Kazuto and his wife, Migiwa, waited with trepidation for the ultrasound exam

results. Migiwa's liver had been failing for more than nine months, and she

urgently needed a liver transplant. Kazuto could donate a portion of his liver

to his wife, but there was one condition: Migiwa's heart had to be strong. The

last ultrasound had shown slight improvement to her heart.

Would it show more this time?



To their disappointment, the results were the worst yet. Kazuto shared, "After

I comforted my crying wife, I also cried by myself. But . . . as Henri Nouwen

writes, waiting isn't a waste of time because God is nurturing something

wonderful . . . while we wait, even though we can't see anything

on the surface."



Kazuto's confidence in God paralleled that of King David, who wrote, "Wait for

the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14).

Because God is our "light," "salvation," and "stronghold' (v. 1), we can trust

Him to offer hope amid darkness (v. 3), comfort us during our trials (v. 13),

and secure us safely in "his dwelling" (v. 5).



When God seems to delay in answering our prayers, we can still put our

complete trust in His unchanging attributes. As we bring our heartaches to

Him, let's also instruct our hearts: "Be strong and take heart and wait for

the Lord" (v. 14). He is with us and always working for our good.

Jackie's preschool class took on an exciting project: they were going to grow

flowers from seeds, Each child took the seed, planted it carefully in the

bedding soil, watered, and waited. But Jackie couldn't wait. Every day

for a week he ran to the window box, looked for his plants, poked, prodded,

unplanted the seeds and then planted them again. "It's no use,"

he pouted after the first week. "Nothing's gonna grow in there."

We live in an instant society - microwave dinners, quick fixes, easy answers.

We are conditioned by our environment to expect - even to demand -

immediate response, and when we have to wait,

we become impatient and irritable.

Paul's exhortation to the Galatians, "Let us not become weary in doing good,"

is as appropriate for twentieth-century believers as it was for the new church

at Galatia. We lose motivation when we don't see results,

and weariness sets in.

If our work does not seem to be producing as we hope, we want to abandon it

and move on to a new project.

But God says, "You will reap a harvest if you don't give up." We give up too

soon in our prayers for a loved one's salvation. We abandon hope too readily

when we don't see spiritual growth in our own lives, when our investment in

another's spiritual maturity seems to have no return. The Lord says,

"The harvest is coming; be patient; trust me."

In due season the harvest comes; when it's the right time. When the seed has

had time to germinate, when the roots are string enough, when the conditions

are right, the reaping time will come. But we must be willing to wait for

the due season, the moment of ripeness, when our labor brings its return.

Moncton, followed by Fredericton and Saint John, each have a growing Muslim

population in New Brunswick, In 2007, the building that was formerly a Baptist

church was converted into Moncton's 1st mosque. The University of Moncton

also has a Muslim student association hosting prayer services, fellowship

getherings, and outreaches on campus.

Fredericton also has one mosque and a Muslim student association serving the

campuses of the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University.

Fredericton's Muslim population consists in 2014 of about 50 families,

and between 300 to 400 university students.

Saint John is home to the 1st Muslim Association for the province,

which also helped foster the Islamic associations of Fredericton and Moncton.

a 'musalla', or prayer location that is not officially structured as a mosque,

has been established in the Uptown area with the intention of seeing it grow

into a 2nd official place of Muslim worship. Demand for this new location has

been primarily for university students moving into the area.



Pray for Muslims and New Brunswick

- that the eyes of pastors, believers and entire congregations will be opened

to see this growing body of Muslims, and their hearts will be opened

to sharing God's love in Jesus Christ with them

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you

know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about

unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such

movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three

decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim

relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.



Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,

"What does this mean?"

I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to

cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

African Muslims are attracted to La Belle Provence.

And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more

This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches

and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small

by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.



For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

Muslims are understandably located along the southern border stretching

from Windsor eastward all the way up to Ottawa. Yet Muslims are constantly

resettling in more and more suburban and even small towns of Ontario. Mosques

are springing up, and where there are enough gathered, Islamic schools

are starting.

