Day 164 of My 3rd Bible Study Journey - 13 June 2023 reflections

Day 164, 13 June 2023

1) 1 Kings 8:54-66

2 Chronicles 7:1-10

1 Kings 9:1-9

2 Chronicles 7:11-22

1 Kings 9:10-14, Psalms 136

1 Kings 8

54 (Lk 22:45) Now when Solomon finished praying this prayer

and making supplication to the Lord, he arose from before the altar

of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 (1Ki 8:14; 2Sa 6:18) He stood up and blessed all the congregation

of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 (Dt 12:10; Jos 23:14-15) "Blessed be the Lord who has given rest

to His people Israel according to all that He promised.

Not one word of His promises which He gave by the hand of Moses

His servant has failed.

57 (Dt 31:6; Jos 1:5) The Lord our God be with us, as He was with

our fathers. Let Him neither leave us nor forsake us,

58 (Ps 119:36; Jer 31:33) that He may incline our hearts to Him,

to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments, statutes,

and judgments, which He commanded our fathers.

59 And let these my words, with which I have made supplication

before the Lord, be close to the Lord our God day and night,

that He will maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people

Israel at all times as the situation demands,

60 (Dt 4:35; 1Ki 18:39) so that all the people of the earth may know

that the Lord is God and that there is none else.

61 (1Ki 11:4; 2Ki 20:3) Let your hearts, therefore, be perfect

with the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes

and keep His commandments, as at this day."

The Dedication of the Temple

2Ch 7:1-10

62 (2Sa 6:17-19) The king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices

before the Lord.

63 (Ezr 6:16-17; Ne 12:27) Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings,

which he offered to the Lord,2 2 000 oxen and 120000 sheep.

So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

64 (2Ch 4:1) The same day the king consecrated the middle of the court

that was in front of the house of the Lord, for there he offered

burnt offerings and meat offerings and the fat of the peace offerings,

because the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too little to receive

the burnt offerings and meat offerings and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 (Nu 34:5; 34:8; 1Ki 8:2) At that time, Solomon held a feast

for all Israel, a great congregation, from the entry of Lebo Hamath

to the Brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days

and another seven days, a total of fourteen days.

66 On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king

and went to their tents rejoicing in their hearts for all the goodness

that the Lord had done for David His servant and for Israel His people.

His Blessing

54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this

prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of

the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice,

saying,

56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according

to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good

promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave

us, nor forsake us:

58 that he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways,

and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments,

which he commanded our fathers.

59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD,

be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of

his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter

shall require:

60 that all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that

there is none else.

61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in

his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto

the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand

sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the

LORD.

64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before

the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat

offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that

was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat

offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great

congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before

the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and

went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the

LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

2 Chronicles 7

Solomon Dedicates the Temple

1Ki 8:62-66

1 (1Ki 18:38; Lev 9:23-24) And when Solomon finished praying, fire came

down from the heavens and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices,

and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

2 (2Ch 5:14) And the priests were not able to enter

into the house of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house.

3 (2Ch 5:13; 20:21) And all the sons of Israel saw when the fire came down

and the glory of the Lord came on the temple, and they bowed their faces

low to the ground on the pavement, and they worshipped confessing,

"The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever."

4 Then the king and all the people were making sacrifices before the Lord.

5 King Solomon sacrificed 22000 oxen and 120000 sheep.

So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6 (2Ch 5:12; 1Ch 15:16-21) The priests stood at their positions,

with the Levites and all their instruments of music for the Lord

that King David had made to praise the Lord-for His mercy endures

forever-when David gave praise by their ministry, and the priests

sounded trumpets opposite the Levites, and all Israel stood.

7 And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was

in front of the house of the Lord because there he made burnt offerings

and the fat of peace offerings (because the bronze altar that Solomon

made was surely not able to contain the burnt offerings,

grain offerings, and fat offerings).

8 (Ge 15:18; 1Ki 8:65) And at the appointed time, Solomon made a feast

for seven days, and all Israel's a very great assembly-was with him,

from the entrance of Lebo Hamath in the north to the Brook of Egypt

in the south.

9 (Lev 23:36) Then on the eighth day they made a solemn assembly

because they had made a consecration of the altar for seven days

and then the feast for seven days more.

10 Then on the twenty-third day of the seventh month

Solomon sent the people away to their homes. They were joyful

and good of heart because of what the Lord had done for David,

Solomon, and His people Israel.

