Doctor Who NS3 E10 - Blink

8/10 .

Super mystery with whatever looks normal is not.

Opening:

Sally Sparrow comes to a delapidated house in the middle of London.

She takes photographs of the deserted house only to see a message

in the wall from 1969 (my year of birth).

Strange what effect writing on the wall would have. Stone Angel?

Now how would anyone know about this event?

Sally comes back to her friend Cathy Nightingale's house and see the DVDs

with the Doctor (she does not know it is the Doctor).

All right, and she tells Ms. Nightingale about the delapidated house.

Both Sparrow and Nightingale (ITV joke) decides to investigate. Sally is a bit odd. They both look at the statue and Sally notices the Angel is a bit closer.

Why would someone be ringing at the door. Nice young gentlemen asking for Sally Sparrow and asks for id to make certain it is Sally Sparrow. The young man he is Catherine Nightingale's grandson.

Wasn't Catherine Nightingale looking about and then touch by an angel sending her back to 1920 Hull? 4 angel statues are standing on the upstairs with one having the key in its hand. She takes the key.

In the letter she says Lawrence is the only surviving member of the family

and to let him know she loves him .

Sally shows up at the DVD store and sees the Doctor yet again. Spooky and stressed she makes for the police after listening to Lawrence's mate

making a remark on a movie.

Turns out this is where she meets Inspector Shipton and he explains the mystery of the delapidated house including cars of people who have disappeared and the Police Box. The Angels appear just after Sally leave her number with DI Shipton, however Shipton disappears to 1969 touched by an angel. There he meets the Doctor and Martha.

The Doctor want Billy Shipton to deliver a message.

Sally Sparrow realising the key could be the key to the Police Box

turns back and notes the Police Box is missing with extra door open.

She is called by Shipton, an older Shipton.

She is surprised to see the older Shipton and even his story is similar to Cathy Nightingale. Shipton makes mention of the list.

Sally is slowly putting the pieces together realizing that the 17 DVDs are all the DVDs she owns and asks Lawrence to meet her at the abandoned mansion in London with the DVDs.

At the Mansion Sally makes sense of the Message with Lawrence only to

realize they are under threat from an alien species that sounds like inverse Medusa.

They note that they were observing a weeping angel only to see it getting closer and looking very hideous.

Lawrence is left to look at the creature while Cathy tries to find a way out.

Cathy finds the cellar (why a light) and Lawrence dashes toward her direction.

3 of the angels are there and then the 4th does appear trying to turn off the light.

Sally and Lawrence fight their way while the menacing angels try to

seize the TARDIS.

Once in, Lawrence and Sally activate the holographic messaging system.

Lawrence has the correct DVD and the angel shake the TARDIS up.

Successful at slotting the DVD, the TARDIS make for 1969 and the Angels

have looked at each other turning themselves into stone.

2008 Lawrence is trying to get Sally to let go of the events of last year.

As Lawrence goes for milk, Sally sees the Doctor and Martha and gives

him the transcript in order to save himself.

The end is rather forboding with the DVD os the Doctor and statues around .

Doctor Who NS3 E9 - The Family of Blood

8/10 or 4/5 .

Both parts 8/10 or 4/5.

PAul Cornell shows us why he is a good DW writer.

Picking up in mid term, the Village dance comes under siege by the Family of Blood.

Tim Latimer has the Doctor's fob and know how to use this properly. Tim does remind me

of the little girl in Fear Her, just that Tim seems to be more confident in himself.

Everyone distracted, Martha grabs the gun and everyone is out.

Tim calls John Smith freaky, but later all should be forgiven.

With most of the villagers running for safety and the Doctor going back to school

the real battle begins.

What ensues is the Martha and Joan, the Matron is trying to sort out where the fob is.

Matron does show what 1913 is like saying black women cannot become medical doctors.

I love it when Martha proves her wrong.

The Doctor, the Headmaster and student are preparing to due battle.

The sister of Blood is sent in as a spy. She confronts Latimer and

she get the essence of Time Lord. So the target is Latimer and the Fob.

The battle begins. The army of scarecrows breaks in.

Can someone tell me why RTD chose a hymn as a backdrop for the

shooting.

The Family of Blood does not care who they kill. Even a headmaster is not spared.

Retreat it is. some student are caught, but Latimer provides enough of a distraction

for everyone to get away. Can you say Nimon every time Doctor John Smith

oes in and tries to find survivors only to find scarecrows?

Finally retreat, the Doctor, Matron Joan and Martha Jones to the Cartwrights.

Tim joins the Doctor and party at the Cartwrtights.

The Family of Blood decides to attack the village and the Doctor

must decide to revert.

Both Matron and the Doctor hold the fob and they both see a possible future.

Matron reading the Doctor's journal help him to make the decision.

Supposedly John Smith shows up at the craft. After you know the doctor makes the

appearance and destroys the craft.

Father of Blood is chained up in dwarf star alloy, reminds me of Warrior's Gate.

Mother of Blood is caught in an event horizon like a Fendahl SKull.

Sister of Blood is trapped in mirrors.

Bother of Blood is a scarecrow through England.

Matron does say farewell and keep The Doctor's diary.

Tim Lamiter says goodbye to the Doctor.

Years later you see Latimer and Hutchison in the trenches of France.

It must be 80 or 90 years later

you see old Latimer with the watch.

You are correct in the UK when you said you enjoyed this.

Doctor Who NS3 E8 - Human Nature

8/10 or 4/5

Reasonable told.

The Start - The Doctor thinks he is John Smith Teacher and dreams of being the Doctor the Adventurer.

Throughout you see the Doctor relationships with humans such as the matron and Martha.

You meet Timothy , doesn't he remind you of the girl in Fear Her.

What about the bully boys and the Family taking people over. Not that frightening until

the end where the Family crashes the party killing 2 people and threatens that the

Doctor back to being human. Timothy still holds the key with the fob watch.

I cannot wait until next week.

Doctor Who NS3 E7 - 42

8/10 or 4/5

Loved this one.

This one ranks up there with Empty Child / Doctor Dances and

The Impossible Planet / Satan Pit and the Pompadour one.

IMHO stick to outer space and time travel and less in the present

tense.

Good mystery and suspense. 42 - well see for yourself otherwise

"It's your fault".

Starship reloads on fuel only to find one BIG MISTAKE.

And the Saxon group is in the shadows.

Were the deaths necessary?

All the beautiful captain needed to do was dump the fuel.

Still good story writing. Please watch!
