EXODUS 19
Israel at Mount Sinai
1 (Ex 12:6; 16:1) In the third month after the children of Israel had gone
forth out of the land of Egypt, on the same day they came
into the Wilderness of Sinai.
2 (Ex 3:1; 17:1) When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the
Wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness.
Israel camped there before the mountain.
3 (Ex 3:4; Ac 7:38) Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him
from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob
and tell the children of Israel:
4 (Isa 63:9; Dt 29:2; Rev 12:14) 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians,
and how I lifted you up on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself.
5 (Ex 9:29; Dt 10:14) Now therefore, if you will faithfully obey My voice
and keep My covenant, then you shall be My special possession out of all
the nations, for all the earth is Mine.
6 (Dt 7:6; 26:19) And you will be to Me a kingdom of priests
and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak
to the children of Israel."
7 (Ex 4:29–30) So Moses came and called for the elders of the people
and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him.
8 (Ex 24:3; 24:7) Then all the people answered together and said,
"All that the Lord has spoken we will do."
And Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
9 (Dt 4:36; Ex 19:16) The Lord said to Moses, "Indeed, I am going to come
to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with
you and always believe in you." Then Moses told the words of the people
to the Lord.
10 (Ge 35:2; Lev 11:44–45) The Lord said to Moses, "Go to the people
and sanctify them today and tomorrow,
and have them wash their clothes,
11 (Ex 19:16; 34:5) and be ready for the third day, for on the third day
the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.
12 You shall set boundaries for the people all around, saying,
'Take heed to yourselves so that you not go up onto the mountain
or touch its border.
Whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death.
13 (Ex 19:16; 19:19) No hand will touch him, but he shall
surely be stoned or shot through, whether it be beast or man.
He shall not live.' When the trumpet sounds a long blast,
they shall come up to the mountain."
14 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified
the people, and they washed their clothes.
15 (Ex 19:11; 1Sa 21:4–5) He said to the people,
"Be ready for the third day. Do not go near your wives."
16 (Heb 12:21; 12:18–19) So on the third day, in the morning,
there was thunder and lightning, and a thick cloud on the mountain,
and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet.
All the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 (Dt 4:10) Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet
with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
18 (Ps 144:5; Ex 24:17; Jdg 5:5) Now Mount Sinai was completely covered
in smoke because the Lord had descended upon it in fire, and the smoke
ascended like the smoke of a furnace,
and the whole mountain shook violently.
19 (Ps 81:7; Ex 19:16) When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder,
Moses spoke, and God answered him with a voice.Or thunder.
20 (Ne 9:13) The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain.
And the Lord called Moses up to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21 (1Sa 6:19; Ex 3:5) Then the Lord said to Moses,
"Go down, warn the people, lest they force their way to the Lord to look,
and many of them perish.
22 (Ex 24:5) Let the priests also, which come near to the Lord,
sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break through against them."
23 (Ex 19:12) Moses said to the Lord, "The people cannot come
up to Mount Sinai, for You warned us, saying,
'Set boundaries around the mountain, and sanctify it.' "
24 Then the Lord said to him, "Go, get down, and come up,
you and Aaron with you, but do not let the priests
and the people force their way through to come up to the Lord,
lest He break through against them."
25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.

