When you are Saddened by Loss

1 Cor 15:35-38,51-57

35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised up?

With what body do they come?"

36 You fool! What you sow is not made alive unless it dies.

37 When you sow, you do not sow the body that shall be, but a bare kernel,

perhaps of wheat or of some other grain.

38 Then God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall

all be changed.

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet,

for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible,

CNMM Networks: Saskatoon

Saskatoon has seen quick growth in its Muslim population over the past

5 years, which maybe as high as 5000 today. Islamic leaders have

focused specifically on this city , having twice already sent cohorts

of about 70 families to start mosques. There are now 7 Islamic centres

of worship and an ISlamic madrassah (school) located right next to a

Christian school.

Of particular concern recently is the number of young adults who grew up

in evangelical churches and converted to Islam. Most of these are young

women who were wooed by Muslim man and became emotionally bonded.

Both prior to and after marrying, these women are known to convert to ISlam.

Agree in prayer with us for:

- entire congregations and individual believers to catch God's heart

and passion for reaching Muslims in Saskatoon and the other growing

Muslim population centres of Saskatchewan.

- for the eyes and understanding of Canadian youth to be opened to the

spiritual reality of Islam, and not deceived nor manipulated into

converting to a religion which cannot offer assurance of salvation.

- for the few workers among Muslims now engaged there, and for many more

to be raised up into effective witness.

- for prayer and training events that are starting in Saskatoon

to spread and grow to other cities.

Adding further

Pray for Palestinians in Gaza

Deir al Balah in the Gaza Strip has been a frequent political target, but

for Shireen, it was home. A daughter in a family of ten, she was luckier

than some, eventually being able to study at Al-Azhar University in Gaza.

When she met Christians who brought relief supplies and the Word of God,

her life was transformed as she became a believer in Jesus.

Shireen eventually married Mahmoud, a man who treated her quite poorly.

She was ignored and left to fend for herself and her children when he was

jailed for debt. The desperate situation in Gaza often meant she and the

children would go for days without food and her mother's heart had to

listen to them crying themselves to sleep. She longed to escape.

God intervened and changed her heart. Shireen explains, "Jesus has called

me to be a woman of God in the Gaza Strip. I am needed here and have this

special assignment from God. My little sister loves Jesus now and we pray

together and share scripture with each other. And I tell other

Palestinians how to find eternal life in Jesus in a place that is known

for war and death."

Believers around the world prayed for her husband, Mahmoud, who was not

interested in Jesus. Then, not long ago, he had a powerful change and

began to follow Jesus himself. He grew to become an attentive husband and

often texted verses saying they were "quotes from my four best friends:

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John!"

Mahmoud has also suffered. He has been badly beaten for his faith, yet

rejects sympathy saying, "The only question we should ask is if my scars

have conformed me more to the image of Christ."

How to Pray

Pray for peace in Gaza and for the ongoing war and humanitarian

crisis to be resolved.

Ask Jesus to reveal Himself in dreams and visions to the people in

Gaza.

* Pray for Palestinian believers to be just not Jesus followers, but

also prophets and apostles to their own people.

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

a) Pray for the Lord to convict all Canadians of His Righteous

standards of living (John 16: 8 - 11

b) Pray for the province of Nova Scotia

I) Pray for the leaders of Nova Scotia, that God's Spirit would influence

them to act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards.

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications, prayers,

intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,

2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,

that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,

3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our

Savior,

4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,

NUMBERS 34

The Borders of Canaan

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2 (Ge 17:8; Ps 105:11) Command the children of Israel, and say to them:

When you are going into the land of Canaan, this is the land that will fall

to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan with its borders.

3 (Ge 14:3; Eze 47:13) Then your south side will be from the Wilderness

of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border will be

the end of the Dead Sea to the east.

4 (Nu 32:8) And your border will turn from the south

to the Ascent of Akrabbim, and continue to Zin, and the end of it will be

from the south to Kadesh Barnea. Then it will continue to Hazar Addar,

and pass on to Azmon.

5 (Jos 15:4; Ge 15:18; Jos 15:47) And the border will circle around

from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and the end of it will be

at the Mediterranean Sea.

6 For the western border, you will have the Mediterranean Sea

and its coastline. This will be your western border.

7 (Nu 33:37) This will be your northern border:

From the Mediterranean Sea you will mark a line to Mount Hor;

8 (Nu 13:21; 2Ki 14:25) from Mount Hor you will mark a line of your border

to Lebo Hamath, and the limits of the border will be to Zedad.

9 (Eze 47:17) And the border will go on to Ziphron, and the limits of it will

be at Hazar Enan. This will be your northern border.

10 You will mark a line for your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham.

11 (Dt 3:17; 2Ki 23:33) And the border will go down from Shepham to Riblah,

on the east side of Ain, and the border will go down and will reach the side

of the Sea of Kinnereth to the east.

12 (Nu 34:3) And the border will go down to the Jordan, and the limits of it

will be at the Dead Sea.

This will be your land with its borders all around.

13 Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying:

This is the land which you will possess by lot,

which the Lord commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half-tribe

14 (Nu 32:33) because the tribe of the children of Reuben by the house

of their fathers and the tribe of the children of Gad by the house of their

fathers have received their inheritance, and half the tribe of Manasseh

has received their inheritance.

15 The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance

on this side of the Jordan near Jericho to the east, toward the sunrise.

