1) Proverbs 17-19
Proverbs 17
1 (Pr 15:17) Better is a dry morsel with quietness
than a house full of sacrifices with strife.
2 (Pr 10:5; 19:26) A wise servant will have rule over a son who causes shame,
and will have part of the inheritance among the brothers.
3 (Ps 26:2; Pr 27:21) The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold,
but the Lord tries the hearts.
4 A wicked doer gives heed to false lips,
and a liar gives ear to a wayward tongue.
5 (Job 31:29; Pr 14:31) Whoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker,
and he who is glad at calamities will not be unpunished.
6 Grandchildren are the crown of old men,
and the glory of children are their fathers.
7 Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool,
much less lying lips to a prince.

Proverbs 18
1 (Jude 1:19) He who separates himself seeks his own desire;
he seeks and quarrels against all wisdom.
2 A fool has no delight in understanding,
but in expressing his own heart.
3 When the wicked comes, then comes also contempt,
and with dishonor reproach.
4 (Pr 20:5) The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters,
and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
5 (Lev 19:15; Pr 24:23) It is not good to favor the wicked,
or to turn aside the righteous in judgment.
6 A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calls for flogging.

and he who speaks lies will not escape.

and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.

and let not your soul spare for his crying.

for if you deliver him, yet you must do it again.
20 (Ps 37:37) Hear counsel and receive instruction,
that you may be wise in your latter days.
21 (Ps 33:10-11; Pr 16:9) There are many plans in a man's heart,
nevertheless the counsel of the Lord will stand.
22 The desire of a man is his kindness,

2 Corinthians 5:11-19
The Ministry of Reconciliation
11 (Heb 10:31; Jude 1:23) Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord,
we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust we are also
revealed in your consciences.
12 (2Co 1:14; 3:1) For we are not commending ourselves again to you.
Instead, we give you occasion to boast on our behalf, that you may
have something to answer those who boast in appearance and not in heart.
13 (2Co 11:1; 11:16-17) If we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are
in our right mind, it is for you.
14 (Ro 5:15) For the love of Christ constrains us, because we thus judge:
that if one died for all, then all have died.
15 (Ro 14:7-9) And He died for all, that those who live should not from
now on live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
16 (Php 3:7-8) So from now on we do not regard anyone according to the flesh.
Yes, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet we do not
regard Him as such from now on.

Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
[19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation.
Tucked into a remote gorge in western Slovenia, a secret medical facility
(Franja Partisan Hospital) housed an extensive staff that tended to thousands
of wounded soldiers during World War II-all the while staying hidden from the
Nazis. Though avoiding detection from numerous Nazi attempts to locate the
facility is in itself a remarkable feat, even more remarkable is that the
hospital (founded and run by the Slovenia resistance movement) cared for
soldiers from both the Allied and Axis armies. The hospital welcomed everyone.
Scripture calls us to help the whole world to be spiritually healed. This
means we need to have compassion for all-regardless of their views. Everyone,
no matter their ideology, deserves Christ's love and kindness. Paul insists
that Jesus' all-embracing love "constrains us, because we thus judge:
that if one died for all, ..." (2 Corinthians 5:14). All of us suffer the
sickness of sin. All of us are in desperate need of the healing of Jesus'
forgiveness. And He's moved toward all of us in order to heal us.
Then, in a surprising move, God entrusted us with "the message of
reconciliation" (v. 19). God invites us to tend to wounded and broken people
(like us). We participate in healing work where the sick are made healthy
through union with Him. And this reconciliation, this healing,
is for all who will receive it.

God, I need healing. And so it shouldn't surprise me
that everyone else needs healing too.

On her wedding day, the bride dresses carefully for the ceremony
that is about to take place. Never before has she spent so much
time in preparation for one relatively brief event. When she
looks in the mirror and rejoices in her happiness, she responds not
out of vanity, but for sheer joy as she anticipates the coming ceremony.
God wants his people, lie that bride to be joyful, to rejoice in the Lord,
the Bridegroom. And he gives, through his grace,
the garments of joy to his beloved ones.
He clothes us, Isaiah says, with salvation, and covers us with
the robe of righteousness. The wardrobe that God provides is not merely
a utility garment, a coverall that hides our sin from his eyes.
It is his own righteousness in Christ, given to us as a free gift, so that
we might be united with him. And God himself, Isaiah says,
is filled with joy, adorning himself like a bridegroom.
When we truly see God's immeasurable gift in accepting us as him own,
we also will "greatly rejoice" in the Lord. He, the eternal god,
Creator of the universe, desires to be united with us, as a husband
desires his wife! God does not simply accept us grudgingly,
reminding us of our unworthiness to be with him. Rather, he celebrates
with unrestrained joy his oneness in Spirit with those he calls his own.
And we, having been fully forgiven
and set free from sin, can rejoice unashamedly as well.

the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust we are also

Tucked into a remote gorge in western Slovenia, a secret medical facility
(Franja Partisan Hospital) housed an extensive staff that tended to thousands
of wounded soldiers during World War II-all the while staying hidden from the
Nazis. Though avoiding detection from numerous Nazi attempts to locate the
facility is in itself a remarkable feat, even more remarkable is that the
hospital (founded and run by the Slovenia resistance movement) cared for
soldiers from both the Allied and Axis armies. The hospital welcomed everyone.
Scripture calls us to help the whole world to be spiritually healed. This
means we need to have compassion for all-regardless of their views. Everyone,
no matter their ideology, deserves Christ's love and kindness. Paul insists
that Jesus' all-embracing love "constrains us, because we thus judge:
that if one died for all, ..." (2 Corinthians 5:14). All of us suffer the
sickness of sin. All of us are in desperate need of the healing of Jesus'
forgiveness. And He's moved toward all of us in order to heal us.
Then, in a surprising move, God entrusted us with "the message of
reconciliation" (v. 19). God invites us to tend to wounded and broken people
(like us). We participate in healing work where the sick are made healthy
through union with Him. And this reconciliation, this healing,
is for all who will receive it.

and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

On her wedding day, the bride dresses carefully for the ceremony
that is about to take place. Never before has she spent so much
time in preparation for one relatively brief event. When she
looks in the mirror and rejoices in her happiness, she responds not
out of vanity, but for sheer joy as she anticipates the coming ceremony.
God wants his people, lie that bride to be joyful, to rejoice in the Lord,
the Bridegroom. And he gives, through his grace,
the garments of joy to his beloved ones.
He clothes us, Isaiah says, with salvation, and covers us with
the robe of righteousness. The wardrobe that God provides is not merely
a utility garment, a coverall that hides our sin from his eyes.
It is his own righteousness in Christ, given to us as a free gift, so that
we might be united with him. And God himself, Isaiah says,
is filled with joy, adorning himself like a bridegroom.
When we truly see God's immeasurable gift in accepting us as him own,
we also will "greatly rejoice" in the Lord. He, the eternal god,
Creator of the universe, desires to be united with us, as a husband
desires his wife! God does not simply accept us grudgingly,
reminding us of our unworthiness to be with him. Rather, he celebrates
with unrestrained joy his oneness in Spirit with those he calls his own.
And we, having been fully forgiven
and set free from sin, can rejoice unashamedly as well.

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.