2 Chronicles 7

The Glory of the Lord

1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven,

and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD

filled the house.

2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD,

because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down,

and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their

faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD,

saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen,

and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people

dedicated the house of God.

6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments

of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD,

because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry;

and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was

before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings,

and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon

had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings,

and the meat offerings, and the fat.

8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel

with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath

unto the river of Egypt.

9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept

the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent

the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness

that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

1 Kings 9

The Lord Appears to Solomon

2Ch 7:11-22

1 (1Ki 9:19) When Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord

and the king's house and all else he desired,

2 (1Ki 3:5; 11:9; 2Ch 7:12) the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time,

as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.

3 (Dt 11:12; 1Ki 8:29) The Lord said to him,

"I have heard your prayer and supplication, which you made before Me.

I have consecrated this house which you built by putting

My name there forever. And My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.

4 (Ge 17:1; 1Ki 11:4) "If you will walk before Me,

as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness,

so that you are obedient to do all that I have commanded you,

and will keep My statutes and My judgments,

5 (1Ki 2:4; 6:12) then I will establish the throne of your kingdom

upon Israel forever, just as I promised to your father David, saying,

'You shall not fail to have a man upon the throne of Israel.'

6 (2Sa 7:14-16; 1Ch 28:9) 'But if you and your sons turn in any way

from following Me and do not keep My commandments

and My statutes which I have set before you, but go

and serve other gods and worship them,

7 (Dt 28:37; Ps 44:14) then I will cut Israel out of the land which I have

given them, and I will cast this house, which I have consecrated

for My name, out of My sight, and Israel shall be a proverb

and a byword among all people.

8 (Jer 22:8-9; Dt 29:24-26) And everyone who passes by this high house

will be astonished and will hiss, and they shall say,

'Why has the Lord done this to this land, and to this house?'

9 (Dt 29:25-28; Jer 2:10-13) And they will answer, 'Because they forsook

the Lord their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt,

and took hold of other gods and have worshipped and served them.

That is why the Lord has brought all this disaster upon them.' "

1 Kings 9

God's Covenant

1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house

of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which

he was pleased to do,

2 that the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared

unto him at Gibeon.

3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication,

that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast

built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be

there perpetually.

4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity

of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded

thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5 then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I

promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon

the throne of Israel.

6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will

not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go

and serve other gods, and worship them:

7 then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this

house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and

Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

8 and at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be

astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus

unto this land, and to this house?

9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought

forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other

gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD

brought upon them all this evil.

2 Chronicles 7

11 (1Ki 9:1-9) Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord

and the king's house. And Solomon successfully accomplished

everything that came into his heart to do in the house of the Lord

and in his own house.

The Lord Appears to Solomon

1Ki 9:1-9

12 (Dt 12:11; 1Ki 9:2) Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night,

and He said to Solomon,

"I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen for Myself in this place

a house of sacrifice.

13 (2Ch 6:26-28) "When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain,

or when I command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence

on My people,

14 (2Ch 6:27; 6:37-39) if My people, who are called by My name,

will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn

from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

15 (2Ch 6:40; 6:20) Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive

to the prayer of this place.

16 (2Ch 7:12) So now I have chosen and consecrated this house

that My name be there continually. My eyes and heart will be

there for all days.

17 "And you, if you walk before Me as David your father did to do

everything that I command you to do, and you keep My statutes and judgments,

18 (2Ch 6:16) then I will set the throne of your kingdom as I made a covenant

with David your father saying, 'You will not lack a man to rule Israel.'

19 (Lev 26:14; Dt 28:15) "But if the people turn aside and abandon

My statutes and commandments that I have given to you,

and you walk after and serve other gods and worship them,

20 (Dt 28:37; 29:28) then I will uproot them from My land that I have given

to them; and the house that I have consecrated for My name, I will throw it

from before Me and set it as a proverb and taunt among the peoples.

21 (Jer 22:8-9) And even though this house was majestic, it will lie desolate

before all who pass by it, and they will say, 'Why did the Lord do such

a thing to this land and this house?'

22 Then they will say, 'Because they abandoned the Lord, the God

of their fathers who brought them up from the land of Egypt,

and they took hold of other gods and worshipped and served them;

therefore He has brought on them all this disaster."