And they're not complacent, either. Many Islamic leaders are energetic in their

advancement of Islam in Canadian society. Recently in the Niagara Region,

the local mosque distributed via Canada Post as many as 50000 full-colour

brochures on Islam. An that mosque's Facebook page proudly show pictures of

"reverts", or white Canadians who have converted to Islam as a result of

receiving the flier and engaging with the mosque community. Another town

reports Muslims going door-to-door evangelism.

and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days

of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that

usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,

of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be

decorated and festivals will be held.



For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the

distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of

Islam.



You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",

which means Blessed Eid!"

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very

diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting

it might be twice that size.

Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size

of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.

Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth

of this Muslim centre in Manitoba.

We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers

among Muslims in Winnipeg.



Let us intercede in unity for:



- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population

- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim

Saskatchewan



Quick facts on Muslims in Saskatchewan



Saskatchewan 2015 population 1125400

CNMM Networks: Saskatoon



Saskatoon has seen quick growth in its Muslim population over the past

5 years, which maybe as high as 5000 today. Islamic leaders have

focused specifically on this city , having twice already sent cohorts

of about 70 families to start mosques. There are now 7 Islamic centres

of worship and an ISlamic madrassah (school) located right next to a

Christian school.

Of particular concern recently is the number of young adults who grew up

in evangelical churches and converted to Islam. Most of these are young

women whowere wooed by Muslim man and became emotionally bonded.

Both prior to and after marrying, these women are known to convert to ISlam.



Agree in prayer with us for:

- entire congregations and individual believers to catch God's heart

and passion for reaching Muslims in Saskatoon and the other growing

Muslim population centres of Saskatchewan.

- for the eyes and understanding of Canadian youth to be opened to the

spiritual reality of Islam, and not deceived nor manipulated into

converting to a religion which cannot offer assurance of salvation.

- for the few workers among Muslims now engaged there, and for many more

to be raised up into effective witness.

- for prayer and training events that are starting in Saskatoon

to spread and grow to other cities.

Pray for Somalia





Yasin has been a Christian for several years and has paid a high price

for it. Somalia is 99% Sunni Muslim and conversion from Islam is

illegal. Yasin did not publicise his faith, but he did share his belief

in Jesus on TikTok. This became public knowledge, and his voice was

recognised by his family. He was subsequently imprisoned, banned from

seeing his wife and children, and his taxi was confiscated.



In Somalia, the pressure comes primarily from family and clan. This was

also the case for Yasin. His family wanted him to come back to Islam.

But when Yasin refused, his father banished him from the family. Still,

Yasin remains strong in his faith. A brother in the diaspora holds

online Bible studies, and Yasin faithfully participates. This connects

him to God's worldwide church.



Yasin has a hunger for the Word of God. He still cannot keep his mouth

shut and continues to witness. Witnessing in Somalia usually doesn't

involve direct evangelism as that would immediately put lives in

danger. It's more often a matter of carefully sharing Jesus' teachings,

speaking from a place of love and forgiveness, and expressing hope.

It's a matter of carefully sharing a God you know, see, and love.



God is at work in Somalia. Much is being shared about the Christian

faith, especially online, and people are coming to faith. But all these

people face the same challenges as brother Yasin. Discovery means

exclusion from your family and clan (or worse). From that moment on,

your life is filled with uncertainty and danger.





How to Pray



Pray for Yasin's safety and livelihood and especially for his faith

and continued courage to show Jesus.

Intercede for Somali believers who are active online, that they may

share the Good News in truth.

* Praise God for the openness that exists among the Somali people in

Somalia and around the world.

Pray for the Gilaks of Iran



The Gilaks are a people group numbering nearly 5 million whose homeland is

Gilan on the southern and southwestern coast of the Caspian Sea. Whilst

considering themselves Iranian and generally speaking Iran's national

language, Farsi, they also have their own language, Gilaki, and their own

culture.



Varesh is Gilak. A talented musician, he was homeless, living under a bridge,

and addicted to drugs when he encountered the love of Jesus. Miraculously

freed from his addiction, he started using his musical skills to praise God.