The Ten Commandments
Dt 5:6–21
1 (Dt 5:22) Now God spoke all these words, saying:
2 (Ex 13:3; Lev 26:1) I am the Lord your God, who brought you
out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 (Jer 35:15; Dt 6:14) You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 (Lev 26:1; Dt 27:15; Lev 19:4) You shall not make for yourself
any graven idol, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water
below the earth.
5 (Ex 34:14; Nu 14:18) You shall not bow down to them or serve them;
for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
to the third and fourth generation of them who hate Me,
6 (Dt 7:9) and showing lovingkindness to thousands of them
who love Me and keep My commandments.
( No idols, Love the Lord Your God as yourself,
what idols are there in your life?)
7 (Lev 19:12; Jas 5:12) You shall not take the name of the Lord your God
in vain, for the Lord will not hold guiltless anyone
who takes His name in vain.
( NO swearing. REmember all good thinngs come from above.
Swaer at Satan, the enemy of your soul)
8 (Lev 19:3; Ge 2:3) Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
9 (Lk 13:14; Ex 23:12) Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 (Ex 34:21; Nu 15:32–36) but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the
Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son,
or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant,
or your livestock, or your sojourner who is within your gates.
11 (Ge 2:2–3; Ex 31:17) For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 (Lev 19:3; Lk 18:20) Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
(THe Egyptians forced the Hebrews to work without rest.
A Day of rest is good for the soul)
13 (Ro 13:9; Ge 9:5–6; Ex 21:20) You shall not murder.
(No killing , and do not call your brother Raca)
14 (Lev 18:20; 20:10)You shall not commit adultery.
( A big one. Adultery - Pornography is and adultery industry,
same with Prostitution - Recall Judah. Cheating on spuse is not allowed)
15 (Lev 19:11; 19:13) You shall not steal.
(Never be a thief)
16 (Ex 23:1; Mt 19:18) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
( Never tell a lie)
17 (Ro 7:7; Mt 5:28) You shall not covet your neighbor's house;
you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant,
or his maidservant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.
(Never envy - pride in involved . Be humble)
18 (Ex 19:16–18) All the people witnessed the thunder
and the lightning and the sound of the trumpet
and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it,
they trembled and stood at a distance.
19 (Dt 18:16; Gal 3:19) They said to Moses, "You speak to us,
and we will listen, but do not let God speak to us, lest we die."
20 (Dt 13:3; Isa 8:13) Moses said to the people, "Do not fear,
for God has come to test you, so that the fear of Him may be
before you so that you do not sin."
21 (1Ki 8:12; Ps 18:9) The people stood a distance away as Moses
drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

