1) Psalms 7, 27, 31
PSALMS 7
A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning
the words of Cush, a Benjamite.
1 O Lord my God, in You I put my trust;
save me from all those who persecute me, and deliver me,
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) lest they tear my soul like a lion,
rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) O Lord my God, if I have done this,
if there is iniquity in the palms of my hands,
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) if I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me,
or have delivered my adversary without cause,
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) then may the enemy pursue my life and overtake me;
may my enemy trample my life to the ground,
and lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Arise, O Lord, in Your anger;
rise up because of the rage of my adversaries,
and awaken Yourself for me; You have commanded justice.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) The congregation of the peoples surround You;
return above it to heaven's heights.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) The Lord will judge the peoples;
grant me justice, O Lord, according to my righteousness,

12 If one does not repent,
God will sharpen His sword;

He makes His arrows flaming shafts.
14 The wicked man writhes in pain of iniquity;
he has conceived mischief and brought forth falsehood.
15 He who digs a hole and hollows it
will then fall into his own pit.
16 His mischief will return on his own head;
his violence will descend on the crown of his own head.
17 I will thank the Lord according to His righteousness,
and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.
Psalm 7
[1] O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that
persecute me, and deliver me:

[3] O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
[4] If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have
delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
[5] Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my
life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
[6] Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of
mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
[7] So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their
sakes therefore return thou on high.
[8] The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my
righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
[9] Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the
just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

PSALMS 27
A Psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom will I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom will I be afraid?
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) When the wicked came against me
to eat my flesh-
my enemies and my foes-
they stumbled and fell.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Though an army should encamp against me,
my heart will not fear;
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) One thing I have asked from the Lord,
that will I seek after-
for me to dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to see the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in His temple.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) For in the time of trouble
He will hide me in His pavilion;
in the shelter of His tabernacle He will hide me;
He will set me up on a rock.

I will see the goodness of the Lord

Psalm 27

[14] Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine
heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
PSALMS 31
Ps 71:1-3
For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.
1 In You, O Lord, do I seek refuge;
may I never be ashamed;
deliver me in Your righteousness.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 ) Incline Your ear to me;
deliver me speedily;
be my strong rock,
a strong fortress to save me.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For You are my rock and my fortress;
for Your name's sake lead me and guide me.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Lead me out of the net that they have hidden for me,
for You are my strength.

while they took counsel together againstme,
they planned to take away my life.
14 But I trusted in You, O Lord;
I said, "You are my God."
15 My times are in Your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies
and my pursuers.
16 Make Your face to shine on Your servant;
save me by Your lovingkindness.
17 Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord,
for I have called on You;
let the wicked be ashamed,
and let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence,
who speak arrogantly
in pride and contempt against the righteous.
19 Oh, how great is Your goodness,
which You have laid up for those who fear You,
which You have done for those
seeking refuge in You before people!
20 You will hide them in the secret of Your presence
from conspirators;
You will keep them secretly in a shelter
from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the Lord,
for He has shown me His marvelous lovingkindness
in a fortified city.
22 For I said in my haste,
"I am cut off from before Your eyes."
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
when I cried to You.
23 Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints,
for the Lord preserves the faithful,
but amply repays the one who acts in pride.
24 Be strong, and He will strengthen your heart,
all you who wait for the Lord.

for an house of defence to save me.

[23] O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the
faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
[24] Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that

2) Our Daily Bread for 14 April 2022 titled
Uphill All the Way
2 Samuel 15:13-14,23-26
13 (Jdg 9:3; 2Sa 15:6) A messenger came to David and said,
"The hearts of the men of Israel are following Absalom."
14 (2Sa 19:9) David said to all of his servants who were with him
in Jerusalem, "Get up. We must flee or there will be no escape from
Absalom for us. Hurry up and leave, or he will soon reach us
and bring disaster upon us, striking the city with the edge of the sword."
22 So David said to Ittai, "Go on, pass by." So Ittai the Gittite passed by,
along with all of his men and all of the children
and elderly who were with him.
23 (2Sa 16:2; 1Ki 2:37) The whole land wept with a loud voice as
all the people passed by. Now the king was crossing over the brook Kidron,
and all of the people were crossing over on the road to the wilderness.
24 (Nu 4:15; 2Sa 8:17) And also Zadok and all of the Levites with him
were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God,
and Abiathar came up until all of the people had finished
passing from the city.
25 (Ex 15:13; Jer 25:30) The king said to Zadok, "Take the ark of God back
to the city. If I have found favor in the eyes of the Lord, He will bring me
back and allow me to see both it and its resting place.
26 (1Sa 3:18; 2Sa 22:20) But if He should say now, 'I take no delight in you,'

