Widow Point Nova Scotia - Gold Prospect
Property Description
The Widow Point Gold Prospect, located in Guysborough County, eastern Nova Scotia, is believed by the Corporation's managament to host high-grade lode gold mineralization considered unique in Meguma Group of metasediments of the Province of Nova Scotia. The Meguma Group is a belt 400 km long and 70 km wide and have had active mining in 65 "Gold Districts" over the past 145 years.
The Meguma Group is a turbidite sequence of interbedded slates and greywackes, Cambro-Ordovician in age. The east-northeast striking sequence has been folded into a series of chevron folds. Gold occurs in quartz veining where domal and/or cross structural features cut the axes of anticlinal folds. The mineralized quartz veins are present Silver saddle reefs and bedding parallel veins along the legs of the saddles. The higher grade veins occur in chlorite and graphite slip zones on the flanks of the anticline..
These rocks and their mineralization are similar in character to the
world
class "Saddle Reef Gold" deposits of Bendigo in Australia, which produced 18
million ounces of gold. The Widow Point property has similarities to the
tremendous 170 million ounce gold resource of the Muruntau deposit in
Uzbekistan.
In the Widow Point and Country Harbour area, these rocks have been cut by a major northwest striking fault and subjected to a sinistral rotation of more than 90 degrees, the sediments were subsequently intruded by granite.
Gold forms as fine to coarse grains hosted by; 1) White glassy quartz with
chlorite schist bands 2) white granular to smokey quartz with garnet and
staurolite in chloritized greywacke 3) remobilized streaks in chloritic
schist. Gold is associated with arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite and
galena. Mineralization is structurally controlled as quartz veins, breccia
and shear zones. There are at least 11 gold bearing zones outlined by
previous drilling. Approximately 15000' of drilling was conducted on the
property over the years. McPhearson (1978) believes the gold deposition is
related to activity of the Country Harbour Fault.
A bulk sample of 2x20m block at the Highland showing shaft returned 0.24
oz/t gold. Two subsequent bulk samples 1900 kg and 550 kg returned 0.79
oz/t gold and 0.97 oz/t gold respectively. A 6 ton sample taken in 1949
returned 1.59 oz/t gold.
Assays from previous drilling returned up to 2272 g/t (71oz/ton) gold.

We intend to compile existing data using 3D geological mapping software, the results of which will allow us to establish locations for an infill and step out drilling program anticipated to be conducted in 2005. We have budgeted $120 000 for a first phase drilling program.