The Law About the Altar
22 (Ne 9:13; Dt 4:36) Then the Lord said to Moses:
Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,
"You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
23 (Ex 20:3–5; 2Ki 17:33) You shall not make gods of silver alongside
Me or make gods of gold for yourselves.
24 (Dt 12:5; 16:11; 26:2) "You shall make an altar of earth for Me
and on it you shall sacrifice your burnt offerings and your peace offerings,
your sheep, and your oxen.
In every place where I cause My name to be honored,
I will come to you and bless you.
25 (Dt 27:5–6; Jos 8:31) If you will make Me an altar of stone,
you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you use your tool on it,
you will have polluted it.
26 And you shall not go up by steps to My altar,
so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it."
EXODUS 21
The Law About Servants
Dt 15:12–18; Lev 25:39–55
1 (Dt 4:14; 6:20) Now these are the judgments which you will set before them.
2 (Dt 15:12–15; 15:18) If you buy a Hebrew servant, he will serve
for six years, but in the seventh he shall go out free
without paying anything.
3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself.
If he is married, then his wife will go out with him.
4 If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters,
the wife and her children shall belong to her master,
and he will go out by himself.
5 (Dt 15:16–17) However, if the servant plainly says,
"I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free,"
6 (Ex 22:8–9) then his master will bring him to the judges,
then he shall also bring him to the door or to the doorpost,
and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl,
and he shall serve him forever.
7 (Ne 5:5; Ex 21:2–3) If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant,
she shall not go out as the male servants do.
8 If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself,
then he shall let her be redeemed.
He has no authority to sell her to a foreign nation,
because he has dealt deceitfully with her.
9 If he has designated her for his son, then he shall deal with
her according to the customary rights of daughters.
10 If he marries another wife,
then he must not diminish the first one's food,
her clothing, or her marital rights.
11 If he does not provide these three for her,
then she shall go out free, without paying money.
The Law About Violence
12 (Ge 9:6; Lev 24:17; Mt 26:52) He that strikes a man
so that he dies shall surely be put to death.
13 (Jos 20:2–9; 1Sa 24:4) However, if it was not premeditated,
but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint you
a place where he may flee.
14 (1Ki 2:28–34; Heb 10:26) But if a man willfully comes upon his neighbour
in order to kill him cunningly, then you must take him from My altar,
that he may die.
(Capital Punishment)
15 He who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
(Honour your father and mother comes to mind)
16 (Dt 24:7; Ex 22:4) He who kidnaps a man and sells him,
or if he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death.
(Extortion punishable by death)
17 (Pr 20:20; Dt 27:16) He who curses his father or his mother shall
surely be put to death.
18 (Ex 21:20) If men fight and one strikes the other with a stone
or with his fist, and he does not die, but must remain in bed,
19 and then if he gets up and walks around on his staff,
then he who struck him shall go unpunished.
Only he must pay for his loss of time
and shall see to it that he is thoroughly healed.
20 If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant
with a rod so that he or she dies at his hand, then he shall surely be punished.
21 Nevertheless, if he survives for a day or two,
then he shall not be punished, for it is his money.
(Treat those who serve you correctly)
22 (Dt 22:18–19; Ex 21:30) If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that
her child is born prematurely,Or she has a miscarriage.
yet there is no serious injury,
then he shall be surely punished in accordance with
what the woman's husband demands of him,
and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 (Dt 19:21) But if there is any serious injury,
then you shall give life for life,
24 (Dt 19:21) eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
(That is rather strong)
26 If a man strikes the eye of his male servant
or the eye of his female servant so that it is destroyed,
then he must let him go free on account of his eye.
27 If he knocks out his male servant's tooth
or his female servant's tooth,
then he shall let him or her go free on account of the tooth.
Laws About Property
28 (Ex 21:32) If an ox gores a man or a woman to death,
then the ox must surely be stoned and its flesh must not be eaten,
but the owner of the ox will be acquitted.
29 But if the ox has had the habit of goring,
and the owner has been made aware of it,
and he has not kept it in, and it has killed a man or a woman,
then the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death.
30 (Ex 21:22; 30:12) If a ransom is set for him, then he shall give
for the ransom of his life whatever is demanded of him.
31 Whether it gored a son or gored a daughter,
it will be done to him according to this rule.
32 (Mt 26:15; Zec 11:12–13) If the ox gores a male servant
or a female servant, then its owner shall give thirty shekels
(About 12 ounces, or 345 grams. ) of silver to their master,
and the ox must be stoned.
33 If a man opens a pit or if a man digs a pit
and does not cover it, and an ox
or a donkey falls into it,
34 the owner of the pit must make restitution.
He must give money to their owner, and the dead animal will be his.
35 If one man's ox hurts another's so that it dies,
then they shall sell the live ox
and divide its proceeds and divide the dead ox also.
36 Or if it be known that the ox has had the habit of goring
and its owner has not kept it in,
then he shall surely pay ox for ox
and the dead animal will become his own.

Harriet Tubman was one of the great American heroes of the 19th century.
Showing remarkable courage, she guided more than three hundred fellow
slaves to freedom after she first escaped slavery by crossing into
free territory in the United States North.
Not content to simply enjoy her own freedom,
she ventured back into slave states nineteen times to lead
friends, family, and strangers to freedom, sometimes guiding
people on foot all the way to Canada.
What drove Tubman to such brave action?
A woman of deep faith, she at one time said this:
"I always told God, I’m going to hold steady on you,
and you've got to see me through."
Her dependence on God's guidance
as she led people out of slavery was a hallmark of her success.
What does it mean to "hold steady" to God?
A verse in the prophecy of Isaiah might help us see that in reality
it's He who holds us as we grab His hand.
Isaiah quotes God, who said, "I am the Lord your God who takes
hold of your right hand and says to you,
Do not fear; I will help you" (41:13).
Harriet held tightly to God, and He saw her through.
What challenges are you facing?
Hold steady to God as He "takes hold" of your hand and your life.
"Do not fear." He will help you.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 6 - Through The Fire
Is 43:2
2 (Ps 66:12; Da 3:25–27) When you pass through waters,
I will be with you.
And through the rivers,
they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame kindle on you.
In the Book of Daniel, 3 young men provide one of the world's best-known
Bible stories. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three of the finest young
men of Israel, were taken into capitivity to Babylon. There King
Nebuchadnezzar, filled with his own importance, commanded that
everyone bow down and worship his image.
When shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship anyone
except the One True god, they were cast into Nebuchadnezzar's
furnace of fire.
Is 43:2 brings their experience into focus for us. There the Lord says,
"When you pass throught the fire ... when you walk through the water ..."
Not if, but when. If we are committed to serving and honouring the Lord,
at some point we will be faced with "passing through the fire" for hm.
We may not face a physical frunace, but we may face the fires of
persecution, anger, hostility or suffering. And God says:
"I will be with you."
When the three young Israelites stepped into the king's furnace, all
the people looked and saw, not three, but four men in the fire, their
bonds burned away, walking freely among the flames. They did not
escape the fate decreed for them. But the Lord was with them in
the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the flood
and the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the
flood and fire tht life brings to us. The promise of god remains:
"I will be with you; the waters will not overflow, nor will the
flames burn you."

