Now What? Walking with the Spirit,
based on Galatians 5:16-26
Spiritual Fruit and Fleshly Works
16 (Eph 2:3; Ro 8:4-5) I say then, walk in the Spirit,
and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 (Ro 8:5-8; 8:13) For the flesh lusts against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in opposition
to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
18 (Ro 8:14) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 (Mt 15:18-19; 1Co 3:3) Now the works of the flesh are revealed,
which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy,
rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies,
21 (Ro 13:13; 1Co 6:9-10) envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing,
and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you,
that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 (Eph 5:9; Ro 7:4) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 (Ac 24:25; 1Ti 1:9) meekness, and self-control; against
such there is no law.
24 (Ro 6:6; Gal 6:14) Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh
with its passions and lusts.
25 (Gal 5:16) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.

Adultery (Sexual Immorality),
fornication (Impurity),
uncleanness, lasciviousness, (lustful pleasures)
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft(Sorcery), hatred (HOstility),
variance(Quarreling), emulations(Jealousy), wrath (Outbursts of Anger),
strife(Selfish ambition), seditions(Dissension), heresies(Division),
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings(Wild Patries),
and such like: of the which
** I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.**
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering(patience),
gentleness(Kindness), goodness, faith(faithfulness),
[23] Meekness(Gentleness), temperance(self-control):
against such there is no law.
[24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections
and lusts.
[25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
[26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying

The newspaper declared that Pep had taken the life of the cat belonging to the
governor's wife-but he didn't do it. The only thing he may have been guilty of
was chewing the sofa at the governor's mansion.
Pep was a rambunctious young Labrador retriever owned by Pennsylvania's
governor Gifford Pinchot in the 1920s. The dog actually was sent to Eastern
State Penitentiary, where his mug shot was taken with a prisoner
identification number. When a newspaper reporter heard about it, he made up
the cat story. Because his report appeared in the newspaper, many believed
Pep really was a cat-killer.
Israel's King Solomon knew well the power of misinformation. He wrote, "The
words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost
parts" (Proverbs 18:8). Sometimes our fallen human nature causes us to want
to believe things about others that aren't true.
Yet even when others believe untruths about us, God can still use us for good.
In reality, the governor sent Pep to prison so he could be a friend to the
inmates there-and he served for many years as a pioneer therapy dog.
God's purposes for our lives still stand, regardless of what others say or
think. When others gossip about us, remember that His opinion-and His love
for us-is what matters most.

In the old Days of Television Western, we could always tell who the enemy was.
The bad guys wore black hats; the evil villain had a scar across
his cheek or a patch over one eye. But real life is
not quite so simple . Enemies come in many forms, and often are not easy to
recognise. Sin is an enemy; even those we love can seek
to undermine our faith;
modern materialism and distorted values lead us away from biblical principles.
These enemies may not seek our death in a physical sense,
but their influence results in spiritual death or, at the very least,
immaturity.
Yet God promises to rescue us from our enemies. David describes the Lord as a
"rock", a "shield", a "stronghold", and a "refuge". God provides a stable
foundation for our faith; he products us from the attacks of the enemy;
he offers a place of rest in battle.
Our battles are usually not physical ones, but rather spiritual
and emotional wars.
We struggle with difficult relationships, the burdens of the past,
the subtle accusations of the devil.
But these enemies can be overcome. David says,
"I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise" .
When we turn to the Lord, trust his Word, acknowledge his
worthiness, we put our own problems and difficulties in perspective.
We see that God is able to rescue us, and has promised to do so.
And as we respond to his grace by focusing
on him, we abandon trust in ourselves and allow him to do what he promised.

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg
The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

The newspaper declared that Pep had taken the life of the cat belonging to the
governor's wife-but he didn't do it. The only thing he may have been guilty of
was chewing the sofa at the governor's mansion.
Pep was a rambunctious young Labrador retriever owned by Pennsylvania's
governor Gifford Pinchot in the 1920s. The dog actually was sent to Eastern
State Penitentiary, where his mug shot was taken with a prisoner
identification number. When a newspaper reporter heard about it, he made up
the cat story. Because his report appeared in the newspaper, many believed
Pep really was a cat-killer.
Israel's King Solomon knew well the power of misinformation. He wrote, "The
words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost
parts" (Proverbs 18:8). Sometimes our fallen human nature causes us to want
to believe things about others that aren't true.
Yet even when others believe untruths about us, God can still use us for good.
In reality, the governor sent Pep to prison so he could be a friend to the
inmates there-and he served for many years as a pioneer therapy dog.
God's purposes for our lives still stand, regardless of what others say or
think. When others gossip about us, remember that His opinion-and His love
for us-is what matters most.

In the old Days of Television Western, we could always tell who the enemy was.
The bad guys wore black hats; the evil villain had a scar across
his cheek or a patch over one eye. But real life is
not quite so simple . Enemies come in many forms, and often are not easy to
recognise. Sin is an enemy; even those we love can seek
to undermine our faith;
modern materialism and distorted values lead us away from biblical principles.
These enemies may not seek our death in a physical sense,
but their influence results in spiritual death or, at the very least,
immaturity.
Yet God promises to rescue us from our enemies. David describes the Lord as a
"rock", a "shield", a "stronghold", and a "refuge". God provides a stable
foundation for our faith; he products us from the attacks of the enemy;
he offers a place of rest in battle.
Our battles are usually not physical ones, but rather spiritual
and emotional wars.
We struggle with difficult relationships, the burdens of the past,
the subtle accusations of the devil.
But these enemies can be overcome. David says,
"I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise" .
When we turn to the Lord, trust his Word, acknowledge his
worthiness, we put our own problems and difficulties in perspective.
We see that God is able to rescue us, and has promised to do so.
And as we respond to his grace by focusing
on him, we abandon trust in ourselves and allow him to do what he promised.

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
