Day 113, 23 Apr 2023

Today at

Calvary Community Church
. pastor Doug Zeiber

spoke on He is Risen- Now What? A New Identity.

We have a New Identity in Christ (outwards and Inwards)

A Witness Statement 1 Corinthians 15:3-8

3 (1Pe 2:24; 1Co 11:23; Gal 1:4) For I delivered to you first of all

that which I also received: how Christ died for our sins according

to the Scriptures,

4 (Ps 16:10-11; Hos 6:2) was buried, rose again the third day

according to the Scriptures,

5 (Mk 16:14; Ac 10:41) and was seen by Cephas, and then by the twelve.

6 (Ac 7:60; 1Co 15:18) Then He was seen by over five hundred brothers

at once, of whom the greater part remain to this present time,

though some have passed away.

7 (Lk 24:50) Then He was seen by James and then by all the apostles.

8 (1Co 9:1; Ac 9:17) Last of all, He was seen by me also,

as by one born at the wrong time.

[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how

that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

[4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according

to the scriptures:

[5] And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

[6] After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom

the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

[7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

[8] And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

A) That Christ die for our sins - meaning he took on the cross, the

guilt , shame, baggage, brokenness that people carry their whole lives.

B) He was Buried

C) He was resurrected

D) There were hundreds of witnesses including Paul!

2 Corinthians 5:15-17

15 (Ro 14:7-9) And He died for all, that those who live should not from

now on live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

16 (Php 3:7-8) So from now on we do not regard anyone according to the flesh.

Yes, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet we do not

regard Him as such from now on.

17 (Jn 3:3; Ro 16:7) Therefore, if any man is in Christ,

he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have

become new.

[15] And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth

live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

[16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we

have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

[17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are

passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A fresh start

1 Corinthians 6:17

17 (Jn 17:21-23) But he who is joined to the Lord becomes

one spirit with Him.

[17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

John 1:12

12 Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God,

to those who believed in His name,

[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the

sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Benefits of a New Identity

A new Family

- means you are adopted into His family!

Romans 8:14-15

14 (Gal 5:18; Rev 21:7) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,

these are the sons of God.

15 (Mk 14:36; 1Co 2:12) For you have not received the spirit of slavery

again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom

we cry, “Abba, Father.”

[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

[15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye

have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

- means you are chosen and loved

Ephesians 1:4

4 (Eph 5:27; Col 1:22) just as He chose us in Him before the foundation

of the world, to be holy and blameless before Him in love;

[4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the

world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

- means you are forgiven and redeemed

New location - A Heavenly Perspective

2 Peter 1:11

11 For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord

and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided for you.

[11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the

everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8

8 (Eph 2:5; Mk 16:16) For by grace you have been saved through faith,

and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God,

[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it

is the gift of God:

Romans 8:28

28 (Gal 1:15; Ge 50:20) We know that all things work together for good

to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

[28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love

God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

New Power - including Authority over the demonic realm

Ephesians 1:19-23

19 (Col 1:29; Eph 3:7) and what is the surpassing greatness of His power

toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,

20 (Mk 16:19; Ps 110:1) which He performed in Christ when He raised Him

from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 (Col 2:10; Heb 1:4) far above all principalities, and power, and might,

and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age

but also in that which is to come.

22 (1Co 11:3; Mt 16:18) And He put all things in subjection under His feet

and made Him the head over all things for the church,

23 (Jn 1:16; Eph 3:19) which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills

all things in all ways.

[19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe,

according to the working of his mighty power,

[20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set

him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

[21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and

every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is

to come:

[22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head

over all things to the church,

[23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

New Power - Healing in body, soul and spirit

1 Peter 2:24

24 (Ro 6:2; 6:11) He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree,

that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness.

"By His wounds you were healed."(Isa 53:5).

[24] Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,

being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were

healed.

3 John 2

2 Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you

and that you may be in good health, even as your soul is well.

[2] Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in

health, even as thy soul prospereth.

The Cost of (And obstacles to) our new identity

1 Peter 1:14-16

14 (Ro 12:2; Ac 17:30) As obedient children do not conduct yourselves

according to the former lusts in your ignorance.