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta maoy have a total as hihg as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the legrest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in JEsus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discpleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congreations, and euqally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their
not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.
- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim
in these growing Muslim population centres.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

a) Pray for Canada's First Nation peoples, that the Lord will draw them to Himself

and You give them their food in due season.

b) Pray for the Lord to search your life , reveal anything offensive and cleanse you from unrighteousness
( ps 139:24 and see if there is any rebellious way in me,
and lead me in the ancient way.
1: John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Conclusion:
Pray to seek the Lord's will about why the 10 commandments were set up
Pray to seek the Lord's will in your challenges today.
Pray to seek the Lord's during troubled times
Pray to seek the Lord in what your needs are.
Pray to seek the Righteousness of the Lord.
Pray for Muslims in Alberta to receive Christ as Saviour .
Pray for Godly values in Canada and that the politicans will realise
that they are stewart of power.
Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.
Pray to accept Jesus in your life.

All the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 (Dt 4:10) Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet
with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
18 (Ps 144:5; Ex 24:17; Jdg 5:5) Now Mount Sinai was completely covered
in smoke because the Lord had descended upon it in fire, and the smoke
ascended like the smoke of a furnace,
and the whole mountain shook violently.

Moses spoke, and God answered him with a voice.Or thunder.
20 (Ne 9:13) The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain.

The Ten Commandments
Dt 5:6–21
1 (Dt 5:22) Now God spoke all these words, saying:
2 (Ex 13:3; Lev 26:1) I am the Lord your God, who brought you
out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 (Jer 35:15; Dt 6:14) You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 (Lev 26:1; Dt 27:15; Lev 19:4) You shall not make for yourself
any graven idol, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water
below the earth.
5 (Ex 34:14; Nu 14:18) You shall not bow down to them or serve them;
for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
to the third and fourth generation of them who hate Me,
6 (Dt 7:9) and showing lovingkindness to thousands of them
who love Me and keep My commandments.

8 (Lev 19:3; Ge 2:3) Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
9 (Lk 13:14; Ex 23:12) Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 (Ex 34:21; Nu 15:32–36) but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the
Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son,
or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant,
or your livestock, or your sojourner who is within your gates.
11 (Ge 2:2–3; Ex 31:17) For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 (Lev 19:3; Lk 18:20) Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

A Day of rest is good for the soul)
13 (Ro 13:9; Ge 9:5–6; Ex 21:20) You shall not murder.

14 (Lev 18:20; 20:10)You shall not commit adultery.

15 (Lev 19:11; 19:13) You shall not steal.

16 (Ex 23:1; Mt 19:18) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
( Never tell a lie)
17 (Ro 7:7; Mt 5:28) You shall not covet your neighbor's house;
you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant,
or his maidservant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.
(Never envy - pride in involved . Be humble)
18 (Ex 19:16–18) All the people witnessed the thunder
and the lightning and the sound of the trumpet
and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it,
they trembled and stood at a distance.
19 (Dt 18:16; Gal 3:19) They said to Moses, "You speak to us,
and we will listen, but do not let God speak to us, lest we die."
20 (Dt 13:3; Isa 8:13) Moses said to the people, "Do not fear,
for God has come to test you, so that the fear of Him may be
before you so that you do not sin."
21 (1Ki 8:12; Ps 18:9) The people stood a distance away as Moses
drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

