Sow seeds 2.5 cm [1"] apart and 1.5 cm [0.5"] deep.

Thin to 8-10 cm apart when plants are 8-10 cm tall.

To prevent scabs, ensure the soil is rich with humas.

For best taste and appearance, harvest when globe varieties are about 8 cm wide.

Beet - Formanova [Cylindra] - 55 days. A high quality cylindrical beet for slicing. Carrot shaped roots are 15 cm [6"] long by 5-8 cm [2-3"] in diameter, providing up to 4 times the number of uniform slices than other beets. Deep red colour, and fine texture. Excellent for commercial canneries and home gardeners.
