Psalms 1
BOOK ONE
Psalms 1-41
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor stands in the path of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and in His law he meditates day and night.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that brings forth its fruit in its season;
its leaf will not wither,
and whatever he does will prosper.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) The ungodly are not so,
but are like the chaff
which the wind drives away.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Therefore the ungodly will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the ungodly will perish.
Psalm 1
[1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
And in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
That bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
His leaf also shall not wither;
And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
[4] The ungodly are not so:
But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
[5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
[6] For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 2
1 Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain?
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord
and against His anointed, saying,
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) "Let us tear off their bonds
and cast away their ropes from us."
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord ridicules them.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Then He will speak to them in His wrath
and terrify them in His burning anger:
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) "I have installed My king on Zion, My holy hill."
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) I will declare the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, "You are My son; this day have I begotten you.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Ask of Me,
and I will give you the nations for your inheritance,
and the ends of the earth for your possession.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) You will break them with a scepter of iron;
you will dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Now then, you kings, be wise;
be admonished, you judges of the earth.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Serve the Lord with fear; tremble with trepidation!
12 Kiss the son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way,
for His wrath kindles in a flash. Blessed are all who seek refuge in Him.
Psalm 2
[1] Why do the heathen rage, And the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, Against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh:
The Lord shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath,
And vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me,
Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance,
And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
[9]Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron;
Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
[10]Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way,
When his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put
their trust in him.
PSALMS 15
A Psalm of David.
1 Lord, who will abide in Your tabernacle?
Who will dwell in Your holy hill?
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 )He who walks uprightly,
and does righteousness,
and speaks truth in his heart;
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) he who does not slander with the tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor bears a reproach against his friend;
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but who honors those who fear the Lord;
he who swears to avoid evil
and does not change;
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) he who does not put his money out to usury,
nor take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be moved.
Psalm 15
[1] LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy
hill?
[2] He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the
truth in his heart.
[3] He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
[4] In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that
fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
[5] He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against
the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

A Psalm of David.
1 My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
Why are You so far from deliveringme,
and from my roaring words of distress?
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer;
and at night, but I have no rest.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) But You are holy,
O You who inhabits the praises of Israel.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Our fathers trusted in You;
they trusted, and You did deliver them.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5 )They cried to You and were delivered;
they trusted in You and were not put to shame.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) But I am a worm, and not a man;
a reproach of men and despised by the people.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) All who see me laugh me to scorn;
they sneer with the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) "Trust in the Lord,
let Him deliver him;
let Him rescue him,
seeing He delights in him."

You caused me to trust
while I was on my mother's breasts.

You are my God from my mother's womb.

for trouble is near,
for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls encircle me;
strong bulls of Bashan surround me.
13 They open their mouths against me,
as a preying and roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint;
my heart is like wax;
it is melted inside my body.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue cleaves to my jaws;
and You have set me toward the dust of death.
16 For dogs have encompassed me;
the assembly of the wicked has enclosed me;
like a lion they pin my hands and my feet;
17 I can count all my bones;
they look and stare on me.
18 They part my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothes.
19 But do not be far from me, O Lord;
O my Help, hasten to my aid.
20 Rescue my soul from the sword,
my only life from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth,
and from the horns of the wild ox, answer me!
22 I will declare Your name to my community;
in the midst of the congregation I will praise You.
23 You who fear the Lord, praise Him;
all you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
and stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel.
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred
the affliction of the afflicted;
nor has He hid His face from him;
but when he cried to Him, He heard.
25 From You my praise will be in the great congregation;
I will pay my vows before those who fear Him.
26 The meek will eat and be satisfied;
those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
May your hearts live forever.
27 All the ends of the world
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will worship before You.
28 For kingship belongs to the Lord,
and He rules among the nations.
29 All the prosperous ones of the earth will eat and worship;
all who go down to the dust will bow before Him,
even he who cannot keep his own soul alive.
30 Posterity will serve Him;
it will be told to generations about the Lord;
31 they will come and declare His righteousness
to a people yet to be born,
that He has acted.
Psalm 22
[1] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from
helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
[2] O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night
season, and am not silent.
[3] But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
[4] Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
[5] They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were
not confounded.
[6] But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the
people.
[7] All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they

[8] He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him,
seeing he delighted in him.

[19] But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help
me.
[20] Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
[21] Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of
the unicorns.
[22] I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the
congregation will I praise thee.
[23] Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify
him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
[24] For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
[25] My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my
vows before them that fear him.
[26] The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that
seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
[27] All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and
all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
[28] For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the

down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
[30] A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a
generation.
[31] They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that
shall be born, that he hath done this.
Psalms 23
A Psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) He restores my soul;
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup runs over.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalm 23

and established it on the floods.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?
Who may stand in His holy place?
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) He who has clean hands and a pure heart;
who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
nor sworn deceitfully.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) He will receive the blessing from the Lord,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek Your face. Selah
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Lift up your heads, O you gates;
and be lifted up, you everlasting doors,
that the King of glory may enter.

