Luke 18:9-14
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 (Lk 16:15; Isa 65:5) He told this parable to some who trusted
in themselves, as though they were righteous, and despised others:
10 (Ac 3:1) "Two men went up to the temple to pray,
the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 (Mt 6:5; Mk 11:25) The Pharisee stood and prayed these things
about himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men:
extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 (Lk 11:42; Mt 9:14; Mal 3:8) I fast twice a week, and I tithe
of all that I earn.'
13 (Lk 23:48; Ezr 9:6) "But the tax collector, standing at a distance,
would not even lift his eyes to heaven, but struck his chest, saying,
'God, be merciful to me a sinner.'
14 (Lk 14:11; Mt 23:12) "I tell you, this man went down to his house
justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself
will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
[9] And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that
they were righteous, and despised others:
[10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the
other a publican.
[11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee,
that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as
this publican.
[12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
[13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his
eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a
sinner.
[14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the
other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that
humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Mark 10:1-12
Teaching About Divorce
Mt 19:1-12
1 (Jn 10:40; 11:7) He arose and went from there to the region of Judea
to the other side of the Jordan, and the people came to Him again.
And again, as was His custom, He taught them.
2 (Jn 8:6) The Pharisees came to test Him, asking,
"Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
3 He answered them, "What did Moses command you?"
4 (Dt 24:1-4) They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate
of divorce and to divorce her.”
5 (Mt 19:8) Jesus answered them, "Due to the hardness of your heart
he wrote you this precept.
6 (Ge 1:27; 5:2) But from the beginning of the creation, God
'made them male and female.'(Ge 1:27).
7 (Ge 2:24; Eph 5:31) 'For this cause shall a man leave his father
and mother, and cleave to his wife,
8 (1Co 6:16) and the two shall be one flesh.' So then they are
no longer two, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."
10 In the house His disciples asked Him concerning this matter again.
11 (Lk 16:18) He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife
and marries another commits adultery against her.
12 (1Co 7:11) And if a woman divorces her husband
and marries another, she commits adultery.”
[1] And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the
farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was
wont, he taught them again.
[2] And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to
put away his wife? tempting him.
[3] And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
[4] And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put
her away.
[5] And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he
wrote you this precept.
[6] But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
[7] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to
his wife;
[8] And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but
one flesh.
[9] What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
[10] And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
[11] And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry
another, committeth adultery against her.
[12] And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another,
she committeth adultery.
Matthew 19:1-12
Teaching About Divorce
Mk 10:1-12
1 (Jn 10:40) Now when Jesus finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee
and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 (Mt 12:15) Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
3 (Jn 8:6) The Pharisees also came to Him, tempting Him and saying,
"Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"
4 (Ge 1:27; 5:2) He answered, "Have you not read that He who made them
at the beginning ;made them male and female,' (Ge 1:27; 5:2).
5 (1Co 6:16; Eph 5:31) and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father
and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'
(Ge 2:24.)?
6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined
together, let no man put asunder."
7 (Dt 24:1-4; Mt 5:31) They said to Him, "Then why did Moses command to give
a certificate of divorce, and to send her away?" Dt 24:1-4.
8 (Ge 2:24) He said to them, "Moses, for the hardness of your hearts,
permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 (Mt 5:32; 1Co 7:39; Lk 16:18) But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife,
except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.
And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."
10 His disciples said to Him, "If such is the case of the man with his wife,
it is not good to marry."
11 (1Co 7:17; Mt 13:11) But He said to them, "Not all men can receive
this precept, but only those to whom it is given.
12 For there are some eunuchs who have been so from birth, there are some
eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are some eunuchs
who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.
He who is able to receive this, let him receive it."
[1] And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he
departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
[2] And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
[3] The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is
it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
[4] And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made
them at the beginning made them male and female,
[5] And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall
cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
[6] Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath
joined together, let not man put asunder.
[7] They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of
divorcement, and to put her away?
[8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts
suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
[9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for
fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso
marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
[10] His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife,
it is not good to marry.
[11] But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to
whom it is given.
[12] For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's
womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there
be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's
sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
Mark 10:13-16
Little Children Blessed
Mt 19:13-18; Lk 18:15-17
13 (Mt 19:13-15; Mk 10:48) They brought young children to Him,
that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, He was very displeased and said to them,
"Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them,
for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 (Mt 18:3; Lk 18:17) Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive
the kingdom of God as a little child shall not enter it."
16 (Mk 9:36) And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them,
and blessed them.
[13] Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put
his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
[14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
[15] And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
[16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing
shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Matthew 19:13-15
Little Children Blessed
Mk 10:13-16; Lk 18:15-17
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put
His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 (Mt 18:3; Lk 18:16-17) But Jesus said, "Let the little children come
to Me, and do not forbid them. For to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
15 He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
[13] And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and
his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
[14] But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them,
Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such
is the kingdom of God.
[15] Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God
as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
[16] And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed
them.
Luke 18:15-17
Little Children Blessed
Mt 19:13-15; Mk 10:13-16
15 (Mt 19:13-15; Mk 10:13-16) They also brought infants to Him
that He might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Permit the little children
to come to Me, and do not hinder them. For
to such belongs the kingdom of God.
17 (Mk 10:15) Truly, I say to you, whoever will not receive the kingdom
of God as a little child will in no wise enter it."
[15] And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but
when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
[16] But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to
come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
[17] Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God
as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Mark 10:17-31
The Rich Man
Mt 19:16-30; Lk 18:18-30
17 (Mk 1:40; Lk 18:18-30) When He set out on His way, a man came running
and knelt before Him, and asked Him,
"Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
