Day 57 of the 2nd Bible Study Journey - 26 Feb 2022 reflections
Day 57, 26 Feb 2022
1) Numbers 4-5
NUMBERS 4
Duties of the Kohathites
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:
2 Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi,
after their families, by the house of their fathers,
3 (Nu 4:23) from thirty years old and older, even to fifty years old,
all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tent of meeting.
4 (Nu 4:19) This will be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent
of meeting, concerning the holiest things.
5 (Mt 27:51; Heb 9:3) And when the camp sets out, Aaron will come,
and his sons, and they will take down the covering curtain,
and cover the ark of the testimony with it,
6 (Ex 25:13-15) and will put on it the covering of porpoise skins,
and will spread over it a cloth completely of blue, and will put in its poles.
7 (Lev 24:5-8) Upon the table of showbread they will spread a cloth of blue,
and put the dishes on it, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover
it, and the showbread will be on it.
8 And they will spread on them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with
a covering of porpoise skins, and will put in its poles.
9 (Ex 25:31-39) They will take a cloth of blue, and cover the lampstand
of the light, and its lamps, and its tongs, and its snuff dishes,
and all its oil vessels, with which they minister to it.
10 And they will put it and all its vessels within
a covering of porpoise skins and will put it on a carrying pole.
11 Upon the golden altar they will spread a cloth of blue,
and cover it with a covering of porpoise skins, and will put in its poles.
12 (1Ch 9:29) And they will take all the instruments of ministry,
with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue,
and cover them with a covering of porpoise skins, and will put
them on a carrying pole.
13 And they will take away the ashes from the altar
and spread a purple cloth on it.
14 They shall put on it all the instruments with which they minister there,
the censers, the flesh hooks, the shovels, the basins, all the utensils
of the altar. And they will spread on it a covering of porpoise skins
and insert its poles.
15 (2Sa 6:6-7; Nu 7:9) When Aaron and his sons have finished covering
the sanctuary, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, as the camp
is to set out, after that, the sons of Kohath will come to carry it.
But they will not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things
are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.
16 (Ex 25:6; Lev 24:2) To the office of Eleazar, Aaron the priest's son,
pertains the oil for the light, and the sweet incense,
and the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil,
and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that is in it,
in the sanctuary, and in the instruments thereof.
17 The Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:
18 Do not cut the tribe of the families of the Kohathites
from among the Levites.
19 But do this to them, that they may live and not die, when they approach
the most holy things. Aaron and his sons will go in, and appoint each one
to his service and to his burden.
20 (Ex 19:21; 1Sa 6:19) But they will not go in to see when the holy things
are covered, lest they die.
Duties of the Gershonites
21 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
22 Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses
of their fathers, by their families.
23 (Nu 4:3) From thirty years old and older to fifty years old
you will number them, all that enter in to perform the service,
to do the work in the tent of meeting.
24This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve,
and to work.
25 (Ex 26:14; Nu 3:25-26) And they will carry the curtains
of the tabernacle, and the tent of meeting, its covering,
and the covering of the porpoise skins that is on it,
and the hanging for the door of the tent of meeting,
26 and the hangings of the courtyard,
and the hanging for the opening of the gate of the courtyard,
which is by the tabernacle and by the altar all around,
and their cords, and all the instruments of their service,
and all that is made for them. So they will serve.
27 At the appointment of Aaron and his sons will be all
the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens,
and in all their service. And you shall assign to them all their tasks as their duty.
28 (Nu 4:33) This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon
in the tent of meeting. And their charge will be under the hand of Ithamar
the son of Aaron the priest.
Duties of the Merarites
29 As for the sons of Merari, you will number them by their families,
by the house of their fathers.
30 (Nu 4:3; 4:23) From thirty years old and older, even to fifty years old,
you will number them, everyone who enters into the service, to do the work
of the tent of meeting.
31 (Nu 3:36-37) This is the charge of their burden, according to all their
service in the tent of meeting. The boards of the tabernacle, and its bars
thereof, and its pillars, and its sockets,
32 (Ex 38:21) and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets,
and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all
their service, and by name you will list the instruments of the charge of
their burden.
33 (Nu 4:28) This is the service of the families of the sons of
according to all their service, in the tent of meeting,
under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
Census of the Levites
34 Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of the congregation numbered
the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by the house of
their fathers,
35 (Nu 4:23; 1Ch 23:24) from thirty years old and older to fifty years old,
everyone who entered into the service, for the work in the tent of meeting.
36 And those who were numbered by their families were 2750.
37 These were the ones listed of the families of the Kohathites,
all who might do service in the tent of meeting, which Moses and Aaron
numbered according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
38 Those who were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families,
and by the house of their fathers,
39 from thirty years old and older to fifty years old, everyone who entered
into the service, for the work in the tent of meeting,
40 even those who were numbered of them, throughout their families,
by the house of their fathers, were two thousand six hundred and thirty.
41 These were the ones listed by the families of the sons of Gershon,
of all who might do service in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron
numbered according to the commandment of the Lord.
42 Those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari,
throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,
43 from thirty years old and older to fifty years old, everyone who entered
into the service, for the work in the tent of meeting,
44 even those who were numbered by their families, were 3200.
45 These were the ones listed of the families of the sons of Merari,
whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word
of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
46 All those who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses, Aaron,
and the leaders of Israel numbered, by their families, and by the
house of their fathers,
47 (Nu 4:3) from thirty years old and older to fifty years old,
everyone who came to do the service of the ministry, and the service
of the work in the tent of meeting,
48 (Nu 3:39) even those who were numbered were 8580.
49 (Nu 4:15; 4:21) According to the commandment of the Lord
they were numbered by the hand of Moses,
each according to his service, and according to his burden.
Thus they were numbered by him, as the Lord commanded Moses.
Numbers 4
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
[2] Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,
[3] From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that
enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
[4] This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the
congregation, about the most holy things:
[5] And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and
they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with
it:
[6] And shall put thereon the covering of badgers' skins, and shall spread
over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.
[7] And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and
put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover
withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:
[8] And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same
with a covering of badgers' skins, and shall put in the staves thereof.
[9] And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the
light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil
vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it:
[10] And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of
badgers' skins, and shall put it upon a bar.
[11] And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover
it with a covering of badgers' skins, and shall put to the staves thereof:
[12] And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they
minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them
with a covering of badgers' skins, and shall put them on a bar:
[13] And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple
cloth thereon:
[14] And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they
minister about it, even the censers, the fleshhooks, and the shovels, and
the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a
covering of badgers' skins, and put to the staves of it.
[15] And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary,
and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after
that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any
holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath
in the tabernacle of the congregation.
[16] And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the
oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and
the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that
therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
[17] And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
[18] Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among
the Levites:
[19] But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they
approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and
appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
[20] But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest
they die.
[21] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[22] Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of
their fathers, by their families;
[23] From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou
number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the
tabernacle of the congregation.
[24] This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and
for burdens:
[25] And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle
of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers' skins
that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation,
[26] And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate
of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and
their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made
for them: so shall they serve.
[27] At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of
the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service:
and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.
[28] This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the
tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of
Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
[29] As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families,
by the house of their fathers;
[30] From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou
number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the
tabernacle of the congregation.
[31] And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service
in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the
bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,
[32] And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their
pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their
service: and by name ye shall reckon the instruments of the charge of their
burden.
[33] This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to
all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of
Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
[34] And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons
of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their
fathers,
[35] From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one
that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the
congregation:
[36] And those that were numbered of them by their families were two
thousand seven hundred and fifty.
[37] These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites,
all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses
and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of
Moses.
[38] And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their
families, and by the house of their fathers,
[39] From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one
that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the
congregation,
[40] Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their families, by
the house of their fathers, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.
[41] These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of
Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation,
whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
[42] And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari,
throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,
[43] From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one
that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the
congregation,
[44] Even those that were numbered of them after their families, were three
thousand and two hundred.
[45] These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of
Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by
the hand of Moses.
[46] All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and
the chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of
their fathers,
[47] From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one
that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden
in the tabernacle of the congregation,
[48] Even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five
hundred and fourscore.
[49] According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered by the hand
of Moses, every one according to his service, and according to his burden:
thus were they numbered of him, as the LORD commanded Moses.