You drive them away;
as wax melts before the fire,
so may the wicked perish before God.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) But let the righteous be glad;
let them rejoice before God;
let them rejoice exceedingly.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
raise a song to Him who rides through the deserts-
His name is the Lord;
exult before Him.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) A father of the fatherless, and a protector of the widows,
is God in His holy habitation.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9 )God sets the deserted in families;
He brings out prisoners into prosperity,
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

yet you will be like the wings of a dove overlaid with silver,
and its feathers with yellow gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it,
it was white as snow on Mount Zalmon.
15 The mountain of God is as the mountain of Bashan;
a mountain of many peaks like the mountain of Bashan.
16 Why are you envious, you mountains of many peaks?
This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in;
yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
17 The chariots of God are twice ten thousand,
even thousands of thousands;
the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
18 You have ascended on high,
You have led captivity captive;
You have received gifts from people,
yes, even from the rebellious,
that the Lord God might dwell among them.
19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits,
even the God who is our salvation. Selah
20 That God is for us, the God of saving acts;
and to God the Lord belongs escape from death.
21 But God will shatter the head of His enemies,
and the scalp of one who walks in his trespasses.
22 The Lord said, "I will cause them to return from Bashan,
I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea,
23 that your foot may stomp in the blood of your enemies,
and the tongue of your dogs may have a portion in it."
24 They have seen Your processions, O God,
the processions of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 The singers went before,
the players on instruments followed after;
among them were the young women playing tambourines.
26 Bless God in the congregations,
the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.
27 There is little Benjamin leading them,
the princes of Judah and their throng of people,
the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
28 Your God has commanded your strength;
strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.
29 From Your temple above Jerusalem,
kings will bring gifts to You.
30 Rebuke the animals that live among the reeds,
the herd of bulls, with the calves of the people,
until everyone submits himself with pieces of silver;
scatter peoples who delight in war.
31 Ambassadors will come out of Egypt;
Ethiopia will stretch out its hands to God.
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth;
oh, sing praises to the Lord; Selah
33 to Him who rides on the heavens, the ancient heavens;
He who sends out His voice, a mighty voice.
34 Ascribe strength to God;
His majesty is over Israel,
and His strength is in the clouds.
35 O God, You are awesome from Your sanctuaries;
the God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to people.

Psalm 68
[1] Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him

2 Kings 20:1-6
Hezekiah's Life Extended
2Ch 32:24-26; Isa 38:1-8
1(2Sa 17:23) In those days Hezekiah became ill and was near death.
The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him, and said to him,
"Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live."
2 Then he turned his face toward the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying,
3 (Ne 13:22; 2Ki 18:3-6) "Please, O Lord, remember how I have walked before
You faithfully and with an undivided heart and have done what is good
in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 Now before Isaiah had come out of the middle courtyard,
the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
5 (1Sa 9:16; 2Ki 19:20) "Turn back and say to Hezekiah the leader of My
people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father:
I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. I will heal you.
On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

[2] Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
[3] I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in
truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy
sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
[4] And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court,
that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
[5] Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the
LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy
tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the
house of the LORD.
[6] And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and
this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this
city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
"Prayers for an upcoming brain scan." "That my kids would come back to
church." "Comfort for Dave, who lost his wife." Our card ministry team
receives a weekly list of prayer requests like these so we can pray
and send each person a handwritten note. The requests are overwhelming,
and our efforts can feel small and unnoticed. That changed after I
received a heartfelt thank-you card from Dave, the recently bereaved
husband, with a copy of his beloved wife's obituary.
I realised anew that prayer matters.
Jesus modeled that we should pray earnestly, often, and with hopeful
faith. His time on earth was limited, but He prioritised getting away
by Himself to pray (Mark 1:35; 6:46; 14:32).
Hundreds of years earlier, the Israelite king Hezekiah learned this
lesson too. He was told that an illness would soon take his life
(2 Kings 20:1). In distress and weeping bitterly, Hezekiah
"he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD," (v. 2).
In this instance, God's response was immediate. He healed Hezekiah's
sickness, added fifteen years to his life, and promised to rescue
the kingdom from an adversary (vv. 5-6). God answered his prayer
not because Hezekiah was living a good life, but "I will defend this
city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake" (v. 6 ).
We may not always receive what we ask for, but we can be sure
that God is working in and through every prayer.

