- Use interior and exterior door mats.
- Protect your floor from direct sun light to minimize shading variation.
- Keep animals nails trimmed to help minimize scratches

- Do not drag objects across your floors, felt pad or any number of hardwood friendly products are available for protecting your floors
- Appliances can also damage your floors, glide guards is one product I recommend to allow you to roll your appliances in and out.
- Keep the relative humidity in your home between 35% and 55%
- Never use the following products on your floors: ammonia base products, vinegar, wax based products, oil soaps, detergents, bleach, polishes, bleach or any similar products.
- Never allow water to pool and stay in place, always wipe up immediately.
- Do not use a mop and water, excess liquid gets trapped and will cause damage.
- Sweep or use a dust mop to clean your floor once a week or as needed. A swivel mop with a terry cloth cover is recommended.
