Day 39, 8 Feb 2022

1)

Exodus 29-31

EXODUS 29

Consecration of the Priests

Lev 8:1-36

1 Now this is the thing that you shall do to them to consecrate them,

to minister as priests to Me:

Take one young bull and two rams without blemish,

2 (Nu 6:15) and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil,

and unleavened wafers anointed with oil - you shall make them of wheat flour.

3 You shall put them into one basket and bring them in the basket

with the bull and the two rams.

4 (Ex 40:12; Heb 10:22) Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door

of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.

5 You shall take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic

and the robe of the ephod and the ephod and the breastplate,

and gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod.

6 (Lev 8:9) And you shall put the turban on his head

and put the holy crown on the turban.

7 (Lev 21:10; Nu 35:25) Then shall you take the anointing oil

and pour it on his head and anoint him.

8 (Lev 8:13; Ex 28:40) You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.

9 (Nu 18:7; Lev 8:22-28) You shall gird them with sashes,

Aaron and his sons, and put the headbands on them,

and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute.

Thus you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.

10 (Lev 1:4; 8:14) Then you shall bring a bull before the tent of meeting,

and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull.

11 You shall kill the bull before the Lord

by the door of the tent of meeting.

12 (Ex 27:2; Lev 8:15) You shall take of the blood of the bull,

and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger,

and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.

13 (Lev 3:3-4) You shall take all the fat that covers the entrails,

and the lobe that is above the liver, and the two kidneys,

and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.

14 (Lev 4:11-12; 4:21) But the flesh of the bull, its skin,

and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp.

It is a sin offering.

15 (Ex 29:19) You shall also take one ram, and Aaron

and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.

16 You shall slay the ram, and you shall take its blood

and sprinkle it around on the altar.

17 Then you shall cut the ram in pieces,

and wash its entrails and its legs,

and put them with its pieces and its head.

18 (Ge 8:21) You shall burn the whole ram

on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord.

It is a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.

19 (Ex 29:3) Then you shall take the other ram,

and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands

on the head of the ram.

20 You shall kill the ram and take some of its blood

and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron,

and on the tip of the right ear of his sons,

and on the thumb of their right hand,

and on the great toe of their right foot,

and sprinkle the blood around on the altar.

21 (Ex 29:1; 29:7) You shall take some of the blood

that is on the altar and some of the anointing

oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments,

and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him.

So he and his garments shall be consecrated,

along with his sons and his sons' garments with him.

22 (Ex 29:13) Also you shall take the fat and the rump of the ram,

and the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe above the liver,

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them

and the right shoulder (for it is a ram of consecration),

23 (Ex 29:2-3) and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread,

and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread

that is before the Lord.

24 (Lev 7:30; 8:27) And you shall put all of these in the hands of Aaron

and in the hands of his sons, and shall wave them for a wave offering

before the Lord.

25 (Lev 8:28; Ex 29:41) Then you shall take them from their hands

and burn them on the altar for a burnt offering, for a soothing aroma

before the Lord. It is an offering made by fire to the Lord.

26 (Lev 8:29) You shall take the breast of Aaron's ram of consecration,

and wave it as a wave offering before the Lord,

and it shall be your portion.

27 (Lev 10:15; Nu 18:11) You shall consecrate the breast of the wave

offering that is waved and the thigh of the priest's portion

that is contributed from the ram of the consecration,

from that which was for Aaron and from that which was for his sons.

28 It shall be for Aaron and his sons by a statute forever,

for it is a contribution.

It shall be a contribution from the children of Israel

from their peace offerings, their contributions to the Lord.

29 (Nu 18:8) The holy garments belonging to Aaron are to belong

to his sons after him, so that they may be anointed in them

and be consecrated in them.

30 (Nu 20:28) The son that is priest in his stead shall put them

on seven days when he comes into the tent of meeting to

minister in the holy place.

31 (Lev 8:31) You shall take the ram of the consecration

and boil its flesh in a holy place.

32 (Mt 12:4) Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram

and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tent of meeting.

33 (Nu 18:4) They shall eat those things by which the atonement

was made in order to consecrate and sanctify them,

but no one else shall eat them, because they are holy.

34 (Ex 12:10; Lev 8:32) If any of the flesh from the consecrations

or from the bread remain until the morning,

then you shall burn the remainder with fire.

It shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

35 Thus shall you do to Aaron and his sons according to all that

I have commanded you. You shall consecrate them for seven days.

36 (Heb 10:11; Ex 30:26) Every day you must offer a bull as a sin

offering for atonement, and you must cleanse the altar when you

make atonement for it. You must anoint it to consecrate it.

37 (Ex 40:10; Mt 23:19) For seven days you must make atonement

for the altar and consecrate it, and then the altar will be most holy,

and whatever touches the altar will be holy.

The Daily Offerings

38 (Nu 28:3-8; 1Ch 16:40) Now this is what you are to offer on the altar:

two one-year-old lambs every day, continually.

39 (Eze 46:13-15; 2Ki 16:15) The one lamb you must offer in the morning,

and the other lamb you must offer at sundown.

40 (Lev 23:13) And with the first lamb will be a tenth of an ephah

(Likely about 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms. ) of flour mingled with

the fourth part of a hin (Likely about 1 quart, or 1 liter. )of beaten oil,

and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.

41 The other lamb you must offer at sundown and must offer with

it the same grain offering and the same drink offering as in the morning,

for a soothing aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.

42 (Ex 25:22) This will be a continual burnt offering throughout

your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the Lord,

where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.

43 (1Ki 8:11; Ex 40:34) I will meet there with the children of Israel,

and it will be consecrated by My glory.

44 (Lev 21:15; 22:9) I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar.

I will also sanctify both Aaron and his sons to minister as priests to Me.

45 (Ex 25:8; Lev 26:12) I will dwell among the children of Israel

and will be their God.

46 (Ex 20:2) Then they will know that I am the Lord their God who brought

them out of the land of Egypt, so that I may dwell among them.

I am the Lord their God.

Exodus 29

[1] And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to

minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two

rams without blemish,

[2] And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers

unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.

[3] And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket,

with the bullock and the two rams.

[4] And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle

of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water.

[5] And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the

robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the

curious girdle of the ephod:

[6] And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon

the mitre.

[7] Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and

anoint him.

[8] And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.

[9] And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the

bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual

statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.

[10] And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of

the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head

of the bullock.

[11] And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the

tabernacle of the congregation.

[12] And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the

horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom

of the altar.

[13] And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul

that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them,

and burn them upon the altar.

[14] But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou

burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.

[15] Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their

hands upon the head of the ram.

[16] And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and

sprinkle it round about upon the altar.

[17] And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and

his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.

[18] And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt

offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto

the LORD.

[19] And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put

their hands upon the head of the ram.

[20] Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon

the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his

sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of

their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

[21] And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the

anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon

his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be

hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

[22] Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that

covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and

the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of

consecration:

[23] And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out

of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the LORD:

[24] And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his

sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

[25] And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the

altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it is an

offering made by fire unto the LORD.

[26] And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration, and

wave it for a wave offering before the LORD: and it shall be thy part.

[27] And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the

shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of

the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that

which is for his sons:

[28] And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever from the

children of Israel: for it is an heave offering: and it shall be an heave

offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace

offerings, even their heave offering unto the LORD.

[29] And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be

anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

[30] And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days,

when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the

holy place.

[31] And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and seethe his flesh

in the holy place.

[32] And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread

that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

[33] And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to

consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof,

because they are holy.

[34] And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain

unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not

be eaten, because it is holy.

[35] And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all

things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.

[36] And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for

atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an

atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

[37] Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it;

and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be

holy.

[38] Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of

the first year day by day continually.

[39] The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou

shalt offer at even:

[40] And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth

part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a

drink offering.

[41] And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto

according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink

offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the

LORD.

[42] This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at

the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will

meet you, to speak there unto thee.

[43] And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle

shall be sanctified by my glory.

[44] And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar:

I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the

priest's office.

[45] And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

[46] And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them

forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD

their God.

EXODUS 30

The Altar of Incense

Ex 37:25-28

1 (Ex 37:25-28; Rev 8:3) Also, you must make an altar for burning incense.

You must make it of acacia wood.

2 (Ex 27:2) It must be a cubit in length, and its width a cubit.

It will be square. Its height will be two cubits;

(About 1 1/2 feet long and wide and 3 feet high,

or 45 centimeters long and wide and 90 centimeters high.)

the horns shall be of one piece with it.

3You must overlay it with pure gold, its top, its sides all around,

and its horns; and you must make a molding of gold all around it.

