Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Pray for Afrini Kurds



Paul, like many Kurds from Afrin, fled war and became a refugee in a nearby

country. His life was defined by pride, brokenness and violence. One by one,

the women in his family came to faith in Christ, but despite their prayers and

witnessing inexplicable miracles, Paul's heart remained hard. Then, in a

vision one night, he was faced with the fearful power and tender love

of Christ.



Paul repented; saved and forever changed to be used among his people.

Previously he carried knives, but now Paul carries audio Bibles with him

wherever he goes, insisting that neither his nor any other Kurd's illiteracy

be a barrier to hearing God's Word.



In an effort to reach the whole diaspora of his people, Paul runs several

popular social media accounts in the Afrini Kurdish language. He posts videos

about the gospel, stories of Christ, and other heart-changing scriptures. His

family hosts a house-church and tries to encourage other Afrini believers like

Raban, a young and lonely disciple who lives about 90 minutes away.



One day, a man named Barzan found Paul's Facebook page and messaged him:



"I'm disenchanted with Islam and have questions about the Bible.

Do you know any Christians who can visit me?"



Paul eagerly responded, "Where do you live?"

Of all the places in the world where Afrini Kurds are found, Barzan lived only

a few blocks from Raban! Paul met with Raban and that very day led Barzan to

faith. Three years later, many families in Raban and Barzan's neighborhood

also follow Christ and together have their own house-church. They share over

the phone with relatives west in Europe and east in their home country,

where dozens are longing to be discipled.

Todd invited his younger brother Alex, a recent college graduate, to come live

with him in the house he'd built. He wanted to help his sibling gain some

financial footing by allowing him to live rent-free for a while. After six

months, Todd asked Alex to begin paying rent. Years later, Alex made an offer

on his own home. When the offer was accepted, Todd surprised him by telling

him that he'd deposited Alex's rent payments in a savings account over the

years and that the substantial sum of money was now his! Alex wept as he

received the lavish gift.



In Leviticus 25, God gave Moses commands for the Israelites that included

allowing those in need "to live with you" (v. 35 nlt). This command was part

of God enacting "a jubilee year" (v. 10 nlt) - when debts were forgiven, those

in poverty were helped, and the enslaved were freed (vv. 23-55). He declared

that He'd lovingly led His people "out of Egypt to give [them] the land of

Canaan and to be [their] God" (v. 38). He'd provided a new homeland,

and now they were to imitate Him by showing love and opening their homes

to others.



The apostle John would later write, "See what great love the Father has

lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1 John 3:1).

By Jesus' sacrifice we can receive the fullness of that lavish love (v. 16).

And as He helps us, we can lavish it on others.

also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.



13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common

to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be

tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation

also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.



Becky had experienced some hard knocks in the past few weeks; the stress

was beginning to show, and she wasn't sure she should handle anything else.

"Why me?" Becky wept, covering her face. "I just can't stand it any more!

I can't pay my bills; I just lost my job, and now my car broke down

on the highway. How much more of this can I take?"

Some people seem to have more than their share of trouble and temptation.

Within six months, one family faced financial trouble, cancer, quadruple

bypass surgery, and leukemia; their trials brought them face to face with

anger, bitterness, and despair as well. Other people seem to go through

life with relatively minor stresses and few real temptations to sin.

But whether our problems are great or small, they are part of the common

thread that ties humanity together. All of us face temptation; it is ,

Paul says, "Common to man." But Paul assures us that

"God ... will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear."

Often what we can bear is more that what we think we can bear. God will use

the troubled times in our lives for our maturity in him, but he promises

as well that he will not let temptation break us. He will provide "a way out,"

"a way of escape".

Sometimes the "way out" is true escape, being removed from what caused the

trouble. At other times, rather than being removed from it, we must

withstand the stress, face the temptation, enure the pain. Whether we escape

or endure, God is faithful to provide what we need; we can trust him

not to give us more than we can bear.

Rules for Priestly Conduct



1 (Eze 44:25; Lev 10:6-7) Then the Lord said to Moses: Speak to the priests,

the sons of Aaron, and say to them: None shall make himself unclean

for the dead among his people,

2 but for his closest relatives, that is, for his mother, his father,

his son, his daughter, his brother,

3 and his virgin sister (who is near him because she has not had a husband),

for her he may be made unclean.

