How do we compare with other providers in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada?



Telus on top ranked by Netcraft at 1234 down from 1226 and sometimes their Web Hosting is done by Internet Names for Business is ranked by nectraft at 665072 down from 662747.



Next we have Netzero at Netcraft Rank 2859 down from 2858.



Shaw Cable is next at Netcraft rank 11719 down from 11691. Their Web Hosting Arm, Big Pipe is at Netcraft rank 439901 down from 436469. One of the customers alocalchoice.com ranks 1139437 no change.



Next is 3 Web which ranks 20268 up from 20328. Their parent company Cybersurf is ranked 244230 by Netcraft.



We at Netknow are up 2468 from 44570.



Next, Uniserve ranks on Netcraft 46486 down from 46220. One of their acquitions interbaun ranks with Netcraft 299888 down from 293129.



After that we have Nucleus Internet Services which can be found at Netcraft Rank 109251 down from 109037. One of their customers The Alberta Liberal Party ranks 1963041 no change.



Next is Tera-Byte at Netcraft Rank 152441 which is down from 150420. One of their clients nexopia is ranked 5230 by Tera-Byte. Very Interesting!

Also another of their clients CA Registrar ranks 844645 up from 887174 . One of the acquitions Edmonton Community Networks ranks at 1220652 down from 1200552 and goedmonton.net ranks 8649474 same as last week 8649474.

Whilst looking for Netcraft and Google ranking tips and techniques, I came across Alexa. I came across Alexa and Firefox .

One may wonder why Firefox has not incorporated Alexa's toolbar. Is it that spybot - Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware SE personal and maybe even Spy Sweeper traditionally lists Alexa Toolbar as Spyware?? Not good.

Still getting back to Alexa and Firefox this page has 3 good firefox plugins that can help determine how well you rank on the web.



Conclusion: go to Alexa and Firefox with Firefox, download and install the 3 tools and enjoy. Once done, just right-click your web page and explore.

REcently some big Internet Provider announced that they are dropping USEnet Newsgroups aka Internet Newsgroups declaring that service passe.



I hope all their customers bolted and these providers have to shut down their internet operations!



USEnet is a cornerstone, fundamental and integral Internet service. Without it Internet would not exist!



Netknow declares it will carry USEnet unless the service dies a natural death. Also look at Google Groups which is Google Portal to Usenet.



Sorry, but if you do not have the internet fundamentals, you should perish. Saying USEnet/Internet Newsgroups are passe is as good as saying Internet e-mail is useless.

Netcraft seems to beeter keeping up to date. Alexa does not have our correct Fully Qualified Domain Name. There are using the old nl2k.ab.ca which is still registered to us, but forthe most part we are using nk.ca . I am VERY disapponted!