4 (Ex 25:27) You must make two golden rings for it under its molding.

You must make them on its two sides, on opposite sides of it,

and they will be holders for the poles with which to carry it.

5 Then you must make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.

6 (Ex 25:21-22) You must put it before the veil that is by the ark

of the testimony, in front of the mercy seat that is over the testimony,

where I will meet with you.

7 (1Sa 2:28; Ex 27:20-21) Aaron must burn sweet incense on it.

Every morning, when he trims the lamps, he must burn incense.

8 When Aaron lights the lamps at sundown, he must burn incense on it.

It is to be a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

9 (Lev 10:1)You must offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt sacrifice,

nor grain offering, and you must not pour out a drink offering on it.

10 (Lev 16:18; 23:27) Aaron must make atonement on its horns once a year

with the blood of the sin offering of atonement. Once a year he must make

atonement on it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.

The Atonement Money

11 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

12 (Nu 31:50; Ex 38:25-26) When you take the census of the children of

Israel according to their number, then each man is to pay a ransom for

his life to the Lord when you count them, so that there be no plague

among them when you number them.

13 (Lev 27:25; Nu 3:47) This is what everyone who is counted must give:

half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary

(About 1/5 ounce, or 5.8 grams; and in v. 15. (a shekel is twenty gerahs).)

The half shekel will be the offering to the Lord.

14 Everyone who is counted, from twenty years old and above,

must give an offering to the Lord.

15 (Pr 22:2; Eph 6:9) The rich must not give more and the poor must not

give less than half a shekel when they give the offering to the Lord,

to make atonement for your lives.

16 (Ex 38:25-31; Nu 16:40) You must take the atonement money of the

children of Israel and give it for the service of the tent of meeting,

so that it may be a memorial to the children of Israel before the Lord,

to make atonement for your lives.

The Bronze Basin

17 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

18 (Ex 38:8; 40:7) You must also make a basin of bronze,

with its base also of bronze, for washing,

and you must put it between the tent of meeting and the altar,

and you must put water in it.

19 (Isa 52:11; Ex 40:31-32) For Aaron and his sons must wash

their hands and their feet from it.

20 When they go into the tent of meeting, or when they come near

the altar to minister by burning incense as an offering made

by fire to the Lord, they must wash with water so that they will not die.

21 (Ex 28:43) So they must wash their hands and their feet,

so that they will not die. And it will be a perpetual statute for them,

even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

The Anointing Oil

22 Moreover the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

23 (SS 4:14; Eze 27:19) Take for yourself choice spices: five hundred shekels

(About 12 1/2 pounds, or 5.8 kilograms; and in v. 24. )

of pure myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon

(two hundred and fifty shekels About 6 1/4 pounds, or 2.9 kilograms.),

two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane,

24 (Ex 29:40; Ps 45:8) five hundred shekels of cassia,

according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin

(About 75 pounds, or 34 kilograms.) of olive oil.

25 (Ex 37:29; Nu 35:25; Ps 89:20) And you must make

with it a holy anointing oil, a perfumed compound,

the work of a perfumer. It will be a holy anointing oil.

26 (Nu 7:1) And you must anoint the tent of meeting with it,

along with the ark of the testimony,

27 and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils,

and the altar of incense,

28 and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils,

and the basin and its stand.

29 (Ex 29:37) You must consecrate them, so that they may be most holy.

Whatever touches them must be holy.

30 (Lev 8:12; 8:30) You must anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them,

so that they may minister as priests to Me.

31 You must speak to the children of Israel, saying,

"This will be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations.

32 (Ex 30:25) It must not be poured out on anyone's body,

nor shall you make any other like it in composition.

It is holy, and it will be holy to you.

33 (Ex 30:38; Ge 17:14) Whoever makes anything like it

or whoever puts any of it on a layman

will be cut off from his people."

The Incense

34 (Ex 25:6; 37:29) Then the Lord said to Moses:

Take for yourself sweet spices,

stacte and onycha and galbanum,

sweet spices with pure frankincense of equal amounts.

35 (Ex 30:25; Lev 2:13) You shall make of these an incense,

a compound expertly blended, mingled with salt, pure and holy.

36 (Ex 25:22) You must beat some of it very fine and put

part of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting

where I will meet with you. It will be most holy to you.

37 As for the perfume which you will make, you may not

make it for yourselves using the same recipe.