The Divine Covenant

11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house:

and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD,

and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard

thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to

devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,

and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear

from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is

made in this place.

16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be

there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked,

and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my

statutes and my judgments;

18 then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have

covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man

to be ruler in Israel.

19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I

have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given

them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of

my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that

passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this

land, and unto this house?

22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their

fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold

on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them:

therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

1 Kings 9

Solomon's Other Activities

2 Ch 8:1-18

10 (1Ki 6:37-7:1; 9:1) When twenty years had passed since Solomon

had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king's house

11 (2Ch 8:2) (now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar

and fir trees, along with gold, as he had requested), King Solomon gave Hiram

twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities Solomon had given him,

and he was not pleased with them.

13 (Jos 19:27) He said, "What cities are these which you have given me,

my brother?" And he called them the land of Kabul to this day.

14 (1Ki 9:11) Hiram sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents

[About 25 tons, or 23 metric tons.] of gold.

Cities and Ships

10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built

the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king's house,

11 (now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees

and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then

king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon

had given him; and they pleased him not.

13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother?

And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

Psalms 136

for His mercy endures forever;

12 with a strong hand and a stretched-out arm,

for His mercy endures forever;

13 to Him who divided the Red Sea into two,

for His mercy endures forever;

14 and made Israel to pass through the midst of it,

for His mercy endures forever;

15 but overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea,

for His mercy endures forever;

16 to Him who led His people through the wilderness,

for His mercy endures forever;

for His mercy endures forever;

18 and slew mighty kings,

for His mercy endures forever;

19 Sihon king of the Amorites,

for His mercy endures forever;

20 and Og king of Bashan,

for His mercy endures forever;

for His mercy endures forever;

24 and has redeemed us from our enemies,

2) Our Daily Bread for 13 June 2023 Titled

It's Empty Now

Lamentations 1:1,12-13,16-20

1 (1Ki 4:21; Ezr 4:20) How lonely sits the city

that was full of people!

How she has become like a widow,

who was once great among the nations!

She who was a princess among the provinces

has become a slave!

12 (Da 9:12) Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?

Look and see

if there is any sorrow like my sorrow,

which was brought upon me,

which the Lord has inflicted

on the day of His fierce anger.

13 (Job 30:30; Hab 3:16) From on high He has sent fire into my bones,

and it prevailed against them;

He has spread a net for my feet;

He turned me back;

He has made me desolate

and faint all the day long.

16 (La 1:2; Jer 13:17) For these things I weep;

my eyes flow with tears;

for the comforter, who should relieve my soul,

is far from me.

My children are desolate

for the enemy has prevailed.

17 (Jer 4:31; Isa 1:15) Zion spreads out her hands,

but there is no one to comfort her;

the Lord has commanded against Jacob

that his neighbors should be his adversaries;

Jerusalem has become a filthy thing among them.

18 (1Sa 12:14-15; Jer 12:1) The Lord is in the right,

for I have rebelled against His commandment.

Hear now, all peoples,

and see my sorrow;

my virgins and my young men

have gone into captivity.

19 (La 1:2; 1:11) I called for my lovers,

but they deceived me;

my priests and my elders

perished in the city,

while they sought food

to restore their strength.

20 (La 2:11; Dt 32:25) Look, O Lord, for I am in distress;

my soul is greatly troubled;

my heart is overturned within me,

for I have grievously rebelled.

In the street the sword bereaves,

at home it is like death.

[1] How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people how is she

become as a widow she that was was great among the nations, and princess

among the provinces, how is she become tributary

[12] Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be

any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD

hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

[13] From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against

them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made

me desolate and faint all the day.

[16] For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water,

because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my

children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.

[17] Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the

LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round

about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.

[18] The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment:

hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young

men are gone into captivity.

[19] I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine

elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to

relieve their souls.

[20] Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine

heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword

bereaveth, at home there is as death.

My brothers and our families spent the day moving our parents' belongings

from our childhood home. Late in the afternoon, we went back for one last

pickup and, knowing this would be our final time in our family home, posed

for a picture on the back porch. I was fighting tears when my mom turned to

me and said, "It's all empty now." That pushed me over the edge. The house that holds fifty-four years of memories is empty now. I try not to think of it.

The ache in my heart resonates with Jeremiah's first words of Lamentations:

"How deserted lies the city, once so full of people!" (1:1). An important

difference is that Jerusalem was empty "because of her many sins" (v. 5).

