Habukkak
Habakkuk 1
1 (Na 1:1) The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw.
Habakkuk's Complaint
2 (Ps 13:1-2; 22:1-2) O Lord, how long shall I cry,
and You will not hear?
Or cry to You, "Violence!"
and You will not save?
3 (Ps 55:9-11; Jer 9:2-6) Why do You make me see wickedness,
and cause me to see trouble?
Plundering and violence are before me;
strife and contention arise.
4 (Ps 119:126; Eze 9:9) Therefore the law is powerless,
and justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
therefore injustice proceeds.
The Lord's Answer
5 (Isa 29:14; Eze 12:22-28) Look among the nations,
and watch - wonder and be amazed!
For I am doing a work in your days
that you would not believe,
though it were told you.
6 (2Ki 24:2; Jer 5:15) For I am raising up the Chaldeans,
that bitter and hasty nation
which marches through the breadth of the earth,
to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.
7 (Jer 39:5-9) They are terrible and dreadful;
their justice and their dignity
proceed from themselves.
8 (Jer 4:13; Zep 3:3) Their horses are swifter than leopards,
more fierce than evening wolves.
Their horsemen charge on;
their horsemen come from afar;
they fly like the eagle that hastens to eat.
9 They all come for violence;
their forces advance like the east wind.
They gather captives like sand.
10 (2Ch 36:6; 36:10) They scoff at kings,
and they scorn rulers.
They deride every stronghold,
for they build up siege ramps to capture it.
11 Then their mind changes,
and they transgress and commit offense;
their own power is their god.
Habakkuk's Second Complaint
12 (Dt 32:4; 33:27) Are You not from everlasting,
O Lord my God, my Holy One? We will not die.
O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment;
and You, O Rock, have established them for correction.
13 (Ps 34:15-16; 35:22) Your eyes are too pure to look on evil,
and You cannot look on wickedness.
Why do You look on those who deal treacherously,
and hold Your tongue when the wicked
devours the man who is more righteous than he?
14 You make men like fish of the sea,
like crawling things that have no ruler.
15 (Jer 16:16; Am 4:2) They bring all of them up with a hook,
they catch them in their net;
they gather them in their dragnet.
Therefore they rejoice and are glad.
16 (Hab 1:11) Therefore they sacrifice to their net
and burn incense to their dragnet;
for by them their portion is extravagant,
and their food plentiful.
17 Shall they continue to empty their net,
and continually kill the nations while not sparing anyone?
Habakkuk 1
[1] The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
[2] O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto
thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
[3] Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for
spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and
contention.
[4] Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the
wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment
proceedeth.
[5] Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I
will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told
you.
[6] For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which
shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces
that are not theirs.
[7] They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall
proceed of themselves.

[9] They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east

unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust,
and take it.
[11] Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend,
imputing this his power unto his god.
[12] Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall
not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God,
thou hast established them for correction.
[13] Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on
iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and
holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous
than he?
[14] And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that
have no ruler over them?
[15] They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net,
and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
[16] Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their
drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.
[17] Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay
the nations?
Habakkuk 2
1 (Ps 85:8; Isa 21:8) I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the watchtower;
and I will keep watch to see what He will say to me,
and what I will answer when I am reproved.
The Just Shall Live by Faith
2 (Dt 27:8; Isa 8:1) And the Lord answered me:
Write the vision,
and make it plain on tablets,
that he who reads it may run.
3 (Da 10:14; Ps 27:14) For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
but it speaks of the end,
and does not lie.
If it delays, wait for it;
it will surely come, it will not delay.
4 (Ro 1:17; Heb 10:38; Jn 3:36) Look, his soul is lifted up;
it is not upright in him;
but the just shall live by his faith.
5 (Pr 27:20; 20:1) Indeed, wine betrays the proud man,
who does not stay at home.
He enlarges his appetite as Sheol,
and like death he is never satisfied.
He gathers to himself all nations
and collects for himself all peoples.
Woe to the Wicked
6 (Nu 23:7; Job 20:15-29) Shall not all these take up a taunt
against him, with satire and riddles, and say,
"Woe to him who increases what is not his-how long?
And to him who loads himself with heavy debts!"
7 (Pr 29:1) Shall not your debtors rise up suddenly,
and those awake who oppress you?
Then you will be their plunder.
8 (Isa 33:1; Hab 2:17) Because you have plundered many nations,
all the remnant of the people will plunder you,
because of the bloodshed of men and violence of the land,
of the cities and all who live in them.
9 (Jer 49:16) "Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house,
to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the power of calamity!"
10 (2Ki 9:26; Na 1:14) You have given shameful counsel to your house
by cutting off many peoples, and forfeiting your life.
11 (Lk 19:40; Jos 24:27) For the stone will cry out from the wall,
and the beam of the woodwork will answer it.
12 (Mic 3:10; Na 3:1) "Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed
and establishes a city on iniquity!"
13 (Isa 50:11; Jer 51:58) Is it not from the Lord of Hosts
that the people labor to feed fire,
and the nations weary themselves for nothing?
14 (Isa 11:9; Ps 22:27) For the earth will be filled with the knowledge
of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the seas.

pouring out your poison until they are drunk,

You yourself-drink and show your uncircumcision!
The cup of the Lord's right hand will be turned against you,
and utter shame will come on your glory!

as will the plunder of beasts that terrified them,
because of the bloodshed of men and violence of the land,
of the cities and all who live in them.
18 (Jer 10:8; Zec 10:2) What profit is a carved image
when its maker has carved it,
a cast image, and a teacher of lies,
that its maker trusts in what he has shaped
when he makes mute idols?
19 (Ps 135:17; Jer 10:4) Woe to him who says to the wood, "Awake!"
To the silent stone, "Arise!" Can it teach?
It is overlaid with gold and silver,
and there is no breath at all in it.
20 (Ps 11:4; Zep 1:7) But the Lord is in His holy temple.
Let all the earth keep silence before Him.
Habakkuk 2
[1] I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to
see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
[2] And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain
upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
[3] For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall
speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely
come, it will not tarry.
[4] Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just
shall live by his faith.
[5] Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither
keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and
cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto
him all people:
[6] Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting
proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not
his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
[7] Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that
shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?
[8] Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people
shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land,
of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
[9] Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may
set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
[10] Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and
hast sinned against thy soul.
[11] For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the
timber shall answer it.
[12] Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by
iniquity!
[13] Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in
the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
[14] For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the
LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
[15] Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle
to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their
nakedness!
[16] Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy
foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned
unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.
[17] For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts,
which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the
land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
[18] What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it;
the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work
trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
[19] Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise,
it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is
no breath at all in the midst of it.
[20] But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence
before him.
Habakkuk 3
The Prayer of Habakkuk
1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth.
2 (Ps 85:6; 119:120) O Lord, I have heard the report of You,
and was afraid;
O Lord, revive Your work
in the midst of the years!
In the midst of these years
make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
3 (Dt 33:2; Ge 21:21) God came from Teman,
and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah
His glory covered the heavens,
and the earth was full of His praise.
4 (Job 26:14) His brightness was like the light;
rays flashed from His hand,
and there His power was hidden.
5 (Ex 12:29-30; Nu 16:46-49) Pestilence went out before Him,
and plague followed His feet.
6 (Ge 49:26; Dt 33:15) He stood and measured the earth;
He looked and shook the nations.
The eternal mountains were scattered,
the perpetual hills bowed.
His ways are everlasting.
7 (Ex 15:14-16) I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction;
the curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
8 (Ps 68:17; 18:10) Were you displeased with the rivers, O Lord?
Was Your anger against the rivers,

Zephaniah 1
1 (2Ch 34:1-33; Jer 1:2) The word of the Lord which came to Zephaniah
the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah,
the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
The Great Day of the Lord
2 (2Ki 22:16-17) I will utterly consume all things
on the face of the earth,
says the Lord;
3 (Eze 7:19; Hos 4:3) I will consume man and beast;
I will consume the birds of the heavens
and the fish of the sea,
and the stumbling blocks with the wicked.
I will cut off man from the face of the land,
says the Lord.
4 (Hos 10:5; 2Ki 23:4-5) I will stretch out my hand against Judah,
and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
I will cut off from this place the remnant of Baal,
and the name of the idolatrous priests along with the priests,
5 (1Ki 11:33; Jer 19:13) and those who bow down on the roofs
to the host of heaven;
those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord
and yet swear by Milcom;
6 (Isa 1:4; Jer 2:13) those who have turned back from following the Lord,
who have not sought the Lord nor inquired of Him.

For the day of the Lord is at hand;
the Lord has prepared the sacrifice;
He has consecrated His guests.

The Great Day of the Lord
14 (Joel 2:11; Zep 1:7) The great day of the Lord is near,
near and hastening quickly.
The sound of the day of the Lord is bitter;
the mighty man shall cry out there.
15 (Joel 2:2; Isa 22:5 ) That day is a day of wrath,
a day of trouble and distress,
a day of ruin and desolation,
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness,
16 (Isa 2:12-15) a day of trumpet and alarms
against the fortified cities
and against the high towers.
17 (Ps 83:10) I will bring distress on men,
so that they will walk like blind men.
Because they have sinned against the Lord,
their blood will be poured out like dust,
and their flesh like dung.
18 (Zep 3:8; Eze 7:19; Zep 1:2-3) Neither their silver nor their gold
will be able to deliver them
on the day of the Lord's wrath.
But the whole earth will be consumed
by the fire of His jealousy,
for He will make a sudden end

Zephaniah 1
[1] The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son
of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah
the son of Amon, king of Judah.
[2] I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.
[3] I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven,
and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I
will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.
[4] I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the
inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this
place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
[5] And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them
that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
[6] And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not
sought the LORD, nor inquired for him.
[7] Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD
is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
[8] And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I
will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are
clothed with strange apparel.
[9] In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the
threshold,
which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
[10] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there
shall
be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second,
and a great crashing from the hills.
[11] Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut
down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
[12] And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem
with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that
say in
their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
[13] Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a
desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they
shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
[14] The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly,
even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there
bitterly.
[15] That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of
wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds
and thick darkness,
[16] A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against
the high towers.
[17] And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind
men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be
poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
[18] Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in
the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the
fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them
that dwell in the land.

Walking in Christ's Light by Patricia Raybon
Ephesians 5:8-15
Walk as Children of Light
8 (Lk 16:8; Jn 12:36) For you were formerly darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light-
9 (Ro 15:14) for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness
and righteousness and truth-
10 (1Th 5:21) proving what is pleasing to the Lord.
11 (Ro 13:12; 1Ti 5:20) And do not have fellowship
with the unfruitful works of darkness; instead, expose them.
12 (Eph 5:3) For it is shameful even to speak of those things
which are done by them in secret.
13 (Jn 3:20-21) But all things are exposed when they are revealed
by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
14 (Isa 60:1; 26:19) Therefore He says:
"Awake, you who sleep,
arise from the dead,
and Christ will give you light."
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk
as children of light:
[9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and
truth;)
[10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
[11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather reprove them.
[12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them
in secret.
[13] But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for
whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
[14] Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee light.
Walk as Children of Light
15 (Col 4:5) See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men,
[15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Tim's hotel room seemed extra dark at night. What if he got up at night
and slipped and fell because he couldn't see? But when Tim did get up, he was
surprised to see a bright light shining from underneath the bed-lighting
his path. A motion sensor had activated it. The light only worked, however,
if he got up and started to walk.
The Bible says we're to walk with intent in God's light. As Paul told the new
believers in Jesus at Ephesus, "Follow God's example . . . and walk in the way
of love" (Ephesians 5:1-2). But what does it look like to walk that way?
As we step into Christ's loving light, we turn from our sins - that might
include immorality, impurity, idolatry, and coveting. "Have nothing to do
with the fruitless deeds of darkness,"
Paul said, "but rather expose them" (v. 11). Pagan worship thrived in Ephesus,
but the apostle's words steered the new believers aright. "At one time you
were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light" (v. 8 esv). He added, "The fruit of the light
consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth." So, "find out what
pleases the Lord" (vv. 9-10).
The benefit? The light of Jesus "will shine on you" (v. 14), lighting your
path. "Look carefully then how you walk," Paul concluded (v. 15 esv).
Walking confidently in Christ's light, we'll bless others as we point them
to Him --the source of true light.

How do you actively walk in Christ's light?

Week 3 - Saved Now and Forever - Day 5 - God Loved, So He Gave
John 3:16-17
16 (Ro 5:8; 1Jn 4:9-10; Jn 1:18) "For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Often called "the gospel in a nutshell", John 3:16 is so familiar,
even the unchurched, that it has all but lost its impact for us.
WE cite it by rote, as if it had no more meaning than a SSN (SIN),
and think that we understand the truth because we know the words.
Why did God send Jesus, his only Son, into the world to die?
Because he loved the people he created. God had no reason,
humanly speaking, to love mankind. Throughout history, from
the Garden of Eden forward, people had deliberately turned
against God and tried his patience. Even the nation God chose
for himself, Israel rebelled against the Lord and turned to other gods.
And we, as individuals, have rebelled against him too. WE have tried
to control our own lives; we have denied his reality; or
acknowledged his existence and then systematically ignored him.
We have become our own gods.
Yet Christ, in love, took upon himself the rejection, the humiliation,
the pain we were responsible for. We deserved to be condemned to die,
but he died for us instead. "God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world," John 3:17 says, "but that the world
through Him might be saved."
Often, even after we have committed our lives to Christ, we mistakenly
suppose that God's primary purpose is to condemn us - to catch us in sin
and punish us. But God says that his purpose is to love us and to save us
from sin and ourselves. He loved, and so he gave; he still loves us,
and he still continues to give.

Moncton, followed by Fredericton and Saint John, each have a growing Muslim
population in New Brunswick, In 2007, the building that was formerly a Baptist
church was converted into Moncton's 1st mosque. The University of Moncton
also has a Muslim student association hosting prayer services, fellowship
getherings, and outreaches on campus.
Fredericton also has one mosque and a Muslim student association serving the
campuses of the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University.
Fredericton's Muslim population consists in 2014 of about 50 families,
and between 300 to 400 university students.
Saint John is home to the 1st Muslim Association for the province,
which also helped foster the Islamic associations of Fredericton and Moncton.
a 'musalla', or prayer location that is not officially structured as a mosque,
has been established in the Uptown area with the intention of seeing it grow
into a 2nd official place of Muslim worship. Demand for this new location has
been primarily for university students moving into the area.
Pray for Muslims and New Brunswick
- that the eyes of pastors, believers and entire congregations will be opened
to see this growing body of Muslims, and their hearts will be opened
to sharing God's love in Jesus Christ with them
- that intentional ministries to Muslims will grow and flourish in these
areas of concentration
- that cooperative CNNMM Networks will form to really, encourage,
and equip believers to lovingly reach Muslims in this province.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"

a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

Walk as Children of Light

9 (Ro 15:14) for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness
and righteousness and truth-
10 (1Th 5:21) proving what is pleasing to the Lord.
11 (Ro 13:12; 1Ti 5:20) And do not have fellowship
with the unfruitful works of darkness; instead, expose them.
12 (Eph 5:3) For it is shameful even to speak of those things
which are done by them in secret.

Walk as Children of Light
15 (Col 4:5) See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men,
[15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Tim's hotel room seemed extra dark at night. What if he got up at night
and slipped and fell because he couldn't see? But when Tim did get up, he was
surprised to see a bright light shining from underneath the bed-lighting
his path. A motion sensor had activated it. The light only worked, however,
if he got up and started to walk.
The Bible says we're to walk with intent in God's light. As Paul told the new
believers in Jesus at Ephesus, "Follow God's example . . . and walk in the way
of love" (Ephesians 5:1-2). But what does it look like to walk that way?
As we step into Christ's loving light, we turn from our sins - that might
include immorality, impurity, idolatry, and coveting. "Have nothing to do
with the fruitless deeds of darkness,"
Paul said, "but rather expose them" (v. 11). Pagan worship thrived in Ephesus,
but the apostle's words steered the new believers aright. "At one time you
were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light" (v. 8 esv). He added, "The fruit of the light
consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth." So, "find out what
pleases the Lord" (vv. 9-10).
The benefit? The light of Jesus "will shine on you" (v. 14), lighting your
path. "Look carefully then how you walk," Paul concluded (v. 15 esv).
Walking confidently in Christ's light, we'll bless others as we point them
to Him --the source of true light.

John 3:16-17

Often called "the gospel in a nutshell", John 3:16 is so familiar,
even the unchurched, that it has all but lost its impact for us.
WE cite it by rote, as if it had no more meaning than a SSN (SIN),
and think that we understand the truth because we know the words.
Why did God send Jesus, his only Son, into the world to die?
Because he loved the people he created. God had no reason,
humanly speaking, to love mankind. Throughout history, from
the Garden of Eden forward, people had deliberately turned
against God and tried his patience. Even the nation God chose
for himself, Israel rebelled against the Lord and turned to other gods.
And we, as individuals, have rebelled against him too. WE have tried
to control our own lives; we have denied his reality; or
acknowledged his existence and then systematically ignored him.
We have become our own gods.
Yet Christ, in love, took upon himself the rejection, the humiliation,
the pain we were responsible for. We deserved to be condemned to die,
but he died for us instead. "God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world," John 3:17 says, "but that the world
through Him might be saved."
Often, even after we have committed our lives to Christ, we mistakenly
suppose that God's primary purpose is to condemn us - to catch us in sin
and punish us. But God says that his purpose is to love us and to save us
from sin and ourselves. He loved, and so he gave; he still loves us,
and he still continues to give.
Application

Moncton, followed by Fredericton and Saint John, each have a growing Muslim
population in New Brunswick, In 2007, the building that was formerly a Baptist
church was converted into Moncton's 1st mosque. The University of Moncton
also has a Muslim student association hosting prayer services, fellowship
getherings, and outreaches on campus.
Fredericton also has one mosque and a Muslim student association serving the
campuses of the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University.
Fredericton's Muslim population consists in 2014 of about 50 families,
and between 300 to 400 university students.
Saint John is home to the 1st Muslim Association for the province,
which also helped foster the Islamic associations of Fredericton and Moncton.
a 'musalla', or prayer location that is not officially structured as a mosque,
has been established in the Uptown area with the intention of seeing it grow
into a 2nd official place of Muslim worship. Demand for this new location has
been primarily for university students moving into the area.
Pray for Muslims and New Brunswick
- that the eyes of pastors, believers and entire congregations will be opened
to see this growing body of Muslims, and their hearts will be opened
to sharing God's love in Jesus Christ with them
- that intentional ministries to Muslims will grow and flourish in these
areas of concentration
- that cooperative CNNMM Networks will form to really, encourage,
and equip believers to lovingly reach Muslims in this province.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."
Ideas for prayer
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

- that intentional ministries to Muslims will grow and flourish in these
areas of concentration
- that cooperative CNNMM Networks will form to really, encourage,
and equip believers to lovingly reach Muslims in this province.
Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
Pray that the Lord will be close to the brokenhearted in our society
and be their help
Pray for the staff and volunteers that serve in local churches in your
city or community, that the Lord will anoint them for effective service.
Pray that God would lead many more Muslims in Djibouti to salvation in Christ.
Pray to the Lord that to know the Holy Spirit.
and Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.
