Day 85, 25 March 2024
1) Joshua 12, Joshua 13, Joshua 14, Joshua 15
JOSHUA 12
The List of Defeated Kings
1 (Dt 3:8-9; Nu 21:13) These are the kings on the east side of the Jordan,
from the River Arnon to Mount Hermon and all the eastern Arabah, whom the
children of Israel struck down to take over their land:
2 (Ge 32:22) Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon and ruled from
Aroer, which is on the bank of River Arnon, and from the middle of the valley
as far as the River Jabbok, which is the border of the Ammonites, that is,
half of Gilead,
3 (Dt 3:17; Jos 11:2; 13:20) and the Arabah to the Sea of Galilee eastward,
and toward Beth Jeshimoth, to the Sea of Arabah, the Dead Sea, southward
below the slopes of Pisgah;
4 (Dt 1:4; Nu 21:33-35) and Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant
of the giants, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei
5 (Dt 3:14; Jos 13:11) and ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah, and all
of Bashan to the border of the Geshurites and the Maakathites, and
over half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
6 (Nu 32:33) Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel
struck them down, and the servant of the Lord Moses gave their land
to Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
[1] Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote,
and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the
sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:
[2] Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer,
which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river,
and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the
children of Ammon;
[3] And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the
sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Beth-jeshimoth;
and from the south, under Ashdoth-pisgah:
[4] And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the
giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,
[5] And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the
border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border
of Sihon king of Heshbon.
[6] Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite:
and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession unto the
Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
7 (Jos 11:17) These are the kings of the land whom Joshua
and the children of Israel defeated on the west side of the Jordan,
from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, that rises
toward Seir. Joshua gave their land to the tribes of Israel according
to their allotted portions as an inheritance,
8 (Jos 11:16; 9:1) in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah,
in the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the Negev -
the land of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites,
the Hivites, and the Jebusites:
9 The king of Jericho, one;
the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
10 (Jos 10:23) the king of Jerusalem, one;
the king of Hebron, one;
11 the king of Jarmuth, one;
the king of Lachish, one;
12 (Jos 10:33) the king of Eglon, one;
the king of Gezer, one;
13 (Jos 10:38) the king of Debir, one;
the king of Geder, one;
14 (Nu 21:1) the king of Hormah, one;
the king of Arad, one;
15 the king of Libnah, one;
the king of Adullam, one;
16 (Jos 8:17; 10:28) the king of Makkedah, one;

the king of Hepher, one;
18 the king of Aphek, one;
the king of Lasharon, one;
19 (Jos 11:1) the king of Madon, one;
the king of Hazor, one;
20 (Jos 11:1) the king of Shimron Meron, one;
the king of Akshaph, one;
21 (Jos 17:11) the king of Taanach, one;
the king of Megiddo, one;
22 (Jos 19:37; 21:32) the king of Kedesh, one;
the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;
23 (Jos 11:2) the king of Dor in Naphoth Dor, one;
the king of the people in Gilgal, one;
24 the king of Tirzah, one - 31 kings in all.
[7] And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of
Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of
Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave
unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;
[8] In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the
springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the
Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the
Jebusites:
[9] The king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
[10] The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;
[11] The king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
[12] The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;

[14] The king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;
[15] The king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;
[16] The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;
[17] The king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;
[18] The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;
[19] The king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;
[20] The king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;
[21] The king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;
[22] The king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam of Carmel, one;
[23] The king of Dor in the coast of Dor, one; the king of the nations of
Gilgal, one;
[24] The king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.
JOSHUA 13
Land Still to be Taken
1 (Jos 14:10; Dt 31:3) Now Joshua was old and well advanced in years.
The Lord said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, but very much
of the land still remains to be possessed.
2 (Jos 13:11; Jdg 3:1) "This is the land that remains: all the districts of
the Philistines and those of the Geshurites
3 (Dt 2:23; Jdg 3:3) (from the Shihor east of Egypt northward to
the boundary of Ekron, which is counted as Canaanite;
the cities of the five Philistine governors: Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath,
and Ekron), and also the Avvites' lands.