NUMBERS 5
The Unclean
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 (Lev 13:46; 21:1) Command the children of Israel that they put out
of the camp every leper, and everyone who has a discharge, and whoever
is defiled by the dead.
3 (Lev 26:11-12; Dt 23:14) Both male and female you will put out.
You will put them outside the camp, so they do not defile their
camps in the midst of which I dwell.
4 The children of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp.
As the Lord spoke to Moses, so the children of Israel did.
Restitution for Wrongs
5 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 Tell the children of Israel: When a man or woman commits
any sin against another, acting unfaithfully against the Lord,
that person is guilty,
7 (Lev 5:5; 26:40; Jos 7:19) and shall confess his sin which
he has committed, and he will repay his offense with its principal,
and add to it one-fifth, and give it to him who was wronged.
8 (Lev 6:6-7; 7:7) But if the man has no relative to repay the offense to,
let the offense be repaid to the Lord, even to the priest, beside the ram
of the atonement, whereby an atonement will be made for him.
9 (Ex 29:28; Lev 6:17-18) Every offering of all the holy things
of the children of Israel, which they bring to the priest, will be his.
10 Every man's holy things will be his. Whatever any man gives the priest,
it will be his.
The Test for Adultery
11 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
12 (Nu 5:19-20) Speak to the children of Israel and say to them:
If any man's wife goes astray, and acts treacherously against him,
13 (Lev 18:20; 20:10) and a man lies with her carnally,
and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband,
and it is concealed though she has defiled herself,
and there is no witness against her, nor is she caught in the act,
14 (Pr 6:34; SS 8:6) and if the spirit of jealousy comes on him,
and he is jealous of his wife who has defiled herself, or if the spirit
of jealousy comes on him and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not
defiled herself,
15 (Eze 29:16; Lev 5:11) then the man shall bring his wife to the priest
and he shall bring her offering for her, a tenth of an ephah
(Likely about 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms.) of barley flour.
He shall pour no oil on it nor put frankincense on it,
for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrance,
bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 The priest will bring her near, and set her before the Lord.
17 And the priest will take holy water in an earthen vessel,
and the priest will take some of the dust that is on the floor
of the tabernacle and put it into the water.
18 And the priest will set the woman before the Lord,
and uncover the woman's head, and put the memorial offering in her hands,
which is the grain offering of jealousy, and the priest will have in his
hand the bitter water that causes the curse.
19 And the priest will charge her by an oath, and say to the woman,
"If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to
impurity with another instead of your husband,
be free from this bitter water that causes the curse.
20 But if you have gone astray to another instead of your husband,
and if you are defiled, and a man besides your husband has lain with you"-
21 (Jos 6:26; 1Sa 14:24) then the priest will charge the woman with
an oath of cursing, and the priest will say to the woman,
"The Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people,
when the Lord makes your thigh rot and your belly swell.
22 (Ps 109:18; Dt 27:15-26) And this water that causes
the curse will go into your bowels,
to make your belly swell and your thigh rot."
And the woman will say, "Amen, amen."
23 The priest will write these curses in a book,
and he will wash them out with the bitter water.
24 And he will cause the woman to drink the bitter water
that causes the curse. And the water that causes the curse
will enter into her and become bitter.
25 (Lev 8:27) Then the priest will take the grain offering
of jealousy out of the woman's hand and will wave the offering
before the Lord and offer it on the altar.
26 (Lev 2:2; 2:9) And the priest will take a handful of the offering,
the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, and afterward will
cause the woman to drink the water.
27 (Jer 29:18; 42:18) When he has made her to drink the water,
then it will be that, if she is defiled and has acted treacherously
against her husband, the water that causes the curse will enter into her,
and become bitter, and her belly will swell, and her thigh will rot,
and the woman will be a curse among her people.
28 If the woman is not defiled, but is clean,
then she will be free and will conceive offspring.
29 (Nu 5:19; 5:12) This is the law of jealousies,
when a wife goes astray to another instead of her husband,
and is defiled,
30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes on him,
and he is jealous over his wife,
and will set the woman before the Lord,
and the priest will perform on her all this law.
31 Then the man will be guiltless from iniquity,
and this woman will bear her iniquity.
Numbers 5
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every
leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the
dead:
[3] Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put
them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.
[4] And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as
the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
[5] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[6] Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any
sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be
guilty;
[7] Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall
recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the
fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
[8] But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the
trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of
the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
[9] And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel,
which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
[10] And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth
the priest, it shall be his.
[11] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[12] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife
go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
[13] And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her
husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness
against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
[14] And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his
wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he
be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
[15] Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring
her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall
pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of
jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
[16] And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
[17] And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the
dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put
it into the water:
[18] And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the
woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the
jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water
that causeth the curse:
[19] And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If
no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness
with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water
that causeth the curse:
[20] But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if
thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
[21] Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the
priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath
among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to
swell;
[22] And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make
thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen,
amen.
[23] And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot
them out with the bitter water:
[24] And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the
curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become
bitter.
[25] Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's
hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the
altar:
[26] And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial
thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to
drink the water.
[27] And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to
pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband,
that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become
bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman
shall be a curse among her people.
[28] And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free,
and shall conceive seed.
[29] This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another
instead of her husband, and is defiled;
[30] Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over
his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall
execute upon her all this law.
[31] Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall
bear her iniquity.