My heart sank. My mind started to swirl. A friend who'd been helping set up my

new laptop accidentally deleted all the photos and videos I'd transferred to

it. Years of precious memories with family and friends were all gone in an

instant. Panic set in. I'd never be able to recreate those cherished moments

from past holidays, travels, and special occasions. Before sentimental me

could have a complete meltdown, my friend said he was hopeful he could recover

my files. Thankfully, a few agonising hours later I was overjoyed to see my

special media files reappear.



I waited anxiously for only a few hours, but the fear was real. Loss can be

scary and painful. In Joel 2, the prophet called the people of Judah to

repentance after devastation by a horde of locusts that destroyed the grain

fields, vineyards, gardens, and trees. The prophet had warned the people of

the impending consequences of their rebellion against God. But God hadn't

abandoned them. He would help and bring restoration if they placed their trust

in God: "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten" (2:25).



God restored Judah when they turned to Him. God wants to restore you as well.



Whatever circumstances you're in, you can turn to God and trust Him - knowing

that He's "the Lord your God, and that there is no other" (v. 27). He is

faithful to help you recover from what was lost and bring you into

a relationship with Him.

Luke 6:38



38 "Give, and it will be given to you: Good measure, pressed down,

shaken together, and running over will men give unto you.

For with the measure you use, it will be measured unto you."



38 give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,

and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured

to you again.



"Just give the Lord", the voice on the radio declared. "Give, and he will

give back to you, a hundredfold." The preacher went on to explain how

an old woman on social security had sent her last $10 to support his

ministry, and the next day she got an anonymous money order for

a $1000 . "The Lord will be faithful to his Word," the preacher

concluded. "You give, and you'll receive."

The Lord is, of course, faithful to his Word. But many well-meaning Christians

have interpreted Luke 6:38 as a "payment in kind" bargain with God:

if I give God my dollar, he's obliged to return it to me with interest.

This "seed-sowing" fallacy, where $20 supposedly becomes $2000 by

an act of divine, multiplication, has caused much

disappointment and frustration.

The "giving and receiving" principle is a valid one; the Lord does, indeed say

"Give, and it will be given to you," but he does not specify what the "return"

will be. The verse appears in the context of forgiveness, of not judging; the

principle is not investment, in any material sense, but generosity.

As we give, as few are compassionate with others, we take on the

character of the Lord himself. He is generous and giving, and he gives

to us as we give ourselves in love to others.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Roa, as a teacher, was convinced she knew everything about Christians: they

worship three gods, their book has been changed, and they live immoral

lives. But she was searching for answers to her inner emptiness.



One day, while driving, she felt the urge to "read the Injil

Only God can do that!"



After about a year of self-study and online conversations, Roa prayed to Jesus

for the first time. "I felt incredible peace and joy, I felt like a new

person," she recalls.



She immediately wanted to show her family and friends in the Qur'an what she

had realised. But they took it as criticism of Islam and wanted to make sure

that no one found out about Roa's thoughts. They were also convinced that she

would now lead an immoral life and take drugs. Nevertheless, Roa continues

to love and honor the more than twenty members of her immediate family

and shares her growing faith with them. She fights against the image of

'immoral' Christians and continues to wear the hijab. Roa emphasises that she

has not lost God, but has found Jesus. And she has a heart for her people,

the Jordanians, and uses a variety of ways to introduce them to Jesus.

The Law About Eating Blood

or goat in the camp, or slaughters it outside of the camp,

then blood guilt shall be accounted to that man. He has shed blood,

and that man shall be cut off from among his people.

which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them

to the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting, to the priest,

and offer them for peace offerings to the Lord.

6 (Nu 18:17; Lev 3:2) The priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar

of the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting,

and burn the fat for a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

7 (Ex 34:15; Dt 32:17) They shall no more offer their sacrifices

to goat demons, after whom they have acted like whores.

This shall be a perpetual statute for them throughout their generations.