18 He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.
19 (Ex 20:12-17; Lk 18:20) You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery,
Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor
your father and mother.(Ex 20:12-16; Dt 5:16-20.)"
20 (Mt 19:20; Php 3:6) He answered Him,
"Teacher, all these have I observed from my youth."
21 (Lk 12:33; Ac 2:45) Then Jesus, looking upon him, loved him
and said to him, "You lack one thing: Go your way, sell whatever you have
and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.
And come, take up the cross and follow Me."
22 (Eze 33:31) He was saddened by that word, and he went away grieving.
For he had many possessions.
23 (Mk 3:5; 1Co 1:26) Jesus looked around and said to His disciples,
"How hard it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!"
24 (Ps 52:7; Pr 11:28) The disciples were astonished at His words.
But Jesus answered again, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust
in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
26 They were astonished beyond measure, saying among themselves,
"Who then can be saved?"
27 (Mt 19:26; Job 42:2) Jesus, looking at them, said,
"With men it is impossible, but not with God.
For with God all things are possible."
28 Peter began to say to Him, "Look, we have left everything
and have followed You."
29 (Mk 8:35) Jesus answered, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has
left a house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children
or fields, for My sake and for the gospel's sake,
30 (Mt 12:32) who shall not receive a hundred times as much now in this age,
houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields,
with persecution, and in the age to come, eternal life.
31 (Mt 19:30; 20:16) But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
[17] And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?
[18] And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God.
[19] Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do
not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and
mother.
[20] And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed
from my youth.
[21] Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou
lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and
thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow
me.
[22] And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great
possessions.
[23] And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly
shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
[24] And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth
again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in
riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
[25] It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a
rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
[26] And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who
then can be saved?
[27] And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not
with God: for with God all things are possible.
[28] Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have
followed thee.
[29] And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man
that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or
wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
[30] But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with
persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
[31] But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Matthew 19:16-30
The Rich Young Man
Mk 10:17-31; Lk 18:18-30
16 (Mt 25:46; Jn 3:15) Now one came and said to Him,
"Good Teacher, what good deed shall I do to have eternal life?"
17 (Lev 18:5; Ro 10:5) He replied to him, "Why do you call Me good?
There is One who is good. But if you would enter life, keep the commandments."
18 He said to Him, "Which ones?"
Jesus said, "You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery,
You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,
(Ex 20:13-16; Dt 5:17-20).
19 (Lev 19:18; Mt 22:39; Ex 20:12) Honor your father and your mother,
(Ex 20:12; Dt 5:16) and,
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.(Lev 19:18.)"
20 (Php 3:6) The young man said to Him, "All these I have kept from my youth.
What do I still lack?"
21 (Lk 12:33; Ac 2:45) Jesus said to him, "If you would be perfect,
go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me."
22 (Eze 33:31) But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful.
For he had great possessions.
23 (Mt 13:22; Mk 10:23) Then Jesus said to His disciples,
"Truly, I say to you that it will be hard for a rich man
to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 (Mk 10:24-25; Lk 18:25) And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man
to enter the kingdom of God."
25 When His disciples heard this, they were greatly amazed, saying,
"Who then can be saved?"
26 (Job 42:2; Lk 1:37; Ge 18:14) But Jesus looked at them and said,
"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
27 Then Peter answered Him, "See, we have left everything and followed You.
What then shall we have?"
28 (Rev 3:21; Mt 25:31) Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you,
in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne,
you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 (Lk 14:26; Mt 19:16) And everyone who has left houses or brothers
or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for My name's
sake shall receive a hundred times as much and inherit eternal life.
30 (Mt 20:16; Mk 10:31) But many who are first will be last,
and the last first."
[16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing
shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but
one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou
shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
witness,
[19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself.
[20] The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my
youth up: what lack I yet?
[21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou
hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come
and follow me.
[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for
he had great possessions.
[23] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich
man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the
eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
[25] When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who
then can be saved?
[26] But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible.
[27] Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all,
and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
[28] And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have
followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne
of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve
tribes of Israel.
[29] And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or
father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall
receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
[30] But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
Luke 18:18-30
The Rich Ruler
Mt 19:16-30; Mk 10:17-31
18 A certain ruler asked Him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to
inherit eternal life?"
19 Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good,
except God alone.
20 (Ro 13:9; Ex 20:12-17) You know the commandments:
Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal,
Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother.
(Ex 20:12-16; Dt 5:16-20.)"
21 (Php 3:6) He said, "All these I have kept since my youth."
22 (Lk 12:33; Mt 6:19-20) When Jesus heard this, He said to him,
"Yet you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute
to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me."
23 (Eze 33:31)When he heard this he became very sorrowful, for he was very
rich.
24 (Pr 11:28) When Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said,
"How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than
for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
26 Those who heard this said, "Who then can be saved?"
27 (Mt 19:26; Ge 18:14) He said, "What is impossible with men
is possible with God."
28 (Lk 5:11) Peter said, "Look, we have left everything and followed You."
29 He said to them, “Truly, I tell you, there is no man who has left
his home or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake
of the kingdom of God,
30 (Job 42:10; Mt 12:32) who shall not receive many times more in this age
and, in the age to come, eternal life."
[18] And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to
inherit eternal life?
[19] And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save
one, that is, God.
[20] Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do
not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
[21] And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
[22] Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou
one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou
shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
[23] And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
[24] And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly
shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
[25] For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a
rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
[26] And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
[27] And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with
God.
[28] Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
[29] And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath
left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom
of God's sake,
[30] Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the
world to come life everlasting.