[13] And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of
Israel are after Absalom.

speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and
smite the city with the edge of the sword.
[23] And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed

[24] And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark

if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and
shew me both it, and his habitation:
[26] But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let
him do to me as seemeth good unto him.
Christina Rossetti, a poet and devotional writer, found that nothing came
easily for her. She suffered from depression and various illnesses throughout
her life and endured broken engagements. Eventually she died of cancer.
When David burst into Israel's national consciousness, it was as a triumphant
warrior. Yet throughout his life, David faced hardship. Late in his reign, his
own son, along with his trusted advisor and much of the country, turned
against him (2 Samuel 15:1-12). So David took the priests Abiathar and Zadok
and the sacred ark of God with him and fled Jerusalem (vv. 14, 24).
After Abiathar had offered sacrifices to God, David told the priests, "Take
the ark of God back into the city. If I find favour in the Lord's eyes, he
will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place again" (v. 25).
Despite the uncertainty, David said, "If [God] says, 'I am not pleased with
you,' . . . let him do to me whatever seems good to him" (v. 26).
He knew he could trust God.
Christina Rossetti trusted God too, and her life ended in hope. The road may
indeed wind uphill all the way, but it leads to our heavenly Father, who
awaits us with open arms.

In what ways has life seemed uphill and winding to you?
How will you trust God to lead you on the road you're traveling?
Dear God, this life seems so hard sometimes. Yet I trust You to do what's
right, for me and for everyone. Help me live in Your hope,
anticipating the day I'll be with You.

John 5:24

[24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth
on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
"PLEASE BE PATIENT - GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH ME YET,"
the sweatshirt read. In this case, the message was an ironic one,
for the occupant of the shirt was a snaggle-toothed, freckle-faced six year
old!
In one sense, God is not finished with the work he has to do in each of us.
Life in Christ is an ongoing process of change and growth as we become
more like him. Certainly, the more we see of ourselves, the more we hope
he isn't finished with us!
Yet whatever plans God has for making us into the men and women he created
us to be, certain aspects of our life in Christ are finished, finalised.
Jesus declares with absolute assurance, "whoever hears
My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life
and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death into life. "
Because we do not have to earn or deserve God's grace, because we are not
called to prove ourselves worthy of Salvation, we can have immediate
and total assurance of the security of life in Jesus Christ. The one who
put his trust in the Lord has eternal life; he will not be condemned;
he has crossed over from death to life.
This "crossing over" into life happens in the split second when we acknowledge
our dependence upon Christ alone. And the rest of our lives is given over to
the development of his image in us.
God is not finished with us yet.
But his work of salvation is finished - complete,
fully dependable an accomplished fact.
Application
a) Have I ever doubted the "accomplished fact" of my own salvation? Why?
b) How can today's verse help me realise that, although I may have a lot of
growing yet to do, my salvation in Jesus Christ is secure?

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg
The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

Rabat, Morocco's capital and one of the country's four imperial cities, is
a large urban area lying along the Atlantic coast. Although the nation
is quickly modernising and experiencing a rising standard of living,
Morocco is known for difficult living conditions, grinding poverty, child
labour, and religious persecution. Yet, despite these challenges,
today many Moroccans are coming to faith in Jesus through
radio programs and praise music in the Berber language.
These Jesus-followers are also assembling to form training
centers to reach their nation.

