2 Samuel 22
David's Song of Deliverance
Ps 18:1-50
1 (Ex 15:1; Jdg 5:1) Now on the day the Lord delivered him from the hand
of all of his enemies and from the hand of Saul,
David spoke to the Lord the words of this song.
2 (Ps 31:3; 71:3)He said:
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3 (Ge 15:1; Ps 9:9) the God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my fortress and my sanctuary;
my Savior, You save me from violence.
4 (Ps 48:1; 96:4) I call upon the Lord, who is praiseworthy,
and I am saved from my enemies.
5 (Ps 69:14-15; Jnh 2:3) When the waves of death encompassedme,
the currents of destruction made me afraid.
6 (Ps 116:3) The ropes of Sheol were wrapped around me;
the snares of death were opposite me.
7 (Ps 116:4; 120:1) In my distress I called on the Lord,
and cried out to my God;
from His temple He heard my voice.
My cry reached His ears.
8 (Jdg 5:4; Job 26:11) Then the earth quaked and trembled;
the foundations of the heavens rumbled and shook,
because He was angry.
9 (Heb 12:29) Smoke rose from His nostrils,
devouring fire from His mouth;
coals blazed forth from Him.
10 (1Ki 8:12; Ps 97:2 )He bowed the heaven as He came down,
with thick darkness under His feet.
11 (Ps 104:3 ) He rode upon a cherub as He flew,
and appeared upon the wings of the wind.
12 (2Sa 22:10) He made darkness canopies around Him,
dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
13 (2Sa 22:9) From the brightness before Him
embers of fire are kindled.
14 (1Sa 2:10; Job 37:2-5) The Lord thundered from heaven,
and the Most High uttered His voice.
15 (Dt 32:23; Jos 10:10) He sent out arrows and dispersed them;
with lightning He sent them into confusion.
16 (Na 1:4) The channels of the sea appeared,
the foundations of the world were exposed
with the rebuke of the Lord,
from the blast of breath from His nostrils.
17 (Ps 144:7) He reached from on high and took me;
He drew me out of mighty waters.
18 He rescued me from my strong enemy,
from those who hate me;
for they were stronger than I.
19 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the Lord was my support.
20 (2Sa 15:26; Ps 31:8) He brought me to the open expanse;
He rescued me, for He delighted inme.
21 (1Sa 26:23; Ps 24:4) The Lord did for me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands He recompensed me.
22 (Ge 18:19; Pr 8:32) For I have kept the ways of the Lord,
and I have not become guilty against my God.
23 (Ps 119:30; 119:102) For all His judgments are before me,
and I have not abandoned His statutes.
24 (Ge 6:9; 17:1) I am blameless toward Him,
and I have kept myself from guilt.
25 (2Sa 22:21) The Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness,
according to my cleanness in His sight.
26 (Mt 5:7) With the faithful You prove Yourself faithful;
with the blameless You prove Yourself blameless;
27 Mt 5:8 with the pure You show Yourself pure;
but with the perverse You show Yourself shrewd.
28 (Ps 72:12-13; Isa 5:15) You deliver a humble people;
but Your eyes are upon the exalted to bring them down.
29 (Ps 27:1; Job 29:3) For You are my lamp, O Lord;
the Lord illuminates my darkness.
30 For by You I can run over a channel;
by my God I can leap over a wall.
31 (Dt 32:4; Pr 30:5) As for God, His way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in Him.
32 (1Sa 2:2) For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock except our God?
33 God is my strong fortress,
and He sets the blameless on His way.
34 (Dt 32:13; 2Sa 2:18) He makes my feet like hinds' feet;
He sets me on my high places.
35 (Ps 144:1 ) He trains my hand for battle,
so that my arm may bend a bow of bronze.
36 (Eph 6:16) You have given me a shield of Your salvation,
and Your humility has made me great.
37 (Pr 4:12 ) You widen my stride under me,
and my feet do stagger.
38 I pursued my enemies and destroyed them;
I did not turn back until they were consumed.
39 (Mal 4:3) I consumed them and shattered them so that they did not rise;
they fell under my feet.
40 (Ps 44:5) You girded me with strength for the battle;
You subjugated under me those who rose up against me.
41 (Ex 23:27; Jos 10:24) You caused my enemies to retreat from me;
I destroyed those who hated me.
42 (Isa 1:15; 1Sa 28:6) They looked, but there was no one to save them,
to the Lord, but He did not respond.
43 (Mic 7:10; Isa 10:6; 2Ki 13:7) I crushed them like the dust of the land,
like the mud of the streets, I ground them and stamped them down.
44 (2Sa 8:1-14; Isa 55:5) You have also delivered me f
rom the strivings of my people;
You have kept me as the head of the nations.
A people whom I have not known will serve me.
45 (Ps 66:3; 81:15) Foreigners submit to me, cringing;
as soon as they hear, they obey me.
46 (Mic 7:17) Foreigners lose heart;
they gird themselves as they leave their fortresses.
47 (Ps 89:26) The Lord lives; blessed be my rock.
May the God of the rock of my salvation be exalted,
48 (Ps 144:2; 94:1) the God who gave me retribution
and brought down peoples under me,
49 (Ps 140:1) who brought me out from my enemies.
You exalted me above those who rose up against me;
You delivered me from violent ones.
50 (Ro 15:9) Therefore, I praise You, O Lord, among the nations;
I sing praises to Your name.
51 (Ps 144:10; 2Sa 7:12-13) He is a tower of salvation for His king,
and He acts faithfully toward His anointed,
toward David and his descendants forever.
2 Samuel 22
[1] And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the
LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the
hand of Saul:
[2] And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
[3] The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn
of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me
from violence.
[4] I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be
saved from mine enemies.
[5] When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me
afraid;
[6] The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented
me;
[7] In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did
hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
[8] Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and
shook, because he was wroth.
[9] There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth
devoured: coals were kindled by it.
[10] He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his
feet.
[11] And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings
of the wind.
[12] And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick
clouds of the skies.
[13] Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
[14] The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
[15] And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited
them.
[16] And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were
discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his
nostrils.
[17] He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
[18] He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for
they were too strong for me.
[19] They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
[20] He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because
he delighted in me.
[21] The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the
cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
[22] For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed
from my God.
[23] For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did
not depart from them.
[24] I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
[25] Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness;
according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
[26] With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright
man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
[27] With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou
wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
[28] And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the
haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
[29] For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
[30] For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a
wall.
[31] As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a
buckler to all them that trust in him.
[32] For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
[33] God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
[34] He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
[35] He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine
arms.
[36] Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness
hath made me great.
[37] Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
[38] I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again
until I had consumed them.
[39] And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise:
yea, they are fallen under my feet.
[40] For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up
against me hast thou subdued under me.
[41] Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy
them that hate me.
[42] They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he
answered them not.
[43] Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp
them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
[44] Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast
kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
[45] Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they
shall be obedient unto me.
[46] Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close
places.
[47] The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the
rock of my salvation.
[48] It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
[49] And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me
up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from
the violent man.
[50] Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and
I will sing praises unto thy name.
[51] He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his
anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
PSALMS 18
2Sa 22:1-51
For the Music Director. A Psalm of David the servant of the Lord.
He spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day that the Lord
delivered him from the hand of
all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. He said:
1 I love You, O Lord, my strength.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord is my pillar, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
and I will be saved from my enemies.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) The cords of death encircled me,
and the torrents of destruction terrified me.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) The cords of Sheol surrounded me;
the snares of death confronted me.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) In my distress I called on the Lord,
and cried for help to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
and my cry for help came before Him to His ears.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Then the earth shook and quaked;
the foundations of the hills also moved;
they reeled because His anger burned.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Smoke went up out of His nostrils,
and fire from His mouth devoured;
coals were kindled by it.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 )He bent the heavens and came down,
and darkness was under His feet.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) He rode on a cherub, and flew;
He flew swiftly on the wings of the wind.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) He made darkness His secret place;
His pavilion was surrounding Him,
dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12 At the brightness before Him His thick clouds passed by,
hailstones and coals of fire.
13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens,
and the Most High gave His voice,
hailstones and coals of fire.
14 He sent out His arrows and scattered them,
and He shot out lightning and distressed them.
15 Then the channels of waters appeared,
and the foundations of the world were discovered
at Your rebuke, O Lord,
at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
16 He sent from above, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
and from those who hated me,
for they were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but the Lord was my support.
19 He also brought me forth into a large place;
He delivered me because He delighted in me.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands He has repaid me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord,
and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 For all His judgments were before me,
and I did not put away His statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before Him,
and I kept myself from my iniquity.
24 Therefore the Lord has repaid me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in His view.
25 With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
with the blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;
26 with the pure You will show Yourself pure;
and with the crooked You will show Yourself crooked.
27 For You will save the afflicted people,
but will bring down prideful eyes.
28 For You will cause my lamp to shine;
the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by You I can run through a troop,
and by my God I can leap a wall.
30 As for God, His way has integrity;
the word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield
to all those who take refuge in Him.
31 For who is God except the Lord?
Or who is a rock besides our God?
32 It is God who clothes me with strength,
and gives my way integrity.
33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
and causes me to stand on my high places.
34 He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have given me the shield of Your salvation,
and Your right hand has held me up,
and Your gentleness has made me great.
36 You have lengthened my stride under me,
so that my feet did not slip.
37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them;
I did not return until they were destroyed.
38 I wounded them, and they were not able to rise;
they are fallen under my feet.
39 For You clothed me with strength for the battle;
You subdued under me those who rose up against me.
40 You gave me the necks of my enemies,
and I destroyed those who hate me.
41 They cried for help, but there was none to save them;
even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.
42 Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind;
I cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the hostilities of the people,
and You have made me the head of nations;
a people whom I have not known serve me.
44 At hearing a report, they obey me;
foreigners come cringing to me.
45 Foreigners fade away,
and come quaking out of their prisons.
46 The Lord lives! And blessed be my Rock!
May the God of my salvation be exalted.
47 It is God who avenges me
and subdues the people under me;
48 He delivers me from my enemies.
You lift me up above those who rise up against me;
You have delivered me from the violent man.
49 Therefore I will give thanks to You, OLord, among the nations,
and sing praises to Your name.
50 He gives great deliverance to His king,
and shows lovingkindness to His anointed,
to David and to his descendants for evermore.

