1) Proverbs 25 - 29

Proverbs 25

More Proverbs of Solomon

1 (Pr 1:1; 1Ki 4:32)These are also proverbs of Solomon,

which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied.

2 (Dt 29:29; Job 29:16) It is the glory of God to conceal a thing,

but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

3 As the heaven for height, and the earth for depth,

so the heart of kings is unsearchable.

4 (2Ti 2:20-21) Take away the dross from the silver,

and there will come forth a vessel for the refiner.

5 (Pr 16:12; 20:8) Take away the wicked from before the king,

and his throne will be established in righteousness.

6 Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king,

and do not stand in the place of great men;

7 for it is better that it be said to you, "Come up here,"

than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince,

whom your eyes have seen.

8 (Mt 5:25; Pr 17:14) Do not go forth hastily to strive;

lest you do not know what to do in the end,

when your neighbor has put you to shame.

9 (Pr 11:13) Debate your cause with your neighbor himself,

and do not disclose a secret to another;

10 lest he who hears it put you to shame,

and your reputation be ruined.

11 (Pr 15:23; Isa 50:4) A word fitly spoken

is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

12 (Ps 141:5) As an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold,

so is a wise reprover to an obedient ear.

13 (Pr 13:17) As the cold of snow in the time of harvest,

so is a faithful messenger to those who send him,

for he refreshes the soul of his masters.

14 (Pr 20:6) Whoever boasts himself of a false gift

is like clouds and wind without rain.

15 (Pr 15:1; Ecc 10:4) By long forbearing is a prince persuaded,

and a soft tongue breaks the bone.

16 (Pr 25:27) Have you found honey? Eat only as much as is sufficient for you,

lest you be filled with it and vomit it.

17 Withdraw your foot from your neighbor's house,

lest he be weary of you and so hate you.

18 (Ps 57:4; Pr 12:18) A man who bears false witness against his neighbour

is like a club, a sword, and a sharp arrow.

19 (Isa 36:6 )Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble

is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.

20 (Ro 12:15) As he who takes away a garment in cold weather,

and as vinegar on soda,

so is he who sings songs to a heavy heart.

21 (Ex 23:4-5; Mt 5:44) If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;

and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;

22 (2Sa 16:12) for you will heap coals of fire upon his head,

and the Lord will reward you.

23 (Ps 101:5 ) The north wind brings rain,

and a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.

24 (Pr 21:9) It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop

than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

25 (Pr 15:30) As cold waters to a thirsty soul,

so is good news from a far country.

26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked

is as a troubled fountain and a corrupt spring.

27 (Pr 27:2) It is not good to eat much honey;

so for men to search their own glory is not glory.

28 (Pr 16:32) He who has no rule over his own spirit

is like a city that is broken down and without walls.

[1] These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of

Judah copied out.

[2] It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings

is to search out a matter.

[3] The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings

is unsearchable.

[4] Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel

for the finer.

[5] Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be

established in righteousness.

[6] Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the

place of great men:

[7] For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that

thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes

have seen.

[8] Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end

thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.

[9] Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret

to another:

[10] Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

[11] A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

[12] As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise

reprover upon an obedient ear.

[13] As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger

to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

[14] Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without

rain.

[15] By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh

the bone.

[16] Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest

thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

[17] Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of

thee, and so hate thee.

[18] A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul,

and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

[19] Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken

tooth, and a foot out of joint.

[20] As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon

nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart.

[21] If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty,

give him water to drink:

[22] For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall

reward thee.

[23] The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a

backbiting tongue.

[24] It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a

brawling woman and in a wide house.

[25] As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

[26] A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled

fountain, and a corrupt spring.

[27] It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory

is not glory.

[28] He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken

down, and without walls.

Proverbs 26

1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest,

so honor is not seemly for a fool.

2 (Nu 23:8; 2Sa 16:12) As the bird by flitting, as the swallow by flying,

so the curse without cause will not alight.

3 (Ps 32:9; Pr 10:13) A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,

and a rod for the fool's back.

4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly,

lest you also be like unto him.

5 (Pr 28:11; Mt 16:1--4) Answer a fool according to his folly,

lest he be wise in his own conceit.

6 (Pr 10:26) He who sends a message by the hand of a fool

cuts off the feet and drinks violence.

7 (Pr 26:9) The legs of the lame are not equal;

so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

8 (Pr 26:1) As he who binds a stone in a sling,

so is he who gives honor to a fool.