The Law About the Altar
22 (Ne 9:13; Dt 4:36) Then the Lord said to Moses:
Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,
"You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
23 (Ex 20:3–5; 2Ki 17:33) You shall not make gods of silver alongside
Me or make gods of gold for yourselves.
24 (Dt 12:5; 16:11; 26:2) "You shall make an altar of earth for Me
and on it you shall sacrifice your burnt offerings and your peace offerings,
your sheep, and your oxen.
In every place where I cause My name to be honored,
I will come to you and bless you.
25 (Dt 27:5–6; Jos 8:31) If you will make Me an altar of stone,
you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you use your tool on it,
you will have polluted it.
26 And you shall not go up by steps to My altar,

EXODUS 21
The Law About Servants
Dt 15:12–18; Lev 25:39–55
1 (Dt 4:14; 6:20) Now these are the judgments which you will set before them.
2 (Dt 15:12–15; 15:18) If you buy a Hebrew servant, he will serve
for six years, but in the seventh he shall go out free
without paying anything.
3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself.
If he is married, then his wife will go out with him.
4 If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters,
the wife and her children shall belong to her master,
and he will go out by himself.
5 (Dt 15:16–17) However, if the servant plainly says,
"I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free,"
6 (Ex 22:8–9) then his master will bring him to the judges,
then he shall also bring him to the door or to the doorpost,
and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl,
and he shall serve him forever.
7 (Ne 5:5; Ex 21:2–3) If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant,
she shall not go out as the male servants do.
8 If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself,
then he shall let her be redeemed.
He has no authority to sell her to a foreign nation,
because he has dealt deceitfully with her.
9 If he has designated her for his son, then he shall deal with
her according to the customary rights of daughters.
10 If he marries another wife,
then he must not diminish the first one's food,
her clothing, or her marital rights.
11 If he does not provide these three for her,
then she shall go out free, without paying money.
The Law About Violence
12 (Ge 9:6; Lev 24:17; Mt 26:52) He that strikes a man
so that he dies shall surely be put to death.
13 (Jos 20:2–9; 1Sa 24:4) However, if it was not premeditated,
but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint you
a place where he may flee.
14 (1Ki 2:28–34; Heb 10:26) But if a man willfully comes upon his neighbour
in order to kill him cunningly, then you must take him from My altar,
that he may die.
(Capital Punishment)
15 He who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
(Honour your father and mother comes to mind)
16 (Dt 24:7; Ex 22:4) He who kidnaps a man and sells him,
or if he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death.
(Extortion punishable by death)
17 (Pr 20:20; Dt 27:16) He who curses his father or his mother shall
surely be put to death.
18 (Ex 21:20) If men fight and one strikes the other with a stone
or with his fist, and he does not die, but must remain in bed,
19 and then if he gets up and walks around on his staff,
then he who struck him shall go unpunished.
Only he must pay for his loss of time
and shall see to it that he is thoroughly healed.
20 If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant
with a rod so that he or she dies at his hand, then he shall surely be punished.
21 Nevertheless, if he survives for a day or two,
then he shall not be punished, for it is his money.
(Treat those who serve you correctly)
22 (Dt 22:18–19; Ex 21:30) If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that
her child is born prematurely,Or she has a miscarriage.
yet there is no serious injury,
then he shall be surely punished in accordance with
what the woman's husband demands of him,
and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 (Dt 19:21) But if there is any serious injury,
then you shall give life for life,
24 (Dt 19:21) eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