entitled Spiritual Diagnosis
Jeremiah 44:16-18,20-23
15 (Pr 11:21; Isa 1:5) Then all the men who knew that their wives
had burned incense to other gods and all the women that stood by,
a great multitude, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt,
in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying:
16 "As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord,
we will not listen to you.
17 (Ne 9:34; Jer 7:18) But we will certainly do whatever we have vowed,
to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings
to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings,
and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem.
For then we had plenty of food, and were well off, and saw no disaster.
18 (Mal 3:13-15; Nu 11:5-6) But since we left off burning incense
to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her,
we have been in want of all things and have been consumed by the sword
and by the famine."
19 (Jer 7:18; 44:15) The women also said, "When we burned incense
to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings to her,
did we make her cakes to worship her and pour out drink offerings
to her without our husbands?"
Calamity for the Jews
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men and to the women,
and to all the people who had given him such an answer:
21 (Ps 79:8; Isa 64:9) "The incense offerings that you burned
in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you,
and your fathers, your kings, and your officials,
and the people of the land, did not the Lord remember them
and did they not come into His mind?
22 (Jer 25:18; Isa 7:13) So the Lord could no longer bear it
because of the evil of your deeds and because of the abominations
which you have committed. Therefore your land is a desolation,
and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as it is this day.
23 (1Ki 9:9; Da 9:11-12) Because you have burned incense
and because you have sinned against the Lord and have not obeyed
the voice of the Lord, nor walked in His law, nor in His statutes,
nor in His testimonies, therefore this calamity has happened to you,
as it is this day."
A Protest
[15] Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto
other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all
the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah,
saying,
[16] As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD,
we will not hearken unto thee.
[17] But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own
mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink
offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings,
and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem:
for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
[18] But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to
pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been
consumed by the sword and by the famine.
[19] And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink
offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink
offerings unto her, without our men?
The Prophet's Answer
[20] Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women,
and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,
[21] The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets
of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes,
and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them,
and came it not into his mind?
[22] So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your
doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore
is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without
an inhabitant, as at this day.
[23] Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against
the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law,
nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened
unto you, as at this day.
Chemotherapy reduced the tumour in my father-in-law's pancreas,
until it didn't. As the tumor began to grow again, he was left with
a life-and-death decision. He asked his doctor, "Should I take more of this
chemo or try something else, perhaps a different drug or radiation?"
The people of Judah had a similar life-and-death question. Weary from war
and famine, God's people wondered whether their problem was too much idolatry
or not enough. They concluded they should offer more sacrifices to a false
god and see if she would protect and prosper them (Jeremiah 44:17).
Jeremiah said they had wildly misdiagnosed their situation. Their problem
wasn't a lack of commitment to idols; their problem was that they had them.
They told the prophet, "We will not listen to the message you have spoken
to us in the name of the Lord!" (v. 16). Jeremiah replied,
"Because you have burned incense and have sinned against the Lord
and have not obeyed him or followed his law or his decrees
or his stipulations, this disaster has come upon you" (v. 23).
Like Judah, we may be tempted to double down on sinful choices that have
landed us in trouble. Relationship problems? We can be more aloof.
Financial issues? We'll spend our way to happiness. Pushed aside? We'll
be equally ruthless. But the idols that contributed to our problems
can't save us. Only Jesus can carry us through our troubles as we turn to Him.

