Day 13 - 13 Jan

Day 13 , 13 Jan 2021

Job 38 - 39

Job 38

The Lord Speaks to Job

1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:

2 "Who is this who darkens counsel

by words without knowledge?

3 Prepare yourself like a man;

for I will question you,

and you shall answer Me.

4 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

Declare, if you have understanding.

5 Who has determined its measurements, if you know?

Or who has stretched the line upon it?

6 To what are its foundations fastened?

Or who laid its cornerstone

7 when the morning stars sang together,

and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8 "Or who shut up the sea with doors

when it broke forth and went out of the womb?

9When I made the cloud its garment,

and thick darkness its swaddling band,

10 and broke up for it My decreed place,

and set bars and doors,

11 and said, ‘This far you will come but no farther,

and here your proud waves will be stopped’?

12 "Have you commanded the morning in your days,

and caused the dawn to know its place,

13 that it might take hold of the ends of the earth,

that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

14It is turned like clay by the seal,

and it stands out as a garment.

15 From the wicked their light is withheld,

and the high arm will be broken.

16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea?

Or have you walked in search of the depths?

17 Have the gates of death been opened to you?

Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?

18 Have you perceived the breadth of the earth?

Declare, if you know it all.

19 "Where is the path where light dwells?

And as for darkness, where is its place,

20 that you should take it to its boundary,

and that you should know the paths to its house?

21 Do you know it because you were born then,

or because the number of your days is many?

22 "Have you entered the treasuries of the snow?

Or have you seen the treasuries of the hail,

23 which I have reserved against the time of trouble,

against the day of battle and war?

24 By what way is the light diffused,

or the east wind scattered upon the earth?

25 Who has divided a channel for the overflowing waters,

or a path for the thunderbolt,

26 to cause it to rain on the earth where no man is,

on the wilderness in which there are no people,

27 to satisfy the desolate waste,

and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

28 Does the rain have a father?

Or who has produced the drops of dew?

29 From whose womb came the ice?

And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?

30 The waters harden like stone,

and the surface of the deep is frozen.

31 "Can you tie the cords to the Pleiades

or loosen the belt of Orion?

32 Can you bring out the constellation in its season?

Or can you guide the Bear with its cubs?

33 Do you know the ordinances of heaven?

Can you set their dominion over the earth?

34 "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,

that abundance of waters may cover you?

35 Can you send lightning that they may go forth

and say to you, 'Here we are' ?

36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts,

or who has given understanding to the heart?

37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom?

Or who can empty out the bottles of heaven,

38 when the dust turns into hard clumps

and the clods stick together?

39 "Will you hunt the prey for the lion?

Or fill the appetite of the young lions,

40 when they crouch in their dens

and lie in the thicket to wait in ambush?

41 Who provides for the raven his food

when his young ones cry unto God,

and they wander about for lack of food?

(Similar to Jesus's sermon about Mammon and do not put the Lord your God to the Test)

Job 39

1 "Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats produce offspring?

Or can you observe when the deer gives birth?

2 Can you number the months that they fulfill,

or do you know the time when they bring forth?

3 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones,

they get rid of their labor pains.

4 Their young ones are healthy, they grow strong with grain;

they go forth and do not return to them.

5 "Who has sent out the wild donkey free?

Or who has loosed the bands of the wild donkey,

6 whose home I have made the wilderness,

and the barren land his dwelling?

7 He scorns the multitude in the city

and does not regard the shouts of the driver.

8The range of the mountains is his pasture,

and he searches after every green thing.

9 "Will the wild ox be willing to serve you

or spend the night by your manger?

10 Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?

Or will he plow the valleys behind you?

11 Will you trust him because his strength is great?

Or will you leave your labor to him?

12 Will you trust him to bring home your grain

and gather it into your barn?

13 "Did you give the beautiful wings to the peacocks?

Or wings and feathers to the ostrich,

14 who leaves her eggs in the earth,

and warms them in dust,

15 and forgets that a foot may crush them,

or that the wild beast may break them?