However, due to a serious speech impediment, he couldn't sing.



During the 1980s Iran-Iraq war, Varesh noticed how a famous singer used songs

to urge young men to go to the frontline. So, he prayed that God would raise

up singers who would instead guide people into His loving arms. Not long

after, his pastor told him that he would be one of those singers! As he

prayed, received prayer and started singing, slowly his mouth and tongue

began to change and God healed him!



Varesh started composing poetry and worship songs in Farsi and Gilaki. He also

started pastoring others. Sadly, because of this activity he was arrested and

imprisoned, and upon release he and his family had to leave Iran and seek

asylum elsewhere.

Although living outside of ran, they have continued to serve the Lord. With

the encouragement and support of other believers, Varesh is publishing his

Gilaki worship songs for the first time and leading worship in the first ever

online Gilaki church! One of his songs about forgiveness, published as a

moving video filmed by his daughter, is helping other Gilaks to forgive

those who have hurt them.



How to Pray



Ask God that through Varesh’s worship songs,

many Gilaks would come to faith in Jesus.



Pray that believers would hear the Lord speaking

through the songs and obey what He says.



Intercede for a safe long-term country of asylum for Varesh

and his family and for peace as they wait.



My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Eight) Day 9 - God doesn't just inspire change - He empowers it.

and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will take away the stony heart

out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 (Eze 37:14; Isa 59:21) I will put My Spirit within you and cause you

to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.





[26] A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within

you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give

you an heart of flesh.

Picture your arms full of garbage, it's heavy and you canlt take another load,

but yet you're carrying it around. Now let’s say you have a friend who wants

to give you a gift, it’s this nicely wrapped up and it's big, but yet you

can't because your arms are full. So in order to receive the gift you'd have

to put down all that garbage so you can hold the gift. God is that friend

and he has a gift he wants us to receive. A new heart of flesh

and a new spirit, a new identity and direction.



So what does it mean to have a heart of flesh? A heart of flesh is an awakened

spirit, its alive, obedient, tender love, devoted, living internally. While a

heart of stone is spiritually numb, stubborn/disobedient, loves less, expects

more, dying internally. And God is willingly wanting to change our hearts, all

we have to do is receive it with open arms. There's nothing we could ever do

to earn God's love, his love isn't earned it's given. And always will be no

matter what we've done or who we are. There is hope and new life to all who

will receive it.



How do you receive it? Surrender your life, your earthly desires, admit the

need for change and repent/turn away from your old life. Your old identity,

putting down the garbage that you're holding on to and allowing God to

reshape your new identity and heart of stone.



Ezekiel 37 is the valley of dry bones. Ezekiel is shown a vision of these dead

rotten bones in the dust, becoming dust. But yet God tells Ezekiel these bones

shall live again. It's the same with our hearts, no matter how far we seem

from God, or whatever we've done, or whatever your heart is carrying. There is

nothing that can separate you, or anything that is greater than the love God

has for you. So it’s never too late to surrender and receive the new life

and hope God promises.



It's an internal to external change through Christ, because the outer

purification will be of no use without the inner desire to live rightly before

God. Deep calls to deep, as you pour yourself out to God, God fills you with

his love and spirit. This new heart of flesh enables us to walk in obedience

following God's will. And to be able to enter into a renewed covenant with

God, a new mindset, desire, identity, and direction.

The more I think of God's greatness, the more I feel the weight of my sin.

James is clear in James 4:8-10 that we are to have an emotional response to

our sin. We are to have great sorrow and grief for our actions. The more

sensitive we are to our sin, the greater sensitivity we have towards the

goodness of Jesus. It is from this state that we are able to experience the

greatness of God's grace. We are not stuck in our sin, for when we come close

to God, God will come close to you. The closer we are to God, the more we will

desire what He desires and hate what He hates.



Coming close to God means being humble before Him and surrendering our hearts,

our actions, and our lives to Him. It is letting godly remorse lead us towards

repentance. The sorrow and grief of our own sin is not to be condemnation or

shame, for it does not change our standing before God. Jesus is the one who

defines our goodness. That is why we are to come before Jesus with a humbled

heart, allowing Jesus to lift us up in His power, and not our own.

