Psalms 75
For the Music Director. To the melody of "Do Not Destroy."
A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
1 We give thanks to You, O God;
we give thanks, and Your name is near;
Your wondrous works declare it.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) When I select an appointed time,
I will judge with equity.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Though the earth and all its inhabitants are swaying,
I steady its pillars. Selah
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I said to the boastful, "Do not boast,"
and to the wicked, "Do not lift up your horn.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with an arrogant neck."
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) For neither from the east nor west,
nor from the wilderness comes victory.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) But God is the judge;
He brings one low, and lifts up another.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup,
and it is full of mixed, foaming wine,
and He pours from it;
surely all the wicked of the earth will find and drink its dregs.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) But I will declare forever,
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.
Psalms 75
[1] Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for
that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
[2] When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
[3] The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the
pillars of it. Selah.
[4] I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not
up the horn:
[5] Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
[6] For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from
the south.
[7] But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
[8] For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is
full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all
the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
[9] But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Psalms 76

1 In Judah God is known;
in Israel His name is great.

and His dwelling place in Zion.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) There He broke the fiery arrows of the bow,
the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) You are more glorious and excellent
than the mountains of prey.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) The strong of heart have been plundered;
they have been put to sleep;
and none of the mighty men
could use their hands.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both the chariot and horse lay stunned.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) You, even You, are to be feared;
and who may stand in Your sight from the moment of Your anger?
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) From the heavens You gave their judgment,
and the earth feared and was silent,
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) when God arose to judgment,
to save all the meek of the earth. Selah
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Surely the wrath of people shall bring You praise;
the remainder of wrath You shall put on.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Make your vows to the Lord your God, and fulfill them;
let all who surround Him
bring tribute to Him who is to be feared.
12 He reduces the spirit of princes,
and is feared among the kings of the earth.
Psalms 76
[1] In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
[2] In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
[3] There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the
battle. Selah.
[4] Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
[5] The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of
the men of might have found their hands.
[6] At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into
a dead sleep.
[7] Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when
once thou art angry?
[8] Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and
was still,
[9] When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
[10] Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt
thou restrain.
[11] Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him
bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
[12] He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of
the earth.

For the Music Director. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.
1 I cried out to God with my voice,
even to God with my voice; and He listened to me.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
in the night my hand is stretched out and does not weary,
my soul refuses to be comforted.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) I remember God, and I groan;
I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) You hold my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) I have considered the days of old,
the years long ago.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) May I remember my song in the night;
may I meditate in my heart;
my spirit made a diligent search:
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) "Will the Lord cast off forever,
and will He be favorable no more?
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Has His mercy ceased forever,
and have His promises failed for all time?
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Has God forgotten to be gracious,
and has He in anger shut up His tender mercies?" Selah
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Then I said, "This is my grief;
yet I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High."
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) I will remember the works of the Lord;
surely I will remember Your wonders of old.

what god is as great as our God?

