Day 182, 1 July 2022

1) Proverbs 30 - 31

Proverbs 30

The Sayings of Agur

1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, the oracle.

The man declares to Ithiel,

to Ithiel and Ukal:

2 (Ps 73:22) Surely I am more brutish than any man,

and have not the understanding of a man.

3 (Pr 9:10) I neither learned wisdom,

nor have the knowledge of the holy.

4 (Jn 3:13; Job 26:8; Ps 2:7) Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended?

Who has gathered the wind in his fists?

Who has bound the waters in a garment?

Who has established all the ends of the earth?

What is His name, and what is the name of His son,

if you know?

5 (Ps 12:6; 18:30) Every word of God is pure;

He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

6 (Dt 4:2; 12:32 ) Do not add to His words,

lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.

7 Two things I have required of you;

do not deny me them before I die:

8 (Mt 6:11; Lk 11:3) Remove vanity and lies far from me-

give me neither poverty nor riches;

feed me with food convenient for me;

9 (Ex 20:7; Dt 31:20) lest I be full, and deny You,

and say, "Who is the Lord?"

or lest I be poor, and steal,

and take the name of my God in vain.

10 Do not accuse a servant to his master,

lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.

11 (Pr 20:20; 30:17 ) There is a generation that curses their father,

and does not bless its mother.

12 (Lk 18:11; Pr 16:2) There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,

and yet is not washed from its filthiness.

13 (Pr 6:17; Ps 101:5) There is a generation-oh, how lofty are their eyes!

And their eyelids are lifted up.

14 (Job 29:17; Ps 14:4) There is a generation whose teeth are as swords,

and their jaw teeth as knives,

to devour the poor from off the earth,

and the needy from among men.

15 (Pr 6:16; 30:21) The leech has two daughters,

crying, "Give, give."

There are three things that are never satisfied,

indeed, four things never say, "It is enough":

16 (Pr 27:20; Hab 2:5) the grave, the barren womb,

the earth that is not filled with water,

and the fire that never says, "It is enough."

17 (Pr 23:22; Dt 21:18-21) The eye that mocks at his father,

and despises to obey his mother,

the ravens of the valley will pick it out,

and the young eagles will eat it.

18 (Job 42:3) There are three things which are too wonderful for me,

indeed, four which I do not know:

19 the way of an eagle in the air,

the way of a serpent on a rock,

the way of a ship in the midst of the sea,

and the way of a man with a maid.

20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman;

she eats and wipes her mouth,

and says, "I have done no wickedness."

21 For three things the earth is disquieted,

and for four which it cannot bear:

22 (Pr 19:10; Ecc 10:7) for a servant when he reigns,

and a fool when he is filled with food,

23 for a hateful woman when she is married,

and a handmaid who is heir to her mistress.

24 There are four things which are little upon the earth,

but they are exceeding wise:

25 (Pr 6:6-8) The ants are a people not strong,

yet they prepare their food in the summer;

26 (Ps 104:18; Lev 11:5) the badgers are but a feeble folk,

yet they make their houses in the rocks;

27 (Joel 2:25) the locusts have no king,

yet they go forth all of them by bands;

28 the spider takes hold with her hands,

and is in kings' palaces.

29 There are three things which go well,

indeed, four are comely in going:

30 Jdg 14:18 a lion which is strongest among beasts,

and does not turn away for any;

31 a strutting rooster, a male goat also,

and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

32 (Job 21:5; 40:4) If you have been foolish in lifting up yourself,

or if you have thought evil,

put your hand on your mouth.

33 (Pr 29:22) Surely the churning of milk brings forth butter,

and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood,

so the forcing of wrath brings forth strife.

[1] The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake

unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

[2] Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the

understanding of a man.

[3] I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

[4] Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the

wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath

established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his

son's name, if thou canst tell?

[5] Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their

trust in him.

[6] Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a

[7] Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:

[8] Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches;

feed me with food convenient for me:

found guilty.

[11] There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless

their mother.

[12] There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not

[13] There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids

are lifted up.

[14] There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth

as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among

men.

[15] The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three

things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

[16] The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with

water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

[17] The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother,

the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

[18] There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four

to her mistress.

[24] There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are

[25] The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the

[26] The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the

[27] The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

[28] The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

[29] There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:

[30] A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

[31] A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no

rising up.

[32] If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast

thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

[33] Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of

the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth

strife.

Proverbs 31

The Sayings of King Lemuel's Mother

1 The words of King Lemuel, an oracle that his mother taught him:

2 (Isa 49:15; 1Sa 1:11) What, my son? And what, the son of my womb?

And what, the son of my vows?

3 (Dt 17:17; Ne 13:26) Do not give your strength to women,

nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

4 (Ecc 10:17; Pr 20:1) It is not for kings, O Lemuel,

it is not for kings to drink wine,

nor for princes strong drink;

5 lest they drink and forget the law,

and pervert the justice of any of the afflicted.

6 (1Ti 5:23) Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish,

and wine to those who are of heavy hearts.

7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty,

and remember his misery no more.

8 (Ps 82:3-4) Open your mouth for the speechless

in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

9 (Lev 19:15; Dt 1:16) Open your mouth, judge righteously,

and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Epilogue: The Virtuous Wife

10 (Ru 3:11; Pr 12:4) Who can find a virtuous woman?

For her worth is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband safely trusts in her,

so that he will have no lack of gain.

12 She will do him good and not evil

all the days of her life.

13 She seeks wool and flax,

and works willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,

she brings her food from afar.

15 (Lk 12:42; Ro 12:11) She also rises while it is yet night,

and gives food to her household,

and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considers a field and buys it;

with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

17 (1Ki 18:46; 2Ki 4:29) She clothes herself with strength,

and strengthens her arms.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is good;

her candle does not go out by night.

1 9She lays her hands to the spindle,

and her hands hold the distaff.

20 (Eph 4:28; Job 31:16-20 ) She stretches out her hand to the poor;

yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household,

for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 (Ge 41:42; Pr 7:16) She makes herself coverings of tapestry;

her clothing is silk and purple.

23 (Ru 4:1; Dt 16:18) Her husband is known in the gates,

when he sits among the elders of the land.

24 She makes fine linen and sells it,

and delivers sashes to the merchant.

25 (1Ti 2:10) Strength and honor are her clothing,

and she will rejoice in time to come.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,

and in her tongue is the teaching of kindness.

27 She looks well to the ways of her household,

and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;

her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many daughters have done virtuously,

but you excel them all."

30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,

but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,

and let her own works praise her in the gates.

[1] The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

[2] What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

[3] Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth

kings.

[4] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor

for princes strong drink:

[5] Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of

the afflicted.

[6] Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those

that be of heavy hearts.

[7] Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

[8] Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are

appointed to destruction.

[9] Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and

needy.

[10] Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

[11] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall

have no need of spoil.

[12] She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

[13] She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

[14] She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

household, and a portion to her maidens.

[16] She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she

planteth a vineyard.

[17] She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

[18] She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out

by night.

[19] She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

[20] She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her

[22] She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and

purple.

[23] Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of

the land.

[24] She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the

merchant.

[25] Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to

come.

[26] She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of

kindness.

[27] She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread

of idleness.

[28] Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he

praiseth her.

[29] Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

[30] Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the

LORD, she shall be praised.

[31] Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in

the gates.

Entitled Celestial Communion

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

The Lord's Supper

Mt 26:26-29; Mk 14:22-25; Lk 22:14-20

23 (1Co 15:3; Mt 26:26-28; Mk 14:22-24) I have received of the Lord that

which I delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night in which

He was betrayed, took bread.

24 When He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take and eat.

This is My body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me."

(Mt 26:26; Mk 14:22; Lk 22:19.)

25 (Lk 22:20; 2Co 3:6) In the same manner He took the cup after He had

supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood.

Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

(Mt 26:27-28; Mk 14:24; Lk 22:20.)

26 (Jn 21:22; 1Co 4:5) As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup,

you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.

[23] For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you,

That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

[24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is

my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

[25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying,

This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink

it, in remembrance of me.

[26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the

Lord's death till he come.

When Apollo 11's Eagle lunar module landed on the moon's Sea of Tranquility

on July 20, 1969, the space travelers took time to recover from their flight

before stepping onto the moon's surface. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin had received

permission to bring bread and wine so he could take Communion. After reading

Scripture, he tasted the first foods ever consumed on the moon. Later,

he wrote: "I poured the wine into the chalice our church had given me.

In the one-sixth gravity of the moon the wine curled slowly and gracefully

up the side of the cup." As Aldrin enjoyed this celestial Communion, his

actions proclaimed his belief in Christ's sacrifice on the cross

and the guarantee of His second coming.

The apostle Paul encourages us to remember how Jesus sat with His disciples

"on the night he was betrayed" (1 Corinthians 11:23). Christ compared His

soon-to-be sacrificed body to the bread (v. 24). He declared the wine as a

symbol of "the new covenant" that secured our forgiveness and salvation

through His blood shed on the cross (v. 25). Whenever and wherever

we take Communion, we're proclaiming our trust in the reality of Jesus'

sacrifice and our hope in His promised second coming (v. 26).

No matter where we are, we can celebrate our faith in the one and only

risen and returning Savior-Jesus Christ-with confidence.

By: Xochitl Dixon

Reflect & Pray

What has kept you from prayerfully taking Communion in remembrance

of Christ? How does it make you feel to know that a fellow believer

took Communion to honor Jesus on the moon?

Jesus, please help me live boldly for You until You come again!

3) Daily verses taken from Billy Graham Evangelical Organisation

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 1 Knowing God's Word Day 6 - Shielded by the Word

Proverbs 30:5

5 (Ps 12:6; 18:30) Every word of God is pure;

He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

5 Every word of God is pure:

He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

A wife of ten years, betrayed by her husband's infidelity, declares that

she will never trust a man again. A teenage son says of his father, "I

can't depend on him anymore! Dad always talk big and makes promises,

but he never does what he says." A career woman, her reputation

undermined by gossip, leaves the church broken, and never returns.

Human beings are weak, volatile, unfaithful creatures; often we

break our word and hurt others in the process. But the Scripture

clearly assures us that God's Word is not like the word of man.

God always remains faithful to his Word, always fulfills his promises,

always does what he says he will do.

God's word is pure (or flawless), Proverbs 30:5 says. His Word

is not distorted with mixed motives or flawed by untruth. God's Word

is dependable, able to support and lift us up, able to speak

encouragement to us. His Word is a "shield" a protection for us

against the onslaughts of the Enemy, a place of refuge from the struggle

and confusion of daily life.

We live in a world that recognises no absolute truth. Morality,

values, relationships, ethics - every decision of life, it seems,

"depends on the situation." But in the midst of the confusion,

God interjects his Word - timeless, pure, trustworthy, reliable.

We can depend upon God's Word. We can turn to him to verify who we are

and the purposes for which we were created. We can find refuge in his truth,

and rest in the knowledge that whatever he says, he will do.

Application

a) In my own experience, how have I found God's Word

to be different from the word of men and women?

b) In what areas of my life do I need the assurance of the validity

and dependability of God's Word?

4) Prosperity verses from Kenneth Copeland

Joshua 1:8

8 (Ps 19:14; 119:15) This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth.

Meditate on it day and night so that you may act carefully according to all

that is written in it. For then you will make your way successful,

and you will be wise.

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt

meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according

to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,

and then thou shalt have good success.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are discouraged or Depressed

Matthew 11: 25-30

25 (Ps 8:2; Jn 11:41) At that time Jesus said, "I thank You, O Father,

Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things

from the wise and prudent and revealed them to infants.

26 Even so, Father, for it seemed good in Your sight.

27 (Jn 10:15; Mt 28:18; Jn 1:18) "All things are delivered to Me

by My Father, and no one knows the Son, except the Father.

And no one knows the Father, except the Son and he to whom

the Son will reveal Him.

28 (Jn 7:37; 6:37) "Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavily

burdened, and I will give you rest.

29 (Jer 6:16; Jn 13:15) Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me.

For I am meek and lowly in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls.(Jer 6:16).

30 (1Jn 5:3) For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."

because He has dealt bountifully with me.

The Hidden Revelation

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father,

Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things

from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man

knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father,

save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek

and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

And

Thank you for praying through the

5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,

I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to

cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians

and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the

love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.

One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by

light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.

As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and

confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution

to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.

Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.