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.



Please join us in praying for:

- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Pray for the Zaza of Turkey



Everyone called him Doctor K. Since becoming a Christian, his dream was to use

his medical training to see his fellow Zaza come to Christ. Combining physical

healing with a longing to see spiritual healing, Dr. K. tirelessly travelled

the ancient Zaza homelands in the east of Turkey to do medical clinics and to

share the gospel.



Whether it was wizened old farmers with foot fungus or toothless aunties with

gum disease, Dr. K. listened and served with patience and compassion. His

ministry was shortened when, only a few months after twin baby daughters were

born, he died of leukemia.



Then God raised up another apostle to the Zaza. Unlike Dr. K., Ismail was not

Zaza but, like Dr. K., had a passion to see them reached. Like Dr. K., he was

a man filled with compassion and love. And like Dr. K., his ministry was

shortened when he died of colon cancer last year.



In the wake of Ismail's passing, the entire Turkish church mourned. Together,

they posted their love and appreciation on Instagram saying:



“A life dedicated to Jesus Christ, a life spent proclaiming the Good News of

salvation from city to city, village to village. Our beloved brother has

passed away. However, his life story has left behind a testimony that can

serve as an example to us all, both in terms of his determination and his love

for Jesus Christ. It has encouraged us to be witnesses who reflect the

gracious love of Christ, like the moon reflecting the light of the sun."

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's

become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.

Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group

coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries

such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.

Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,

emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still

continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our

Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom

they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.



Please join us in praying for:

- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.

- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to

Muslim-background believers.

- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially

in their faith and the Church.

- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their

not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.

- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.

- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim

in these growing Muslim population centres.

Pray for the Sundanese



Ibu Asih began a new job at a Christian-owned business, where many employees

were believers. She had five dreams about Jesus over the course of a year but

didn't tell anyone about it. Eventually, Ibu Asih began to open up about her

faith with her coworkers.



She eventually began studying the Bible with several Jesus-followers at work.

Then, while riding on her motorbike one day, she was suddenly overwhelmed

with the reality of God's love for her. She was so moved that she began

sobbing. When she arrived home, she hugged her family and wept, "The love of

God! I love you!"



Ibu Asih's impactful experience of the love of God through Jesus led to both

her husband and her mother beginning to follow Jesus. Later, her husband began

to doubt his new faith, and threatened to divorce her if she continued to read

the Bible. Not long after, she and her mother were kicked out of their family

home.



Eventually, the entire village turned against them, sending them away from the

only place they had ever known. Years of rejection followed, and they were

afraid for their lives. But God always protected and provided.



Ibu Asih's husband eventually repented and returned to the Lord. Now, Ibu Asih

continues to carry the love of God with her saying, "Every day I feel like I'm

led by Jesus, by the hand." In just the last few months, she has seen dozens

come to Christ and her husband has a compassionate heart and a desire to see

young men follow Jesus.

How to Pray



Pray that the 42 million Sundanese people would have a revelation of who

Jesus is.



Ask God that the testimony of believers like Ibu Asih to bear fruit

amongst their people.



Pray for fellowships of radiant Sunda believers to multiply and flourish,

even despite seasons of persecution and harsh treatment.



My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Day 5 - A powerful fasting metaphor: untouched soil can’t produce fruit.

Hosea 10:12 calls us to "Sow to yourselves righteousness, reap mercy,

break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord,

until He comes and rains righteousness upon you." In the context of ancient

Israel, Hosea urged a wayward people to turn from idolatry and plant seeds of

justice and faithfulness, promising a harvest of God's steadfast love and

blessing.



This verse speaks profoundly to money and finance. Just as farmers sow seeds

expecting a return, our financial decisions are acts of sowing. Sowing

righteousness means aligning our finances with God's principles: tithing

generously (Malachi 3:10), avoiding debt bondage (Proverbs 22:7), and using

wealth to serve others rather than hoarding it selfishly (1 Timothy 6:17-19).