- Pray for the advancement of God's Kingdom throughout the 12 languages
of Rabat, Morocco, especially among the listed people groups.
- Pray for a mighty movement of prayer to be birthed in Rabat that multiplies
throughout the country.
- Pray for followers of Jesus to walk in the power of the Spirit.
- Pray for a resurrection of God's divine purpose for Rabat, Morocco .
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

2 Samuel 15:13-14,23-26
13 (Jdg 9:3; 2Sa 15:6) A messenger came to David and said,
"The hearts of the men of Israel are following Absalom."
14 (2Sa 19:9) David said to all of his servants who were with him
in Jerusalem, "Get up. We must flee or there will be no escape from
Absalom for us. Hurry up and leave, or he will soon reach us
and bring disaster upon us, striking the city with the edge of the sword."
22 So David said to Ittai, "Go on, pass by." So Ittai the Gittite passed by,
along with all of his men and all of the children
and elderly who were with him.
23 (2Sa 16:2; 1Ki 2:37) The whole land wept with a loud voice as
all the people passed by. Now the king was crossing over the brook Kidron,
and all of the people were crossing over on the road to the wilderness.

Christina Rossetti, a poet and devotional writer, found that nothing came
easily for her. She suffered from depression and various illnesses throughout
her life and endured broken engagements. Eventually she died of cancer.
When David burst into Israel's national consciousness, it was as a triumphant
warrior. Yet throughout his life, David faced hardship. Late in his reign, his
own son, along with his trusted advisor and much of the country, turned
against him (2 Samuel 15:1-12). So David took the priests Abiathar and Zadok
and the sacred ark of God with him and fled Jerusalem (vv. 14, 24).
After Abiathar had offered sacrifices to God, David told the priests, "Take
the ark of God back into the city. If I find favour in the Lord's eyes, he
will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place again" (v. 25).
Despite the uncertainty, David said, "If [God] says, 'I am not pleased with
you,' . . . let him do to me whatever seems good to him" (v. 26).
He knew he could trust God.
Christina Rossetti trusted God too, and her life ended in hope. The road may
indeed wind uphill all the way, but it leads to our heavenly Father, who
awaits us with open arms.

"PLEASE BE PATIENT - GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH ME YET,"
the sweatshirt read. In this case, the message was an ironic one,
for the occupant of the shirt was a snaggle-toothed, freckle-faced six year
old!
In one sense, God is not finished with the work he has to do in each of us.
Life in Christ is an ongoing process of change and growth as we become
more like him. Certainly, the more we see of ourselves, the more we hope
he isn't finished with us!
Yet whatever plans God has for making us into the men and women he created
us to be, certain aspects of our life in Christ are finished, finalised.
Jesus declares with absolute assurance, "whoever hears
My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life
and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death into life. "
Because we do not have to earn or deserve God's grace, because we are not
called to prove ourselves worthy of Salvation, we can have immediate
and total assurance of the security of life in Jesus Christ. The one who
put his trust in the Lord has eternal life; he will not be condemned;
he has crossed over from death to life.
This "crossing over" into life happens in the split second when we acknowledge
our dependence upon Christ alone. And the rest of our lives is given over to
the development of his image in us.
God is not finished with us yet.
But his work of salvation is finished - complete,
fully dependable an accomplished fact.
Application
a) Have I ever doubted the "accomplished fact" of my own salvation? Why?
b) How can today's verse help me realise that, although I may have a lot of
growing yet to do, my salvation in Jesus Christ is secure?

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.
Let us intercede in unity for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim
communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith in Jesus and stood her ground
in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
with great support

Rabat, Morocco's capital and one of the country's four imperial cities, is
a large urban area lying along the Atlantic coast. Although the nation
is quickly modernising and experiencing a rising standard of living,
Morocco is known for difficult living conditions, grinding poverty, child
labour, and religious persecution. Yet, despite these challenges,
today many Moroccans are coming to faith in Jesus through
radio programs and praise music in the Berber language.
These Jesus-followers are also assembling to form training
centers to reach their nation.

- Pray for the advancement of God's Kingdom throughout the 12 languages
of Rabat, Morocco, especially among the listed people groups.
- Pray for a mighty movement of prayer to be birthed in Rabat that multiplies
throughout the country.
- Pray for followers of Jesus to walk in the power of the Spirit.
- Pray for a resurrection of God's divine purpose for Rabat, Morocco .
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Conclusion:
Pray to the Lord and pray to the Lord for encouragment and protection
during turbulent times and times of Trouble.
Pray to the Lord: "Dear God, this life seems so hard sometimes.
Yet I trust You to do what's right, for me and for everyone.
Help me live in Your hope, anticipating the day I'll be with You."
Pray to the Lord and pray to now that your Salvation is assured in Jesus
Christ.