entitled Part of the Family
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 (Gal 6:10; Php 3:20) Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers
and foreigners, but are fellow citizens with the saints and members
of the household of God,
20 (Mt 16:18; Isa 28:16; Rev 21:14) having been built upon
the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself
being the chief cornerstone,
21 (1Co 3:16-17) in whom the entire building, tightly framed together,
grows into a holy temple in the Lord,
22 (1Co 3:16) in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling
place of God through the Spirit.
[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
[20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus
Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
[21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy
temple in the Lord:
[22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through
the Spirit.
Downton Abbey was a popular British television drama that followed the
fictional Crawley family as they navigated a changing social structure
in early 1900s England. One of the key characters, Tom Branson, initially
worked as the family's chauffeur before shocking everyone by marrying the
youngest Crawley daughter. Following a period of exile, the young couple
returned to Downton Abbey and Tom became part of the family, gaining access
to rights and privileges he had been denied as an employee.
We were once considered "foreigners and strangers" (Ephesians 2:19) and
excluded from the rights given to those who are part of God's family. But
because of Jesus, all believers, regardless of their background,
are reconciled to God and called “members of his household” (v. 19).
Being a member of God's family brings incredible rights and privileges.
We can "approach God with freedom and confidence" (3:12) and enjoy unlimited,
unhindered access to God. We become part of a larger family, a community of
faith to support and encourage us (2:19-22). Members of God’s family have the
privilege of helping each other grasp the enormity
of God's lavish love (3:18).
Fear or doubt could easily make us feel like an outsider, keeping us from
fully accessing the benefits of being part of God’s family. But hear and
embrace once more the reality of God's free and generous
gifts of love (2:8-10) and bask in the wonder of being His.

