Ps 31:1-4

1 In You, O Lord, I seek refuge;

may I never be put to shame.

2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Deliver me in Your righteousness and help me escape;

incline Your ear to me and save me.

3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Be my rock of refuge

to enter continually;

You have given commandment to save me;

for You are my rock and my stronghold.

4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,

out of the hand of the unjust and cruel man.

5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) For You are my hope, O Lord God;

You are my confidence from my youth.

6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) On You I have supported myself from the womb;

You took me out of my mother's womb.

My praise will continually be about You.

7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) I am like a wondrous sign to many;

You are my strong refuge.

8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) My mouth will be filled with Your praise

and with Your glory all the day.

9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Do not cast me off in the time of old age;

do not forsake me when my strength fails.

10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) For my enemies speak against me;

and those who watch for my life take counsel together,

11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) saying, "God has forsaken him;

pursue and catch him,

for there is none to deliver him."

12 O God, do not be far from me;

O my God, act quickly to help me.

13 May the adversaries of my life be ashamed and confused;

may those who seek my harm

be enveloped in scorn and dishonor.

14 But I will hope continually,

and will add to all Your praise.

15 My mouth will declare Your righteousness

and Your salvation all the day,

for I cannot know their numbers.

16 I will go in the strength of the Lord God;

I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.

17 O God, You have taught me from my youth;

and until now I have proclaimed Your wondrous works.

18 Now also when I am old and gray,

O God, do not forsake me,

until I have proclaimed Your strength to this generation,

and Your power to everyone who is to come.

19 Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heights;

You have done great deeds;

O God, who is like You?

20 You who have shown me great distresses and troubles

will revive me again,

and will bring me up again

from the depths of the earth.

21 You will increase my greatness,

and You will encircle and comfort me.

22 I will give You thanks with the harp,

even Your truth, O my God;

to You I will sing with the lyre,

O Holy One of Israel.

23 My lips will rejoice

when I sing to You,

and my soul, which You have redeemed.

24 My tongue also will speak of Your righteousness

all the day long;

for those who seek my harm are ashamed,

for they have been put to shame.

Psalm 71

[1] In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

[2] Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine

ear unto me, and save me.

[3] Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou

hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

[4] Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of

the unrighteous and cruel man.

[5] For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

[6] By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me

out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

[7] I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

[8] Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

[9] Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength

faileth.

[10] For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul

take counsel together,

[11] Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is

none to deliver him.

[12] O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

[13] Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul;

let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

[14] But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

[15] My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the

day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

[16] I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy

righteousness, even of thine only.

[17] O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared

thy wondrous works.

[18] Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I

have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one

that is to come.

[19] Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great

things: O God, who is like unto thee!

[20] Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me

again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

[21] Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

[22] I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God:

unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

[23] My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul,

which

thou hast redeemed.

[24] My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for

they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

Psalms 94

1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs;

O God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.

2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Rise up, O Judge of the earth;

render to the proud what they deserve.

3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) O Lord, how long shall the wicked,

how long shall the wicked triumph?

4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) They spew forth their arrogant words;

all those who do iniquity boast.

5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) They break in pieces Your people, O Lord,

and afflict Your inheritance.

6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) They kill the widow and the sojourner,

and murder the fatherless.

7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) Yet they say, "The Lord does not see,

neither does the God of Jacob regard it."

8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Understand, you brutish among the people;

fools, when will you be wise?

9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) He who made the ear, shall He not hear?

He who formed the eye, shall He not see?

10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) He who chastises the nations, shall He not correct?

He teaches people knowledge!

11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) The Lord, He knows the thoughts of people,

that they are a breath.

12 Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O Lord,

and teach from Your law,

13 that You may give him rest from the days of adversity,

until a pit is dug for the wicked.

14 For the Lord will not forsake His people;

neither will He abandon His inheritance.

15 But justice shall return to those who are righteous,

and all the upright in heart shall followit.

16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?

Who will stand up for me against those who do iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help,

my soul would have lived in the land of silent death.

18 When I said, "My foot slips,"

Your mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 When there is a multitude of worries within me,

Your comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall wicked rulers, who make oppressive laws,

align with You?

21 They conspire together against the life of the righteous

and condemn innocent blood to death.

22 But the Lord is my defense,

and my God is the rock of my refuge.

23 He shall bring upon them their own iniquity

and shall cut them off for their own wickedness;

yes, the Lord our God shall destroy them.

Psalms 94

[1] O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance

belongeth, shew thyself.

[2] Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

[3] LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

[4] How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of

iniquity boast themselves?

[5] They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.

[6] They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

[7] Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob

regard it.

[8] Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be

wise?

[9] He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye,

shall he not see?

[10] He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth

man knowledge, shall not he know?

[11] The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

[12] Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out

of thy law;

[13] That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the

pit be digged for the wicked.

[14] For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his

inheritance.

[15] But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in

heart shall follow it.

[16] Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up

for me against the workers of iniquity?

[17] Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

[18] When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.

[19] In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

[20] Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth

mischief by a law?

[21] They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and

condemn the innocent blood.

[22] But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

[23] And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off

in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

When It's Time

1 Peter 5:6-11

6 (Jas 4:10; Mt 23:12) Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,

that He may exalt you in due time.