Proverbs 27:17-27
17 Iron sharpens iron,
so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
18 (1Co 9:7; SS 8:12) Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit;
so he who waits on his master will be honored.
19 As in water face answers to face,
so the heart of man to man.
20 (Pr 30:15-16; Ecc 1:8) Death and destruction are never full;
so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
21 (Pr 17:3) As the refining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold,
so is a man to his praise.
22 (Pr 23:35; Jer 5:3) Though you should grind a fool in a mortar
among wheat with a pestle,
yet his foolishness will not depart from him.
23 (1Pe 5:2) Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
and look well to your herds;
24 (Pr 23:5) for riches are not forever,
nor does the crown endure to every generation.
25 The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself,
and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
26 The lambs are for your clothing,
and the goats are the price of the field.
27 You will have goats' milk enough
for your food, for the food of your household,
and for the maintenance of your maidens.
[17] Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
[18] Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that
waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
[19] As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
[20] Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never
satisfied.
[21] As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to
his praise.
[22] Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a
pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
[23] Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy
herds.
[24] For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every
generation?
[25] The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of
the mountains are gathered.
[26] The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
[27] And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of
thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
Louise, a project manager, regretted taking on the freelance job. Both
the client and designer were testing her patience. Why is it so difficult?
she wondered. Why can't these people get it together?
Weeks later, as she read Proverbs 27, verse 17 stood out -"iron sharpens
iron." "You can't file down rough edges with something soft, like silk,"
she told her small group soon after. "You need something hard, like iron."
Louise realized that the challenges in the project were smoothing down some
rough edges of her own. She was learning to be more patient and humble,
and to adapt to different working styles. God, she concluded, was using
the project to expose her flaws and teach her new lessons about working
with others.
Much of the book of Proverbs extols the value of godly wisdom, but this wisdom
doesn't come easily. It needs to be sought after with obedience
and discernment (3:13; 13:20; 19:20), and refined in crucibles and furnaces,
with mortars and pestles (27:21-22) - situations that may mean temporary pain
and suffering.
Yet the Bible reminds us that challenges come with rewards: In seeking God's
wisdom diligently and obeying His ways, we’ll find true security,
satisfaction, and blessing (vv. 26-27).
Reflect & Pray
What lessons can you learn from difficult situations you're facing?
How might God be refining and shaping you to be more like His Son, Jesus?
Loving Father, please grant me strength
to endure my trials and a humble heart to learn from life's challenges.
Thank You for shaping and moulding me each day.