26 If a man strikes the eye of his male servant
or the eye of his female servant so that it is destroyed,
then he must let him go free on account of his eye.
27 If he knocks out his male servant's tooth
or his female servant's tooth,
then he shall let him or her go free on account of the tooth.
Laws About Property
28 (Ex 21:32) If an ox gores a man or a woman to death,
then the ox must surely be stoned and its flesh must not be eaten,
but the owner of the ox will be acquitted.
29 But if the ox has had the habit of goring,
and the owner has been made aware of it,
and he has not kept it in, and it has killed a man or a woman,
then the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death.
30 (Ex 21:22; 30:12) If a ransom is set for him, then he shall give
for the ransom of his life whatever is demanded of him.
31 Whether it gored a son or gored a daughter,
it will be done to him according to this rule.
32 (Mt 26:15; Zec 11:12–13) If the ox gores a male servant
or a female servant, then its owner shall give thirty shekels
(About 12 ounces, or 345 grams. ) of silver to their master,
and the ox must be stoned.
33 If a man opens a pit or if a man digs a pit
and does not cover it, and an ox
or a donkey falls into it,
34 the owner of the pit must make restitution.
He must give money to their owner, and the dead animal will be his.
35 If one man's ox hurts another's so that it dies,
then they shall sell the live ox
and divide its proceeds and divide the dead ox also.
36 Or if it be known that the ox has had the habit of goring
and its owner has not kept it in,
then he shall surely pay ox for ox
and the dead animal will become his own.

Harriet Tubman was one of the great American heroes of the 19th century.
Showing remarkable courage, she guided more than three hundred fellow
slaves to freedom after she first escaped slavery by crossing into
free territory in the United States North.
Not content to simply enjoy her own freedom,
she ventured back into slave states nineteen times to lead
friends, family, and strangers to freedom, sometimes guiding
people on foot all the way to Canada.
What drove Tubman to such brave action?
A woman of deep faith, she at one time said this:
"I always told God, I’m going to hold steady on you,
and you've got to see me through."
Her dependence on God's guidance
as she led people out of slavery was a hallmark of her success.
What does it mean to "hold steady" to God?
A verse in the prophecy of Isaiah might help us see that in reality
it's He who holds us as we grab His hand.
Isaiah quotes God, who said, "I am the Lord your God who takes
hold of your right hand and says to you,
Do not fear; I will help you" (41:13).
Harriet held tightly to God, and He saw her through.
What challenges are you facing?
Hold steady to God as He "takes hold" of your hand and your life.
"Do not fear." He will help you.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 6 - Through The Fire
Is 43:2
2 (Ps 66:12; Da 3:25–27) When you pass through waters,
I will be with you.
And through the rivers,
they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame kindle on you.
In the Book of Daniel, 3 young men provide one of the world's best-known
Bible stories. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three of the finest young
men of Israel, were taken into capitivity to Babylon. There King
Nebuchadnezzar, filled with his own importance, commanded that
everyone bow down and worship his image.
When shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship anyone
except the One True god, they were cast into Nebuchadnezzar's
furnace of fire.
Is 43:2 brings their experience into focus for us. There the Lord says,
"When you pass throught the fire ... when you walk through the water ..."
Not if, but when. If we are committed to serving and honouring the Lord,
at some point we will be faced with "passing through the fire" for hm.
We may not face a physical frunace, but we may face the fires of
persecution, anger, hostility or suffering. And God says:
"I will be with you."
When the three young Israelites stepped into the king's furnace, all
the people looked and saw, not three, but four men in the fire, their
bonds burned away, walking freely among the flames. They did not
escape the fate decreed for them. But the Lord was with them in
the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the flood
and the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the
flood and fire tht life brings to us. The promise of god remains:
"I will be with you; the waters will not overflow, nor will the
flames burn you."

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta maoy have a total as hihg as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the legrest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in JEsus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discpleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congreations, and euqally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their
not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.
- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim
in these growing Muslim population centres.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

b) Pray for the Lord to search your life , reveal anything offensive and cleanse you from unrighteousness
( ps 139:24 and see if there is any rebellious way in me,
and lead me in the ancient way.
1: John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Conclusion:
Pray to seek the Lord's will about why the 10 commandments were set up
Pray to seek the Lord's will in your challenges today.
Pray to seek the Lord's during troubled times
Pray to seek the Lord in what your needs are.
Pray to seek the Righteousness of the Lord.
Pray for Muslims in Alberta to receive Christ as Saviour .
Pray for Godly values in Canada and that the politicans will realise
that they are stewart of power.
Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.
Pray to accept Jesus in your life.