7 (Ps 55:22; 37:5) Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.

8 (Job 2:2; Eph 6:11) Be sober and watchful, because your adversary

the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

9 (Ac 14:22; Jas 4:7) Resist him firmly in the faith, knowing that

the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

10 (2Co 4:17; 2Th 2:17; 1Co 1:9) But after you have suffered a little while,

the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory through Christ

Jesus, will restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.

11 (1Pe 4:11) To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may

exalt you in due time:

[7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring

lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

[9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are

accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

[10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by

Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,

stablish, strengthen, settle you.

[11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

When my friends Al and Kathy Schiffer flew their iconic, World War II-era

airplane to airshows, it was the reactions of the elderly war veterans

that meant the most to them. They would come by so they could talk about

the wars they served in and the airplanes they flew. Most of their battle

stories were told with tears in their eyes. Many have said that the best

news they received while serving their country were the words,

"The war is over, boys. It's time to go home."

These words from an earlier generation relate to the war believers

in Jesus are engaged in—our good fight of faith against the devil,

the enemy of our souls. The apostle Peter warned us:

"Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking

for someone to devour." He tempts us in various ways and uses

discouragement in suffering and persecution to try to draw us away

from our faith in Jesus. Peter challenged his first readers and us

today to "be alert and of sober mind" (1 Peter 5:8).

We depend on the Holy Spirit so we won't let the enemy cause

us to surrender the fight and bring us down.

We know that one day Jesus will return. When He comes, His words

will have an effect similar to that felt by wartime soldiers,

bringing tears to our eyes and joy to our hearts:

"The war is over, children. It's time to go Home."

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace - Day 2 The Wardrobe of Joy Isaiah 61:10

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God;

for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God;

for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me

with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself

with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

On her wedding day, the bride dresses carefully for the ceremony

that is about to take place. Never before has she spent so much

time in preparation for one relatively brief event. When she

looks in the mirror and rejoices in her happiness, she responds not

out of vanity, but for sheer joy as she anticipates the coming ceremony.

God wants his people, lie that bride to be joyful, to rejoice in the Lord,

the Bridegroom. And he gives, through his grace,

the garments of joy to his beloved ones.

He clothes us, Isaiah says, with salvation, and covers us with

the robe of righteousness. The wardrobe that God provides is not merely

a utility garment, a coverall that hides our sin from his eyes.

It is his own righteousness in Christ, given to us as a free gift, so that

we might be united with him. And God himself, Isaiah says,

is filled with joy, adorning himself like a bridegroom.

When we truly see God's immeasurable gift in accepting us as him own,

we also will "greatly rejoice" in the Lord. He, the eternal god,

Creator of the universe, desires to be united with us, as a husband

desires his wife! God does not simply accept us grudgingly,

reminding us of our unworthiness to be with him. Rather, he celebrates

with unrestrained joy his oneness in Spirit with those he calls his own.

And we, having been fully forgiven

and set free from sin, can rejoice unashamedly as well.

Application

a) Have I ever felt ashamed to draw close to God? Why?

b) What does this verse tell me about God's attitude towards me?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Romans 13:7-8

7 (Mt 17:25; 22:21) Render to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes

are due, respect to whom respect is due, fear to whom fear is due,

and honor to whom honour is due.

8 (Ro 13:10; Mt 7:12) Owe no one anything, except to love one another,

for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due;

custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth

another hath fulfilled the law.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

God's Eternal Faithfulness

Ps 117

1 Praise the Lord, all you nations! Exalt Him, all you peoples!

2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) For His merciful kindness is great toward us,

and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

1 O praise the LORD,

All ye nations: Praise him, all ye people.

2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us:

And the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.

Praise ye the LORD.

Remember God's promises when You pray

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,

hallowed be Your name.

10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

Your will be done

on earth, as it is in heaven.

11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.

12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Ontario has 55% of all of Canada's entire Muslim population. This means that

the whole of the Muslim world is represented somewhere in this province. Most

Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching

from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly

resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques

are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools

are starting.

And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their

advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,

the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour

brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of

"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of

receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town

reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.

Agree in prayer for:

- net network leaders - the need is great

- the development of network leadership teams

- good connections with local pastors, congregations and individuals

whom God is calling into this ministry.

- wisdom facilitating outreach and training activities for mobilising

believers

- new full and part-time workers among Muslims throughout all these areas

- for pastors and churches to respond not in fear, but full of faith and love

towards Muslims, sharing Jesus with them.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Footnotes

Acts 2:21 Joel 2:28-32.

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective

discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for

Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the

house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving

Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

And

Thank you for praying through the

5 Days of Prayer for Sikhs.

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager,

I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to

cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians

and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the

love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.

One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by

light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.

As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and

confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution

to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.

Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction.

Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father

to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.

I ask you to continue praying with me, and others around the world, for Sikhs.

God is the only one who can draw people to Himself. He works in and through

the prayers of His people. I want Sikhs to know the freedom

and healing that is only available through Jesus Christ."

13 (Ro 14:17; 12:12) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy

and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope,

through the power of the Holy Spirit.

[13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that

ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