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

The Leaders to Divide the Land

16 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

18 You will take one leader of each tribe to divide the land by inheritance.

19 (Nu 26:65; 13:30) These are the names of the men:

of the tribe of Judah,

Caleb the son of Jephunneh;

20 of the tribe of the children of Simeon,

Shemuel the son of Ammihud;

21 of the tribe of Benjamin,

Elidad the son of Kislon;

22 the leader of the tribe of the children of Dan,

Bukki the son of Jogli;

23 the leader of the children of Joseph,

for the tribe of the children of Manasseh,

Hanniel the son of Ephod;

24 the leader of the tribe of the children of Ephraim,

Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;

25 the leader of the tribe of the children of Zebulun,

Elizaphan the son of Parnak;

26 the leader of the tribe of the children of Issachar,

Paltiel the son of Azzan;

27 the leader of the tribe of the children of Asher,

Ahihud the son of Shelomi;

28 the leader of the tribe of the children of Naphtali,

Pedahel the son of Ammihud.

29 These are the ones whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance

among the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

[16] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

NUMBERS 35

The Levites' Cities

(Dt 4:41-43; 19:1-14; Jos 20:1-9)

1 (Nu 22:1) And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab

by Jordan near Jericho, saying:

2 (Jos 14:3-4; Eze 48:8) Command the children of Israel,

and they will give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession

cities to dwell in, and you will give the Levites pasturelands

around the city.

3 The cities will be for them to dwell in, and their pasturelands will be

for their livestock, and for their property, and for all their animals.

4 The pasturelands of the cities, which you will give to the Levites,

will reach from the wall of the city

and beyond one thousand cubits

(About 1,500 feet, or 450 meters.)

all around.

5 You will measure from without the city on the east side two thousand

cubits, (About 3,000 feet, or 900 meters.) and on the south side 2000 cubits,

and on the west side 2000 cubits, and on the north side 2000 cubits,

and the city will be in the middle. This will be for them

the pasturelands of the cities.

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near

Jericho, saying,

[2] Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the

inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also

unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

[3] And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them

shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

[4] And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites,

shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round

about.

[5] And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand

cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two

thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits and the city

shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

Day 64, 5 March 2026

1) Numbers 25, Numbers 26

NUMBERS 25

Moab Seduces Israel

1 (Jos 2:1; Nu 33:49) While Israel dwelt in Shittim, the people began to

commit harlotry with the women of Moab.

2 (1Co 10:20; Ex 20:5) They called the people to the sacrifices

of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.

3 (Jos 22:17; Hos 9:10) Israel joined himself to the Baal of Peor,

and the anger of the Lord was inflamed against Israel.

4 (Dt 13:17; 4:3) The Lord said to Moses, "Take all the chiefs of the people

and hang them before the Lord in the sun, that the fierce

anger of the Lord turn from Israel."

5 (Ex 18:21) Moses said to the judges of Israel,

"Kill each of the men who have aligned themselves with the Baal of Peor."

6 (Joel 2:17; Nu 22:4) Behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought

to his brothers a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight

of all the assembly of the children of Israel, who were weeping

before the door of the tent of meeting.

7 (Ex 6:25) When Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest,

saw it, he rose up from among the assembly and took a spear in his hand,

8 (Nu 16:46-48) and he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust

both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly.

So the plague was stopped from the children of Israel.

9 (1Co 10:8; Nu 16:49-50) Those that died in the plague were 24000.

10 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

11 (Dt 32:16; 32:21) "Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron

the priest, has turned My wrath away from the children of Israel,

because he was zealous for My sake among them, so I did not exterminate

the children of Israel in My zeal.

12 (Mal 2:4-5) Therefore say, 'I hereby grant him My covenant of peace.

13 (Ex 40:15; 1Ch 6:4-15) And it will be for him and his seed after him,

even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous

for his God and made an atonement for the children of Israel.'"

14 Now the name of the slain Israelite who was slain with the Midianite

woman was Zimri the son of Salu,

a leader of a chief house among the Simeonites.

15 (Nu 31:8; Jos 13:21) The name of the Midianite woman that was slain

was Kozbi the daughter of Zur.

He was chief over a people and of a father's house in Midian.

16 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

17 "Be hostile to the Midianites, and defeat them,

18 (Rev 2:14) because they have been hostile to you with their wiles,

with which they have deceived you in the matter of Peor

and in the matter of Kozbi the daughter of a leader of Midian,

their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague because of Peor."

Numbers 25

[1] And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom

with the daughters of Moab.

[2] And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the

them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the

plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

[9] And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

[10] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[11] Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned

my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake

among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

[12] Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:

[13] And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an

everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an

atonement for the children of Israel.

[14] Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with

the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house

among the Simeonites.

[15] And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the

daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.

[16] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[17] Vex the Midianites, and smite them:

[18] For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in

the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of

Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's

sake.

NUMBERS 26

The Second Census

1 (Nu 25:9) After the plague, the Lord spoke to Moses

and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 (Ex 38:25-26; Nu 1:2-3) "Take the count of all the assembly

of the children of Israel from twenty years old and older,

throughout their fathers' houses, all that are able to go to war in Israel."

3 (Nu 22:1; 33:48) Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them

in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

4 (Nu 1:1) "Take the count of the people from twenty years old and older,"

as the Lord commanded Moses.

The children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt, were these:

5 (1Ch 5:3; Ge 46:8-9) Reuben, the oldest son of Israel. The children

of Reuben:

of Hanok, from whom comes the family of the Hanokites;

of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

6 of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites;

of Karmi, the family of the Karmites.

7 These are the families of the Reubenites:

those who were counted were 43730.

8 The son of Pallu was Eliab.

9 (Nu 1:16) The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram.