It must be holy for the Lord to you.

38 (Ex 30:33) Whoever makes anything like it in order to use it

as perfume must be cut off from his people.

Exodus 30

[1] And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt

thou make it.

[2] A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof;

foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the

horns thereof shall be of the same.

[3] And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides

thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a

crown of gold round about.

[4] And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the

two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they

shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.

[5] And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with

gold.

[6] And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the

testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will

meet with thee.

[7] And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he

dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.

[8] And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon

it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

[9] Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat

offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

[10] And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year

with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he

make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the

LORD.

[11] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[12] When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number,

then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when

thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest

them.

[13] This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are

numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is

twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.

[14] Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years

old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.

[15] The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than

half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an

atonement for your souls.

[16] And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and

shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that

it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an

atonement for your souls.

[17] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[18] Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to

wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the

congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

[19] For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

[20] When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash

with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to

minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

[21] So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and

it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed

throughout their generations.

[22] Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[23] Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred

shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty

shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

[24] And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary,

and of oil olive an hin:

[25] And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound

after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

[26] And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and

the ark of the testimony,

[27] And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels,

and the altar of incense,

[28] And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and

his foot.

[29] And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever

toucheth them shall be holy.

[30] And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that

they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

[31] And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be

an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

[32] Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any

other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy

unto you.

[33] Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon

a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

[34] And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and

onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each

shall there be a like weight:

[35] And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the

apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:

[36] And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the

testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with

thee: it shall be unto you most holy.

[37] And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to

yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy

for the LORD.

[38] Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be

cut off from his people.

EXODUS 31

The Tabernacle Artisans

Ex 35:30-35

1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2 (Ex 36:1; 35:30) See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri,

the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

3 (1Ki 7:14; Ex 35:31) I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom,

in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of craftsmanship

4 to devise artistic works for work with gold, with silver, and with bronze,

5 and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in carving of wood,

to work in all manner of craftsmanship.

6 (Ex 28:3; 35:10) I, indeed, I have given him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamak,

of the tribe of Dan, and I have given skill to all who are

specially skilled, that they may make everything that I have commanded you:

7 (Ex 36:8-37:9)the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony,

and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tent,

8 (Ex 37:10-28) the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand

with all its utensils, and the altar of incense,

9 (Ex 38:1-8) the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils,

and the basin and its stand,

10 the woven garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest

and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests,

11 (Ex 37:29) the anointing oil and sweet incense for the holy place.

They must make them according to all that I have commanded you.

The Sabbath Law

12 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

13 (Eze 20:12; 20:20) Speak also to the children of Israel, saying,

"You must surely keep My Sabbaths, for it is a sign between Me

and you throughout your generations, that you may know that

I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

14 "You shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you.

Everyone who defiles it will surely be put to death.

For whoever does any work on it, that person will be cut

off from among his people.

15 (Ex 16:23; Lev 23:3) Six days may work be done,

but on the seventh is the Sabbath of complete rest,

holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath

day will surely be put to death.

16 Therefore the children of Israel must keep the Sabbath,

to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations,

for a perpetual covenant.

17 (Ge 1:31; Ex 31:13; Ge 2:2-3) It is a sign between Me

and the children of Israel forever, for in six days

the Lord made heaven and earth,

but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed."

18 (Ex 24:12; 32:15-16) When He had made an end of

communing with him on Mount Sinai,

He gave Moses the two tablets of testimony,

tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

Exodus 31

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[2] See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of

the tribe of Judah:

[3] And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in

understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

[4] To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

[5] And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work

in all manner of workmanship.

[6] And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of

the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put

wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

[7] The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and

the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

[8] And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his

furniture, and the altar of incense,

[9] And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver

and his foot,

[10] And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest,

and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

[11] And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according

to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

[12] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[13] Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths

ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your

generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

[14] Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one

that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work

therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest,

holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall

surely be put to death.

[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the

sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six

days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and

was refreshed.

[18] And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him

upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the

finger of God.

entitled Success and Sacrifice

1 John 3:11-18

Love One Another

11 (1Jn 1:5; 2Jn 1:5) For this is the message that you heard

from the beginning: We should love one another,

12 (Heb 11:4; Jude 1:11) not like Cain, who was of the wicked one

and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him?

Because his own works were evil, and his brother's works were righteous.

13 (Jn 17:14; 15:18-19) Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.