God exiled His people to Babylon because they rebelled against Him and

refused to repent (v. 18). My parents weren't moving because of sin, at least

not directly. But ever since Adam's sin in the garden of Eden, each person's

health has declined over their lifetime. As we age, it's not unusual for us

to downsize into homes that are easier to maintain.

I’m thankful for the memories that made our modest home special. Pain is the

price of love. I know the next goodbye won't be to my parents' home but to my

parents themselves. And I cry. I cry out to Jesus to come, put an end to

goodbyes, and restore all things. My hope is in Him.

Week 3 - Saved Now and Forever - Day 3 - Inseparable From God's Love

Romans 8:38-39

38 (Eph 1:21; 1Pe 3:22) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,

neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present

nor things to come,

39 (Ro 5:8) neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing,

shall be able to separate us from the love of God,

which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor

principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to

separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Separation is a fact of human life. Relationships disintegrate,

children grow up, loved ones die, husbands and wives divorce,

friends changes and drift apart. We may resist change and separation,

but we must deal with them nevertheless.

Separation sometimes is a natural result of growth and development;

sometimes it is a violent, cataclysmic shaking of an individual's life.

2 lifelong friends go separate ways to college or into future careers;

a church splits over doctrinal differences; a wife finds out a hidden

secret in her husband's past.

But with God, there is no separation, no death, no breaking of vows,

no growing beyond the relationship. Nothing, says Paul, can separate

us from the love of God. A skeleton in my closet, once revealed, may

cost me the trust of those I thought were my friends. But God knows

all my past, all my sin; he forgives, and it cannot separate me from him.

My present personal struggles may cause trouble in my job and result in

the loss of that income, but God understands what I'm going through,

and even when I'm angry at him, he can take it without drawing away

or striking back. My present problems cannot separate me from the Lord.

And God knows, too, the plan he has established for my future. I cannot

walk away from him, grow beyond my need for him, or outrun him into

tomorrow.

She may separate me from my awareness of God's presence in my life,

but it cannot set me beyond his reach. There is no power that is greater

than God's love, and no place I can go that will separate me

from that love.

Application

a) Have I ever felt separated from the love of God? Under what circumstances?

b) How can today's verse free me from anxiety about the past,

the present or the future?

4) Prosperity verses from Kenneth Copeland

Deut 8:18

18 But you must remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you

the ability to get wealth, so that He may establish His covenant which

He swore to your fathers, as it is today.

18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee

power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto

thy fathers, as it is this day.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

When you are lonely

PSALMS 25:15-21

15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,

for He will lead my feet from the net.

16 Turn to me, and be gracious to me,

for I am isolated and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;

bring me out of my distresses.

18 Look on my pain and misery,

and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider my enemies, for they are many,

and they hate me with violent hatred.

20 Watch over my life, and deliver me!

Let me not suffer shame,

for I seek refuge in You.

21 Truth and integrity will preserve me

while I wait for You.

15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD;

For he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me;

For I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged:

O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain;

And forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many;

And they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me:

Let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me;

For I wait on thee.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Quebec

Quick facts on Muslims in Quebec

Quebec 2015 population 8214 000

est Muslim Population 418946

CNMM Networks: Montreal

There is a growing Muslim population in Quebec City and a smattering

of Muslims scattered around the rest of the province, yet the vast majority

of Muslims live in the greater Montreal area. n fact, 23% of Canada's Muslim

population live in Quebec. Why is that? It is largely because Francophone

African Muslims are attracted to La Belle Provence.

And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more

Muslims in Montreal than there are evangelical Christians.

This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches

and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small

by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that

is often either indifferent to religion or resistant to it. And now

this 'new' religious community of Muslims - many of whom do not visibly

or socially conform to Quebec society - are a growing population. It might br

easy for Christians to feel overwhelm by this cultural double-whammy,

yet God has always worked miracles through the small, the few.

Agree in prayer for :

- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel

- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding

-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting

together for worship!

- For pastors and believers to be full of passion, faith and vision for

reaching Muslims in Quebec.

Adding further

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

Under the Keep Praying page

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

And

Thank you for praying through the

5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,

I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to

cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians

and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the

love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.

One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by

light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.

As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and

confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution

to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.

Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.

Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father

to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.

I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.

God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through

the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom

and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."

13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy

and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,

through the power of the Holy Spirit.

[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that

ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