This is that Dathan and Abiram, called out from the assembly, who

argued against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah

when they argued against the Lord.

10 (Nu 16:38; 16:31-35; 2Pe 2:6) And the earth opened its mouth

and swallowed them with Korah when that company died,

when the fire devoured 2050, and they became a sign.

11 (Ex 6:24) But the children of Korah did not die.

12 (1Ch 4:24; Ge 46:10) The sons of Simeon by their families were:

of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites;

of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites;

of Jakin, the family of the Jakinites;

13 (Ge 46:10) of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites;

of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.

14 These are the families of the Simeonites: 22200.

15 (Ge 46:16) The children of Gad by their families were:

of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites;

of Haggi, the family of the Haggites;

of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

16 of Ozni, the family of the Oznites;

of Eri, the family of the Erites;

17 of Arodi, the family of the Arodites;

of Areli, the family of the Arelites.

18 These are the families of the children of Gad according

to those by their count: 4500 .

19 (Ge 46:12) The sons of Judah were Er and Onan,

and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

20 (Ge 46:12; Ne 11:24) The sons of Judah after their families were:

of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites;

of Perez, the family of the Perezites;

of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.

21 The sons of Perez were:

of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites;

of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

22 These are the families of Judah by their count: 76500 .

23 (Ge 46:13; 1Ch 7:1) The sons of Issachar by their families were:

of Tola, the family of the Tolaites;

of Puah, the family of the Puites;

24 (Ge 46:13) of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites;

of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

25These are the families of Issachar by their count: 64300 .

26 (Ge 46:14) The sons of Zebulun by their families were:

Numbers 16

The People Complain

41 (Nu 14:2) But the next day all the assembly of the children of Israel

murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying,

"You have killed the people of the Lord."

42 (Nu 16:19; Lev 9:23) When the assembly was gathered

against Moses and Aaron, they looked toward the tent of meeting.

The cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.

43 Moses and Aaron went before the tent of meeting.

44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

45 (Nu 16:24; 16:21-22) "Get up from among this assembly,

that I may destroy them in a moment." And they fell on their faces.

46 (Lev 10:6; Nu 8:19) Moses said to Aaron, "Take a censer and put fire

in it from off the altar, and put in incense, and go quickly to the assembly,

and make an atonement for them, because wrath has gone out from the Lord.

The plague has begun."

47 Aaron took it as Moses commanded and ran into the midst of the assembly,

where the plague had begun among the people. He put in incense

and made an atonement for the

48 (2Sa 24:25) He stood between the dead and the living,

and the plague was stopped.

49 (Nu 25:9) Now those who died in the plague were 14700,

besides those that died concerning the thing of Korah.

50 Aaron returned to Moses, to the door of the tent of meeting,

and the plague was stopped.

[41] But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel

[42] And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses

and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the

[44] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[45] Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in

the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and

make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the

plague is begun.

[47] And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the

congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put

on incense, and made an atonement for the people.

[48] And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was

stayed.

[49] Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven

hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.

[50] And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the

congregation: and the plague was stayed.

NUMBERS 17

The Budding of Aaron's Rod

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Israel, and take from them a rod,

a rod for the house of their fathers, from all their leaders

according to the house of their fathers, twelve rods.

Write each man's name on his rod.

3 You will write the name of Aaron on the rod of Levi,

because one rod will be for each father's house.

4 You will lay them in the tent of meeting before the testimony,

where I will meet with you.

5 (Nu 16:5; 16:11) It will be that the rod of the man

whom I choose will bud.

Thus I will rid myself of the complaints of the children of Israel,

that they have been making against you.

6 Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and each one of their leaders

gave him a rod, one for each leader, according to their fathers' houses,

even twelve rods, and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

7 (Ex 38:21; Ac 7:44) Moses laid the rods before the Lord

in the tent of witness.

8 (Eze 17:24) When Moses went into the tent of witness the next day,

the rod of Aaron, for the house of Levi, had sprouted.

It brought forth buds, produced blossoms, and yielded almonds.

9 Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord to

all the children of Israel, and they looked, and each man took his rod.

10 (Nu 16:38; Heb 9:4) The Lord said to Moses, "Return the rod of Aaron

before the testimony, to be kept for a warning to rebels,

that you may put an end to their complaints before Me,

or else they will die."

11 Moses did so. As the Lord commanded him, so he did.

12 The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Behold, we expire,

we perish, we all perish.

13 Anyone approaching the tabernacle of the Lord will die.

Are we all to perish?"

Numbers 17

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod

according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to

the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his

rod.

[3] And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod

shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.

[4] And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before

the testimony, where I will meet with you.

[5] And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose,

shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the

children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

[6] And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their

princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their

fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their

rods.

[7] And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.

[8] And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle

of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded,

and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

[9] And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the

children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

[10] And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the

testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite

take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

[11] And Moses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he.

[12] And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we

perish, we all perish.

[13] Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall

die: shall we be consumed with dying?

NUMBERS 18

Duties of Priests and Levites

1 (Ex 28:38) And the Lord said to Aaron: You and your sons and your father's

house with you will bear the iniquity of the sanctuary, and you and your sons

with you will bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

2 (Ge 29:34; Nu 18:4) Your brothers also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of

your father, bring with you, and let them be joined with you, and minister

to you. But you and your sons with you will minister before the tent of

witness.

3 (Nu 4:15; 3:25) They will perform duties for you and for the whole tent;

but they will not come near the vessels of the sanctuary or the altar,

so that neither they nor you die.

