Sow 5 to 6 seeds 1 cm [1/2"] deep in hills 2 m [6'] apart. Thin to the best two or three plants. Watermelon needs hot weather and adequate moisture to develop. Consider using mulch around hills.

Sugar Baby - 75 days. Fruit almost round 15-20 cm [6-8"] Fruit averages 2.5-3.5 kg. Colour grayish-green with fine veining and the flesh is pink and sweet. Should be started indoors in peat pots until plants are a good size. Do not put out until after danger of frost.
