Ps 25 , 29, 33, 36, 39
PSALMS 25
A Psalm of David.
1 To You, O Lord,
do I lift up my soul.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) O my God, I trust in You;
may I not be ashamed;
may my enemies not triumph over me.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Yes, let none who wait on You
be ashamed;
let them be ashamed
who transgress without cause.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Make me to know Your ways, O Lord;
teach me Your paths.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:)5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are the God of my salvation;
on You I wait all the day.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Remember Your mercies, O Lord,
and Your lovingkindness,
for they are from old.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Do not remember the sins of my youth
or my transgressions;
according to Your lovingkindness remember me,
on account of Your goodness, O Lord.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore He will teach sinners in the way.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) The meek will He guide in judgment,
and the meek He will teach His way.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness
and truth,
for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) For Your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity,
for it is great.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
He will teach him in the way He should choose.
13 He will dwell at ease,
and his descendants will inherit the land.
14 The counsel of the Lord is with those who fear him,
and He will make His covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
for He will lead my feet from the net.
16 Turn to me, and be gracious to me,
for I am isolated and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look on my pain and misery,
and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider my enemies, for they are many,
and they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Watch over my life, and deliver me!
Let me not suffer shame,
for I seek refuge in You.
21 Truth and integrity will preserve me
while I wait for You.
22 Redeem Israel, O God,
out of all their troubles.

and strips the forests bare;
and in His temple everyone says, "Glory!"
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) The Lord sits enthroned above the flood,
the Lord sits as King forever.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) The Lord will give strength to His people;
the Lord will bless His people with peace.
PSALMS 33
The Sovereignty of the Lord.
1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
for praise is fitting for the upright.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 )Give thanks to the Lord with the harp;
make music to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Sing to Him a new song;
play an instrument skillfully with a joyful shout.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) For the word of the Lord is upright,

and all their host by the breath of His mouth.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He puts the depths in storehouses.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 ) For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) The Lord frustrates the counsel of the nations;
He restrains the purposes of the people.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the purposes of His heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom He has chosen as His inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men.
14 From the place of His habitation He gazes
on all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He fashions their hearts alike;
He considers all their works.
16 No king is saved by a great army;
a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
17A horse is a vain hope for safety;
it will not deliver by its great strength.
18 The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
on those who hope in His lovingkindness,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart will rejoice in Him,
because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be onus,
just as we hope in You.
PSALMS 36
For the Music Director. A Psalm of David, the servant of the Lord.
1 An oracle within my heart
about the transgression of the wicked:
There is no fear of God
before their eyes.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) For they flatter themselves in their own eyes,
that their iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) The words of their mouth are wickedness and deceit;
they have ceased to be wise and to do good.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) They devise mischief on their bed;
they set themselves on a path that is not good;
they do not reject evil.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens,
and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Your righteousness is like the great mountains,
Your judgments like the great deep;
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) How excellent is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore mankind
seeks refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) They will drink their fill from the abundance of Your house,
and You will cause them to drink from the river of Your pleasures.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light we see light.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Do not let the foot of the arrogant come against me,
and do not let the hand of the wicked cause me to wander.
12 There the workers of iniquity have fallen;
they are cast down and not able to rise.
PSALMS 39
For the Music Director. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1 I said, "I will take heed of my ways
so that I do not sin with my tongue;
I will keep my mouth muzzled
while the wicked are before me."
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) I was speechless in silence;
I was silent to no avail,
but my anguish was stirred up.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) My heart was hot within me;
while I was musing, the fire burned,
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) "Lord, make me to know my end,
and what is the measure of my days,
that I may know how transient I am.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Indeed, You have made my days as a handbreadth,
and my age is as nothing before You;
indeed every man at his best is as a breath." Selah
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Surely every man walks in a mere shadow;
surely he goes as a breath;
he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 ) Now, Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in You.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 ) Deliver me from all my transgressions;
do not make me the reproach of the foolish.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) I was speechless, I did not open my mouth,
because You did it.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Remove Your blow from me;
I am consumed by the hostility of Your hand.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) When with rebukes You correct a man for iniquity,
You consume like a moth what is dear to him;
surely every man is vapor. Selah
12 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not be silent at my tears,
for I am a stranger with You,
and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
13 Turn Your gaze of displeasure from me, that I may smile,
before I go away and am no more.

