Counter Culture Avoiding Deception
Focus 2 Thessalonians 2
2 Thessolonians 1:4
4 (1Th 2:14; 2Co 7:14; 1Th 2:19) So we boast about you in the churches of God
for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations
that you are enduring.
[4] So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your
patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
{protection angainst persecution}
John 17:14-15
14 (Jn 8:23; 17:16) I have given them Your word. And the world has hated them
because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world,
but that You should keep them from the evil one.
[14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they
are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that
thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
{prayer of Jesus for those who believe in Him and will be persecuted for
tehir belief in Him.}
1 Thess 4 and 5 AND Matthew 24 and 25 reveal
A) What's the real deal about The Rapture
B) It's all about the trumpets, the Clouds and the Dead
c) It doesn't matter when, JUST BE READY.
2 Thessalonians 2
The Man of Lawlessness
1 (Mk 13:27; Mt 24:31) Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and concerning our gathering together unto Him, we ask you
2 (Mk 13:7; 1Co 1:8) not to let your mind be quickly shaken or be troubled,
neither in spirit nor by word, nor by letter coming as though from us,
as if the day of Christ is already here.
[1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and by our gathering together unto him,
[2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit,
nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
{reacting to deception, Anti-Crhist}
2 Thessalonians 2
3 (Da 7:25; Jn 17:12) Do not let anyone deceive you in any way.
For that Day will not come unless a falling away comes first,
and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction,
4 (Eze 28:2; 1Co 8:5) who opposes and exalts himself above
all that is called God or is worshipped,
so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as God.
[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition;
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that
is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God.
{Falling Away, Anti-Chirst (counterfeit Crhist)
Matthew 24:9-10
9 (Jn 16:2; Mt 23:34) "Then they will hand you over to be persecuted
and will kill you. And you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
10 (Mt 10:21; 11:6) Then many will fall away, and betray one another,
and hate one another.
[9] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and
ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
[10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and
shall hate one another.
1 Timothy 4:1
1 (Jn 16:13; 2Pe 3:3) Now the Spirit clearly says that in the last times
some will depart from the faith and pay attention to seducing spirits
and doctrines of devils,
[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils;
Revelation 13
The Two Beasts
1 (Rev 12:3; 17:3; Da 11:36) I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast
rising out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, with ten crowns
on his horns, and blasphemous names on his heads.
2 (Rev 16:10) The beast which I saw was like a leopard. His feet were like
those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave
him his power and his throne and great authority.
3 (Rev 17:8; 13:14; 17:13) I saw one of his heads as if it was mortally
wounded, but his deadly wound was healed, and the whole world marveled
and followed the beast.
4 (Rev 13:2; 18:18) They worshipped the dragon who gave authority
to the beast. And they worshipped the beast, saying,
"Who is like the beast? Who is able to wage war with him?"
5 (Da 7:8; 7:11) He was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies.
And he was given authority to wage war for forty-two months.
6 (Rev 12:12) He opened his mouth to speak blasphemies against God,
to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle and those who dwell in heaven.
7 (Da 7:21; Rev 11:7; Da 7:25) It was granted to him to wage war with
the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe
and tongue and nation.
8 (Rev 3:5; 17:8; Php 4:3) All who dwell on the earth will worship him,
all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb
who was slain from the foundation of the world.
9 (Rev 2:7) If anyone has an ear, let him hear:
10 (Rev 14:12; Isa 33:1) "He who is to be taken captive,
into captivity he shall go;
he who kills with the sword,
with the sword he must be killed."(Jer 15:2.)
Here is a call for the patience and the faith of the saints.
11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. He had two horns
like a lamb and he spoke like a dragon.
12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence
and causes the earth and those who dwell on it to worship the first beast,
whose deadly wound was healed.
13 (1Ki 18:38; Mt 24:24) He performs great signs, making fire come down
from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
14 (Rev 12:9; 19:20) He deceives those who dwell on the earth by the signs
which he was granted to do in the presence of the beast, telling those who
dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by a sword
and lived.
15 (Rev 16:2; 19:20) He was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not
worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 (Rev 19:18; 7:3) He causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor,
both free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand
or on their forehead,
17 (Rev 14:11; 15:2) so that no one may buy or sell, except he who has
the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18 (Rev 17:9; 21:17) Here is a call for wisdom: Let him who has
understanding calculate the number of the beast.