4 They will be joined to you and perform the duties of the tent of meeting,

for all the service of the tent; no foreigner will come near you.

5 (Ex 27:21; Lev 24:3) You yourselves will perform the duties

of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, so that wrath may never come

upon the children of Israel again.

6 (Nu 3:9; 3:12) I Myself have taken your brothers, the Levites, from among

the children of Israel; they are given to you as a gift from the Lord to perform

the service of the tent of meeting.

7 (Nu 3:10_ And you and your sons with you will attend to your priesthood

for everything at the altar, and within the veil, and you will serve. I have

given your priesthood to you as a gift service, and the foreigner that

comes near will be put to death.

[1] And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house

with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons

with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

[2] And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father,

bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto

thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle

of witness.

[3] And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle:

only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar,

that neither they, nor ye also, die.

[4] And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the

tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a

stranger shall not come nigh unto you.

[5] And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the

altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.

[6] And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the

children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the

service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

[7] Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office

for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I

have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the

stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

NUMBERS 16

Opposition to Moses and Aaron

1 (Jude 1:11; Ex 6:21) Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath,

the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab,

and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men,

2 (Nu 26:9) and they rose up before Moses and men of the children of Israel,

two hundred and fifty chiefs of the assembly, famous in the assembly,

well-known men.

3 (Ps 106:16; Ex 19:6) They assembled against Moses and against Aaron,

and said to them, "You take too much upon yourselves, seeing

all the congregation are holy, every one of them,

and the Lord is among them. So why do you exalt yourselves

above the assembly of the Lord?"

4 (Nu 14:5; 20:6) And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face,

5 (Lev 10:3; Nu 17:5) and he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying,

"In the morning the Lord will show who is His and who is holy, and He will

bring him to come near to Him. Whom He has chosen He will bring near to Him.

6 (Lev 10:1) Do this: Take censers, Korah and all his company;

7 (Nu 16:3) put fire in them, and put incense in them before the Lord

tomorrow, and it will be that the man whom the Lord chooses, he will be holy.

You take too much upon yourselves, sons of Levi."

8 Moses said to Korah, "Listen, please, sons of Levi.

9 (Dt 10:8; Isa 7:13) Does it seem a small thing to you that the God of Israel

has separated you from the assembly of Israel to bring you near to Himself

to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand

before the assembly to minister to them?

10 And He has brought you near to Him, and all your brothers,

the sons of Levi, with you, and you also seek the priesthood?

11 (Ex 16:7-8; 1Co 3:5) Therefore both you and all your company are gathered

together against the Lord, and who is Aaron that you murmur against him?"

12 And Moses sent for Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, who said,

"We will not come

13 (Ac 7:35; Ex 2:14) Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out

of a land that flows with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness

because you make yourself a prince over us?

14 (Lev 20:24) Moreover you have not brought us into a land that flows

with milk and honey nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards.

Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up."

15 (Ge 4:4-5; 2Co 7:2) Moses was very angry and said to the Lord,

"Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from

them, nor have I hurt one of them."

16 (1Sa 12:3; 12:7) Moses said to Korah, "You and all your company

be before the Lord, you and them and Aaron, tomorrow.

17 Let each man take his censer and put incense in it,

and each of you bring his censer before the Lord,

two hundred and fifty censers. Also you and Aaron shall each bring his censer."

18 Every man took his censer and put fire in it, and laid incense on it,

and stood at the door of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.

19 (Nu 14:10; 16:42) Korah gathered all the assembly against them to the door

of the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the assembly.

20 The Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:

21 (Ex 32:10; Nu 16:45) Separate yourselves from among this assembly,

that I may consume them in a moment.

22 (Nu 27:16; Ge 18:23-25) They fell on their faces and said,

"O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin

and You will be angry with all the assembly?"

23 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

24 Speak to the assembly, saying: Get up from around

the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

25 Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram,

and the elders of Israel followed him.

26 (Isa 52:11; 2Co 6:17) He spoke to the assembly, saying,

"Depart now from the tents of these wicked men, and touch

nothing of theirs, lest you be swept away for all their sins."

27 So they got up from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram,

on every side, and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood

in the opening of their tents, and their wives, and their sons,

and their children.

28 (Ex 3:12; Jer 23:16) Moses said, "By this you will know that

the Lord has sent me to do all these works, because I have not

done them of my own mind.

29 (1Ki 22:28) If these men die the common death of all men,

or if they are visited after the visitation of all men,

then the Lord has not sent me.

30 (Ps 55:15; Nu 16:33) But if the Lord makes a new thing,

and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them with all that

belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit,

then you will know that these men have despised the Lord."

31 (Nu 27:3; Dt 11:6) So it was, when he finished speaking

all these words, that the ground that was under them split open.

32 (Nu 26:11; 1Ch 6:22) And the earth opened its mouth

and swallowed them, and their houses, and all the men

that belonged to Korah, and all their goods.

33 (Jude 1:11) And they and all that belonged to them went down

alive into the pit, and the earth closed on them, and they perished

from among the assembly.

34 All Israel that was around them fled at their cry because they said,

"The earth will swallow us also."

35 (Lev 10:2; Nu 26:10) A fire went out from the Lord and consumed

the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

36 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

37 Tell Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest to take up the censers

out of the blaze, for they are holy. Then scatter the fire far and wide.

38 (Nu 26:10; Pr 20:2) As for the censers of these men who have sinned

at the cost of their own lives, make them into hammered plates

as a covering for the altar, for they presented them before the Lord

and they are holy. They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.