entitled The Right Words
Ephesians 6:10–20
The Battle Against Evil
10 (Eph 1:19; 1Co 16:13) Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord
and in the power of His might.
11 (Eph 6:13; Ro 13:12; Eph 4:14) Put on the whole armor of God
that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 (Eph 1:3; 1:21) For our fight is not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of
evil in the heavenly places.
13 (Eph 5:16) Therefore take up the whole armor of God
that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand.
14 (Isa 11:5; 59:17) Stand therefore, having your waist girded
with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 (Isa 52:7; Ro 10:15) having your feet fitted with the readiness
of the gospel of peace, 16and above all, taking the shield of faith,
with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery
arrows of the evil one.
17 (Heb 4:12; Isa 49:2; 59:17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 (Col 4:2; 1Ti 2:1; Eph 1:16) Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds
of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance
and supplication for all the saints.
19 (1Th 5:25; Ac 4:29) Pray for me, that the power to speak may be given
to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known t
he mystery of the gospel,
20 (2Co 5:20; Ac 28:20) for which I am an ambassador in chains,
that I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.
In the past year or so, a number of authors have urged believers to take
a fresh look at the "vocabulary" of our faith. One writer, for example,
emphasised that even theologically rich words of faith can lose
their impact when, through overfamiliarity and overuse,
we lose touch with the depths of the gospel and our need for God.
When that happens, he suggested, we may need to relearn the language
of faith "from scratch" letting go of our assumptions
until we can see the good news for the first time.
The invitation to learn to "speak God from scratch" reminds me of Paul,
who devoted his life to "[becoming] all things to all people
. . . for the sake of the gospel" (1 Corinthians 9:22-23). He never assumed
he knew best how to communicate what Jesus had done. Instead, he relied
on constant prayer and pleaded for fellow believers to pray for him as well
-to help him find "the right words" (Ephesians 6:19 nlt) to share the good news.
The apostle also knew the need for each believer in Christ to remain humble
and receptive each day to their need for deeper roots in His love (3:16-17).
It's only as we deepen our roots in God's love, each day becoming more
aware of our dependence on His grace, that we can begin to find the right
words to share the incredible news of what He's done for us.
By: Monica La Rose
Reflect & Pray
When have you had an experience of seeing the gospel in a new way for
the first time? How can prayer keep your heart receptive to your constant
need for God's grace?
Loving God, forgive me for, far too often, taking Your grace and goodness
for granted. Help me to daily grasp in new ways the depths of Your grace
and love. And help me find the right words to share what You've done.

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace – Day 6 God Works!
Phil 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence,
but so much more in my absence, work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.
13 For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
"I just can't do it!" Marlys, a carrer woman in her 30s, was struggling to fit
her new Christian pricinples into the business world. Accustomed to the
cutthroat tactics of the corporate hierarchy, she has a hard time knowing
Jesus' examples of grace and mercy applied.
Marlys was right. She couldn't do it. In our own strength, none of us is able
to "live the Christian life." Someone has said, " The Christian life isn't
difficult -- it's impossible!" Only the power of the Holy Spirit is
effective to work the needed changes in our priorities and behaviour;
only God can accomplish what he calls us to do.
In Phillippians 2:12, Paul says "work it out." If we stop there,
we are likely to throw up our hands in despair.
But the good news appears in verse 13:
" For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure."
WE are not left on our own to figure out how to live the Christian life.
God gives us both the will and the ability to obey him, to live in a way
that will please him.
The key to a God-pleasing life is not performance, but obedience. God does not
expect us to "do great things" for him, to deserve his love and grace.
Our part in the process of salvation is to respond in obedience to the Lord,
to say "yes" to wht he asks of us. We cannot change ourselves;
we cannot even know ourselves apart from the Spirit's insight. But
as we cooperate with him, as we agree to be obedient, the Spirit changes us
within, and those changes are "worked out" into our lives.
Application
a) Have I ever tried to "Live the Christian life" on my own strengh?
What was the result?
b) In what practical ways is Paul's declaration that "God works in me"
good new in my life?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Proverbs 28:13
13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
When you are Angry of Vengeful
Prov 15:1
1 A soft answer turns away wrath,
but grievous words stir up anger.
Proverbs 25:28
28 He who has no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down and without walls.
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Quick facts on Muslims in Ontario

est Muslim Population 1 001 542
CNMM Networks: Ottawa, Durham, York, Toronto, Mississauga, Halton, Hamilton,
Niagara, Kitchener, London, Windsor
Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Musslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontari. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not comlacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosqoe distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who havve converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Antoerh town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connectiosn with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