15 (2Co 7:1; Heb 12:14) But as He who has called you is holy, so be holy

in all your conduct,

16 (Lev 11:44; 19:2) because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

(Lev 11:44; 19:2; 20:7.)

[14] As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former

lusts in your ignorance:

[15] But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of

conversation;

[16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Ephesians 4:21-24

21 (Eph 1:13) if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him,

as the truth is in Jesus:

22 (Ro 6:6; Heb 3:13) that you put off the former way of life in the old

nature, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

23 (Ro 12:2; Col 3:10) and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 (Ro 6:4; Eph 2:10) and that you put on the new nature,

which was created according to God in righteousness and true holiness.

[21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the

truth is in Jesus:

[22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which

is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

[23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

[24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in

righteousness and true holiness.

Walk in our new identity

Ephesians 4:30-32

30 (1Th 5:19; Isa 63:10; Ro 8:23) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,

in whom you are sealed for the day of redemption.

31 (Col 3:8; Ecc 7:9; Col 3:19) Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outbursts,

and blasphemies, with all malice, be taken away from you.

32 (2Co 2:10; Col 3:12-13; Mt 6:12) And be kind one to another,

tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ

also forgave you.

[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the

day of redemption.

[31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil

speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,

even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

In closing,

I) Embrace the new identity Christ has for your life

II) Be Intentional

III) Have a plan.

Sons of Simeon

Jos 19:2-10

24 (Ge 46:10) The sons of Simeon were

Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul,

25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.

26 The sons of Mishma were

Hammuel his son, Zakkur his son, and Shimei his son.

27 (Nu 2:4; 2:13) Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters,

but his brothers did not have many sons, nor did all their family

multiply as much as the sons of Judah.

28 (Jos 19:2-3) Now they dwelt in Beersheba, Moladah, and Hazar Shual

29 (Jos 19:3,4) as well as in Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, 30Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

31 (Jos 19:5-6) Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and Shaaraim.

These were their cities until the reign of David.

32 Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan,

five cities in all,

33 (Jos 19:8) and all the villages that were around these cities

as far as Baal.

Such are their inhabited cities, and those registered to them were

34 Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;

35 Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;

36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah;

37 Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah,

the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.

38 These mentioned by name were leaders in their families,

and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 (Jos 15:58; 1Ch 4:4) They went to the entrance of Gedor,

as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks

40 (Jdg 18:7-10) There they found rich, good pasture,

and the land was wide, quiet, and peaceful;

for former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.

41 In the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, those written by name came

and attacked their tents, along with the Meunites who were found there,

and utterly destroyed them until this day. Then they dwelt there

in their place because there was pasture for their flocks there.

42 (Ge 36:8-9) Now some of them, namely five hundred men

from the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah,

Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their captains.

43 (1Sa 30:17; 15:7-8) Then they struck down the rest of the Amalekites

who had escaped. So they have dwelt there until this day.

[24] The sons of Simeon were, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul:

[25] Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

[26] And the sons of Mishma; Hamuel his son, Zachur his son, Shimei his son.

[27] And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not

many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children

of Judah.

[28] And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual,

[29] And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,

[30] And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

[31] And at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-birei, and at

Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.

[32] And their villages were, Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan,

five cities:

[33] And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto

Baal. These were their habitations, and their genealogy.

[34] And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,

[35] And Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of

Asiel,

[36] And Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and

Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

[37] And Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the

son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah;

[38] These mentioned by their names were princes in their families: and the

house of their fathers increased greatly.

[39] And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the

valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

[40] And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet,

and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelt there of old.

[41] And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah,

and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and

destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because

there was pasture there for their flocks.

[42] And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to

mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah,

and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

[43] And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt

there unto this day.

1 CHRONICLES 5

Sons of Reuben

1 (Ge 29:32; 35:22) Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel

(for he was the firstborn, but since he defiled his father's bed,

his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel,

so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;

2 (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:6; Ge 49:8-10 ) though Judah prevailed

over his brothers and a ruler came from him,

yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),

3 (Ge 46:9; Ex 6:14; Nu 26:5-9) the sons of Reuben the firstborn

of Israel were Hanok, Pallu, Hezron, and Karmi.

4 The sons of Joel were

Shemaiah his son, Gog his son,

Shimei his son,

5 Micah his son,

Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

6 (1Ch 5:26) and Beerah his son, whom

Tiglath--Pileser the king of Assyria led into exile.