39 So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were

burned had offered, and they were hammered out as a covering on the altar,

40 (Nu 3:10) to be a memorial to the children of Israel, that no outsider,

who is not of the descendants of Aaron, shall approach to offer incense

before the Lord, that he might not become like Korah and his company,

as the Lord has said to him through Moses.

Numbers 16

are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift

ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

[4] And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

[5] And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow

the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come

near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto

him.

[6] This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;

[7] And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow:

and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye

take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

[9] Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath

separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself

all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.

[33] They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit,

and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the

congregation.

[34] And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for

they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

[35] And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred

and fifty men that offered incense.

[36] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[37] Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the

censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are

hallowed.

[38] The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make

them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before

the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the

children of Israel.

[39] And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that

were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of

the altar:

[40] To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which

is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD;

that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the

hand of Moses.

[1] And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the

tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments

thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them,

and sanctified them;

[2] That the princes of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who

were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered,

offered:

[3] And they brought their offering before the LORD, six covered wagons, and

twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and

they brought them before the tabernacle.

[4] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

[5] Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of

the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man

according to his service.

[6] And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them unto the Levites.

[7] Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to

their service:

[8] And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari,

according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the

priest.

[9] But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the

sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their

shoulders.

[10] And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it

was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.

[11] And the LORD said unto Moses, They shall offer their offering, each

prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.

[12] And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of

Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah:

[13] And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof was an

hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the

shekel of the sanctuary; both of them were full of fine flour mingled with

oil for a meat offering:

[14] One spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense:

[15] One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt

offering:

[16] One kid of the goats for a sin offering:

[17] And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he

goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Nahshon the

son of Amminadab.

[18] On the second day Nethaneel the son of Zuar, prince of Issachar, did

offer:

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:

- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Muslim-background believers.

- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially

in their faith and the Church.

- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their

not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.

- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.

- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim

Pray for Afrini Kurds

Paul, like many Kurds from Afrin, fled war and became a refugee in a nearby

country. His life was defined by pride, brokenness and violence. One by one,

the women in his family came to faith in Christ, but despite their prayers and

witnessing inexplicable miracles, Paul's heart remained hard. Then, in a

vision one night, he was faced with the fearful power and tender love

of Christ.

Paul repented; saved and forever changed to be used among his people.

Previously he carried knives, but now Paul carries audio Bibles with him

wherever he goes, insisting that neither his nor any other Kurd's illiteracy

be a barrier to hearing God's Word.

In an effort to reach the whole diaspora of his people, Paul runs several

popular social media accounts in the Afrini Kurdish language. He posts videos

about the gospel, stories of Christ, and other heart-changing scriptures. His

family hosts a house-church and tries to encourage other Afrini believers like

Raban, a young and lonely disciple who lives about 90 minutes away.

One day, a man named Barzan found Paul's Facebook page and messaged him:

"I'm disenchanted with Islam and have questions about the Bible.

Do you know any Christians who can visit me?"

Paul eagerly responded, "Where do you live?"

Of all the places in the world where Afrini Kurds are found, Barzan lived only

a few blocks from Raban! Paul met with Raban and that very day led Barzan to

faith. Three years later, many families in Raban and Barzan's neighborhood

also follow Christ and together have their own house-church. They share over

the phone with relatives west in Europe and east in their home country,

where dozens are longing to be discipled.

How to Pray

Pray for the audio Bible to be made available in the Afrini dialect.

Ask that Afrin’s infrastructure would be repaired; many believers are eager

to return and see churches planted among Afrin's 366 villages.

Ask God to quickly mature existing believers to shepherd the multitudes

coming to faith.

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Stradivarius violins, cellos, and guitars are among the most treasured musical

instruments in the world. Crafted during the seventeenth and eighteenth

centuries, the pieces are rare and invaluable. Something so precious deserves

the utmost care. So when a Stradivarius cello - worth more than $20 million -

fell off a table during a photo shoot, it was truly shocking!

Just as a Stradivarius must be handled carefully, so must our relationships.

We're to love others because Christ demonstrated His love toward us.

In John 13:34, Jesus gave His disciples a command that requires careful

attention: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you,

so you must love one another." Why did Christ call it a new command?

It was new because it was rooted in the way Jesus loved people. This new

command to love wasn’t careless or casual but intentional, precious,

and sacrificial. Loving this way would lead to discipleship, self-denial, and

possibly even death for the disciples. This care for one another would be how

they survived in a difficult and hostile world after Christ's departure. And

Jesus told them, "Everyone will know that you are my disciples,

if you love one another" (v. 35).

Let's carefully and sacrificially love others - reflecting Jesus' precious

and priceless love.

Week 7 Promises of Grace - Day 1 Hard Bargain

Mark 11:24

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,

believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,

believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

"I've been praying." Jennifer declared confidently. " I told God I'd give him

a tithe of that $5000000 when I win the sweepstakes."

Her friend Cindi laughed. "Well, then, you don't have a chance. I told him

I'd give him half!"

Can we, as in Mark 11:24 seems to imply , pray for anything, absolutely

anything, and expect that the Lord will come through? Can we pray with

assurance for new cars, mink coats, or trips to the Caribbean? The verse

seems to be a troublesome one, especially when we try it and our prayers

aren't answered in the way we expected.

But seen in context, Mark 11:24 gives us a much broader picture of the

kind of prayer Jesus meant. The verse appears in the framework of

Jesus' ministry - cleansing the temple, correcting the Pharisees,

commanding forgiveness, discussing his authority. The condition for

the fulfillment of Mark 11:24, if Jesus' actions are any indication,

is fulfilling the will and purpose of God.