16 She is hardened against her young ones,

as though they were not hers;

her labor is in vain, without concern,

17 because God has deprived her of wisdom,

nor has He imparted understanding to her.

18 When she lifts up herself on high,

she scorns the horse and his rider.

19 "Have you given the horse strength?

Have you clothed his neck with thunder?

20 Can you make him afraid like a grasshopper?

The glory of his nostrils is awesome.

21 He paws in the valley and rejoices in his strength;

he goes on to meet the armed men.

22 He mocks at fear and is not frightened,

nor does he turn back from the sword.

23 The quiver rattles against him,

the glittering spear and the shield.

24 He devours the distance with fierceness and rage,

and he does not stand still at the sound of the trumpet.

25 At the sound of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha’;

he smells the battle afar off,

the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26 "Does the hawk fly by your wisdom,

and stretch her wings toward the south?

27 Does the eagle mount up at your command

and make her nest on high?

28 She dwells and remains on the rock,

upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29 From there she seeks the prey,

and her eyes see it from afar.

30 Her young ones also suck up blood,

and where the slain are, there she is.”

(Thr Lord created everything and knows all)

2) Our Daily Bread for 13 Jan 2021 https://odb.org/CA/2021/01/13/whats-your-song Entitled What's Your Song?

Deut 31:15-22

15 The Lord appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the tent.

16 The Lord said to Moses, "You are about to lie down with your fathers,

and this people will rise up and begin to prostitute themselves after

the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they are going

to be among them, and will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.

17 Then My anger will burn against them on that day, and I will forsake them,

and I will hide My face from them, and they will be devoured, and many disasters

and troubles will befall them, so that they will say in that day,

'Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not among us?'

18 And I will surely hide My face in that day for all the evil things which they shall have done,

in that they turned to other gods.

19 "Now therefore write yourself this song and teach it to the children of Israel.

Put it on their mouths, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel.

20 For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers,

flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten, and filled themselves, and become fat,

then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke Me, and break My covenant.

21 Then when many disasters and troubles have fallen on them, this song will testify

against them as a witness, for it must not be forgotten from the mouths of their descendants.

For I know their intention which they are developing even now,

before I have brought them into the land which I promised."

22 Therefore, Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.

Most Americans knew little about Alexander Hamilton—until 2015,

when Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote his hit musical Hamilton.

Now schoolchildren know Hamilton’s story by heart.

They sing it to each other on the bus and at recess.

He's their favorite founding father.

God knows the power of music, and He told Moses to

"“write down this song and teach it to the Israelites and have them sing it"

(Deuteronomy 31:19). God knew that long after Moses was gone, when He had brought

Israel into the Promised Land, they would rebel and worship other gods.

So He told Moses, "This song will testify against them,

because it will not be forgotten by their descendants" (v. 21).

Songs are nearly impossible to forget, so it’s wise to be selective

about what we sing. Some songs are just for fun, and that’s fine,

but we benefit from songs that boast in Jesus and encourage our faith.

One of the ways we "[make] the most of every opportunity" is when we speak

"to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit."

So "sing and make music from your heart to the Lord" (see Ephesians 5:15–19).

Songs can be an indicator of the direction of our heart.

Do the words make much of Jesus? Do we sing them wholeheartedly?

What we sing will influence what we believe, so choose wisely and sing loudly.

Reflect & Pray

What should you look for in a worship song?

Is there a favorite song you can sing more often? Why?

Father, this song is my prayer to You. (Sing your favorite.)

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace – Day 4 Under the Mercy

Ps 13:5-6

5 I for my part confide in Your kindness;

may my heart exult in Your salvation!

6 I will sing to the Lord,

because He has dealt bountifully withme.

In Sheldon Vanauken's book "A Severe Mercy", Vanauken faced the "severe mercy"

of the untimely death of his wife. His friend C. S. Lewis , who had endured a

similar grief , comforted him through letters,

encouraging him with the exhotation, "Go under the Mercy".