27 (Ge 49:24; Ps 90:1-2) The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath you are the everlasting arms;
He will drive out the enemy before you,
and will say, "Destroy them."
27 The eternal God is thy refuge,
And underneath are the everlasting arms:
And he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;
And shall say, Destroy them.
Misty was only 4 when her parents divorced. Her dad moved away,
and the following summer she went with her grandparents to visit him
in his new apartment. In the swimming pool one afternoon, Grandpa stood
Misty on the side of the pool, held out his arm, and called, "Jump!"
But Misty, normally a little fish, suddenly seemed afraid of the water,
and stood trembling on the sidewalk shaking her head.
"Jump, Misty - I'll catch you!"
"Are you sure, Grandpa?"
"Of course I'm sure! Jump!"
But Misty wouldn't jump. Finally Grandpa, a bit irritated, said, "Misty, do
you think I Won't catch you? Do you think I'll just walk away?"
The tears spilled over, and Misty sobbed. "Daddy did!"
Human support systems often fail us. We disappoint those we love, and
are disappointed by them. People simply aren't there for us
when we need them most.
But God promises that with him things are different. He's always there,
always listening, always caring, always ready to support us.
"Underneath his everlasting arms".
Sometimes those arms reach out clothed in flesh, in the warm embrace
of a loved one. Sometimes they support us through the Word, sometimes through
the quiet peace that comes in prayer. Sometimes we are not aware of them
at all, but they still hold us up, supporting, surrounding, loving.
Underneath us are the everlasting arms.
Application
a) Have I ever felt abandoned by someone I loved and depended upon?
b) How have I experienced the faithfulness of God's "Everlasting arms"?
c) Now can this verse help me in times when I feel my supports have given way?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Is 48:15,17
15 I, even I, have spoken,
and I have called him;
I have brought him,
and his way will prosper.
17 (Ps 32:8; Isa 43:14) Thus says the Lord,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you to profit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him:
I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;
I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit,
which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
God's Protection in Times of Trouble
Ps 91
PSALMS 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust."
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the hunter
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) He shall cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you shall find protection;
His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8–9) nor of the pestilence that pursues in darkness,
nor of the destruction that strikes at noonday.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) A thousand may fall at your side
and ten thousand at your right hand,
but it shall not come near you.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Only with your eyes shall you behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
even the Most High, your dwelling,
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) there shall be no evil befall you,
neither shall any plague come near your tent;
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) for He shall give His angels charge over you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 They shall bear you up in their hands,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder;
the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
and I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him My salvation.
Psalm 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

