Maurice Lopez
My name is Maurice Lopez and i am currently a operations editor for the Brick corporate office in Edmonton Alberta Canada. I am also a part time web designer freelancer. I previously attended Nait Technical College where i graduated with a diploma from the Digital Media and IT program. In my studies, i have come to develop a strong background knowledge in web development and design incorporating many different languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, and Jquery, as well i have experience working with servers and databases. I have been able to use those skills and knowledge and apply them into the real world by designing and developing websites for many local companies such as Gee and Gee racing, Toastmasters Edmonton, and Cornerstone Church of God.

In terms of my personal life, i am an avid Michael Jackson fan, and its because of him i get my motivation and strength to not only dance, but to also take on challenges in all areas of my life. Im also very athletic and keeping fit is a personal venture of mine as i always like to see how far my body can go. I like to play soccer and hockey and spend time with my family and friends. Im also a devout Christian and i make Jesus Christ the central aspect of my life. My faith has allowed me to give back to the community by being a youth leader and mentor at my church to adolescent kids.

  • As we wind down to the final days of the games, i am always left with one vivid memory. Atlanta 96 with Donovan Bailey bringing home the Gold, and breaking the world record for good measure, Sydney 2000 where Daniel Igali captured Gold in wrestling and then kissing the Canadian flag. For many, the games of 2012 will be reminiscent in people's minds with Michael Phelps becoming the greatest Olympian ever by finishing his career with 22 medals, the most ever. However, the story of the Canadian womens soccer team will mean more in the long run....why?? Soccer is already the highest registered sport in Canada, and with the story of these girls doing something most thought were impossible, the future holds bright for the next generation of girls in Canada who are now inspired more then ever to become the next Christine Sinclair. Wake up Canada!, we are hosting the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup, let your voices be heard and lets support our girls and their journey to capturing the World Cup on home soil!