Too often, we chase quick riches through unethical means or consumerism,

leading to spiritual barrenness. But, breaking up "unplowed ground" invites us

to cultivate new habits - budgeting prayerfully, investing in kingdom work,

and trusting God as our Provider (Matthew 6:33).



Imagine a farmer ignoring fertile soil; similarly, neglecting financial

stewardship wastes God's potential blessings. Reaping unfailing love isn't

about prosperity gospel guarantees, but experiencing God's faithfulness amid

obedience. When we seek the Lord first, He "showers righteousness,"

multiplying our efforts for eternal impact.



Brothers and sisters, examine your financial soil today. Are you sowing seeds

of greed or generosity? Commit to breaking fallow ground through disciplined

giving and wise management. As Galatians 6:7 reminds, we reap what we sow. Let

your finances reflect a heart pursuing Christ, and watch God bring a bountiful

harvest.

Pray for Uttar Pradesh



The majority of India's population is Hindu. That makes it easy to forget that

if India's Muslims were counted as a single country, it would - after

Indonesia - be the second largest Muslim country in the world.



200 million Muslims reside in India, spread over every Indian state, just like

their delicious cuisine has spread to most of the world. Uttar Pradesh is

the Indian state with the highest population of Muslims. Though only 19% of

the population, they number over 38 million people.



The increase in Hindu nationalism in recent decades has sometimes made life

difficult for both Muslims and Christians.



Rahim was a young Muslim man who moved from his village in Uttar Pradesh to

one of its cities. There, he rented a room in a building before he learned

that an infidel also lived there – another Muslim who had become a Christian.

Rahim hated him for his defection, but was also intrigued. Curious to know

how Christians prayed, he put his ear to the wall and strained to hear what

they were doing. He was shocked to hear that, despite his hostility,

they were praying for God to bless him.



Rahim decided to open the door to friendship with his neighbours. They, in

turn, opened the door of eternal life to him. Rahim grew to love Jesus and

gave his life to him. He eventually became a pastor and his own testimony

has borne fruit in the lives of countless Muslims.

How to Pray



Ask God to protect Indian Muslims from ethnic violence and keep them safe.

that God's Spirit would influence then to act justly,

prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,

and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

8 ) Day 4 - Humility precedes healing and restoration.



Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14



14 (2Ch 6:27; 6:37-39) if My people, who are called by My name,

will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn

from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

If you have been in Christian circles for any length of time, you have likely

heard of Dave Ramsey. When asked how he is doing, his typical response is

"better than I deserve." This simple saying speaks directly to most of the

questions he receives. It confronts the two extremes which we typically

vacillate between—pride/entitlement or victimization/shame—and encourages us

to think of ourselves humbly and rightly.



If you are fasting, you are acknowledging that something is not right; so,

when we come to verses like this, we cling to its promise of restoration

and healing, but have we acknowledged the prerequisite of humility?

If we also consider the context, we are encouraged to be humble when life

throws us a curveball, but that seems easier said than done. For myself I

often err towards pride, and think things like "no big deal I can do this"

or "how foolish of them, they should do this." Deut. 8:18, 1 Cor. 3:18

and Gal. 6:3 don't seem to enter my mind in these moments.



Maybe you are on the other spectrum, and you feel worthless or powerless.

Again, humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking about

yourself less. We can rest knowing that God thinks highly of us

and fights for us (Ps 8:4; Rom. 8:31) so we do not have to. With that,

let us humbly trust God for who he is and what he is doing; knowing that

our circumstances are always better than we deserve.

- Where on the "humility spectrum" do I tend to gravitate and how do I

invite God into that?



- Gratitude can re-orientate our humility. What is something that I

can be grateful about, even amidst the adversity I am fasting about?



Prayer Points:



- Pray for the members of the Mission Servant Council as several of them

are experiencing health issues, or are needing to step away for a period.



- Please intercede for the Islamic community as they are currently practicing

Ramadan. Pray that many will encounter the hope of Jesus as they fast.