Reflect & Pray
What personal problem has you stumped and how are you tempted
to respond in a sinful way? What do you think Jesus might want you to do?
Jesus, I’d rather fail with You than succeed without You.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 6 - Through The Fire
Is 43:2
2 (Ps 66:12; Da 3:25-27) When you pass through waters,
I will be with you. And through the rivers,they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
nor shall the flame kindle on you.
2 When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
In the Book of Daniel, 3 young men provide one of the world's best-known
Bible stories. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three of the finest young
men of Israel, were taken into capitivity to Babylon. There King
Nebuchadnezzar, filled with his own importance, commanded that
everyone bow down and worship his image.
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship anyone
except the One True god, they were cast into Nebuchadnezzar's
furnace of fire.
Is 43:2 brings their experience into focus for us. There the Lord says,
"When you pass through the fire ... when you walk through the water ..."
Not if, but when. If we are committed to serving and honouring the Lord,
at some point we will be faced with "passing through the fire" for hm.
We may not face a physical furnace, but we may face the fires of
persecution, anger, hostility or suffering. And God says:
"I will be with you."
When the three young Israelites stepped into the king's furnace, all
the people looked and saw, not three, but four men in the fire, their
bonds burned away, walking freely among the flames. They did not
escape the fate decreed for them. But the Lord was with them in
the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the flood
and the fire, as surely as he has promised to be with us in the
flood and fire tht life brings to us. The promise of god remains:
"I will be with you; the waters will not overflow, nor will the
flames burn you."
Application
a) What kinds of "fires" and "Floods" have I experienced?
b) How was I aware of the Lord's presence with me?