8 (Lev 1:2-3) You shall say to them: Any man from the house of Israel,

You shall not eat the blood of any creature,

for the life of every creature is its blood.

Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

or a foreigner, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe himself in water,

Leviticus 17

Laws on Immoral Relations



1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

from where you lived, you shall not follow, and after the practices

of the land of Canaan, to where I will bring you, you shall not follow;

nor shall you walk in their ordinances.

and keep My ordinances to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.

5 (Eze 20:11; Ro 10:5) You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments,

which if a man does them, then he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

to have relations: I am the Lord.

You shall not approach his wife for relations; she is your aunt.

with your daughter-in-law, for she is your son's wife

-you shall not have relations with her.

with your brother's wife, for this exposes your brother's nakedness.

It is depravity.

18 And you shall not have a woman as a rival wife,

who is the sister of your other wife,

for this is to expose her nakedness while her sister,

LEVITICUS 16



The Day of Atonement



Lev 23:26-32; Nu 29:7-11



1 (Lev 10:1-2) The Lord spoke to Moses after the death

of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near

to the Lord and died.

2 (Ex 30:10; 1Ki 8:10-12) The Lord said to Moses:

Speak to Aaron your brother so that he does not come

at any time into the Holy Place within the veil

before the mercy seat, which is on the ark, so that he will not die,

for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.

3 (Lev 4:3; 1:10) Thus Aaron shall come into the Holy Place

with a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.

4 (Ex 30:20; 28:39-43)mHe shall put on the holy linen tunic,

and he shall have the linen undergarment on his body,

and shall be girded with a linen sash,

and shall be wearing the linen turban.

These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water

and then put them on.

5 (2Ch 29:21; Nu 29:11) He shall take from the congregation

of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering

and one ram for a burnt offering.

6 (Lev 9:7; Heb 9:7) Aaron shall offer his bull for the sin offering,

which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

7 Then he shall take the two goats and present them before the Lord

at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

8 Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats:

one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat.

9 Aaron shall bring the goat on which the lot of the Lord falls

10 (1Jn 2:2) But the goat on which the lot falls to be the scapegoat

shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement with it,

that it may be sent away as a scapegoat into the wilderness.

11 (Lev 16:6) Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering,

which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself,

and for his house, and shall kill

the bull of the sin offering for himself.

12 (Lev 10:1; Ex 30:34-38) And he shall take a censer full

of burning coals of fire from the altar before the Lord,

and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small,

and bring it within the veil.

13 (Ex 25:21; 30:1) And he shall put the incense on the fire

the mercy seat that is over the testimony, so that he does not die.

14 (Heb 9:25; Lev 4:5-6) And he shall take of the blood of the bull,

and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the eastern side,

and so he shall do for the tent of meeting that remains

in to make atonement in the Holy Place,

until he comes out and has made atonement for himself,

and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.

18 (Lev 4:7; Ex 30:10) Then he shall go out to the altar

that is before the Lord and make atonement for it,

and he shall take some of the blood of the bull

and some of the blood of the goat,

and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

19 He shall sprinkle from the blood on it with

his finger seven times, and cleanse it,

and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

20 (Lev 16:16; Eze 45:20) When he has made an end of atonement

for the Holy Place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar,

then he shall bring the live goat.

21 (Isa 53:6; 2Co 5:21) And Aaron shall lay both his hands

on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities

of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins,

putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away

by the hand of a designated man into the wilderness.

to a desolate land, and he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

23 (Eze 42:14; 44:19) Then Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting,

24 (Lev 16:3-5) And he shall wash his body with water in a holy place,

and put on his garments, and come out, and offer his burnt offering,

and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself

and for the people.

25 (Ex 29:13; Lev 4:8-10) The fat of the sin offering he shall burn

on the altar.

26 (Lev 16:10) He who releases the goat as the scapegoat shall wash

his clothes, and bathe his body in water, and afterward come into the camp.

27 (Lev 4:21; 6:30) The bull for the sin offering and the goat

for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement

in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp.

They shall burn in the fire their hides, their flesh, and their refuse.

28 He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his body in water,

and afterward he shall come into the camp.