He was a leader of the Reubenites.

7 (1Ch 5:1) 7His brothers according to their families

by the registration of their generations were

Jeiel, the first, and Zechariah;

8 (Nu 32:34; 32:38) Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel,

who dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo and Baal Meon.

9 (Jos 22:8-9) And he dwelt toward the east as far as the entrance

to the wilderness from the Euphrates,

for their cattle were abundant in the land of Gilead.

10 Now in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites,

who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents over

all the eastern plains of Gilead.

[1] Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the

firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was

given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to

be reckoned after the birthright.

[2] For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler;

but the birthright was Joseph's:)

[3] The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hannoch, and

Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

[4] The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

[5] Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,

[6] Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away

captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

[7] And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their

generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

[8] And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt

in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon:

[9] And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from

the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of

Gilead.

[10] And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by

their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of

Gilead.

Sons of Gad

11 (Jos 13:11; 13:24-28) The sons of Gad dwelt opposite

them in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah.

12 Joel was the first, Shapham the second,

with Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.

13 Their brothers of their father's house were

Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia, and Eber, seven in all.

14 These are the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah,

the sonof Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai,

the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni,

was the head of their father's house.

16 (1Ch 27:29; SS 2:1) They dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns,

and in all the outlands of Sharon to the edge of their borders.

17 (2Ki 14:16; 14:28) All of them were registered by genealogy in the days

of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18 (Nu 1:3) The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites,

and the half-tribe of Manasseh numbered 44760 valiant men,

men able to bear shield and sword, to shoot with a bow,

and who were skillful in battle, who went to war.

19 (Ge 25:15; 1Ch 1:31) They made war with the Hagrites, namely Jetur,

Naphish, and Nodab.

20 (2Ch 18:31; Ps 20:7-8) They were helped against them,

and the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand,

for they cried to God in the battle, and He heard their prayer

because they trusted in Him.

21 They captured their livestock: fifty thousand of their camels,

two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys,

and one hundred thousand men.

22 (2Ki 15:29; 17:6) So many fell slain, because the war was of God.

And they dwelt in their place until the exile.

[11] And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan

unto Salchah:

[12] Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in

Bashan.

[13] And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and

Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

[14] These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah,

the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of

Jahdo, the son of Buz;

[15] Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their

fathers.

[16] And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the

suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

[17] All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of

Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

[18] The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of

valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and

skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore,

that went out to the war.

[19] And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and

Nodab.

[20] And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered

into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the

battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

[21] And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of

sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men

an hundred thousand.

[22] For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they

dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

The Half-Tribe of Manasseh

23 (Dt 3:8-9; SS 4:8) The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh also dwelt

in the land. They increased from Bashan as far as Baal Hermon and Senir,

even to Mount Hermon.

24 These were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel,

Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, men of reputation,

and heads of their fathers' houses.

25 (Ex 34:15) They were unfaithful to the God of their fathers

and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land,

whom God had wiped out before them.

26 (2Ki 15:19; 17:6) So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul

the king of Assyria, even the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria,

and he led the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh

into exile and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan

to this day.

[23] And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they

increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.

[24] And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and

Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty

men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.

[25] And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a

whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before

them.

[26] And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and

the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away,

even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and

brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto

this day.

2) Our Daily Bread for 23 April 2023 titled

Loving Like Jesus

1 John 3:11-18

Love One Another

11 (1Jn 1:5; 2Jn 1:5) For this is the message that you heard

from the beginning: We should love one another,

12 (Heb 11:4; Jude 1:11) not like Cain, who was of the wicked one

and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him?

Because his own works were evil, and his brother's works were righteous.

13 (Jn 17:14; 15:18-19) Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.

14 (Jn 5:24; 1Jn 5:2) We know that we have passed from death to life,

because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love his brother remains

in death.

15 (Mt 5:21-22; Rev 21:8) Whoever hates his brother is a murderer,

and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.

16 (Php 2:17; Jn 3:16) By this we know the love of God: that He laid down

His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

17 (1Jn 4:20; Heb 13:16) Whoever has the world's goods and sees

his brother in need, but closes his heart of compassion from him,

how can the love of God remain in him?