Psalms 77

PSALMS 78
A Contemplative Maskil of Asaph.
1 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter insightful sayings of old,
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) which we have heard and known,
what our fathers have told us.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 )We will not hide them from their children,
but will tell the coming generation
the praises of the Lord,
and His strength, and the wonderful works that He has done.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) For He established a rule in Jacob,
and appointed a law in Israel,
which He commanded our fathers
that they should make them known to their children,
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) that the generation to come might know them,
even the children who are not yet born,
who will arise and declare them to their children:
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) that they might set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God,
but keep His commandments,
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) and they might not be as their fathers,
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation that did not set their heart steadfast,
and whose spirit was not faithful to God.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) The people of Ephraim, being armed with bows,
turned back in the day of battle.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) They did not keep the covenant of God
and refused to walk in His law;
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) and they forgot His works
and the wonders that He had shown them.
12 In the sight of their ancestors He did marvelous wonders
in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13 He divided the sea and caused them to pass through,
and He made the waters to stand as a heap.
14 In the daytime He led them with a cloud,
and all the night with a light of fire.
15 He split rocks in the wilderness
and gave them abundance to drink as out of the great depths.
16 He brought streams out of the rock
and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17 They sinned yet more against Him
by provoking the Most High in the wilderness.
18 They tested God in their heart
by demanding the food that they craved.
19 They spoke against God by saying,
"Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
20 Behold, He struck the rock, so that the waters gushed out
and the streams overflowed.
Can He give bread
or provide meat for His people?"
21 Therefore the Lord heard this and was full of wrath;
a fire was kindled against Jacob,
and anger also came up against Israel,
22 because they did not believe in God
nor trust in His deliverance.
23 Yet He had commanded the skies above
and opened the doors of heaven,
24 and He rained down manna upon them to eat
and gave them the grain of heaven.
25 Man ate the food of mighty angels;
He sent them bread in abundance.
26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens,
and by His power He brought out a south wind.
27 He rained meat on them as dust,
and winged birds as the sand of the sea;
28 and He let them fall in the midst of their camp
all around their habitations.
29 So they ate and were satisfied,
for He gave them their own desire;
30 while they were not yet filled up,
and while the meat was still in their mouths,
31 the wrath of God came upon them,
and He killed the strongest of them
and struck down the young men of Israel.
32 For all this they sinned still,
and did not believe despite His wondrous works.
33 Therefore He made their days vanish like a breath,
and their years in trouble.
34 When He killed them, then they sought Him;
they turned back and longed for God.
35 They remembered that God was their rock,
and the Most High God their redeemer.
36 Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth,
and they lied to Him with their tongues;
37 for their heart was not devoted to Him,
neither were they committed to His covenant.
38 But He being full of compassion
forgave their iniquity
and did not destroy them.
He constantly restrained His anger,
and did not stir up all His wrath;
39 for He remembered that they were but flesh,
like a wind that passes away and does not return.
40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness
and grieved Him in the desert!
41 Yes, they tested God over and over,
and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42 They did not remember His power,
nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy,
43 how He had performed His signs in Egypt
and His wonders in the fields of Zoan:
44 and He turned their rivers into blood,
so that they could not drink from their streams.
45 He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them,
and frogs, which destroyed them.
46 He gave also their crops to the grasshopper
and the fruit of their labor to the locust.
47 He destroyed their vines with hail
and their sycamore trees with frost.
48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail
and their flocks to thunderbolts.
49 He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger,
wrath, indignation, and trouble,
by sending angels bringing disaster.
50 He made a path for His anger;
He did not spare them from death,
but gave their lives over to the plague,
51 And struck down all the firstborn in Egypt,
the first fruits of their strength in the tents of Ham.
52 Then He led out His own people like sheep
and guided them in the wilderness like a flock;
53 He led them in safety, so that they were not afraid,
but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54 He brought them to the border of His holy land,
to the mountain that His right hand had acquired.
55 He cast out the nations also before them,
and divided for them their tribal allotments,
and made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.
56 Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God,
and did not keep His commands,
57 but turned back and acted unfaithfully like their fathers;
they turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58 For they provoked Him to anger with their high places
and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.
59 When God heard this, He was full of wrath
and greatly rejected Israel
60 so that He left the tabernacle at Shiloh,
the tent where He lived among people,
61 and delivered His strength to captivity
and His glory into the enemy's hand.
62 He gave His people over also to the sword;
He was enraged with His inheritance.
63 The fire consumed their young men,
and their maidens were not given to marriage in song.
64 Their priests fell by the sword,
and their widows made no lamentation.
65 Then the Lord awoke as one out of sleep,
and like a mighty man who shouts because of wine.
66 He routed His enemies back,
and He made them a perpetual reproach.
67 Moreover, He rejected the tent of Joseph,
and He did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68 but chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount Zion which He loves.
69 He built His sanctuary like the high heavens,
like the earth that He has established perpetually.
70 He chose David His servant
and took him from the sheepfolds;
71 from following the nursing ewes He brought him
to shepherd Jacob His people,
and Israel His inheritance.
72 So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart
and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

[33] Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in
trouble.
[34] When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired
early after God.
[35] And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their
redeemer.
[36] Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto
him with their tongues.
[37] For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in
his covenant.
[38] But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed
them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all
his wrath.
[39] For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away,
and cometh not again.
[40] How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the
desert!
[41] Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of
Israel.

the enemy.

thunderbolts.
[49] He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation,
and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
[50] He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but
gave their life over to the pestilence;
[51] And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in
the tabernacles of Ham:
[52] But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the
wilderness like a flock.