29 (Nu 29:7; Isa 58:3) This shall be a perpetual statute for you so that

in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble

yourselves, and do no work of any kind, whether it is the native

citizen or the stranger who sojourns among you.

30 (Jer 33:8; Ps 51:2) For on that day the priest shall make atonement

for you to cleanse you, so that you may be clean from all your sins

before the Lord.

31 (Lev 23:32) It shall be a sabbath, a solemn rest for you,

and you shall humble yourselves. It is a perpetual statute.

32 (Ex 29:29-30; Lev 16:4) The priest, who is anointed

and consecrated to minister as a priest in the place of his father,

shall make atonement, and shall put on the linen garments,

the holy garments.

33 (Lev 16:16; 16:6) And he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary,

for the tent of meeting, and for the altar, and he shall make atonement

for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

34 (Heb 9:7; 9:25) This shall be a perpetual statute for you to make

atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.



For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.



You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"



Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:



- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,

"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

He Who Comes From Heaven



36 (Jn 5:24; 3:15-16) He who believes in the Son has eternal life.

Belle wanted nothing to do with her parents' faith in Jesus. In college, she

proclaimed herself an agnostic and sought to live without God. But a breakup

with her boyfriend and growing depression sent her on a downward spiral. She

thought of ending her life.



In those depths of despair, she thought of her parents' joy in Christ and,

despite her struggles, eventually trusted Jesus as Savior. Later, she heard a

man speak about a people group in China who'd never heard the gospel. She

wanted to go there to tell them, but some people discouraged her because of

the danger. She went anyway. Together with a young man she met in college

and whom she later married, Belle spent the rest of her life taking the gospel

to people in China and Thailand. Thousands of people trusted Jesus, and the

legacy of this woman, Isobel Kuhn, lives on in those lands.



Who gave a young woman a new life and hope and walked with her as she dealt

with difficult life challenges? Jesus.



Are you wondering what life is about? Perhaps questioning your existence?

Turn to Christ-"God's one and only son" (John 3:18) who died for you

(Romans 5:8). He loves you enough to provide life that lasts forever

(John 3:16). Yes, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life" (3:36).

And when we believe in Him, as Belle did, He will be with us as we face

life's challenges and help us extend His love to others.

"But Mom, I really need these!" The strident voice of a teenage girl

rose above the hum of voices in the department store. The item in question

was a pair of $80 blue Jeans, faded, bleached, and torn in the right knee.

Style . Fashion. Self-Image. The girl may not have needed the jeans to

enhance her wardrobe, but she obviously felt she needed then to

enhance her acceptability among her peers.

Phillippains 4:19 promises that God "shall supply your every need according

to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." But just what needs does this

promise cover? My need for a bigger house? A better job?

An $80 pair of Calvin Kleins?

Certainly God knows and cares about the physical, superficial need of our

lives, and he provides what we need to sustain life. But God's priority

goes much deeper than the kind of radial tires we buy or the brand name on

our back pockets. God is interested in eternal values, in spiritual needs, and

he knows what we need in our lives to draw us closer to him.

"Out of his glorious riches in Christ Jesus," God will enrich us spiritually.

The application of Phil 4:19 involves trusting God to know and care about our

real needs, the deep needs of our souls, and allowing him the freedom to

order our circumstances so that those needs are met. When we are bold

enough to pray, "Lord, do whatever is necessary to make me more like

Jesus Christ," our Father delights to answer that prayer and supply our needs.

disease has spread in the house. If the disease has spread in the house,

it is a persistent leprosy in the house; it is unclean.

45He shall break down the house, the stones and the timber,

and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them

out of the city into an unclean place.

46 (Nu 19:21-22) Moreover, he who goes into the house

while it is closed off shall be unclean until the evening.

47 And he who sleeps in the house shall wash his clothes,

and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 If the priest comes in and examines it and sees the disease

has not spread in the house after the house was plastered,

then the priest shall pronounce the house clean,

because the disease is healed.

49 (Lev 14:4) He shall take two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet,

and hyssop to cleanse the house.

50 Then he shall kill one of the birds in a clay vessel over running water.

51 He shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet,

and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird,

and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

52 Then he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird,

and with the running water, and with the living bird,

and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet.