9 (Pr 23:35) As a thorn goes into the hand of a drunkard,

so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

10 The great God who formed all things

rewards the fool and rewards the transgressor.

11 (Ex 8:15; 2Pe 2:22) As a dog returns to its vomit,

so a fool returns to his folly.

12 (Pr 29:20; Mt 21:31; Pr 26:5) Do you see a man wise in his own conceit?

There is more hope for a fool than for him.

13 (Pr 22:13) The slothful man says, "There is a lion in the way!

A lion is in the streets!"

14 As the door turns upon his hinges,

so does the slothful upon his bed.

15 (Pr 19:24) The slothful buries his hand in his bowl;

it grieves him to bring it again to his mouth.

16 (Pr 26:12) The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit

than seven men who can answer reasonably.

17 He who passes by and meddles with strife not belonging to him

is like one who takes a dog by the ears.

18 As a madman who casts

firebrands, arrows, and death,

19 (Eph 5:4) so is the man who deceives his neighbor,

and says, "I was only joking."

20 (Pr 22:10; 16:28) Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;

so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases.

21 (Pr 15:18; 29:22) As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire,

so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

22 (Pr 18:8) The words of a talebearer are as wounds,

and go down into the innermost parts of the body.

23 Burning lips and a wicked heart

are like earthenware covered with silver dross.

24 (Pr 12:20) He who hates dissembles with his lips,

and lays up deceit within him;

25 (Ps 28:3) when he speaks kindly, do not believe him,

for there are seven abominations in his heart;

26 though his hatred is covered by deceit,

his wickedness will be shown before the whole congregation.

27 (Pr 28:10; Est 7:10) Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,

and he who rolls a stone, it will return upon him.

28 (Pr 29:5 ) A lying tongue hates those who are afflicted by it,

and a flattering mouth works ruin.

1] As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly

for a fool.

[2] As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse

causeless shall not come.

[3] A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

[4] Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

[5] Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

[6] He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet,

and drinketh damage.

[7] The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

[8] As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a

fool.

[9] As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the

mouth of fools.

[10] The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and

rewardeth transgressors.

[11] As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

[12] Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool

than of him.

[13] The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the

streets.

[14] As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

[15] The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it

again to his mouth.

[16] The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render

a reason.

[17] He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is

like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

[18] As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

[19] So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

[20] Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no

talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

[21] As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious

man to kindle strife.

[22] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the

innermost parts of the belly.

[23] Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver

dross.

[24] He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;

[25] When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations

in his heart.

[26] Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed

before the whole congregation.

[27] Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it

will return upon him.

[28] A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering

mouth worketh ruin.

Proverbs 27

1 (Lk 12:19-20; Jas 4:13-16 ) Do not boast about tomorrow,

for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

2 (Pr 25:27; 2Co 10:12 ) Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;

a stranger, and not your own lips.

3 (Pr 17:12) A stone is heavy and the sand weighty,

but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.

4 (Pr 6:34; 1Jn 3:12) Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous,

but who is able to stand before envy?

5 (Pr 28:23; Gal 2:14) Open rebuke is better

than secret love.

6 (Ps 141:5) Faithful are the wounds of a friend,

but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

7 The full soul loathes a honeycomb,

but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

8 (Isa 16:2) As a bird that wanders from her nest,

so is a man who wanders from his place.

9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart,

so does the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

10 (1Ki 12:6-8; Pr 17:17) Do not forsake your own friend

or your father's friend,

nor go into your brother's house in the day of your calamity;

for better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far off.

11 (Pr 10:1; Ps 119:42) My son, be wise, and make my heart glad,

that I may answer him who reproachesme.

12 (Pr 22:3) A prudent man foresees the evil and hides himself,

but the simple pass on and are punished.

13 (Pr 20:16) Take his garment that is security for a stranger,

and take a pledge of him for an adulterous woman.

14 He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning,

it will be counted a curse to him.

15 (Pr 19:13; 21:9) A continual dripping on a very rainy day

and a contentious woman are alike;

16 whoever restrains her restrains the wind,

and grasps oil in his right hand.

17 Iron sharpens iron,

so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

18 (1Co 9:7; SS 8:12) Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit;

so he who waits on his master will be honored.

19 As in water face answers to face,

so the heart of man to man.

20 (Pr 30:15-16; Ecc 1:8) Death and destruction are never full;

so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

21 (Pr 17:3) As the refining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold,

so is a man to his praise.