My God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
And from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:
His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;
But it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge,
Even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee,
Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
To keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands,
Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him,

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)
Alberta
Quick facts on Muslims in Alberta
Alberta 2015 population 4121700
est Muslim Population 195240
CNMM Networks: Calgary and Edmonton
It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their
not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.
- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim
in these growing Muslim population centres.

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020
Under the Keep Praying page
When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]
Footnotes
Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

29 As for the sons of Merari, you will number them by their families,
by the house of their fathers.

you will number them, everyone who enters into the service, to do the work
of the tent of meeting.

their service, and by name you will list the instruments of the charge of
their burden.

Thus they were numbered by him, as the Lord commanded Moses.

that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the
congregation:

[5] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[6] Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any
sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be
guilty;
[11] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[12] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife
go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
[13] And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her
husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness
against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
[21] Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the
priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath
among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to
swell;
[29] This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another
instead of her husband, and is defiled;

[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
[20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus
Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Week 7 Promises of Grace - Day 7 Support System
Deut 33:27
27 (Ge 49:24; Ps 90:1-2) The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath you are the everlasting arms;
He will drive out the enemy before you,
and will say, "Destroy them."
27 The eternal God is thy refuge,
And underneath are the everlasting arms:
And he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;

Is 48:15,17
15 I, even I, have spoken,
and I have called him;
I have brought him,

your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you to profit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him:
I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good
and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 for kings, and for all that are in authority;
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge
of the truth.