14 (Jn 5:24; 1Jn 5:2) We know that we have passed from death to life,

because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love his brother remains

in death.

15 (Mt 5:21-22; Rev 21:8) Whoever hates his brother is a murderer,

and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.

16 (Php 2:17; Jn 3:16) By this we know the love of God: that He laid down

His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

17 (1Jn 4:20; Heb 13:16) Whoever has the world's goods and sees

his brother in need, but closes his heart of compassion from him,

how can the love of God remain in him?

18 (1Jn 2:1; Ro 12:9) My little children, let us love not in word

and speech, but in action and truth.

11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning,

that we should love one another.

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother.

And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil,

and his brother's righteous.

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love

the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that

no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:

and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need,

and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him,

how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue;

but in deed and in truth.

During a summer study program, my son read a book about a boy who wanted

to climb an Alpine mountain in Switzerland. Practicing for this goal occupied

most of his time. When he finally set off for the summit, things didn't go

as planned. Partway up the slope, a teammate became sick and the boy decided

to stay behind to help instead of achieving his goal.

In the classroom, my son's teacher asked, "Was the main character a failure

because he didn't climb the mountain?" One student said, "Yes, because it was

in his DNA to fail." But another child disagreed. He reasoned that the boy was

not a failure, because he gave up something important to help someone else.

When we set aside our plans and care for others instead, we're acting like

Jesus. Jesus sacrificed having a home, reliable income, and social acceptance

to travel and share God's truth. Ultimately, He gave up His life to free us

from sin and show us God's love (1 John 3:16).

Earthly success is much different from success in God's eyes. He values the

compassion that moves us to rescue disadvantaged and hurting people (v. 17).

He approves of decisions that protect people. With God's help, we can align

our values with His and devote ourselves to loving Him and others, which

is the most significant achievement there is.

Reflect & Pray

How has the quest for success affected your life?

Why is it sometimes difficult to align our values with what matters to God?

Heavenly Father, I want to be successful in Your eyes.

Teach me how to love others the way You love me.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace - Day 3 The song of Exaltation

Exodus 15:2

2 The Lord is my strength and song,

and He has become my salvation.

He is my God, and I will praise Him;

my father's God, and I will exalt Him.

2 The LORD is my strength and song,

And he is become my salvation:

He is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation;

My father's God, and I will exalt him.

The world is full of music that communicates human emotion:

love, joy, sadness, separation.

A love song makes us misty-eyed; a song of protest arouses anger; a song

describing loss stimulates feelings of hurt and abandonment.

Music is a powerful force to sway the human spirit.

Exodus 15:2 indicates that God should be the source of the songs in our hearts.

Human emotions vacillate; human relationships disappoint,

but God is our "strength" and our "song".

To exalt the Lord includes many different type of "songs".

"I can't carry a tune in a bucket," one woman complained.

"How can I sing to the Lord anything that will be pleasing to him?"

But the Lord does not delight in the professionalism of our songs,

but in the motivation of our hearts. We can "sing to the Lord"

when we enjoy a Bach organ piece played for his glory.

We can exalt him in the words of Scripture - either remembered or sung.

We can worship him by enjoying the songs of others.

The key to making the Lord our song is exaltation. When our thoughts

lift him up in praise, we are singing a song of exaltation to the Lord.

When God is exalted in our songs, in our hearts, and in our thoughts,

that focus gives strength to our lives. We can face the difficulties

that are an inevitable part of experience,

because God is our "strength and our song".

Application

a) What is the difference between a song that is professionally performed

and one that exalts the Lord?

b) What practical steps can I take to make

my daily life a "song of praise" to God?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

2 Cor 9:6

6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,

and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly;

and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are Worried Over Money

1 Tim 6:6-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain

that we can carry nothing out.

8 If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with these things.

9 But those who desire

to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish

and harmful lusts, which drown men in ruin and destruction.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil.

While coveting after money, some have strayed from the faith

and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain

we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will

be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish

and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:

which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,

and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

Alberta

Quick facts on Muslims in Alberta

Alberta 2015 population 4121700

est Muslim Population 195240

CNMM Networks: Calgary and Edmonton

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:

- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Muslim-background believers.

- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially

in their faith and the Church.

- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their

not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.

- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.

- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim

in these growing Muslim population centres.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,

2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings

and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life

in all godliness and honesty,

3 (1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and

acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