4 (Jos 19:30; Jdg 1:34-36) Also remaining in the south
is all the land of the Canaanites, Arah owned by the Sidonians, as far
as Aphek at the Amorite boundary,
5 (Jos 12:7; 1Ki 5:18) the land of the Gebalites and all Lebanon to the east,
and from Baal Gad at the foot of Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.
6 (Jos 11:8; 23:13) "I will drive out from before the children of Israel
all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim
and all the Sidonians. Be sure to divide these lands by lot as an inheritance
for Israel as I have commanded you.
7 So now, divide this land as an inheritance for the nine tribes
and the half-tribe of Manasseh."
Division of the Land East of the Jordan River
8 (Jos 12:6) With the other half-tribe of Manasseh, Reuben and Gad took
their inheritance that Moses gave to them on the east side of the Jordan,
as Moses the servant of the Lord had given them:
9 (Nu 21:30; Jos 13:16) from Aroer on the bank of the River Arnon, the city
in the middle of the valley, all the plain from Medeba to Dibon,
10 all the cities of King Sihon of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon,
and the land up to the Ammonite border. 11Moses had also given them Gilead,
the territory of the Geshurites and Maakathites, all of Mount Hermon,
and all of Bashan as far as Salekah,
12 (Jos 12:4) and in Bashan all the kingdom of Og, one of the last remnant
of the giants, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei. Moses struck them down
and took their lands.
13 (Jos 13:11) Yet the children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites
or the Maakathites, and Geshur and Maakah live among Israel until this day.
14 (Nu 18:20-24; Jos 14:3-4) However Moses did not give an inheritance
to the tribe of Levi. The burnt offerings of the Lord God of Israel
are their inheritance, as He said to them.
15 Moses assigned land to the tribe of the Reubenites
according to their clans.
16 (Jos 13:9; 12:2) Their territory was from Aroer
on the edge of the Arnon Valley, the city in the middle of the valley,
all the plain of Medeba,
17 Heshbon and all its towns in the plain: Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,
18 (Nu 21:23) Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
19 (Nu 32:37-38) Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar on the hill of the valley,
20 (Dt 4:46; Jos 12:3) Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth Jeshimoth,
21 (Nu 31:8; Dt 3:10) all the cities of the plain, and the whole kingdom
of King Sihon of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon. Moses struck
him down along with the leaders of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur,
and Reba, who were princes of Sihon who lived in the land.
22 (Nu 31:8) The children of Israel killed Balaam son of Beor,
who practiced divination, with the sword along with the rest of the slain.
23 The border of the Reubenites was the banks of the Jordan.
This was the inheritance of the Reubenites according to their clans:
those towns and their settlements.
24 Moses assigned land to the tribe of Gad for the Gadites according
to their clans.
25 (Nu 32:35; Dt 3:11) Their territory was Jazer, all the cities of Gilead,
and half of the Ammonite land as far as Aroer, which is east of Rabbah,
26 (2Sa 17:27; 2:8) from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah, Betonim,
and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir.
27 (Ge 33:17; Nu 32:36) In the valley were Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah,
Sukkoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of King Sihon of Heshbon,
the Jordan as its boundary to the lower Sea of Galilee
to the east of the Jordan.
28 This was the inheritance of the Gadites according to their clans:
those towns and their settlements.
29 Moses assigned land to the half-tribe of Manasseh
for the descendants of Manasseh according to their clans.
30 (Jos 13:26) Their territory was from Mahanaim, through all of Bashan,
all the kingdom of King Og of Bashan, all the sixty villages of Jair
that are in Bashan,
31 (Jos 12:4; Nu 32:39-40) half of Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei:
cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. This was for the descendants
of Makir son of Manasseh, half of the descendants of Makir by their clans.
32 This is the territory Moses assigned in the desert plains of Moab,
on the eastern side of Jericho and the Jordan.
33 (Jos 18:7; 13:14) Yet Moses did not assign land to the tribe of Levi
as an inheritance. The Lord God of Israel was their inheritance,
as He said to them.
