Day 11 - 11 Jan

Day 10 , 10 Jan 2021

Job 32 - 34

Job 32

Elihu Speaks: Job’s Three Friends Rebuked

1 So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused;

his wrath was aroused against Job because he justified himself rather than God.

3 His wrath was aroused also against his three friends because they had found no answer and yet had condemned Job.

4 Now Elihu had waited until Job had spoken because they were older than he.

5 When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was aroused.

6 Elihu the son of Barakel the Buzite answered:

"I am young,

and you are very old;

therefore I was afraid

and dared not show you my opinion.

7 I said, 'Age should speak,

and multitude of years should teach wisdom.'

8 But there is a spirit in man,

and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

9 Great men are not always wise,

nor do the aged always understand judgment.

10 "Therefore I say,

'Listen to me; I will also declare my opinion.'

11 Indeed, I waited for your words;

I listened to your reasons,

while you searched out what to say.

12 Yes, I paid attention to you;

and surely none of you convinced Job

or answered his words.

13 Lest you say, 'We have found wisdom';

God will subdue him, not man.

14 Now he has not directed his words against me,

so I will not answer him with your speeches.

15 "They are amazed; they answer no more;

they cease speaking.

16 And I have waited,

(for they did not speak, but stood still and answered no more).

17 I said, 'I also will answer my part;

I too will show my opinion.'

18 For I am full of words;

the spirit within me compels me.

19 See, my belly is like wine that has no vent;

it is ready to burst like new wineskins.

20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed;

I will open my lips and answer.

21 Let me not, I pray, show partiality to anyone,

nor let me give flattering titles to man.

22 For I do not know how to give flattering titles;

in so doing my Maker would soon take me away.

(Please be resectful towards your elders)

Job 33

Elihu Addresses Job

1 "Therefore, Job, I pray, hear my speeches,

and listen to all my words.

2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth;

my tongue has spoken in my mouth.

3 My words will be from the uprightness of my heart,

and my lips will utter knowledge clearly.

4 The Spirit of God has made me,

and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

5 If you can answer me,

set your words in order before me; stand up.

6 Surely I am before God like you;

I also am formed out of the clay.

7 Indeed, no dread of me will make you afraid,

nor will my hand be heavy upon you.

8 "Surely you have spoken in my hearing,

and I have heard the sound of your words, saying,

9 'I am clean, without transgression;

I am innocent, nor is there iniquity in me.

10 Behold, He finds occasions against me,

He counts me for His enemy;

11 He puts my feet in the stocks,

He watches all my paths.'

12 "Look, in this you are not just.

I will answer you, that God is greater than man.

13 Why do you strive against Him?

For He does not give an accounting for any of His words.

14 For God speaks once, yes twice,

yet man does not perceive it.

15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,

when deep sleep falls upon men,

in slumber on their beds,

16 then He opens the ears of men,

and seals their instruction,

17 that He might turn aside man from his purpose,

and conceal pride from man.

18 He keeps back his soul from the pit,

and his life from perishing by the sword.

19 "He is also chastened with pain on his bed,

and with strong pain in many of his bones,

20 so that his life abhors bread,

and his soul dainty food.

21 His flesh is consumed away that it cannot be seen,

and his bones that were not seen stick out.

22 Yes, his soul draws near to the grave,

and his life to the executioners.

23 If there is a messenger for him,

an interpreter, one among a thousand,

to show to man what is right for him,

24 then He is gracious to him, and says,

'Deliver him from going down to the pit;

I have found a ransom.'

25 His flesh will be fresher than a child's;

he will return to the days of his youth;

26 he will pray to God, and He will be favorable unto him,

and he will see His face with joy,

for He will render unto man His righteousness.

27 Then he looks at men and says,

'I have sinned and perverted what was right,

and it did not profit me.'

28 He will deliver his soul from going down to the pit,

and his life will see the light.

29 "Behold, God works all these things,

twice, three times with man,

30 to bring back his soul from the pit,

to be enlightened with the light of the living.

31 "Pay attention, Job, listen to me;

hold your peace, and I will speak.

32 If you have anything to say, answer me;

speak, for I desire to justify you.

33 If not, listen to me; hold your peace,

and I will teach you wisdom."

Job 34

Elihu Proclaims God’s Justice

1 Furthermore Elihu answered and said:

2 "Hear my words, O you wise men;

and give ear unto me, you that have knowledge.

3 For the ear tests words,

as the mouth tastes food.

4 Let us choose justice for ourselves;

let us know among ourselves what is good.