Such a condition for powerful prayers involves much more than attaching

am "If it be Thy will" clause onto the end of our prayers. We need to know

God's will and walk in it, seeking his kingdom first, and drawing close to

him. Then , as our hearts are right with him, what we ask in prayer

is likely to be congruent with the mind and purposes of Christ. We are

less likely to pray selfishly, and more likely to share God's priorities,

as we get to know him. And as we deepen in our knowledge of him,

as his will becomes our will, his promise for answered prayer takes

on new dimensions.

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:

- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Muslim-background believers.

- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially

in their faith and the Church.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

Pray to the Lord and pray ask Him what you can do for Him and

give Him reverence.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know how to pray in His Will.

Pray to the Lord and pray to owe no one.

Pray to the Lord and exalt Yahweh.

With what body do they come?"

38 Then God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

2015 Population - 4631302 Muslims about 136493

British Columbia - British Columbia's Muslim Population is growing constantly.

Every week there are immigrants ad refugees coming to the Greater Vancouver

and surrounding areas. There are also significant Muslim student populations

in our colleges and universities. Some have even suggested that there are

between 4000 and 5000 Saudi Arabian students alone, without counting all

other nationalities.

Greater Vancouver has an estimated 180000 Muslims, and there are significant

and growing communities in the Fraser Valley such as in Langley, Abbotsford,

Chilliwack, etc. Including these communities the total population for this

region is about 200000.

Of these, there are an estimated 100000 Iranians, 35000 Arabs, 15000 Ismailis,

more than 20000 Afghanis, 10000 South Asian Muslims, 3000 Turks, and small

numbers from other countries such as Sudan, Somalia, Albania, etc.

We are seeing some Muslims coming to Christ and we rejoice in that.

A few people also have some ongoing ministry to Muslims in the area,

for which we also rejoice. Let us agree in that

- the church will catch a vision to pray,

and a burden to train outreach to Muslims

- the church will press in to participate in effective

discipleship of these new Muslim background believers.

Moses at the Burning Bush

[3] And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the

bush is not burnt.

[4] And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him

out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am

I.

[5] And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet,

for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

[6] Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the

God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was

afraid to look upon God.

[7] And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which

are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I

know their sorrows;

[8] And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and

to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land

flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the

Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the

Jebusites.

[9] Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto

me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress

them.

[10] Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest

bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

[11] And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and

that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

[12] And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token

unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people

out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

[13] And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of

Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto

you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

[14] And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou

say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

[15] And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children

of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of

Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for

ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

[16] Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The

LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob,

appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is

done to you in Egypt:

[17] And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt

unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the

Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with

milk and honey.

[18] And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the

elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The

LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech

thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the

LORD our God.

[19] And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a

mighty hand.

[20] And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders

which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.

[21] And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and

it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:

[22] But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that

sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall

spoil the Egyptians.

(The Lord remembers his promise, Recall God said to Abraham that his people

will stay 400 years in Egypt, Too bad this pharoah forget

Joseph and how he made Egypt prosperous. Note that Egypt was not

only allow the God of Abraham to be worshipped amongst the poeple)

EXODUS 1

Israel Oppressed

1 (Ge 46:8-26; 35:23-26) Now these are the names of the sons of Israel,

which came into Egypt (each man and his household came with Jacob):

2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;

3 Issachar, Zeb-ulun, and Benjamin;

4 Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 (Ge 46:26-27; Dt 10:22) All the people who came from the seed of Jacob

were seventy people, but Joseph was in Egypt already.

6 (Ge 50:26) Joseph died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 (Ge 46:3; Dt 26:5) Nevertheless, the sons of Israel were fruitful, and

increased abundantly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty,

Or numerous; (also in v. 20.) so that the land was filled with them.

8 (Ac 7:18) Now there rose up a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.

9 (Ps 105:24-25) He said to his people,

"Surely, the people of the sons of Israel are more numerous

and powerful than we.

10 (Ac 7:19; Ps 83:3-4) Come, let us deal wisely with them,

lest they multiply, and it come to pass that when any war breaks out,

they also join our enemies, and fight against us, and escape from the land."

(Populism)

11 (Ge 15:13; 47:11) Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them

with their labor. They built for Pharaoh storage cities: Pithom and Rameses.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew

so that as a result they abhorred the sons of Israel.

13 The Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor,

14 (Ex 2:23; 6:9) and they made their lives bitter with hard service

- in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field,

all their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.

15 The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives,

of which the name of one was Shiphrah,

and the name of the other Puah,

16 and he said, "When you perform the office of a midwife to the Hebrew

women and see them on the stools, if it is a son, then you must kill him,

but if it is a daughter, then she may live."

17 (Ac 5:29; Pr 16:6; Da 3:16-18) However, the midwives feared God,

and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but kept the male

children alive. 18 The king of Egypt called for the midwives

and said to them, "Why have you done this thing

and preserved the male children's lives?"

19 The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women

are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous

and give birth before the midwives come to them."

20 (Ex 1:12; Pr 11:18) Therefore God dealt well with the midwives,

and the people multiplied and grew very mighty.

21 (1Sa 2:35; 1Ki 11:38) So it happened that because the midwives feared God,

He gave them families.

22 (Ac 7:19) Pharaoh charged all his people, saying,

"You must cast every son that is born into the river,

and you must preserve every daughter's life."

Exodus 1

shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

EXODUS 2

The Birth of Moses

1 (Nu 26:59) Now a man of the house of Levi went

and married a daughter of Levi.