Joshua 13
[1] Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him,
Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land
to be possessed.
[2] This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines,
and all Geshuri,
[3] From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron
northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines;
the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the
Ekronites; also the Avites:
[4] From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is
beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:
[5] And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising,
from Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
[6] All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto
Misrephoth-maim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before
the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for
an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
[7] Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes,
and the half tribe of Manasseh,
[8] With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their
inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses
the servant of the LORD gave them;
[9] From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that
is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;
[10] And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in
Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;
[11] And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all
mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;
[12] All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in
Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite,
and cast them out.
[13] Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor
the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the
Israelites until this day.
[14] Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of
the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto
them.
[15] And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance
according to their families.
[16] And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon,
and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;
[17] Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and
Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,
[18] And Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
[19] And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar in the mount of the
valley,
[20] And Beth-peor, and Ashdoth-pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,
[21] And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of
the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of
Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of
Sihon, dwelling in the country.
[22] Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel
slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.
[23] And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border
thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their
families, the cities and the villages thereof.
[24] And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the
children of Gad according to their families.
[25] And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the
land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;
[26] And from Heshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim
unto the border of Debir;
[27] And in the valley, Beth-aram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon,
the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border,
even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan
eastward.
[28] This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families,
the cities, and their villages.
[29] And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this
was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their
families.
[30] And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og
king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore
cities:
[31] And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og
in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh,
even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.
[32] These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in
the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.
[33] But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God
of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
JOSHUA 14
Division of the Land West of the Jordan
1 (Nu 34:17-29) These are the territories that the children of Israel
inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest,
Joshua son of Nun, and the family leaders of the Israelite
tribes assigned to them.
2 (Nu 33:54; 34:13) Their inheritance fell to them by lot, as the Lord
commanded through Moses, for the nine and a half tribes.
3 (Jos 13:14; 13:8) For Moses had assigned the inheritance of two
and a half tribes on the other side of the Jordan,
but he had not assigned an inheritance among them to the Levites.
4 (Ge 48:5; 1Ch 5:1-2) The descendants of Joseph were two tribes:
Manasseh and Ephraim. They did not give territory to the Levites
in the land, but only towns in which to live, along with the pastures,
livestock, and property.
5 (Jos 21:2) Just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children
of Israel did when they divided the land.
Hebron Given to Caleb
6 (Nu 14:30; 13:6) The descendants of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal,
and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him,
"You know what the Lord said to Moses the man of God about you
and me at Kadesh Barnea.
7 (Nu 13:6; 13:16-20) I was forty years old when Moses the servant
of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy on the land,
and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart.
8 (Nu 14:24; Dt 1:36) My companions who went up with me made
the hearts of the people melt, but I wholeheartedly followed
after the Lord my God.
9 (Dt 1:36; Jos 1:3) On that day Moses swore an oath,
"The land on which your foot treads shall be your inheritance,
for your descendants perpetually, because you completely followed
after the Lord my God."
10 "Now, the Lord has kept me alive, just as He said, for 45 years,
since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered
in the wilderness. Now, here I am this day, 85 years old.
11 (Dt 34:7; 31:2) I am still just as strong today as I was on the day
that Moses sent me. My strength now is just like my strength then,
both for battle and for going out and returning.
12 (Nu 13:33; 13:28) So now, give me this hill country that the Lord
spoke about on that day. That day you heard that the Anakites
live there in large, fortified cities. Perhaps the Lord will be with me,
and I will drive them out, as the Lord said."
13 (Jos 22:6; Jdg 1:20) Then Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb
son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.
14 (Jos 14:8-9) Therefore Hebron became an inheritance of Caleb
son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite until this day because he completely
followed after the Lord, the God of Israel.
15 (Jos 11:23; Ge 23:2) The former name of Hebron was Kiriath Arba.
Arba was the greatest man among the Anakites.
Then the land had rest from war.
Joshua 14
[1] And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in
the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and
the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel,
distributed for inheritance to them.
[2] By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of
Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.
[3] For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on
the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among
them.
[4] For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim:
therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to
dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
[5] As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they
divided the land.
[6] Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son
of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the
LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh-barnea.
[7] Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from
Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was
in mine heart.
[8] Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the
people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
[9] And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet
have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever,
because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
[10] And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty
and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the
children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day
fourscore and five years old.
[11] As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me:
as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go
out, and to come in.
[12] Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that
day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the
cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I
shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
[13] And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron
for an inheritance.
[14] Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh
the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of
Israel.
[15] And the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-arba; which Arba was a great
man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
JOSHUA 15
Allotment for Judah
Jdg 1:11-15
1The allotment for the tribe of Judah, by their clans, stretches southward
to the border of Edom, to the Zin wilderness in the south.
2 Their southern border runs from the southern tip of the Salt Sea,
3 (Nu 34:4; Jdg 1:36) to south of the Ascent of Akrabbim,
crosses to Zin, rises south of Kadesh Barnea, crosses to Hezron,
then rises to Addar, turns toward Karka,
4 (Nu 34:5; Jos 13:3) then crosses to Azmon, goes out to the Brook of Egypt,
and then to the sea. This is your southern border.
5 (Nu 34:12) The eastern border is the Salt Sea up to the mouth of the Jordan.
The northern border runs from the northern extremity of the Dead Sea at the
mouth of the Jordan River,
6 (Jos 18:17) then rises to Beth Hoglah, crosses north of Beth Arabah,
rises to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben,
7 (2Sa 17:17; 1Ki 1:9) and rises to Debir from the Achor Valley,
turns northward to Gilgal opposite the Ascent of Adummim
south of the valley, and crosses to the waters of En Shemesh
and onward to En Rogel.
8 (Jos 18:16; 15:63; 18:28) The border rises to Valley of Ben Hinnom,
to the southern slope of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem),
then rises to the top of the hill west of the Valley of Ben Hinnom,
at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.
9 (1Ch 13:6; Jos 18:15) The border turns from the top of the hill
to the waters of Nephtoah and goes out to the cities of Mount Ephron,
then turns to Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim).
10 (Jdg 14:1) The border turns west of Baalah to Mount Seir,
crosses to the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon),
descends to Beth Shemesh, and crosses to Timnah.
11 The border goes out to the northern slope of Ekron, turns to Shikkeron,
crosses to Mount Baalah, goes out to Jabneel, and ends at the sea.
12 (Nu 34:6-7; Jos 15:47) The western border was the coastline
of the Mediterranean Sea.
These were the borders surrounding the tribe of Judah
according to their clans.
13 According to the word of the Lord to Joshua, Caleb son of Jephunneh
was given an allotment among the tribe of Judah:
Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron).
Arba was the father of Anak.
14 (Jdg 1:10; 1:20) Caleb drove out from there three Anakites:
Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, descendants of Anak.
15 (Jos 10:38) He went up from there against the inhabitants of Debir.
Before the name of Debir was Kiriath Sepher.
16 Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to whoever
attacks Kiriath Sepher and captures it."
17 (Jdg 1:13; 3:9) Othniel son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it,
so Caleb gave him Aksah his daughter in marriage.
18 When she came to Othniel, she urged him to ask her father for a field.
She dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, "What can I do for you?"
19 She answered, "Please give me a blessing. Since you have given me land in
the Negev, now give me springs of water." So he gave her the upper
and lower springs.
Joshua 15
[1] This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their
families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the
uttermost part of the south coast.
[2] And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay
that looketh southward:
[3] And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along
to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed
along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
[4] From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of
Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your
south coast.
[5] And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And
their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the
uttermost part of Jordan:
[6] And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of
Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
[7] And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so
northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim,
which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the
waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:
[8] And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south
side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the
top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which
is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:
[9] And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of
the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the
border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:
[10] And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and
passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north
side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:
[11] And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the
border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out
unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
[12] And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This
is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their
families.
[13] And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children
of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city
of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
[14] And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and
Talmai, the children of Anak.
[15] And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of
Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.
[16] And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him
will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
[17] And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he
gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
[18] And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of
her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her,
What wouldest thou?
[19] Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land;
give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the
nether springs.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah according to their clans.

63 (Jdg 1:21; 1:8) The people of Judah were not able to drive out
the Jebusites living in Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live
with the people of Judah in Jerusalem to this day.
[20] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according

Love God by Loving Others
Matthew 25:31-40
The Judgment of the Nations
31 (Mt 16:27; 19:28) "When the Son of Man comes in His glory,
and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 (Mt 13:49; Mal 3:18) Before Him will be gathered all nations, and He will
separate them one from another
as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats.
33 (Ps 45:9) He will set the sheep at His right hand,
but the goats at the left.
34 (Jas 2:5; Lk 12:32) "Then the King will say to those at His right hand,
'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you
since the foundation of the world.
35 (Eze 18:7; 18:16) For I was hungry and you gave Me food,
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in.
36 (Jas 1:27; Heb 10:34) I was naked and you clothed Me,
I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry
and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39 And when did we see You sick or in prison and come to You?'
40 (Mt 10:42; Pr 19:17) "The King will answer, 'Truly I say to you,
as you have done it for one of the least of these brothers of Mine,
you have done it for Me.'
[31] When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels
with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
[32] And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate
them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
[33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the
left.
[34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed
of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of
the world:
[35] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave
me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
[36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in
prison, and ye came unto me.
[37] Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an
hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
[38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed
thee?
[39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
[40] And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye
have done it unto me.
The Alba family experienced the rare occurrence of birthing two sets of
identical twins just thirteen months apart. How did they juggle their
parental responsibilities as well as their jobs? Their community of friends
and family stepped in. Grandparents on both sides took a set of twins during
the day so the parents could work and pay for health insurance. One company
gave a year's supply of diapers. The couple's coworkers donated their personal
sick days. "We couldn't have done it without our community," they agreed.
In fact, during a live interview, the cohost removed her mic and ran after
one renegade toddler, continuing the communal investment!
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus tells a parable to make the point that when we
serve others, we serve God. After listing acts of service, including providing
food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, lodging for the homeless, clothes
for the naked, and healing for the sick (vv. 35-36), Jesus concludes,
"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye
have done it unto me." (v. 40).
Imagining Jesus as the ultimate recipient of our kindness is true motivation
to serve in our neighbourhoods, families, churches, and world. When He prompts
us to sacrificially invest in the needs of others, we serve Him.
When we love others, we love God.
By: Elisa Morgan
Reflect & Pray
How might you serve Jesus in your community today?
How can you love God by loving others in your path?
Loving God, please open my eyes to the needs of others
around me so I can help meet them and love You better.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools
Week 4 - The Blessings of Grace Day 2 - Alienation and Reconciliation
Col 1:21-22
21 (Eph 2:12) And you, who were formerly alienated
and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
22 (Ro 7:4; Eph 5:27) in the body of His flesh through death,
to present you holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight,
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind
by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy
and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight
Some 50 years ago, Orson Welles's radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds
threw the nation into panic; people on the East Coast ran for their lives,
expecting at any moment to be destroyed by alien invaders from outer space.
Today, of course, we are more sophisticated about such matters.
Television and movies have educated us about alien life forms.
Star Wars and Star Trek have taught us that their appearance can be much
different than ours. Sometimes they are unable to exist in our atmosphere
with artificial life-support systems; their physical makeup is often
incompatible with our environment.
God says that we, apart from Christ, are as incompatible with his kingdom
as the 'aliens' of movies are with Earth's environment.
We are at war with God, a true "war of the worlds" that staggers
the imagination.
Yet God has 'reconciled' us to his world. He has made us fit,
made us able to exist in his kingdom. He has made us part of
his world through Christ's death and resurrection.
Now, through Christ, we are 'holy' and 'without blemish' in God's sight.
And that transformation, ironically, make us 'alien' in the world around us.
No longer do we fit in a world of selfishness and greed, a world where Self
is god and everyone does what is right in his own heart.
We belong, instead, in the kingdom of God's righteousness.
Application
a) In what ways am I an 'alien' in this world?
b) How have I been an 'alien' to God's kingdom?
c) How can today's verses help me deal with my sense of 'not fitting'?
to Jesus?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Ps 37:25-26
25 I have been young, and now am old;
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor their offspring begging bread.
26 The righteous are gracious and lend,
and their offspring are a source of blessing.
25 I have been young, and now am old;
Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth;
And his seed is blessed.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
When you are ill or injured
Matthew 8:14-17
The Healing of Many People
Mk 1:29-34; Lk 4:38-41
14 When Jesus entered Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother,
lying sick with a fever.
15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she rose and served them.
16 When the evening came, they brought to Him many
who were possessed with demons.
And He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all who were sick,
17 to fulfill what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet,
"He Himself took our infirmities
and bore our sicknesses."
[14] And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother
laid, and sick of a fever.
[15] And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and
ministered unto them.
[16] When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed
with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that
were sick:
[17] That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet,
saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Remember God's promises when You pray
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Saskatchewan
Quick facts on Muslims in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan 2015 population 1125400
est Muslim Population 17279
CNMM Networks: Saskatoon
Saskatoon has seen quick growth in its Muslim population over the past
5 years, which maybe as high as 5000 today. Islamic leaders have
focused specifically on this city , having twice already sent cohorts
of about 70 families to start mosques. There are now 7 Islamic centres
of worship and an Islamic madrassah (school) located right next to a
Christian school.
Of particular concern recently is the number of young adults who grew up
in evangelical churches and converted to Islam. Most of these are young
women who were wooed by Muslim man and became emotionally bonded.
Both prior to and after marrying, these women are known to convert to Islam.
Agree in prayer with us for:
- entire congregations and individual believers to catch God's heart
and passion for reaching Muslims in Saskatoon and the other growing
Muslim population centres of Saskatchewan.
- for the eyes and understanding of Canadian youth to be opened to the
spiritual reality of Islam, and not deceived nor manipulated into
converting to a religion which cannot offer assurance of salvation.
- for the few workers among Muslims now engaged there, and for many more
to be raised up into effective witness.
- for prayer and training events that are starting in Saskatoon
to spread and grow to other cities.

Pray for Kosovo
Romans 5:1
Results of Justification
1 (Jn 14:27; Ro 4:5) Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
Mother Teresa's parents were born here in Kosovo. In ancient times,
Kosovo was known as the center of the Dardanian kingdom and the Christian
message first arrived here at the time of the Apostle Paul (Roman 15:19).
Yet Kosovo has undergone much change over the centuries.
Kosovo is the country in Europe with the highest percentage of Muslims
(about 95%). Christians are a minority and together (Catholics, Orthodox
and Protestants) make up about 3% of the population. Muslims and Christians
generally live together tolerably, although recent efforts by extremist
groups to re-Islamise Kosovo, especially its young people, has planted
a threatening seed for the future of the country.
The evangelical church experienced growth between 2000 and 2008,
and it is estimated that over 12000 people now profess faith in Jesus Christ.
In 2007, the Protestant community was officially recognized by the state in
the Law on Religious Rights and Freedoms, which means that conversion
and freedom of belief are guaranteed in the constitution. Many Kosovarians
are generally open to the Gospel. However, new believers often experience
great pressure from their families and friends.
How to Pray
Pray for the many young Kosovars who are emigrating to Western Europe.
Pray that they will come to know Jesus on their travels.
Pray for peace in the north of Kosovo where there is growing conflict
between Kosovo and Serbia. Real peace and reconciliation through Jesus
is needed.
Pray for new church plants in Kosovo. There are many states and villages
where there are no churches yet. There are also still too many unreached
people groups in Kosovo, such as Serbs, Bosnians, Turks, and Gorans,
as well as a large part of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians.
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
47 ... And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
47 ... And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
)
b) Pray that those who serve in the justice system will be agents of true
justice for all.
( Prov 11:1