22 (Pr 23:35; Jer 5:3) Though you should grind a fool in a mortar

among wheat with a pestle,

yet his foolishness will not depart from him.

23 (1Pe 5:2) Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,

and look well to your herds;

24 (Pr 23:5) for riches are not forever,

nor does the crown endure to every generation.

25 The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself,

and herbs of the mountains are gathered.

26 The lambs are for your clothing,

and the goats are the price of the field.

27 You will have goats' milk enough

for your food, for the food of your household,

and for the maintenance of your maidens.

[1] Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may

bring forth.

[2] Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and

not thine own lips.

[3] A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier

than them both.

[4] Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before

envy?

[5] Open rebuke is better than secret love.

[6] Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are

deceitful.

[7] The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter

thing is sweet.

[8] As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from

his place.

[9] Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's

friend by hearty counsel.

[10] Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into

thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour

that is near than a brother far off.

[11] My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that

reproacheth me.

[12] A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple

pass on, and are punished.

[13] Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of

him for a strange woman.

[14] He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the

morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

[15] A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are

alike.

[16] Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right

hand, which bewrayeth itself.

[17] Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

[18] Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that

waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

[19] As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

[20] Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never

satisfied.

[21] As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to

his praise.

[22] Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a

pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

[23] Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy

herds.

[24] For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every

generation?

[25] The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of

the mountains are gathered.

[26] The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.

[27] And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of

thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

20 (Pr 26:12; Jas 1:19) Do you see a man who is hasty in his words?

There is more hope for a fool than for him.

21 He who delicately brings up his servant from a child

will have him as a son in the end.

22 (Pr 15:18; 17:19; 26:21) An angry man stirs up strife,

and a furious man abounds in transgression.

23 (Pr 15:33; Mt 23:12) A man's pride will bring him low,

but honor will uphold the humble in spirit.

24 (Lev 5:1; Pr 8:36) Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own soul;

he hears the oath but tells nothing.

25 (Ge 20:2; 20:11 )The fear of man brings a snare,

but whoever puts his trust in the Lord will be safe.

26 (Pr 19:6; Ps 20:9) Many seek the ruler's favor,

but every man's judgment comes from the Lord.

27 (Ps 139:21; 1Jn 3:13) An unjust man is an abomination to the just,

and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

Proverbs 29

[1] He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be

destroyed, and that without remedy.

[2] When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the

wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

[3] Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company

with harlots spendeth his substance.

[4] The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts

overthroweth it.

[5] A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

[6] In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous

doth sing and rejoice.

[7] The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked

regardeth not to know it.

[8] Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

[9] If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh,

there is no rest.

[10] The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

[11] A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till

afterwards.

[12] If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

[13] The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both

their eyes.

[14] The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be

established for ever.

[15] The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth

his mother to shame.

[16] When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the

righteous shall see their fall.

[17] Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give

delight unto thy soul.

[18] Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the

law, happy is he.

[19] A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he

will not answer.

[20] Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a

fool than of him.

[21] He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him

become his son at the length.

[22] An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in

transgression.

[23] A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble

in spirit.

[24] Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing,

and bewrayeth it not.

[25] The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the

LORD shall be safe.

[26] Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the

LORD.

[27] An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in

the way is abomination to the wicked.

Giving God My Work

Colossians 3:22-25

22 (Col 3:20) Servants, obey your masters in all things according

to the flesh, serving not only when they are watching, as the servants

of men, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

23 (Col 3:17) And whatever you do, do it heartily,

as for the Lord and not for men,

24 (1Co 7:22; Eph 6:8) knowing that from the Lord you will receive

the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

25 (Ac 10:34; Dt 10:17) But he who does wrong will receive

for the wrong which he has done, and there is no partiality.

[22] Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not

with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

[23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

[24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the

inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

[25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done:

and there is no respect of persons.

The magazine I was writing for felt "important," so I struggled to present the

best possible article I could for the high-ranking editor. Feeling pressure

to meet her standards, I kept rewriting my thoughts and ideas. But what was

my problem? Was it my challenging topic? Or was my real worry personal:

Would the editor approve of me and not just my words?

For answers to our job worries, Paul gives trustworthy instruction. In a

letter to the Colossian church, Paul urged believers to work not for approval

of people, but for God. As the apostle said, "Whatever you do, work at it with

all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know

that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.

It is the Lord Christ you are serving" (Colossians 3:23-24).