5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous,

but God has taken away my judgment.

6 Should I lie concerning my right?

My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'

7 What man is like Job,

who drinks scorn like water,

8 who goes in company with the workers of iniquity

and walks with wicked men?

9 For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing

that he should delight himself in God.'

10 "Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:

Far be it from God that He should do wickedness,

and from the Almighty that He should commit iniquity.

11 He will repay a man for his work,

and cause every man to find what is according to his ways.

12 Yes, surely God will not do wickedly,

nor will the Almighty pervert judgment.

13 Who has given Him charge over the earth?

Or who has set in order the whole world?

14 If He sets His heart on man,

if He gathers unto Himself His Spirit and His breath,

15 all flesh will perish together,

and man will turn again to dust.

16 "If now you have understanding, hear this;

listen to the voice of my words:

17 Should he who hates justice govern?

And will you condemn Him who is most just?

18 Is it fitting to say to a king, ‘You are wicked’?

And to princes, 'You are ungodly'?

19 Yet He is not partial to princes,

nor does He regard the rich more than the poor.

For they all are the work of His hands.

20 In a moment they will die,

and the people will be troubled at midnight and pass away,

and the mighty will be taken away without a hand.

21 "For His eyes are upon the ways of man,

and He sees all his goings.

22 There is no darkness nor shadow of death

where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

23 For He will not lay upon man more than right,

that he should enter into judgment with God.

24 He will break in pieces mighty men without number,

and set others in their place.

25 Therefore He knows their works,

and He overturns them in the night

so that they are destroyed.

26 He strikes them as wicked men

in the open sight of others,

27 because they turned back from Him

and would not consider any of His ways,

28 so that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto Him;

and He hears the cry of the afflicted.

29 When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?

And when He hides His face, who then can behold Him,

whether it is done against a nation or against a man only?

30 That the hypocrite should not reign,

lest the people be ensnared.

31 "Should anyone say to God,

'I have borne chastisement, I will offend no more;

32 teach me what I do not see;

if I have done iniquity, I will do no more'?

33 Should it be according to your mind?

He will repay it, whether you refuse or whether you choose,

and not I; therefore speak what you know.

34 "Let men of understanding say to me,

wise men who listen to me:

35 'Job has spoken without knowledge,

and his words were without wisdom.'

36 My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end,

because he answers like wicked men.

37 For he adds rebellion unto his sin;

he claps his hands among us,

and multiplies his words against God."

(But show some more respect to your elders)

2) Our Daily Bread for 11 Jan 2021 https://odb.org/CA/2021/01/11/lift-up-your-eyes-2 Entitled Lift Up Your Eyes

A Song of Ascents.

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills,

from where does my help come?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip;

He who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, He who guards Israel

shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your guardian;

the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

6 The sun shall not harm you during the day,

nor the moon during the night.

7 The Lord shall protect you from all evil;

He shall preserve your soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in

from now and for evermore.

The clouds hung low, blocking the horizon and limiting visibility to only a few hundred yards.

The minutes dragged on. The effect on my mood was noticeable.

But then, as afternoon approached, the clouds began to break,

and I saw it: beautiful Pikes Peak, the most recognizable landmark of my city,

flanked on each side by the mountain range. A smile broke over my face.

I considered that even our physical perspective—our literal line of sight—can affect our spiritual vision.

And I was reminded of the psalmist singing, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains" (Psalm 121:1).

Sometimes we simply need to lift our eyes a bit higher!

The psalmist pondered where his help came from, maybe because the hilltops

around Israel were dotted with altars to pagan gods and often contained robbers.

Or it could have been because the psalmist looked up beyond the hills to Mount Zion

where the temple stood and remembered that the Maker of heaven

and earth was his covenant God (v. 2). Either way, to worship we must look up.

We have to lift our eyes higher than our circumstances,

higher than our troubles and trials,

higher than the empty promises of the false gods of our day.

Then we can see the Creator and Redeemer, the One who calls us by name.

He’s the One who will "watch over your coming and going" today and forevermore (v. 8-).

By: Glenn Packiam

Reflect & Pray

How can you "look up" today—beyond your circumstances—to see God?

What would it look like to call upon Him for the help you really need?

Dear Father, thank You that You’re the Creator and Keeper—the One who made the heavens and the earth and watches over me.

Help me to lift my eyes higher to see You and to put my trust in You.