While god's grace deals with sin and forgiveness,

God's mercy deals with the pain pf human existence. We all experience pain

- sometimes as a natural result of wrongs we have done, sometimes unfairly

as a consequence of living in a fallen world. But for all who hurt, God provides

mercy - respite from pain, and the assurance of a Lord who cares.

David , in Psalm 13 says " I trust in your mercy, your unfailing love."

God's love never fail us, no matter how much we may have failed him.

David knew the consequences of sin; he knew what it meant to fail God,

to rebel against God's faithfulness. Yet David trusted in God's Goodness

rather than depending upon his own; he focused his attention upon the

mercy ofthe Lord.

We need, like David, to "Go under the mercy" , even when it is a "severe mercy."

Even when circumstances seem bad; even when things seem out of control; even

when we think God has forsaken us, yet his mercy is at work to bring us

fulfillment and cause us to utrn to him

with a song of praise on our lips.

Application

a) How have I experienced the mercy of God?

b) How can these verses help me focus on God's

merciful intervention in my life even when circumstances seem

out of control?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Proverbs 22:7

7 The rich rules over the poor,

and the borrower is servant to the lender.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are Saddened by Loss

John 14:1 - 7

1 "Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in Me.

2 In My Father's house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you.

I am going to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself,

that where I am, you may be also.

4 You know where I am going, and you know the way."

5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know

where You are going. How can we know the way?"

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth,

and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

From now on you do know Him and have seen Him."

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

a) Pray that, with God's help, children and

young people will be able to journey with hope towards the destiny God has

for each of them

b)Pray for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador

I) Pray for the leaders of Newfoundland and Labrador, that God’s Spirit would influence then to act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards. ( 1 Tim 2:1 – 4 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone, 2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty, 3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

II) Pray for the churches of the province, that they would be lighthouses beaming forth the illuminating truth of God’s Word.

III) Pray that the Lord would use the Finding the Hope Campaign and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus

Day 10: Wear Your Armor

Verse of the Day:

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able

to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11

Satan is a force you will contend with every day and a master at reinventing himself.

There will be times that his approach may be appealing,

his intent is always to "steal and kill and destroy" (John 10:10).

What does he want to destroy? Our peace of mind,

our destiny, our relationships, and much more.

Reflection:

Satan has no place in your life unless you open the door for him.

It is not just a clean heart; we must have a spirit-filled heart as well.

When we break sin in our life, we must replace it with Godly behaviour.

Like the best way to break bad habits is to replace them with good ones.

The best way to defeat Satan is to put Christ on the throne

of our heart, then there's no room for the devil.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, today I claim victory over Satan

by putting on the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth! - May I stand firm in the truth of

Your Word so I will not be a victim of Satan's lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness! - May it guard my heart

from evil so I will remain pure and holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace! - May I stand firm in the Good News of

the Gospel so Your peace will shine through me and be a light to all I encounter.

I take the Shield of Faith! - May I be ready for Satan's fiery darts of doubt,

denial, and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation! - May I keep my mind focused

on You so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit! - May the two-edged sword of Your

Word be ready in my hands so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.

I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory! In Jesus name Amen.

**Prayer by Dr. David Jeremiah

Scripture reflection:

Ephesians 6:10-18,

10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

12 For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace,

16 and above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

1 Thessalonians 5:8,

(Isa 59:17; 1Th 5:5)

But let us, who are of the day,

be sober, putting on the breastplate

of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation

Isaiah 59:17,

17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate

and a helmet of salvation on His head;

He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing

and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

Romans 13:14,

14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God

to the pulling down of strongholds,

5 casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against

the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Conclusion:

Pray to you find the Lord first in your Life.

Pray that your armour in strong and sing to the Lord!

Pray the children to find the lord.

Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.

Pray to accept Jesus in your life
