Job’s Final Defense

and when by His light I walked through darkness;

when the friendly counsel of God was over my tent;

3 Now Elimelek, the husband of Naomi, died, so she was left alone with her two sons.
4 (Mt 1:5)They took Moabite wives for themselves; the name of one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth.
They lived there about ten years.
5 Then Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.
20 (Job 6:4) But she said to them, "Do not call me Naomi. Call me Mara, because the Almighty has brought great bitterness to me.
21 (Job 1:21) I was full when I left, but the Lord has caused me to return empty. Why should you call me Naomi when the Lord has opposed me? The Almighty has brought misfortune upon me!"

31 (Col 3:8; Ecc 7:9; Col 3:19)
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outbursts, and blasphemies, with all malice, be taken away from you.
When Rebecca's brother and sister-in-law started having marriage problems,
Rebecca prayed earnestly for their reconciliation. But they divorced.
Then her sister-in-law took the children out of state and their dad didn't protest.
Rebecca never again saw the nieces she dearly loved. Years later she said,
"Because of trying to handle this sadness on my own,
I let a root of bitterness start in my heart,
and it began to spread to my family and friends."
The book of Ruth tells about a woman named Naomi who struggled with a heart of grief that grew into bitterness.
Her husband died in a foreign land, and ten years later both her sons died.
She was left destitute with her daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah (1:3–5).
When Naomi and Ruth returned to Naomi's home country,
the whole town was excited to see them.
But Naomi told her friends: "The Almighty has made my life very bitter. . . . The Lord has afflicted me" (vv. 20–21).
She even asked them to call her 'Mara,'" meaning bitter.
Who hasn't faced disappointment and been tempted toward bitterness?
Someone says something hurtful, an expectation isn't met,
or demands from others make us resentful. When we acknowledge to ourselves and God what's
happening deep in our hearts, our tender Gardener can help us dig up any roots of
bitterness—whether they're still small or have been growing for years—and can replace them with a sweet, joyful spirit.
Reflect & Pray
What areas of life do you tend to become bitter about? What's growing inside your heart that needs God's loving care?
God, help me to see the goodness in life You're always displaying. And dig up any root of bitterness in my heart that dishonors You.

In the old Days of Television Western, we could always tell who the enemy was. The bad
guys wore black hats; the evil villain had a scar across
his cheek or a patch over one eye. But real life is
not quite so simple . Emenies come in many forms, and often are not easy to
recognise. Sin is an enemy; even those we love can seek to undermine our faith;
modern meterialism and distorted values lead us away from biblical principles.
These enemies may not seek our death in a physical sense,
but their influence results in spritual death or, at the very least,
immaturity.
Yet God promises to rescue us from our enemies. David describes the Lord as a
"rock", a "shield", a "stronghold", and a "refuge". God provides a stable foundation
for our faith; he products us from the attacks of the enemy; he offers a place
of rest in battle.
Our battles are usually not physical ones, but rather spiritual and emotional wars.
We struggle with difficult relationships, the burdens of the past, the subtle accusations
of the devil.
But these enemies can be overcome. David says, "I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise" .
When we turn to the Lord, trust his Word, acknowledge his
worthiness, we put our own problems and difficulties in perspective. We see that God is able
to rescue us, and has promised to do so. And as we resond to his grace by focusing
on him, we abandon trust in ourselves and allow him to do what he promised.

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493
British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.
Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver
and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations
in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are
between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all
other nationalities.
Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant
and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,
Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this
region is about 200000.
Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,
more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small
numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.
We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.
A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,
for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that
- the church will catch a vision to pray,
and a burden to train outreach to Muslims
- the church will press in to participate in effective
discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Day 7: God can Use Your Prayers
Verse of the Day: Phil 2:13
13 (Heb 13:21; Ezr 1:5)For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
Sometimes we believe that we need to be a perfect person of prayer to be useful.
You don't need to have the right spiritual language;
you don't need to say the perfect prayer.
What is needed is YOU!
Someone willing to enter into a conversation with God,
saying I am willing. God the Father will release the work of Jesus through our prayers.
Reflection:
He wants our prayers because He has chosen to do
much of His work on earth through the church and His children.
What is God calling you to pray about?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your guidance and forgive me
for when I get ahead of You. I ask You Lord to help me to know how to pray.
Lead me in my time with You, lead me to Your truth.
Father, thank you for leading me in my prayers and teach me how to listen to You as well.
I pray that I will be sensitive to Your voice and know it when I hear it.

Pray to Let the Lord help you to understand the

Pray to banish bitterness in your life.
Pray that you can Discern Good from Evil.
Pray to know the Lord's will as His Will does not return void.
Pray for sick and the need for healing.
Remember God will always use your prayers.
Pray for forgiveness of sins and repentance.

When Rebecca's brother and sister-in-law started having marriage problems,
Rebecca prayed earnestly for their reconciliation. But they divorced.
Then her sister-in-law took the children out of state and their dad didn't protest.
Rebecca never again saw the nieces she dearly loved. Years later she said,
"Because of trying to handle this sadness on my own,
I let a root of bitterness start in my heart,
and it began to spread to my family and friends."
The book of Ruth tells about a woman named Naomi who struggled with a heart of grief that grew into bitterness.
Her husband died in a foreign land, and ten years later both her sons died.
She was left destitute with her daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah (1:3–5).
When Naomi and Ruth returned to Naomi's home country,
the whole town was excited to see them.
But Naomi told her friends: "The Almighty has made my life very bitter. . . . The Lord has afflicted me" (vv. 20–21).
She even asked them to call her 'Mara,'" meaning bitter.
Who hasn't faced disappointment and been tempted toward bitterness?
Someone says something hurtful, an expectation isn't met,
or demands from others make us resentful. When we acknowledge to ourselves and God what's
happening deep in our hearts, our tender Gardener can help us dig up any roots of
bitterness—whether they're still small or have been growing for years—and can replace them with a sweet, joyful spirit.
Reflect & Pray
What areas of life do you tend to become bitter about? What's growing inside your heart that needs God's loving care?
God, help me to see the goodness in life You're always displaying. And dig up any root of bitterness in my heart that dishonors You.

and I am saved from my enemies.
In the old Days of Television Western, we could always tell who the enemy was. The bad
guys wore black hats; the evil villain had a scar across
his cheek or a patch over one eye. But real life is
not quite so simple . Emenies come in many forms, and often are not easy to
recognise. Sin is an enemy; even those we love can seek to undermine our faith;
modern meterialism and distorted values lead us away from biblical principles.
These enemies may not seek our death in a physical sense,
but their influence results in spritual death or, at the very least,
immaturity.
Yet God promises to rescue us from our enemies. David describes the Lord as a
"rock", a "shield", a "stronghold", and a "refuge". God provides a stable foundation
for our faith; he products us from the attacks of the enemy; he offers a place
of rest in battle.
Our battles are usually not physical ones, but rather spiritual and emotional wars.
We struggle with difficult relationships, the burdens of the past, the subtle accusations
of the devil.
But these enemies can be overcome. David says, "I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise" .
When we turn to the Lord, trust his Word, acknowledge his
worthiness, we put our own problems and difficulties in perspective. We see that God is able
to rescue us, and has promised to do so. And as we resond to his grace by focusing
on him, we abandon trust in ourselves and allow him to do what he promised.

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.
Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver
and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations
in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are
between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all
other nationalities.
Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant
and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,
Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this
region is about 200000.
Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,
more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small
numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.
We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.
A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,
for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that
- the church will catch a vision to pray,
and a burden to train outreach to Muslims
- the church will press in to participate in effective
discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Day 7: God can Use Your Prayers
Verse of the Day: Phil 2:13
13 (Heb 13:21; Ezr 1:5)For God is the One working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
Sometimes we believe that we need to be a perfect person of prayer to be useful.
You don't need to have the right spiritual language;
you don't need to say the perfect prayer.
What is needed is YOU!
Someone willing to enter into a conversation with God,
saying I am willing. God the Father will release the work of Jesus through our prayers.
Reflection:
He wants our prayers because He has chosen to do
much of His work on earth through the church and His children.
What is God calling you to pray about?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your guidance and forgive me
for when I get ahead of You. I ask You Lord to help me to know how to pray.
Lead me in my time with You, lead me to Your truth.
Father, thank you for leading me in my prayers and teach me how to listen to You as well.
I pray that I will be sensitive to Your voice and know it when I hear it.

Remember God will always use your prayers.