Joshua 1:5
5 (Dt 7:24; 31:6-8) No man will be able to stand against
you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, I will be with you.
I will not abandon you. I will not leave you.
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before
thee all the days of thy life:
as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee:
I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
God's Help in Times of Temptation
1 Cor 10:1-13
1 Corinthians 10
Warning Against Idolatry
1 (Ex 14:29; Ps 66:6) I would not want you to be unaware that
all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 (Ex 16:35; Dt 8:3) all ate the same spiritual food;
4 (Ex 17:6; Nu 20:11) and all drank the same spiritual drink,
for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them,
and that Rock was Christ.
5 (Heb 3:17; Jude 1:5) But with many of them God was not well pleased,
and they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 (Nu 11:4; 1Co 10:11) Now these things were our examples to the intent
that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted.
7 (Ex 32:19; 32:4) Neither be idolaters as were some of them.
As it is written,
"The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to revel." (Ex 32:6. )
8 (Nu 25:1-9; 1Co 6:18) Neither let us commit sexual immorality as some
of them committed, when 23000 fell in one day.
9 (Nu 21:5-6; Ex 17:2) Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them
also tempted and were destroyed by serpents.
10 (Ex 12:23; Nu 16:41) Neither murmur, as some of them also murmured
and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 (Ro 13:11) Now all these things happened to them for examples.
They are written as an admonition to us,
upon whom the end of the ages has come.
12 (Ro 11:20) Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed,
lest he fall.
13 (1Co 1:9; 2Pe 2:9) No temptation has taken you except what is common
to man. God is faithful, and He will not permit you to be tempted above
what you can endure, but will with the temptation also make a way
to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all
our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 and did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased:
for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust
after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written,
The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed,
and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted,
and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured,
and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples:
and they are written for our admonition,
upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted
above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also
make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Remember God's promises when You pray
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Manitoba
Quick facts on Muslims in Manitoba
Manitoba 2015 population 1 282 000
est Muslim Population 21 349
CNMM Networks: Winnipeg
The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