POST-ISLAM IRANIANS
SEEKING ALTERNATIVES IN THE WASHINGTON, D.C., AREA
Ali and other Iranians living around Washinton, D.C.
often feel like strangers in a strange land, but they adapt.
Ali and his family felt their D.C. suburb was too fast-paced
and impersonal compared to the relaxed warmth of Iran,
but he was committed to fitting in, and not only learned the
language of his new neighbors, but also adopted their values
of wealth, prestige, and partying.
Ali's passionate pursuit of the world, however,
left him feeling empty, and he saw little point in living.
Christians tried to share Christ with him, but he brushed them off.
"Crazy blasphemers," he thought.
But after a series of supernatural experiences-including two dreams
and a miracle-Ali's resistance to his saviour ended. He placed his faith
in Christ, was baptized, and today is a dedicated follower of Jesus
and a faithful evangelist of the Good News.
There are 40000 Iranian Muslims in the Washington, D.C.
metro area, according to Global Gates' North American
UPG Priority Matrix. Most identify as Muslims but are nominal
in their practice of Islam, and there are only a few Iranian-majority
mosques to serve the population.
Many turned away from Islam after the 1979 Islamic revolution
married fundamentalist religion and nativist politics. Some are now
jaded toward all religion, while others are open
to other forms of spirituality.
Pray that Jesus will find more Iranians like
Ali in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
Pray that God shows the capital's Iranians the vanity of riches.
Pray that those who reject Islam don’t reject God.
Pray for the multiplication of laborers, Iranian evangelists,
dreams of Jesus and other demonstrations of His power, love and truth.
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) .

b) Pray for the staff and volunteers that serve in local churches in your
city or community, that the Lord will anoint them for effective service. (
Romans 12:4-8
4 (1Co 12:12 -14)For just as we have many parts in one body,
and not all parts have the same function,
5(1Co 10:17; 12:20)so we, being many, are one body in Christ,
and all are parts of one another.
6(Ac 13:1; 1Co 13:2)We have diverse gifts according to the grace
that is given to us: if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith;
7 (Ac 13:1; Eph 4:11)if service, in serving; he who teaches, in teaching;
8 (2Co 9:7; 1Co 12:28) he who exhorts, in exhortation;
he who gives, with generosity; he who rules, with diligence;
he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all His work is done in truth.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of His mouth.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He puts the depths in storehouses.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 ) For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) The Lord frustrates the counsel of the nations;
He restrains the purposes of the people.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the purposes of His heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom He has chosen as His inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men.
14 From the place of His habitation He gazes
on all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He fashions their hearts alike;
He considers all their works.
16 No king is saved by a great army;
a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
17A horse is a vain hope for safety;
it will not deliver by its great strength.
18 The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
on those who hope in His lovingkindness,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) The words of their mouth are wickedness and deceit;
they have ceased to be wise and to do good.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) They devise mischief on their bed;
they set themselves on a path that is not good;
they do not reject evil.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens,
and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Your righteousness is like the great mountains,
Your judgments like the great deep;
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light we see light.
12 There the workers of iniquity have fallen;
they are cast down and not able to rise.
PSALMS 39
For the Music Director. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1 I said, "I will take heed of my ways
so that I do not sin with my tongue;
I will keep my mouth muzzled
while the wicked are before me."
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) I was speechless in silence;
I was silent to no avail,
but my anguish was stirred up.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) My heart was hot within me;
while I was musing, the fire burned,
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) "Lord, make me to know my end,
and what is the measure of my days,
that I may know how transient I am.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Indeed, You have made my days as a handbreadth,
and my age is as nothing before You;
indeed every man at his best is as a breath." Selah
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Surely every man walks in a mere shadow;
surely he goes as a breath;
he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 ) Now, Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in You.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 ) Deliver me from all my transgressions;
do not make me the reproach of the foolish.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) I was speechless, I did not open my mouth,
because You did it.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Remove Your blow from me;
I am consumed by the hostility of Your hand.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) When with rebukes You correct a man for iniquity,
You consume like a moth what is dear to him;
surely every man is vapor. Selah
12 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not be silent at my tears,
for I am a stranger with You,
and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

In our own strength, none of us is able
to "live the Christian life." Someone has said, " The Christian life isn't
difficult -- it's impossible!" Only the power of the Holy Spirit is
effective to work the needed changes in our priorities and behaviour;
only God can accomplish what he calls us to do.
Our part in the process of salvation is to respond in obedience to the Lord,
to say "yes" to wht he asks of us. We cannot change ourselves;
we cannot even know ourselves apart from the Spirit's insight. But
as we cooperate with him, as we agree to be obedient, the Spirit changes us
within, and those changes are "worked out" into our lives.
Application
a) Have I ever tried to "Live the Christian life" on my own strengh?
What was the result?
b) In what practical ways is Paul's declaration that "God works in me"
good new in my life?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Proverbs 28:13
13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
When you are Angry of Vengeful
Prov 15:1
1 A soft answer turns away wrath,
but grievous words stir up anger.
Proverbs 25:28
28 He who has no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down and without walls.
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Amen."

4 (1Co 12:12 -14)For just as we have many parts in one body,
and not all parts have the same function,
5(1Co 10:17; 12:20)so we, being many, are one body in Christ,
and all are parts of one another.
6(Ac 13:1; 1Co 13:2)We have diverse gifts according to the grace
that is given to us: if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith;
7 (Ac 13:1; Eph 4:11)if service, in serving; he who teaches, in teaching;
8 (2Co 9:7; 1Co 12:28) he who exhorts, in exhortation;
he who gives, with generosity; he who rules, with diligence;
he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