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace – Day 2 The Wardrobe of Joy Isaiah 61:10

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

my soul shall be joyful in my God;

for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

On her wedding day, the bride dresses carefully for the ceremony

that is about to take place. Never before has she spent so much time in preparation

for one relatively brief event. When she

looks in the mirror and rejoices in her happiness, she responds not out of vanity,

but for sheer joy as she anticipates the coming ceremeny.

God wants his people, lie that bride to be joyful, to rejoice in the Lord,

the Bridegroom. And he gives, through his grace, the garments of joy to his beloved ones.

He clothes us, Isaiah says, with salvation, and covers us with the robe of righteousness.

The wardrobe that God provides is not merely a utility garment, a coverall that hides

our sin from his eyes. It is his own righteousness in Christ,

given to us as a free gift, so that we might be united with him. And God himself, Isaiah says,

is filled with joy, adorning himself like a bridegroom.

When we truly see God's immeasurable gift in accepting us as him own, we also will

"greatly rejoice" in the Lord. He, the eternal god, Creator of the universe, desires to be

united with us, as a husband desires his wife! God does not simply accept us grudgingly,

reminding us of our unworthiness to be with him. Rather, he celbrates with unrestained joy

his oneness in Spirit with those he cals his own. And we, having been fully forgiven

and set free from sin, can rejoice unashamedly as well.

Application

a) Have I ever felt ashamed to draw close to God? Why?

b) What does this verse tell me about God's attitude towards me?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Ps 37:25-26

25 I have been young, and now am old;

yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,

nor their offspring begging bread.

26 The righteous are gracious and lend,

and their offspring are a source of blessing.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are ill or injured

Matthew 8:14-17

The Healing of Many People

Mk 1:29–34; Lk 4:38–41

14 When Jesus entered Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother, lying sick with a fever.

15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she rose and served them.

16 When the evening came, they brought to Him many who were possessed with demons.

And He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all who were sick,

17 to fulfill what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet,

“He Himself took our infirmities

and bore our sicknesses.”

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

7) Prayers for the nation (Canada) coming from Prayer map of Canada

11th Day of the Month

a) Pray for God's name to be glorified in you life, home, neighbourhood,

city or community, and in Canada.

(

Ps 86:12

12 I will give You thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart,

and I will glorify Your name forever.

John 12:28

28 "Father, glorify Your name."

Then a voice came from heaven, saying, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again."

)

b) Pray for the province of New Brunswick

I) Pray for the leaders of New Brunswick, that God's Spirit would influence then to act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards. ( 1 Tim 2:1 – 4 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone, 2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty, 3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

II) Pray for the churches of the province, that they would be lighthouses beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

III) Pray that the Lord would use the Finding the Hope Campaign and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus

8-) This month Calvarycommunity.ca is doing 21 days of Fasting and prayer available at

Day 8: Breakthrough Can Happen

Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 10:4

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

Some breakthroughs are achieved relatively quickly; others require

long, determined resolution in prayer but either way, breakthroughs

require determination and faith. Remember spiritual breakthroughs

are not achieved at all without prayer.

It's time for you to prepare your heart for what God wants to do. It's

time for you to birth your assignment. It's time for God to target your

children for His plan. It's time for you to see that miracle of provision come to you!

It's time for you to fast and pray, Concentrated, specific, persistent,

prevailing prayer, and fasting. Do not forget that

Jesus said "when" we fast not "if" we fast.

Reflection:

Get ready the time for breakthrough is coming, as you

fast and pray, you will conquer the things that have been conquering you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will work on my life.

I pray that Your Holy Spirit will direct me into the wonderful

things you have in store for me. I pray for a supernatural breakthrough

so that I may begin to see victory and breakthrough at work in my life.

I pray that You will help me see all the amazing things you are doing in my life.

I pray that I remember today that nothing is impossible for me in

Christ’s will because I am in Christ, and through Him, I can do all things.

Lord, I pray that You help me to make wise decisions and lead me

along the best path for my life. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

Scripture reflection:

Isaiah 54:17,

17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper,

and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

and their vindication is from Me,

says the Lord.

Micah 2:13,

13 He who breaks through has gone up before them;

they will break through and pass the gate and go out by it.

Then their king will pass on before them,

the Lord at their head.

Revelations 7:17

17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne

will shepherd them

and 'He will lead them to springs of living water.'

'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'"

Conclusion:

Pray to you find wisdom in the Lord

Pray to Lord about his majesty.

Thank the Lord he Looks over you

Pray that you will join the Lord in Heaven.

Pray for sick and the need for healing.

Pray without ceasing.

Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.

Pray to accept Jesus in your life