Week 6 Showing Grace to Others - Day 5 When you pray
Mark 11:25
25 And when you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone,
so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your sins.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
"My prayer don't seem to be very effective," a man told his pastor." I try
to make contact with God, but my prayers seem to hit the ceiling and bounce
back."
The pastor thought for a moment, then gently suggested,
"Is there someone in your life you haven't forgiven?"
"What do you mean?" The man's face flushed; the pastor has obviuosly struck
a nerve. "Well, I guess I've had some struggles with my mother ... and then,
my wife, and I ... ." The hidden truth came to light: the man was bound in
unforgiving relationships with five of the closest people to him.
Forgiveness is an essential element in prayer. For a very good reason,
worship services in liturgical churches place the confession of sin and the
absolution near the beginning of the service, before the reading of God's
Word, prayer, and the sermon. Forgiveness - both the Lord's forgiveness
of us and our forgiveness of others - clears the way for unhindered
communication between God and his people.
When we carry anger and bitterness, or even deeply buried, well-subliminated
unforgiveness, into the presence of God, our prayers will be affected. We can,
however, free the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and the lives of others
through forgiveness. We can choose to forgive in light of God's forgiveness
of us. And when we do, the channels are re-established;
we can pray in power and open ourselves to an awareness of his activity
in our lives.
Application
a) Have my prayers ever been affected by unforgiveness in my life?
b) Is there someone in my life whom I need to forgive,
whether or not I can work toward?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Ps 35:27
27 May those who favour my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad;
may they say continually, "The Lord be magnified,
who delights in the peace of His servant."
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause:
Yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified,
which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:
God's Generous Provision
Matthew 6:24-34
God and Money
24 (Lk 16:13; 16:11; 16:9) "No one can serve two masters.
For either he will hate the one and love the other,
or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and money."
Care and Anxiety
Lk 12:22-34
25 (Mt 6:31; 6:34; Php 4:6) "Therefore, I say to you,
take no thought about your life, what you will eat,
or what you will drink, nor about your body,
what you will put on. Is not life more than
and the body than clothing?
26 (Job 38:41; Ps 147:9) Look at the birds of the air,
for they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns.
Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
27 Who among you by taking thought can add a cubit
(A cubit is about half a meter.) to his stature?
28 (Mt 6:25; 6:31) "Why take thought about clothing?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:
They neither work, nor do they spin.
29 (1Ki 10:4-7; 2Ch 9:4-6) Yet I say to you that even Solomon
in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
30 (Mt 8:26; 14:31) Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field,
which today is here and tomorrow is thrown into the oven,
will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 (1Pe 5:7) Therefore, take no thought, saying, 'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 (Mt 6:8; Lk 12:30) (For the Gentiles seek after all these things.)
For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
33 (1Ti 4:8; 1Ki 3:11-13) But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.
34 (Mt 6:25) Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself.
Sufficient to the day is the trouble thereof.
True Wisdom
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one,
and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat,
or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not
the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor
gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much
better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is,
and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat?
or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek
for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Remember God's promises when You pray
The Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?)
Prince Edward Island
Total population 146300
Muslim population (est.) 1127
Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.
More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Association of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.
The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede together for:
- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of Peace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual ways to share the Gospel
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and people , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for relationship with the Father
through the Son.

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020
Under the Keep Praying page
When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."
Peter's Speech at Pentecost
14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'
- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...)

[7] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to
his wife;
[1] And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he
departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

But the disciples rebuked them.

to Me, and do not forbid them.
[16] And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed
them.

[26] But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible.

18 (1Co 9:7; SS 8:12) Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit;
so he who waits on his master will be honored.
19 As in water face answers to face,
so the heart of man to man.
20 (Pr 30:15-16; Ecc 1:8) Death and destruction are never full;
so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
23 (1Pe 5:2) Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
and look well to your herds;

We can choose to forgive in light of God's forgiveness
of us. And when we do, the channels are re-established;
we can pray in power and open ourselves to an awareness of his activity
in our lives.
Application
a) Have my prayers ever been affected by unforgiveness in my life?
b) Is there someone in my life whom I need to forgive,
whether or not I can work toward?
4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland
Ps 35:27
27 May those who favour my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad;
may they say continually, "The Lord be magnified,
who delights in the peace of His servant."
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.

17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...)