Week 1 Knowing God's Word Day 6 - Shielded by the Word
Proverbs 30:5
5 (Ps 12:6; 18:30) Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
5 Every word of God is pure:
He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
A wife of ten years, betrayed by her husband's infidelity, declares that
she will never trust a man again. A teenage son says of his father, "I
can't depend on him anymore! Dad always talk big and makes promises,
but he never does what he says." A career woman, her reputation
undermined by gossip, leaves the church broken, and never returns.
Human beings are weak, volatile, unfaithful creatures; often we
break our word and hurt others in the process. But the Scripture
clearly assures us that God's Word is not like the word of man.
God always remains faithful to his Word, always fulfills his promises,
always does what he says he will do.
God's word is pure (or flawless), Proverbs 30:5 says. His Word
is not distorted with mixed motives or flawed by untruth. God's Word
is dependable, able to support and lift us up, able to speak
encouragement to us. His Word is a "shield" a protection for us
against the onslaughts of the Enemy, a place of refuge from the struggle
and confusion of daily life.
We live in a world that recognises no absolute truth. Morality,
values, relationships, ethics - every decision of life, it seems,
"depends on the situation." But in the midst of the confusion,
God interjects his Word - timeless, pure, trustworthy, reliable.
We can depend upon God's Word. We can turn to him to verify who we are
and the purposes for which we were created. We can find refuge in his truth,
and rest in the knowledge that whatever he says, he will do.
Application

and dependability of God's Word?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town
reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.
Agree in prayer for:
- net network leaders - the need is great
- the development of network leadership teams
- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals
whom God is calling into this ministry.
- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising
believers
- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas
- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love
towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

1(2Sa 17:23) In those days Hezekiah became ill and was near death.

"Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live."
2 Then he turned his face toward the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying,
3 (Ne 13:22; 2Ki 18:3-6) "Please, O Lord, remember how I have walked before
You faithfully and with an undivided heart and have done what is good
in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 Now before Isaiah had come out of the middle courtyard,

5 (1Sa 9:16; 2Ki 19:20) "Turn back and say to Hezekiah the leader of My

"Prayers for an upcoming brain scan." "That my kids would come back to
church." "Comfort for Dave, who lost his wife." Our card ministry team
receives a weekly list of prayer requests like these so we can pray
and send each person a handwritten note. The requests are overwhelming,
and our efforts can feel small and unnoticed. That changed after I
received a heartfelt thank-you card from Dave, the recently bereaved
husband, with a copy of his beloved wife's obituary.
I realised anew that prayer matters.
Jesus modeled that we should pray earnestly, often, and with hopeful
faith. His time on earth was limited, but He prioritised getting away
by Himself to pray (Mark 1:35; 6:46; 14:32).
Hundreds of years earlier, the Israelite king Hezekiah learned this
lesson too. He was told that an illness would soon take his life
(2 Kings 20:1). In distress and weeping bitterly, Hezekiah
"he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD," (v. 2).
In this instance, God's response was immediate. He healed Hezekiah's
sickness, added fifteen years to his life, and promised to rescue
the kingdom from an adversary (vv. 5-6). God answered his prayer
not because Hezekiah was living a good life, but "I will defend this
city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake" (v. 6 ).
We may not always receive what we ask for, but we can be sure
that God is working in and through every prayer.

Proverbs 30:5

5 Every word of God is pure:
He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
A wife of ten years, betrayed by her husband's infidelity, declares that
she will never trust a man again. A teenage son says of his father, "I
can't depend on him anymore! Dad always talk big and makes promises,
but he never does what he says." A career woman, her reputation
undermined by gossip, leaves the church broken, and never returns.
Human beings are weak, volatile, unfaithful creatures; often we
break our word and hurt others in the process. But the Scripture
clearly assures us that God's Word is not like the word of man.
God always remains faithful to his Word, always fulfills his promises,
always does what he says he will do.
God's word is pure (or flawless), Proverbs 30:5 says. His Word
is not distorted with mixed motives or flawed by untruth. God's Word
is dependable, able to support and lift us up, able to speak
encouragement to us. His Word is a "shield" a protection for us
against the onslaughts of the Enemy, a place of refuge from the struggle
and confusion of daily life.
We live in a world that recognises no absolute truth. Morality,
values, relationships, ethics - every decision of life, it seems,
"depends on the situation." But in the midst of the confusion,
God interjects his Word - timeless, pure, trustworthy, reliable.
We can depend upon God's Word. We can turn to him to verify who we are
and the purposes for which we were created. We can find refuge in his truth,
and rest in the knowledge that whatever he says, he will do.
Application

and dependability of God's Word?

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that
the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most
Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching
from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly
resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques
are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools
are starting.
And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their
advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,
the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour
brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of
"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of
receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

a) Pray for the province of Alberta as follows:
I) Pray for the leaders of Alberta, that God's Spirit would influence then to
act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards. (
1 Tim 2:1-4
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,
3 (1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and acceptable in
the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved and to come
to the knowledge of the truth.

2 for kings, and for all that are in authority;

and Canadian to faith in Christ.