[54] And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this
mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

Ephesians 6:10-20
The Battle Against Evil
10 (Eph 1:19; 1Co 16:13) Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord
and in the power of His might.
11 (Eph 6:13; Ro 13:12; Eph 4:14) Put on the whole armour of God that
you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 (Eph 1:3; 1:2) 1For our fight is not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly places.
13 (Eph 5:16) Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be
able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 (Isa 11:5; 59:17) Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 (Isa 52:7; Ro 10:15) having your feet fitted with the readiness
of the gospel of peace, 16and above all, taking the shield of faith,
with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows
of the evil one.
17 (Heb 4:12; Isa 49:2; 59:17) Take the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 (Col 4:2; 1Ti 2:1; Eph 1:16) Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds
of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance
and supplication for all the saints.

spiritual wickedness in high places.

withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and
watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
[19] And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my
mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
[20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly,
as I ought to speak.
In 1896, an explorer named Carl Akeley found himself in a remote section
of Ethiopia, chased by an eighty-pound leopard. He remembered the leopard
pouncing, trying "to sink her teeth into my throat." She missed, snagging his
right arm with her vicious jaws. The two rolled in the sand-a long, fierce
struggle. Akeley weakened, and "it became a question of who would give up
first." Summoning his last bit of strength, Akeley was able to suffocate the
big cat with his bare hands.
The apostle Paul explained how each of us who believe in Jesus will inevitably
encounter our own fierce struggles, those places where we feel overwhelmed and
are tempted to surrender. Instead, we must take our "stand against the devil's
schemes" and "stand firm" (Ephesians 6:11, 14). Rather than cower in fear or
crumble as we recognize our weakness and vulnerability, Paul challenged us to
step forward in faith, remembering that we don't rely on our own courage and
strength but on God. "Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power," he wrote
(v. 10). In the challenges we face, He's only a prayer away (v. 18).
Yes, we have many struggles, and we'll never escape them by our own power
or ingenuity. But God is more powerful than any enemy or evil we'll ever face.

For many who have grown up in homes where the father was absent, or when
present, abusive or silent, the scenario of Jimmy and his father may
seem unrealistic. Often we aren't given the right by our parents to ask
what we want, to communicate openly, to express our needs and desires.
But god clearly indicates that no matter what our human families have been
like, in his family there are no barriers to belonging,
to open communications. When we commit our lives to Christ and submit to his
lordship, we have the right to become the sons and daughters of God.
In Christ, we have the right to approach him, to pray, to seek wisdom,
to ask advice, to make requests, to verbalise our needs and desires. We don't
have to be afraid of sounding stupid or being rejected, because in Christ
we belong to him, and he loves us.
The KJV uses the word "power" in verse 12 - "to them gave he power to become
the sons of God." Power implies ability, that we are equipped by the Spirit
to be children of the King. We have the right and we have the power to become
who God has called us to be - his children.

Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.

- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising

- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

In 1896, an explorer named Carl Akeley found himself in a remote section
of Ethiopia, chased by an eighty-pound leopard. He remembered the leopard
pouncing, trying "to sink her teeth into my throat." She missed, snagging his
right arm with her vicious jaws. The two rolled in the sand-a long, fierce
struggle. Akeley weakened, and "it became a question of who would give up
first." Summoning his last bit of strength, Akeley was able to suffocate the
big cat with his bare hands.
The apostle Paul explained how each of us who believe in Jesus will inevitably
encounter our own fierce struggles, those places where we feel overwhelmed and
are tempted to surrender. Instead, we must take our "stand against the devil's
schemes" and "stand firm" (Ephesians 6:11, 14). Rather than cower in fear or
crumble as we recognize our weakness and vulnerability, Paul challenged us to
step forward in faith, remembering that we don't rely on our own courage and
strength but on God. "Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power," he wrote
(v. 10). In the challenges we face, He's only a prayer away (v. 18).
Yes, we have many struggles, and we'll never escape them by our own power
or ingenuity. But God is more powerful than any enemy or evil we'll ever face.

For many who have grown up in homes where the father was absent, or when
present, abusive or silent, the scenario of Jimmy and his father may
seem unrealistic. Often we aren't given the right by our parents to ask
what we want, to communicate openly, to express our needs and desires.
But god clearly indicates that no matter what our human families have been
like, in his family there are no barriers to belonging,
to open communications. When we commit our lives to Christ and submit to his
lordship, we have the right to become the sons and daughters of God.
In Christ, we have the right to approach him, to pray, to seek wisdom,
to ask advice, to make requests, to verbalise our needs and desires. We don't
have to be afraid of sounding stupid or being rejected, because in Christ
we belong to him, and he loves us.
The KJV uses the word "power" in verse 12 - "to them gave he power to become
the sons of God." Power implies ability, that we are equipped by the Spirit
to be children of the King. We have the right and we have the power to become
who God has called us to be - his children.

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

Agree in prayer for Ontario:
- get network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
Pray continually for Sikhs to find Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Pray that God will convict the hearts of Canadians of the false
idea that all moral choices are equal and without consequences
Pray that people's hearts would be opened to see the folly
of denying God's supremacy
Pray that the Lord will soften the hearts of governing leaders
in Somalia towards Christians.