From Coffee to Christ
Many people in Morocco's Frontier People Groups (FPG's) have left their
homeland and resettled in cities throughout North America. Some 77000
Moroccan Arabs live in Montreal, while New York City is home to 33000 more,
according to Global Gates' UPG Priority Matrix.
They came to North America for family, jobs, or the promise of a better
life, and some of them may even be in your community.
In North Carolina's Research Triangle area, there is a coffee shop where
Moroccan men, women, and children gather to enjoy beverages, food, games,
and community. Reaching out to them is easy, and relationships
and trust develop naturally through enjoying a cup of coffee and playing
games. Spiritual conversations flourish, and Christian workers share
the hope of Jesus through Bible stories; all that in English,
and right down the street.
As more Moroccans leave Morocco and Europe and make their homes throughout
North America, the church has unprecedented opportunities to engage them
and their communities. Equipped with nothing more than the love of Jesus
and a few bucks for coffee, Christians can engage these groups without
the need for passports, plane tickets, or language skills.
Pray that more churches and Christians in North America will embrace
this new era of missions in our neighborhoods as God, in His sovereign
plan (Acts 17:26-27), has brought the nations right to our doorsteps.
26 (Mal 2:10; Ge 3:20) He has made from one blood every nation of men
to live on the entire face of the earth, having appointed fixed times
and the boundaries of their habitation,
27 (Ac 14:17; Jer 23:23-24) that they should seek the Lord so perhaps
they might reach for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each
one of us.
[26] And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the
face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the
bounds of their habitation;
[27] That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and
find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Pray for more laborers among Moroccans here in North America. Ask the Holy
Spirit to burden believers and churches for Moroccans in their communities.
Pray for missionary families who labor full time among Moroccans in North
America; they need encouragement and financial provision to continue their
work. May they not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).
9 (Heb 12:3; 1Co 15:58; Heb 12:5) And let us not grow weary in doing good,
for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.
[9] And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.
And
Thank you for praying through the
5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.
"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.
Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians
and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the
love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.
One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by
light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.
As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and
confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution
to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.
Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.
Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father
to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.
I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.
God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through
the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom
and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."
13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Which in continuance were fashioned,
When as yet there was none of them.

the foundations of the heavens rumbled and shook,
because He was angry.

devouring fire from His mouth;
coals blazed forth from Him.
10 (1Ki 8:12; Ps 97:2 )He bowed the heaven as He came down,

He drew me out of mighty waters.
18 He rescued me from my strong enemy,

and my feet do stagger.
38 I pursued my enemies and destroyed them;
I did not turn back until they were consumed.
39 (Mal 4:3) I consumed them and shattered them so that they did not rise;
they fell under my feet.
40 (Ps 44:5) You girded me with strength for the battle;
You subjugated under me those who rose up against me.
41 (Ex 23:27; Jos 10:24) You caused my enemies to retreat from me;
I destroyed those who hated me.
44 (2Sa 8:1-14; Isa 55:5) You have also delivered me f
rom the strivings of my people;
You have kept me as the head of the nations.
A people whom I have not known will serve me.
45 (Ps 66:3; 81:15) Foreigners submit to me, cringing;
as soon as they hear, they obey me.
46 (Mic 7:17) Foreigners lose heart;
they gird themselves as they leave their fortresses.
47 (Ps 89:26) The Lord lives; blessed be my rock.
May the God of the rock of my salvation be exalted,
48 (Ps 144:2; 94:1) the God who gave me retribution