Reflecting on Paul's wisdom, we can stop struggling to look good in the eyes

of our earthly bosses. For certain, we honor them as people and seek to give

them our best. But if we work "as for the Lord"-asking Him to lead and anoint

our work for Him-He'll shine a light on our efforts. Our reward? Our job

pressures ease and our assignments are completed.

Even more, we’ll one day hear Him say, "Well done!"

Reflect & Pray

On your job, what pressures do you feel to please others or yourself?

In what ways would your work improve on every level if you started

working "as for the Lord"?

Heavenly Father, as I face job pressures, it's easy to forget

that I'm working for You. Redirect my heart and mind, so I put You first

in all I do.

3) Daily verses taken from Billy Graham Evangelical Organisation

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 1 Knowing God's Word Day 5 - Learning by Heart

Ps 119:9,11

9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) How shall a young man keep his way pure?

By keeping it according to Your word.

11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Your word I have hidden in my heart,

that I might not sin against You.

9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?

By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

That I might not sin against thee.

"His heart is not just in it," a gifted musician commented about the

pianist onstage. "He's here at the Orchestra Hall, playing for

thousands of people, an his technique is flawless, but something

is missing - his heart is just not in it."

The psalmist , in Psalm 119, draws a similar parallel. We "Keep our

way pure" through obedience of his Word, by ordering our lives according

to the commands of the Scriptures. But outward behaviour is not the only

essential factor in purity of life. The changes in our behaviour need to

come from the heart, from the inside out. Our "technique" for living

the Christian life may be flawless, but our obediance is founded

in heart motivation, something is certainly missing.

"I seek you with all my heart," the psalmist declares in verse 10.

Thus he can say in verse 11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart,

that I might not sin against You."

Often we refer to memorisation as "learning by heart" - and indeed

"by heart" is the biblical mandate for assimilating God's truth

into our daily lives. "By rote" or "By Mind" leaves us

intellectually overstuffed, yet spiritually starving.

When we try to apply the Word outwardly to our behaviour,

we end up in a tangle of legalism, a log "do list" by which

we hope to please God. But when we set our hearts toward God first,

then changes in our behaviour grow out of love for God and a deep

desire to serve him. Then we are truly loving and obeying God with

our whole hearts.

Application

a) In what ways have I tried to apply God's word to my behaviour

without having the truth firmly in my heart? What was the result?

b) How can I set my heart toward God and give myself more fully

to his Word?

c) What areas of my life need "purifying"? How can these verses

help me to "make my way pure"?

4) Prosperity verses from Kenneth Copeland

Isaiah 1:19

19 (Dt 30:15-16) If you are willing and obedient,

you shall eat the good of the land;

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

When you are Discouraged or Depressed

Psalm 13

For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.

1 How long, O Lord? Will You forget me for good?

How long will you hide Your face from me?

2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) How long will I harbour cares in my soul

and sorrow in my heart by day?

How long will my enemy loom over me?

3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Take note and answer me, O Lord my God!

Brighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,

4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) lest my enemy say, 'I have him,'

lest my foes exult when I stumble.

5(Ps 42:11; 43:5) I for my part confide in Your kindness;

may my heart exult in Your salvation!

6(2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9 ) I will sing to the Lord,

because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 13

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever?

How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily?

How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God:

Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him;

And those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy;

My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2022 edition?)

Quebec

Quick facts on Muslims in Quebec

Quebec 2015 population 8214 000

est Muslim Population 418946

CNMM Networks: Montreal

There is a growing Muslim population in Quebec City and a smattering

of Muslims scattered around the rest of the province, yet the vast majority

of Muslims live in the greater Montreal area. n fact, 23% of Canada's Muslim

population live in Quebec. Why is that? It is largely because Francophone

African Muslims are attracted to La Belle Provence.

And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more

Muslims in Montreal than there are evangelical Christians.

This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches

and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small

by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that

is often either indifferent to religion or resistant to it. And now

this 'new' religious community of Muslims - many of whom do not visibly

or socially conform to Quebec society - are a growing population. It might br

easy for Christians to feel overwhelm by this cultural double-whammy,

yet God has always worked miracles through the small, the few.

Agree in prayer for :

- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel

- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding

-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting

together for worship!

- For pastors and believers to be full of passion, faith and vision for

reaching Muslims in Quebec.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

And

Thank you for praying through the

5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,

I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to

cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians

and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the

love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.

One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by

light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.

As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and

confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution

to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.

Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.

Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father

to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.

I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.

God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through

the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom

and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."

13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy

and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,

through the power of the Holy Spirit.

[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that

ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