2 (Ac 7:20; Heb 11:23) And the woman conceived and bore a son,

and when she saw him, that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months.

3 (Isa 18:2) When she could no longer hide him, she took for him a container

made of bulrushes and daubed it with tar and with pitch.

She then put the child in it and set it in the reeds by the river's bank.

4 (Ex 15:20; Nu 26:59) Then his sister stood afar off so that

she might know what would happen to him.

5 The daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river

while her maidens walked along by the river's side,

and when she saw the container among the reeds, she sent her maid,

and she retrieved it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child. He was crying.

She had compassion on him and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."

7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and call for you

a nursing woman of the Hebrew women so that she may nurse the child for you?"

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Go." So the young girl went

and called the child's mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her,

"Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages."

So the woman took the child and nursed him.

10 (Heb 11:24) Now the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter,

and he became her son. And she called his name Moses and said,

"Because I drew him out of the water."

11 (Heb 11:24-26; Ex 1:11) In those days, when Moses was grown,

he went out to his brothers and looked on their burdens;

and he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

12 He looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed

the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 When he went out the next day,

two men of the Hebrews struggled with each other; and he said to him

that did the wrong, "Why do you strike your companion?"

14 (Ge 19:9; Lk 12:14) He said, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us?

Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?" Moses feared and said,

"Surely this thing is known."

Moses Flees to Midian

15 (Ac 7:29; Heb 11:27) Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay

Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh and settled in the land of

Midian, and he dwelled by a well.

16 (Ge 24:11; Ex 3:1)Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters,

and they came and drew water,

and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

17 (Ge 29:10) Then shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up

and helped them, and watered their flock.

18 (Ex 3:1; 4:18) When they came to Reuel their father,

he said, "Why is it you have come back so soon today?"

19 And they said, "An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds

and also drew water for us and watered the flock."

20 (Ge 31:54; 43:25) He said to his daughters, "So where is he?

Why is it that you have left the man? Call him so that he may eat bread."

21 Moses was content to dwell with the man, and he gave Zipporah, his daughter,

to Moses. 22 (Ac 7:29; Heb 11:13-14) Then she gave birth to a son,

and he called his name Gershom, for he said, "I have been a sojourner

in a foreign land."

23 (Jas 5:4; Ac 7:30) In the passing of time the king of Egypt died.

And the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out,

and their cry came up to God on account of the bondage.

24 (Ex 6:5; Ps 105:42) God heard their groaning, and God remembered

His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 25 (Ex 4:31; Lk 1:25) God looked

on the children of Israel, and God had concern for them.

Sons of Israel

From Judah to David

3 (Ge 38:2-10; 46:12) The sons of Judah were

Er, Onan, and Shelah: These three were born to him by

the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. Now Er, the firstborn of Judah,

was evil in the sight of the Lord, and He put him to death.

4 (Mt 1:3; Ge 38:13-30; Ru 4:12) Then Tamar his daughter-in-law

bore Perez and Zerah for him. In all, Judah had five sons.

5 (Ge 46:12; Nu 26:21) The sons of Perez were

Hezron and Hamul.

6 The sons of Zerah were

Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol, and Dara, five of them in all.

7Jos 6:18The sons of Karmi were

Achar, the troubler of Israel, who acted unfaithfully in regard to the ban.

8 The son of Ethan was

Azariah.

9 (Ru 4:19; 1Ch 2:42) Now the sons of Hezron, who were born to him, were

Jerahmeel, Ram, and Kelubai.

Sons of Ram

13 (1Sa 17:13) Now Jesse became the father of

his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third,

14 Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;

16 (1Sa 26:6) their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail.

The sons of Zeruiah were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three in all.

17 (2Sa 17:25) Abigail bore Amasa: the father of Amasa

was Jether the Ishmaelite.

10 And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon,

prince of the children of Judah;

11 and Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,

12 and Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,

13 and Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second,

and Shimma the third,

14 Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

Sons of Caleb

18 Caleb the son of Hezron had children with his wife Azubah and with Jerioth.

These are her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

19 (1Ch 2:50) Now Azubah died, and Caleb took Ephrath as a wife.

She bore Hur for him.

20 (Ex 31:2) Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel.

21 (Nu 27:1) Afterward Hezron had relations with the daughter of Makir,

the father of Gilead, whom he took as a wife when he was sixty years old,

and she bore Segub for him.

22 Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three cities

in the land of Gilead.

23 He took Geshur and Aram, the towns of Jair, from them,

with Kenath and its villages, sixty towns.

All these were descendants of Makir, the father of Gilead.

24 (1Ch 4:5) After the death of Hezron in Caleb Ephrathah,

Hezron's wife Abijah bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.

18 And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife,

and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

19 And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

20 And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.

21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father

of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old;

and she bare him Segub.

22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land

of Gilead.

with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities.

All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

Sons of Jerahmeel

25 Now the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were

Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

26 Jerahmeel also had another wife.

Her name was Atarah, and she was the mother of Onam.

27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were

Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

28 The sons of Onam were

Shammai and Jada.

And the sons of Shammai were

Nadab and Abishur.

29 The name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail. She bore him Ahban and Molid.

30 The sons of Nadab were

Seled and Appaim, but Seled died without children.

31 (1Ch 2:34-35) The son of Appaim was

Ishi. The son of Ishi was Sheshan,

and the son of Sheshan was Ahlai.

32 The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai were

Jether and Jonathan, but Jether died without children.

33 The sons of Jonathan were

Peleth and Zaza.