It is the number of a man. His number is six hundred and sixty-six.
Revelation 13
[1] And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the
sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and
upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
[2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as
the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon
gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly
wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they
worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to
make war with him?
[5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
[6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name,
and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
[7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome
them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
[8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not
written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the
world.
[9] If any man have an ear, let him hear.
[10] He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth
with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the
faith of the saints.
[11] And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two
horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
[12] And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and
causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast,
whose deadly wound was healed.
[13] And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from
heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
[14] And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those
miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them
that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which
had the wound by a sword, and did live.
[15] And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the
image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not
worship the image of the beast should be killed.
[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,
to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
[17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the
name of the beast, or the number of his name.
[18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the
beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six.
Daniel 11 (?)
Is 14:12-14
12 (Lk 10:18; 2Pe 1:19) How are you fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who weaken the nations!
13 (Eze 28:2) For you have said in your heart,
"I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit also on the mount of the congregation,
in the recesses of the north;
14 (Isa 47:8; 2Th 2:4) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High."
[12] How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art
thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
[13] For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of
the congregation, in the sides of the north:
[14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most
High.
Lucifer wished to usuro the creator from His throne hence his rebellion
}
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
6 Now you know what restrains him that he might be revealed in his time.
7 (Rev 17:5; 17:7) For the mystery of lawlessness is already working. Only
He who is now restraining him will do so until He is taken out of the way.
[5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth
will let, until he be taken out of the way.
{ The Lord God is holding back the identity of the Anti-Christ until
such time of revelation }
8 (Isa 11:4; 2Th 2:3) Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord
will consume with the breath of His mouth, and destroy with the brightness
of His presence,
9 (Mt 24:24; Rev 18:23) even him, whose coming is in accordance
with the working of Satan with all power and signs and false wonders,
10 (1Co 1:18) and with all deception of unrighteousness
among those who perish, because they did not receive
the love for the truth that they might be saved.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
[9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
{ Jesus will overthrow the Anti-Christ}
11 (Ro 1:28; Eze 14:9) Therefore God will send them a strong delusion,
that they should believe the lie:
12 (Ro 1:32; 2:8) that they all might be condemned who did not believe
the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
{ Those who delight in tehir delusion of Evil will be rewarded eternally
in Hell.}
Chosen for Salvation
13 (1Th 1:4; 2Th 1:3) But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you,
beloved brothers of the Lord, because God has from the beginning called you
to salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief of the truth.
14 (1Th 2:12; 1:5) To this He called you by our gospel,
to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 (1Co 11:2; 16:13; 2Th 2:2) Therefore, brothers, stand firm
and hold the traditions which you have been taught,
whether by word or by our letter.
16 (Jn 3:16; 1Th 3:11) Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself,
and God our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal
consolation and good hope through grace,
17 (2Th 3:3; 1Th 3:2) comfort your hearts and establish you in
every good word and work.
[13] But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved
of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation
through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
[14] Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
[15] Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have
been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
[16] Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath
loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through
grace,
[17] Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