53 But he shall let the living bird loose outside the city

into the open fields and make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

54 This is the law for all manner of leprous sore and scale,

55 and for the disease of a garment, or of a house,

56 (Lev 13:2) and for a swelling, or for a scab, or for a spot,

57 (Lev 10:10) to discern when it is unclean and when it is clean.

This is the law of leprosy.



[33] And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your

possession;

priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not

made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

[37] And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the

walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight

are lower than the wall;

[38] Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and

shut up the house seven days:

[39] And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and,

behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

[40] Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which

the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the

city:

[41] And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they

shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an

unclean place:

[42] And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those

stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.

[43] And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he

hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after

it is plaistered;

[44] Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be

spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean.

[45] And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber

thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out

of the city into an unclean place.

[46] Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up

shall be unclean until the even.

[47] And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that

[48] And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the

The Law About Bodily Discharges



1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:

2 (Lev 22:4; Nu 5:2) Speak to the children of Israel,

and say to them: When any man has a discharge out of his body,

his discharge is unclean.

3 This is the instruction for his uncleanness in his discharge,

whether the discharge from his body flows or his body is

stopped up by his discharge, it is his uncleanness.

4 Every bed on which the man with the discharge lies shall be unclean,

and everything on which he sits shall be unclean.

5 (Lev 11:25; 16:26) Whoever touches the bed shall wash his clothes,

and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

6 And whoever sits on anything where the man sat who has the discharge

shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water,

and be unclean until the evening.

7 And whoever touches the body of him who has the discharge shall

wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water,

and be unclean until the evening.

8 If the man with the discharge spits on someone who is clean,

then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water,

and be unclean until the evening.

9 Any saddle on which the man with a discharge rides shall be unclean.

10 Whoever touches anything that was under him shall be unclean

until the evening, and he who carries any of those things shall

wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water,

and be unclean until the evening.

11 Whomever he who has the discharge touches,

and has not rinsed his hands in water,

he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water,

and be unclean until evening.

12 (Lev 6:28; 11:32-33) The earthen vessel that he who has the discharge

touches shall be broken, and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

13 (Lev 8:33; 14:8) When he who has a discharge is cleansed of his issue,

then he shall count to himself seven days for his cleansing,

and wash his clothes, and bathe his body in running water, and shall be clean.

14 (Lev 12:8) On the eighth day he shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons

and come before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting

and give them to the priest.

15 (Lev 4:26; 14:30-31) And the priest shall offer them,

one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering,

and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord for his discharge.

16 (Lev 22:4; Dt 23:10-11; Lev 15:5) If any man has a seminal emission,

then he shall wash all his body in water and be unclean until the evening.

17 Every garment and all leather on which there is seminal emission

shall be washed with water and be unclean until the evening.

18 If a man lies with a woman, and there is an emission of semen,

they shall both bathe themselves in water and be unclean until the evening.

19 (Lev 12:2) If a woman has a discharge, and the discharge from her body

is blood, she shall be set apart for seven days; and whoever touches

her shall be unclean until the evening.

20 (Lev 15:4-9) Everything that she lies on in her menstrual impurity

shall be unclean. Also, everything that she sits on shall be unclean.

21 Whoever touches her bed shall wash his clothes and bathe himself

in water, and be unclean until the evening.

22 Whoever touches anything on which she sits shall wash his clothes

and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

23 Whether it is the bed or anything on which she sits,

when he touches it he shall be unclean until the evening.

24 (Lev 20:18; 18:19) If any man lies with her,

and her menstrual impurity is on him,

he shall be unclean seven days,

and every bed where he lies shall be unclean.

25 (Mt 9:20; Mk 5:25) If a woman has a discharge of blood for many days,

not at the time of her menstrual impurity, or if she has a discharge

beyond the time of her impurity, all the days of the discharge

she shall be in uncleanness, as in the days of her impurity.

She shall be unclean.

26 Every bed that she lies on all the days of her discharge shall be

for impurity, and whatever she sits on shall be unclean,

as the uncleanness of her menstrual impurity.

27 Whoever touches those things shall be unclean

and shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water

and be unclean until the evening.