These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34 Now Sheshan had no children except daughters,

but he did have a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

35 Sheshan gave one of his daughters to Jarha his servant as a wife,

and she bore him Attai.

36 (1Ch 11:41) Attai became the father of Nathan,

and Nathan became the father of Zabad.

37 Zabad became the father of Ephlal,

and Ephlal became the father of Obed.

38 Obed became the father of Jehu,

and Jehu became the father of Azariah.

and Helez became the father of Eleasah.

40 Eleasah became the father of Sismai,

46 Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza,

and Gazez, and Haran became the father of Gazez.

Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab,

and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.

55 (Jdg 1:16; 2Ki 10:15) The families of the scribes who lived at Jabez

were the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites.

They are the Kenites who came from Hammath,

the father of the house of Rekab.

42 Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were,

Genesis 33

Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

[2] And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her

children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

[3] And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven

times, until he came near to his brother.

[4] And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and

kissed him: and they wept.

[5] And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said,

Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously

given thy servant.

[6] Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed

themselves.

[7] And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and

after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

[8] And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he

said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

[9] And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto

thyself.

[10] And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy

sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy

face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

[11] Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God

hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him,

and he took it.

[12] And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go

before thee.

[13] And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and

the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive

them one day, all the flock will die.

[14] Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead

on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be

able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

[15] And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are

with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my

lord.

[16] So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.

[17] And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths

for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

[18] And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of

Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city.

[19] And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the

hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for an hundred pieces of

money.

[20] And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.

GENESIS 34

Dinah Is Defiled

1 Now Dinah, the daughter of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob, went out to see

the daughters of the land.

2 When Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite,

prince of the land, saw her, he took her and lay with her and defiled her.

3 He was very smitten by Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the girl

and spoke kindly to her.

4 Shechem spoke to his father Hamor, saying, "Get me this girl for my wife."

5 Now Jacob heard that Shechem had violated his daughter Dinah,

but his sons were with his livestock in the field,

so Jacob held his peace until they came.

6 Hamor the father of Shechem went out to Jacob to commune with him.

7 The sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it,

and the men were grieved and were very disturbed,

because Shechem had disgraced Israel by lying with Jacob's daughter,

a thing that should not be done.

8 Hamor spoke with them, saying, "The soul of my son Shechem longs for

your daughter. I pray that you will give her to him to marry.

9 Make marriages with us, and give your daughters to us,

and take our daughters for yourselves.

10 You may dwell with us, and the land will be before you.

Dwell and trade in it and get possessions in it."

11 Shechem said to her father and to her brothers,

"Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you say to me I will give.

12 You can make the dowry and gift I must bring high, and I will give

according to what you say to me. Just give me the girl to marry."

13 The sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully,

because he had defiled Dinah their sister.

14 They said to them, "We cannot do this.

To give our sister to one who is uncircumcised would be a disgrace to us.

15 But we will consent to you in this: If you will become as we are,

that is, every one of your males be circumcised,

16 then we will give our daughters to you, and we will take your

daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

17 But if you will not listen to us and be circumcised, then

we will take our daughter, and we will leave."

18 Their words pleased Hamor and Shechem, Hamor's son.

19 The young man did not delay to do the thing,

because he wanted Jacob's daughter. Now he was more respected

than all the household of his father.

20 So Hamor and Shechem his son came to the gate of their city,

and they spoke with the men of their city, saying,

21 "These men are at peace with us. Therefore let them dwell in the land

and trade in it. For the land is large enough for them. Let us take their

daughters as our wives, and let us give them our daughters.

22 Only on this

condition will the men consent to dwell with us and be one people: if every

male among us will be circumcised as they are circumcised.

23 Will not their

livestock and their possessions and every animal of theirs be ours? Only,

let us agree with them, and they will dwell with us."

24 All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Hamor and Shechem

his son, and every male was circumcised,

all who went out of the gate of his city.

25 On the third day, when they were in pain, two of Jacob's sons,

Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brothers, took their swords

and went to the unsuspecting city and killed all the males.

26 They killed Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge

of the sword and took Dinah out of the house of Shechem and departed.

27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain and looted the city,

because they had defiled their sister.

28 They took their flocks and their herds, their donkeys

and whatever was in the city and in the fields.

29 They took captive and looted all their wealth, all their little ones,

and their wives, even all that was in each house.

30 Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have brought trouble on me

by making me revolting among the inhabitants of the land,

among the Canaanites and the Perizzites. Our being few in number,

they will gather themselves together against me and slay me,

and I will be destroyed, both I and my household."

31 But they said, "Should he treat our sister like a prostitute?"

Genesis 34

[1] And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to

see the daughters of the land.

[2] And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw

her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

[3] And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the

damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

[4] And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to

wife.

[5] And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons

were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were

come.

[6] And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.

[7] And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the

men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in

Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done.

[8] And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth

for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.

[9] And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take

our daughters unto you.

[10] And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and

trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.

[11] And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find

grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.

[12] Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye

shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.

[13] And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father

deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:

[14] And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to

one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:

[15] But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that

every male of you be circumcised;

[16] Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your

daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

[17] But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we

take our daughter, and we will be gone.

[18] And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.

[19] And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight

in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his

father.

[20] And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and

communed with the men of their city, saying,

[21] These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land,

and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us

take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.

[22] Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be

one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.

[23] Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be

ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.

[24] And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of

the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of

the gate of his city.

[25] And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of

the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his

sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.

[26] And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and

took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.

[27] The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because

they had defiled their sister.

[28] They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which

was in the city, and that which was in the field,

[29] And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took

they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.

[30] And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to

stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the

Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together

against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

[31] And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?
