Tour Guides

All of our journeys include the services of a professional tour guide and a tour manager. While the manager will ensure your comfort and satisfaction at all times, your guide will keep you informed about the surrounding sights and historic connections.

Kate Sizer will be the guide for the June and September tour, while Fraser Gordon will lead the July tour. Both Kate and Fraser are Blue Badge Scottish Tourist Guides and have a combined seventeen years of experience.

Kate Sizer
I've been involved in most aspects of tourism most of my life, though my first career was as a State Registered Nurse, which is often useful when travelling with a group of people! After marrying and raising a family I returned to University and in 1995 became a qualified Scottish Tourist Guide. This without doubt is one of the most satisfying and enjoyable jobs I have ever done. My main interests are History and Culture and I therefore do a lot of special interest groups. I work mainly in the Scottish Islands and Highlands, and occasionally France. I am very fortunate to live in such a beautiful country and it will give me great pleasure to introduce Scotland to you, after all, Scotland and Canada share so much of our past.

Fraser Gordon
Born in Glasgow, I grew up and spent my childhood in and around the city. I was educated at St Andrews University where I received my degree in French and in Scottish History. I have lived and worked in many places throughout the world, such as Geneva, London and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Professionally and privately I have travelled a great deal: Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Far East and the United States. However, nothing quite compares to the beauty and friendly atmosphere of Scotland, my home. For the last nine years I have been a Blue Badge Scottish Tourist Guide (I also guide in German and French), and enjoy sharing Scotland's history with anyone who is curious enough to listen.