I sing praises to Your name.
51 (Ps 144:10; 2Sa 7:12-13) He is a tower of salvation for His king,
and He acts faithfully toward His anointed,
toward David and his descendants forever.
2 Samuel 22
[1] And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the
LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the
hand of Saul:
[2] And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
[3] The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn
of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me
from violence.
[4] I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be
saved from mine enemies.
[5] When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me
afraid;
[6] The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented
me;
[7] In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did
hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
[15] And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited
them.
[16] And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were
discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his
nostrils.
[17] He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
[25] Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness;
according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord is my pillar, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
and I will be saved from my enemies.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) The cords of death encircled me,
and the torrents of destruction terrified me.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) The cords of Sheol surrounded me;
the snares of death confronted me.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) In my distress I called on the Lord,
and cried for help to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
and my cry for help came before Him to His ears.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Then the earth shook and quaked;
the foundations of the hills also moved;
they reeled because His anger burned.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Smoke went up out of His nostrils,
and fire from His mouth devoured;
coals were kindled by it.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 )He bent the heavens and came down,
and darkness was under His feet.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) He rode on a cherub, and flew;
He flew swiftly on the wings of the wind.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) He made darkness His secret place;
16 He sent from above, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
and from those who hated me,
for they were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but the Lord was my support.
19 He also brought me forth into a large place;
He delivered me because He delighted in me.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands He has repaid me.
25 With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
with the blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;
26 with the pure You will show Yourself pure;
and with the crooked You will show Yourself crooked.
27 For You will save the afflicted people,
but will bring down prideful eyes.
28 For You will cause my lamp to shine;
the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by You I can run through a troop,
and by my God I can leap a wall.
30 As for God, His way has integrity;
the word of the Lord is proven;
37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them;
I did not return until they were destroyed.
38 I wounded them, and they were not able to rise;
they are fallen under my feet.
39 For You clothed me with strength for the battle;
You subdued under me those who rose up against me.
40 You gave me the necks of my enemies,
and I destroyed those who hate me.
41 They cried for help, but there was none to save them;
even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.
42 Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind;
I cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the hostilities of the people,
and You have made me the head of nations;
a people whom I have not known serve me.
44 At hearing a report, they obey me;
foreigners come cringing to me.
45 Foreigners fade away,
and come quaking out of their prisons.
46 The Lord lives! And blessed be my Rock!
May the God of my salvation be exalted.
47 It is God who avenges me
and subdues the people under me;
48 He delivers me from my enemies.
You lift me up above those who rise up against me;
You have delivered me from the violent man.
49 Therefore I will give thanks to You, OLord, among the nations,
and sing praises to Your name.
50 He gives great deliverance to His king,
and shows lovingkindness to His anointed,
to David and to his descendants for evermore.
Psalms 18
[1] I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
[2] The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my
strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation,
and my high tower.
[3] I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be
saved from mine enemies.
[4] The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me
afraid.
[5] The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented
me.
[6] In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard
my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
[7] Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills
moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
[8] There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth
devoured: coals were kindled by it.
[9] He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his
feet.
[10] And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings
of the wind.
[11] He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were
dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
[12] At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail
stones and coals of fire.
[13] The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice;
hail stones and coals of fire.
[14] Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out
lightnings, and discomfited them.
[15] Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world
were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy
nostrils.
[16] He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
[17] He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for
they were too strong for me.
[18] They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
[19] He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because
he delighted in me.
[20] The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the
cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
[21] For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed
from my God.
[22] For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his
statutes from me.
[23] I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
[24] Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
[25] With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man
thou wilt shew thyself upright;
[26] With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou
wilt shew thyself froward.
[27] For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high
looks.
[28] For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my
darkness.
[29] For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped
over a wall.
[30] As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a
buckler to all those that trust in him.
[31] For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
[32] It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
[33] He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
[34] He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine
arms.
[35] Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand
hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
[36] Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
[37] I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn
again till they were consumed.
[38] I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen
under my feet.
[39] For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast
subdued under me those that rose up against me.
[40] Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy
them that hate me.
[41] They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he
answered them not.
[42] Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them
out as the dirt in the streets.
[43] Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast
made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve
me.
[44] As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall
submit themselves unto me.
[45] The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
[46] The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my
salvation be exalted.
[47] It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
[48] He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those
that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
[49] Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and
sing praises unto thy name.
[50] Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his
anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

entitled Spiritual Diagnosis

2 When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
1 (Ex 14:29; Ps 66:6) I would not want you to be unaware that
all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 (Ex 16:35; Dt 8:3) all ate the same spiritual food;
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all
our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 and did all eat the same spiritual meat;
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.

26 (Mal 2:10; Ge 3:20) He has made from one blood every nation of men
to live on the entire face of the earth, having appointed fixed times
and the boundaries of their habitation,
27 (Ac 14:17; Jer 23:23-24) that they should seek the Lord so perhaps
they might reach for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each
one of us.
[26] And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the
face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the
bounds of their habitation;
And

Day 29 of the Month
a) Pray that God will enlighten those in medicine and health care
to acknowledge the sanctity of life and server with true
integrity and compassion (
Ps 139:13-16
13 You brought my inner parts into being;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder;
marvelous are Your works,
and You know me completely.
15 My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in secret,
and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw me unformed,
yet in Your book
all my days were written,
before any of them came into being.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins:
Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee,
When I was made in secret, and curiously wrought
in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
And in thy book all my members were written,
Which in continuance were fashioned,
When as yet there was none of them.
)
b) Pray that the Church in Canada will remember the poor
and compassionately respond to their plight (
Gal 2:10
10 (Ac 24:17) Only they requested that we should remember the poor,
which I also was eager to do.
10 Only they would that we should remember the poor;
the same which I also was forward to do.
)