18 (1Jn 2:1; Ro 12:9) My little children, let us love not in word

and speech, but in action and truth.

[11] For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we

should love one another.

[12] Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And

wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's

righteous.

[13] Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

[14] We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the

brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

[15] Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no

murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for

us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

[17] But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and

shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God

in him?

[18] My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in

deed and in truth.

While waiting for a train at a station in Atlanta, Georgia, a young man

wearing dress pants and a button-down shirt sat on a bench. As he struggled

with his tie, an older woman encouraged her husband to help. When the

elderly man hunched over and began teaching the young man how to knot the

tie, a stranger took a photo of the trio. When this photo went viral online,

many viewers left comments about the power of random acts of kindness.

For believers in Jesus, kindness to others reflects the self-sacrificing

care that He showed for people like us. It’s an expression of God's love and

what He desired His disciples to live out: "We should love one another" (1

John 3:11 emphasis added). John equates hating a brother or sister to murder

(v. 15). Then he turns to Christ as an example of love in action (v. 16).

It doesn't have to be an extravagant display of sacrifice. Selfless love

simply requires us to acknowledge the value of all God's image-bearers by

placing their needs above our own . . . every day. Those seemingly ordinary

moments when we care enough to notice the needs of others and do what we can

to help are selfless when we're motivated by love. When we see beyond our

personal space, step out of our comfort zones to serve others, and give

-especially when we don't have to give-we're loving like Jesus.

When have you experienced selfless love from someone?

How can you love others selflessly this week?

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 4 - The Blessings of Grace Day 1 - The Joy of Confessing Christ

Romans 10:9-10

9 (Lk 12:8; Php 2:11)that if you confess with your mouth

Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from

the dead, you will be saved,

10 for with the heart one believes unto righteousness,

and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

Teena, a college freshman, has just committed her life to Christ,

but she was apprehensive about telling anyone - until Bill appeared

on the scene. He plunked his coffee cup down on the table and smiled.

"I heard something exciting happened to you yesterday, Teena"

"Yeah", Teena paused and looked around, as if seeking an escape route.

"I , uh, well, I did it"

"Did what?"

"Well, I, ah, gave my life to God."

"That's wonderful!" Bill exclaimed.

He was still talking with Teena and encouraging he in her decision

when Maria walked by.

"Maria!" Bill called. "Teena wants to tell you something!"

Teena gasped , open-mouthed, then stammered,

" I - I committed my life to Christ."

Maria , similarly enthuasiatic, encouraged Teena in her commitment,

and within half an hour Teena was stopping her friends to tell them,

"Guess what? I've become a Christian! I belng to Jesus now!"

Teena had already surrendered her heart to Christ.

But when she confessed her decision aloud to others,

the truth of that transformation was confirmed by her.

Many of us have been raised to believe that 'faith is a private matter',

not to be discussed in polite company. Yet Paul makes clear the connection

between heart commitment and verbal confession. Just as my love for family

and friends deepens as I tell them I love them, so a person's love

for Christ is confirmed and stabilised

by speaking of that commitment to others.

Application

a) Have I been reluctant to tell others of my faith in Christ? Why?

b) What happens within me when I do tell others of my love for the Lord?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Genesis 30:43

The man became exceedingly prosperous and had many sheep

and female servants and male servants and camels and donkeys.

And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle,

and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are anxious

Phil 4:4-7

4 (Php 3:1; Ro 12:12 Rejoice in the Lord always.

Again I will say, rejoice!

5 (Jas 5:8-9) Let everyone come to know your gentleness.

The Lord is at hand.

6 (Eph 6:18; Mt 6:25-33) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything,

by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known

to God.

7 (Jn 14:27; Col 3:15; Isa 26:3) And the peace of God, which surpasses

all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication

with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,

shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2022 edition?)

Manitoba

Quick facts on Muslims in Manitoba

Manitoba 2015 population 1 282 000

est Muslim Population 21 349

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very

diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting

it might be twice that size.

Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size

of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.

Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth

of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.

We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers

among Muslims in Winnipeg.

Let us intercede in unity for:

- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population

- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim

communities around them, as well as training new workers

- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim

background believers and for effectiveness in outreach

- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground

in the face of opposition to her new faith.

- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged

with great support

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .
