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

Solomon Dedicates the Temple
1Ki 8:62-66
1 (1Ki 18:38; Lev 9:23-24) And when Solomon finished praying, fire came
down from the heavens and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices,
and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
2 (2Ch 5:14) And the priests were not able to enter
into the house of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house.
3 (2Ch 5:13; 20:21) And all the sons of Israel saw when the fire came down
and the glory of the Lord came on the temple, and they bowed their faces
low to the ground on the pavement, and they worshipped confessing,
"The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever."

So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

and the fat of peace offerings (because the bronze altar that Solomon
made was surely not able to contain the burnt offerings,
grain offerings, and fat offerings).

for seven days, and all Israel—as a very great assembly—was with him,
from the entrance of Lebo Hamath in the north to the Brook of Egypt

because they had made a consecration of the altar for seven days
and then the feast for seven days more.
10 Then on the twenty-third day of the seventh month
Solomon sent the people away to their homes. They were joyful

The Lord Appears to Solomon

"I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen for Myself in this place

Little Children Blessed

13 (Mt 19:13-15; Mk 10:48) They brought young children to Him,
that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, He was very displeased and said to them,
"Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them,
for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 (Mt 18:3; Lk 18:17) Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive
the kingdom of God as a little child shall not enter it."
16 (Mk 9:36) And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them,
and blessed them.
My mother has been committed to many things over the course of her life,
but one that has remained constant is her desire to see little children
introduced to Jesus. Of the few times I've witnessed my mother display
disagreement publicly, all were when someone attempted to cut
a children's ministry budget in favour of what they felt were more
"serious" expenditures. "I took off one summer when I was pregnant
with your brother, but that's it," she told me.
I did a little family math and I realized my mom had been working
with children in the church for 55 years.
Mark 10 records one of the endearing stories in the Gospels
commonly titled "The Little Children and Jesus." People were
bringing children to Jesus that He might touch and bless them.
But the disciples tried to prevent this from happening.
Mark records Jesus as "indignant"-and rebuking His very own disciples:
“Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them,
for of such is the kingdom of God. †(v. 14).
Charles Dickens wrote, "I love these little people; and it's not
a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us."
And it's not a slight thing when we, who are older, do all we can
to make sure the little children are never hindered from
the ever-fresh love of Jesus.

Week 3 - Saved Now and Forever - Day 1 - Bought Back
Eph 1:7
7 (Ro 3:24; Ac 2:38; 20:28) In Him we have redemption through His blood
and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace
In the opening scenes of The Glenn Miller Story, Glenn Miller, then a
struggling musician trying to find an audience for his music, enters
a pawn shop. He has hocked his trombone for rent money, and has come
to redeem it. Paying the pawn broker the money, he buys back his own
instrument and leaves the shop, indicating that he will probably
be back again.
In Eph 1:7. Paul says that in Christ "we have redemption through
His blood and the forgiveness of sin according to the riches of His grace."
We belonged to God from the beginning; he made us and stamped
his image upon us. But through sin we were lost, pawned to the
world's system and the Enemy of our souls.
But God redeemed us; he "bought us back" with the most valuable
currency in the universe - the blood of his own Son, Jesus Christ.
He did not resent the bargain, or question whether we were worth
such a price. He freely gave Jesus in trade to ransom the souls
of the people he created and loved.
Sometimes in Christian circles we get so caught up in religious
jargon that we forget what redemption really means. Gog did not have
to "get us out of hock." He was not compelled to buy us back when we
had sold ourselves to sin. But because of his love, and with no
deserving on our part, he chose to pay an enormous price to set us free.
We are redeemed, bought back, by the One who owned us in the first place.

There is a growing Muslim population in Quebec City and a smattering
os Muslims scattered aound the rest of the province, yet the vast majority
of Muslims live in the greater Montreal area. n fact, 23% of Canada's Muslim
population live in Quebec. Why is that? It is largely because Francophone
African Muslims are atrracted to La Belle Provence.
And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more
Muslims in Montreal than there are evangelical Christians.
This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches
and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small
by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that
is often either indifferent to releigion or resistant to it. And now
this 'new' religious community of Muslims - many of whom do not visibly
or socially conform to Quebec society - are a growing population. It might br
easy for Christians to feel overwhlem by this cultural double-whammy,
yet God has alsways worked miracles through the small, the few.
Agree in prayer for :
- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel
- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding
-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting
together for worship!

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

a) Pray that, with God's help, children and
young people will be able to journey with hope towards the destiny God has
for each of them
b)Pray for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador
I) Pray for the leaders of Newfoundland and Labrador,
that God's Spirit would influence then to act justly,
serve with integrity and honour high moral standards.

supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,
3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32) who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
II) Pray for the churches of the province, that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus

Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord that your name is in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Pray to the Lord and repent of your wicked ways and Humble
yourself before Him .
Pray to the Lord that He will help me to reveal His love and
presence to all people,
including children. Make you mindful of ways to ensure
that they can always come to Him.
Pray to Jesus Christ to thank Him
for His redeeming Power.
Pray to the Lord to lift your Head to the Most High.

and that Christian outreach will increae in Quebec.