and persecution}

He is a great King over all the earth.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) He chose our inheritance for us,
the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) God went up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with understanding.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) The princes of peoples are gathered together,
even the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.
Psalm 47
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
[1] O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of
triumph.
[2] For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
[3] He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
[4] He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he
loved. Selah.
[5] God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
[6] Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing
praises.
[7] For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with
understanding.
[8] God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his
holiness.
[9] The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the
God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly
exalted.
Psalms 48
A Song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Beautiful in elevation,
the joy of the whole earth,
is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
the city of the great King.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) God is known in her citadels
as a refuge.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) For the kings were assembled,
they passed by together.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) They saw it, and so they were astounded;
they were alarmed, they hurried away.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Trembling seized them there,
and pain like a woman in labor;
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of Hosts, in the city of our God;
God will establish it forever. Selah
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) We have thought of Your lovingkindness, O God,
in the midst of Your temple.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) According to Your name, O God,
so is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) May Mount Zion rejoice,
may the daughters of Judah be glad, because of Your judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her; count her towers;
13 mark well her bulwarks; consider her citadels;
that you may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this God is our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide even to death.
Psalm 48
A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah.
[1] Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in
the mountain of his holiness.
[2] Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on
the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
[3] God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
[4] For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
[5] They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted
away.
[6] Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
[7] Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
[8] As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in
the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.
[9] We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy
temple.
[10] According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the
earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
[11] Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of
thy judgments.
[12] Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
[13] Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell
it to the generation following.
[14] For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even
unto death.
Psalms 49
For the Music Director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation
of my heart will be understanding.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will incline my ear to a parable;
I will expound my riddle with a harp.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Why should I fear in the days of evil,
when the iniquity of my stalkers surrounds me?
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Those who trust in their wealth,
and boast in the multitude of their riches,
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) none of them can by any means redeem the other,
nor give to God a ransom for anyone,
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) for the redemption of their souls is costly;
even so people cease to exist forever,
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) making efforts to live eternally, and not see the pit.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) For one sees that wise men die,
together the fool and the brute perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Their graves become their perpetual homes,
and their dwelling places to all generations,
though they call their lands after their own names.
12 But a man does not abide in honour;
mankind is like the beasts that come to ruin.
13 This is their way, it is their folly;
yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah
14 Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd;
the upright shall rule over them in the morning,
and their form shall waste away in Sheol, far from their dwelling.
15 But God shall redeem my soul from the power of Sheol,
for He shall receive me. Selah
16 Do not fear when one is made rich,
when the glory of his house is increased,
17 for he takes nothing away in death; his glory does not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he blesses his soul-
and men will praise you when you do well for yourself-
19 that soul will go to the generation of his fathers;
they will never see light.
20 A man in honor, and yet without understanding,
is like the animals that perish.
Psalm 49
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
[1] Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
[2] Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
[3] My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be
of understanding.
[4] I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon
the harp.
[5] Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my
heels shall compass me about?
[6] They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude
of their riches;
[7] None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a
ransom for him:
[8] (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
[9] That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
[10] For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish
person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
[11] Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and
their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their
own names.
[12] Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts
that perish.
[13] This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their
sayings. Selah.
[14] Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and
the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty
shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
[15] But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall
receive me. Selah.
[16] Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house
is increased;
[17] For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not
descend after him.
[18] Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee,
when thou doest well to thyself.
[19] He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see
light.
[20] Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that
perish.
Psalms 84
For the Music Director. According to The Gittith.
A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts!
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my body cry out for the living God.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Yes, the sparrow has found a home and the swallow a nest
for herself, where she may lay her young, even at Your altars,
O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
they continually praise You. Selah
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
in whose heart are the paths to Zion.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
they makes it a spring; the early rain also covers it with pools.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) They go from strength to strength;
every one of them appears in Zion before God.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) O Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer,
and give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Behold, O God our shield,
and look upon the face of Your anointed.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) For a day in Your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord will give favor and glory,
for no good thing will He withhold
from the one who walks uprightly.
12 O Lord of Hosts,
blessed is the man who trusts in You.
Psalm 84
To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
[1] How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
[2] My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my
heart
and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
[3] Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for
herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of
hosts, my
King, and my God.
[4] Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising
thee. Selah.
[5] Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the
ways of them.
[6] Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also
filleth the pools.
[7] They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth
before God.
[8] O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
[9] Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
[10] For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a
doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of
wickedness.
[11] For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and
glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
[12] O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Psalms 85
For the Music Director. A Psalm of the songs of Korah.
1 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) You have withdrawn all Your wrath;
You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Restore us, O God of our salvation,
and put away Your indignation towardus.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Will You not revive us again,
that Your people may rejoice in You?
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Show us Your mercy, O Lord,
and grant us Your deliverance.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints,
but let them not turn again to folly.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Surely His salvation is near to them who fear Him,
that glory may dwell in our land.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Mercy and truth have met together;
righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Truth springs from the ground,
and righteousness looks down from the sky.
12 Yes, the Lord gives that which is good,
and our land shall yield its increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before Him
and prepare a way for His footsteps.
Psalm 85
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
[1] LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back
the captivity of Jacob.
[2] Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all
their sin. Selah.
[3] Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the
fierceness of thine anger.
[4] Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
[5] Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to
all generations?
[6] Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
[7] Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
[8] I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto
his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
[9] Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in
our land.
[10] Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed
each other.
[11] Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down
from heaven.
[12] Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield
her increase.
[13] Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his
steps.
Psalms 87
A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song.
1 The city of His foundation is on the holy mountain.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God. Selah.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon
to those who know Me;
look, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia;
"This man was born there."
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) But of Zion it shall be said,
"This one and that one were born in her,"
for the Most High shall make her secure.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) The Lord shall count when He registers the people,
"This one was born there." Selah
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) As well the singers and the players of instruments say,
"All my springs are in you."
Psalm 87
A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.
[1] His foundation is in the holy mountains.
[2] The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
[3] Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.
[4] I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold
Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.
[5] And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the
highest himself shall establish her.
[6] The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was
born there. Selah.
[7] As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my
springs are in thee.

Isaiah 11:1-5
Isaiah 11
The Righteous Branch of Jesse
1 (Isa 11:10; 4:2; 53:2) And there shall come forth a shoot
from the stump of Jesse,
and a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2 (Isa 61:1; Mt 3:16; Isa 42:1) The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
3 (Jn 7:24) He shall delight in the fear of the Lord,
and he shall not judge by what his eyes see,
nor reprove by what his ears hear;
4 (Mal 4:6; Job 4:9; Ps 2:9) but with righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and reprove with fairness for the meek of the earth.
He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.
5 (Eph 6:14; Isa 25:1) Righteousness shall be the belt of his loins,
and faithfulness the belt about his waist.
[1] And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch
shall grow out of his roots:
[2] And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and
of the fear of the LORD;
[3] And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and
he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the
hearing of his ears:
[4] But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity
for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his
mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
[5] And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the
girdle of his reins.
After a customer at a grocery store self-checkout station had completed her
transaction, I made my way to the station and proceeded to scan my goods.
Unexpectedly, a visibly angry person confronted me. I'd failed to notice that
she was actually next in line for checkout. Recognising my mistake, I
sincerely said, "I'm sorry." She replied (though not limited to these words),
"No, you're not!"
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you were wrong,
acknowledged it, and tried to make things right-only to be rebuffed? It
doesn't feel good to be misunderstood or misjudged, and the closer we are
to those we offend or those who offend us, the more painful it is.
How we wish they could see our hearts!
The prophet Isaiah's snapshot in Isaiah 11:1-5 is that of a God-appointed
ruler with wisdom for perfect judgment. "He will not judge by what he sees
with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with
righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions
for the poor of the earth" (vv. 3-4). This was fulfilled in the life and
ministry of Jesus. Though in our sinfulness and weakness we don't always get
it right, we can take heart that the all-seeing, all-knowing God of heaven
knows us fully and judges us rightly.

Reflect & Pray
When have you been misunderstood or misjudged? How does it encourage you
to know that God sees and knows you fully, even when others don't?
Father, thank You for knowing everything about me.
Please forgive me when I'm harsh in my judgments of others.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools
Week 2 - Saved by Grace - Day 1 - Sin Universal
Romans 3:23-24
23 (Ro 3:9) For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,
24 (Ro 4:16; Col 1:14) being justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus:
A distinguished middle-aged man stood trembling before his church
to give his testimony. Years before, in the grip of a mental illness
that nearly destroyed his life, he had taken the life of his own daughter
and tried to kill himself. But he did not die; tried and convicted, he
spent years in prison, and even longer in the prison of his own guilt.
After the service, a young woman walked up to him and simply said,
"Thank you for sharing. I've sinned, too."
We've all sinned, too - lest we forget or rationalise, the Bible reminds
us in no uncertain terms. And the writer of these verses was no stranger
to sin: he was the Pharisee, the holier-than-thou religious leader
who officiated at the stoning death of Stephen. He was the Jew who had
scattered and killed the followers of this heretic called Christ. He
thought he was righteous while he murdered God's people.
Christians tends to establish a "hierarchy" of sin - sexual sin is "worse"
than pride: murder is "more horrible" than slander. Yet the Bible gives
no indication that god acknowledges our hierarchy. Sin is sin; all have
sinned, and if we are guilty at one point, we are guilty of all.
Rather than rationalise our individual sins as being "less bad"
than someone else's, we need to openly confess our dilemma as sinners
and turn to God for his remedy. We cannot and do not need to earn or
deserve that grace - it is a gift from God.
Application
a) Have I ever compared my sin with someone else's in order
to make myself fell like a better person? Why is such
comparison not a valid remedy for sin?
b) Why do I need to acknowledge my sin honestly before I can
receive justification?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Is 55:11
11 (Isa 45:23; 46:10) so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
When you are ill or injured
James 5:13-16
13 (Ps 50:15; Eph 5:19) Is anyone among you suffering?
Let him pray. Is anyone merry? Let him sing psalms.
14 (Mk 6:13; 16:18; Ac 14:23) Is anyone sick among you?
Let him call for the elders of the church,
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil
in the name of the Lord.
15 (Isa 33:24; Jas 1:6) And the prayer of faith will save
the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
16 (Ge 20:17; 18:23-32) Confess your faults to one another
and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.
Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise
him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availeth much.
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020
Under the Keep Praying page
When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]
Footnotes
Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
And
Thank you for praying through the
5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.
"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.
Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians
and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the
love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.
One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by
light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.
As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and
confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution
to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.
Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.
Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father
to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.
I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.
God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through
the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom
and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."
13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Spirit.

ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

10 (Rev 14:12; Isa 33:1) "He who is to be taken captive,
into captivity he shall go;
he who kills with the sword,
with the sword he must be killed."(Jer 15:2.)

Is 14:12-14
12 (Lk 10:18; 2Pe 1:19) How are you fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who weaken the nations!
13 (Eze 28:2) For you have said in your heart,
"I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit also on the mount of the congregation,
in the recesses of the north;
[14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most
High.

{ The Lord God is holding back the identity of the Anti-Christ until
such time of revelation }
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
[9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
{ Jesus will overthrow the Anti-Christ}
{ Those who delight in tehir delusion of Evil will be rewarded eternally
in Hell.}
[16] Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath
loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through
grace,
[17] Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) God went up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with understanding.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) God reigns over the nations;
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) They saw it, and so they were astounded;
they were alarmed, they hurried away.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Trembling seized them there,
and pain like a woman in labor;
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of Hosts, in the city of our God;
God will establish it forever. Selah
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) We have thought of Your lovingkindness, O God,
in the midst of Your temple.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) According to Your name, O God,
so is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) May Mount Zion rejoice,
may the daughters of Judah be glad, because of Your judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her; count her towers;
13 mark well her bulwarks; consider her citadels;
that you may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this God is our God forever and ever;
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will incline my ear to a parable;
I will expound my riddle with a harp.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Why should I fear in the days of evil,
when the iniquity of my stalkers surrounds me?
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Those who trust in their wealth,
and boast in the multitude of their riches,
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) none of them can by any means redeem the other,
nor give to God a ransom for anyone,
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) for the redemption of their souls is costly;
even so people cease to exist forever,
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) making efforts to live eternally, and not see the pit.
12 But a man does not abide in honour;
mankind is like the beasts that come to ruin.
13 This is their way, it is their folly;
yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah
14 Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd;
the upright shall rule over them in the morning,
and their form shall waste away in Sheol, far from their dwelling.
15 But God shall redeem my soul from the power of Sheol,
for He shall receive me. Selah
16 Do not fear when one is made rich,
when the glory of his house is increased,
17 for he takes nothing away in death; his glory does not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he blesses his soul-
and men will praise you when you do well for yourself-
19 that soul will go to the generation of his fathers;
they will never see light.
[6] They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude
of their riches;
[15] But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall
receive me. Selah.
[16] Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house
is increased;
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my body cry out for the living God.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Yes, the sparrow has found a home and the swallow a nest
for herself, where she may lay her young, even at Your altars,
O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
they continually praise You.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) They go from strength to strength;
every one of them appears in Zion before God.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord will give favor and glory,
for no good thing will He withhold
from the one who walks uprightly.
1 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) You have withdrawn all Your wrath;
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Mercy and truth have met together;
righteousness and peace have kissed.
Selah.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon
to those who know Me;
look, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia;

3 (Jn 7:24) He shall delight in the fear of the Lord,
and he shall not judge by what his eyes see,
nor reprove by what his ears hear;
[2] And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and
of the fear of the LORD;

Week 2 - Saved by Grace - Day 1 - Sin Universal
Romans 3:23-24
23 (Ro 3:9) For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,
24 (Ro 4:16; Col 1:14) being justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Is 55:11
11 (Isa 45:23; 46:10) so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise
him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availeth much.
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