28 (Lev 15:13-15) But if she is cleansed of her discharge,

then she shall count to herself seven days,

and after that she shall be clean.

29 On the eighth day she shall take two turtledoves

or two pigeons and bring them to the priest

at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

30 The priest shall offer one for a sin offering

and the other for a burnt offering,

and the priest shall make atonement for her before the Lord

for her unclean discharge.

31 (Nu 5:3; 19:13; 19:20) Thus you shall separate

the children of Israel from their uncleanness,

so that they do not die in their uncleanness by defiling

My tabernacle that is among them.

32 This is the law for him who has a discharge and for him

who has a seminal emission and thus becomes unclean,

33 and for her who is sick from her menstruation,

and for him who has a discharge, for anyone male or female,

The Law for Cleansing Lepers



1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2 (Lk 17:14; Nu 6:9) This shall be the law of the leper in the day

of his cleansing: It shall be reported to the priest,

3 (Lev 13:46) and the priest shall go out of the camp, and the priest

shall examine him and see if the disease is healed in the leprous person.

4 (Nu 19:6; Lev 14:6) Then the priest shall command that two live clean birds

and cedar wood and scarlet fabric and hyssop be brought for him

who is to be cleansed.

5 The priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered

in a clay vessel over running water.

6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, the cedar wood,

the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird

in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

7 (2Ki 5:10; 5:14) Then he shall sprinkle it seven times on him

who is to be cleansed from leprosy, and he shall pronounce him

clean and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

8 (Lev 11:25; Nu 8:7) He that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes,

and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water,

so that he may be clean. After that he shall come into the camp

and shall stay outside of his tent seven days.

9 (Nu 6:9) But it shall be on the seventh day that he shall shave

all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows,

all his hair he shall shave off, and he shall wash his clothes.

Also he shall wash his body in water, and he shall be clean.

10 (Lev 2:1; 14:12) On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs

without blemish, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish,

and three-tenths of an ephah (Or stranger.) of wheat flour mixed

with oil for a grain offering, and one log of oil.

11 The priest who makes him clean shall present the man

who is to be made clean and those things before the Lord

at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

12 (Ex 29:24; Lev 6:6-7) Then the priest shall take one male lamb

and offer it for a guilt offering, along with the log of oil,

and wave them for a wave offering before the Lord.

13 (Ex 29:11; Lev 1:11) Then he shall slaughter the lamb in the place

where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering in the holy

sanctuary. For as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the guilt offering.

It is most holy.

14 (Ex 29:20; Lev 8:23-24) And the priest shall take some of the blood

of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right

ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand,

and on the big toe of his right foot.

15 And the priest shall take some of the log of oil and pour it into the palm

of his own left hand.

16 Then the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is

in his left hand, and shall sprinkle from the oil with his finger

seven times before the Lord.

17 And some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand the priest

shall put on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed,

and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot,

and on the blood of the guilt offering.

18 (Lev 4:26) And the rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand

he shall pour upon the head of him who is to be cleansed,

and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

19 (Lev 14:12) The priest shall offer the sin offering,

and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed

from his ceremonial uncleanness,

and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering.

20 (Lev 14:10) Then the priest shall offer the burnt offering

and the grain offering on the altar, and the priest shall

make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21 (Lev 12:8; 5:7) But if he is poor and cannot afford so much,

then he shall take one male lamb for a guilt offering to be waved

to make atonement for him, and one-tenth of an ephah

(Likely about 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms.)

and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.

26 Next the priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm

of his own left hand,

27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger

some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the Lord.

28 Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand

on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed,

and on the thumb of his right hand,

and on the big toe of his right foot on the place of the blood

of the guilt offering.

29 (Lev 14:18) The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand

he shall pour on the head of him who is to be cleansed to make

atonement for him before the Lord.

30 (Lev 14:22) He shall offer one of the turtledoves or the pigeons,

such as he can afford,

31 even such as he is able to get, one for a sin offering

and the other for a burnt offering, along with the grain offering,

and the priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed

before the Lord.

32 (Lev 14:10; 14:21)This is the law for a person who has a leprous

sore who cannot afford the offerings for his cleansing.
